Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

With leaders Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies not in action this weekend in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One it was a chance for the chasing sides to close the gap. Hemel Hempstead with a healthy lead having a 100% record so far this season. St Albans Ladies trailing Hemel Hempstead by 9 points having 2 games in hand. Playing one this Sunday were at home to bottom side Hitchin Belles. The visitors finding life in Division One tough after winning the Division Two title last season. Without a point on the board so far from 6 this season. St Albans in good form scoring goals too Cally Salter getting the hosts off the the perfect start putting them 1 up within a minute. Top scorer Eleanor Lovelock and a goal from Ellen Salter seeing St Albans 3-0 up inside 10 minutes. Hitchin awarded a penalty Amy Jack pulling it back to 3-1 from the spot. St Albans strong in the first half, Sophie Hull putting the hosts 4-1 up on 20 minutes, Lovelock going on to complete a first half hat-trick with Cally Salter also scoring a 2nd. A quieter 2nd half a spirited performance from Hitchin despite the scoreline St Albans getting an 8th goal in the 73rd minute Lovelock scoring her 4th of the game and 19th of the season. Two quickfire goals coming late on for Jessica Cavaree her first of the season for St Albans. Winning 10-1 St Albans move into 2nd spot in the Division One table 6 behind Hemel Hempstead. 

Hitchin Town Ladies previously 2nd fall 2 places to 4th in the Division One table as they were defeated at home to Northwood Ladies on Sunday. The visitors with a 3rd straight win in the league moving up the table after collecting just 2 points from their opening 3 matches games in hand on all above with be pushing for a top three finish. Emma Steele scoring a brace for Northwood takes her onto 6 for the season a brace too for Clara Morillon her first goals for the club along with one for Honor Cantrell in a deserved 5-2 victory. Holly Darling and Emma Chaffey from the penalty spot for Hitchin Town.

Hartham United Ladies also climbing the Beds & Herts Women’s Division One table this weekend up to 3rd in the table now after winning their 4th match of the season away to Royston Town Ladies Development at the weekend. Janiece Allen top scoring for Hartham Unite this season and she was on target for the opening goal this Sunday to put them 1 up. Royston hitting Hartham on the break coming back to level it up at 1-1, Eve Chappell scoring. Katherine Calvert on hand to restore Hartham’s lead latching onto a clearance put into her from outside the box to send in under the bar. A 3rd goal quickly following Allen with her 2nd of the game. Clinical finishing from the attacker as she went to to complete her hat-trick and secure a 4-1 win for Hartham with her 14th goal of the season.

   Tight in the middle of the Division One table Garston Ladies 1st well amongst the mix too. Were away to Houghton Athletic Ladies on Sunday. A solid start to their 2nd season in the top tier. A first goal of the season for Maddie Gorton, one from captain Leah Crockett and a 5th of the season for Holly Jury helping Garston to a 3-1 victory to put them on 11 points to keep them in touch with the sides above. Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

All very tight in the top half of Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two too with just 8 points between the top 6 sides now. League leaders AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies losing their 100% winning start at home to Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses on Sunday. A close scoreline Woburn & Wavendon edging the result 3 goals to 2 to win their 4th successive match following an opening day loss still back in 5th with 2 games in hand on AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College who have 18 at the top. A brace from Georgia-Rose Edwards along with a goal from Laura Taylor securing the win.

Garston Ladies Vintage Purples back in action after two weeks were at home playing Watton Ladies in Division Two this Sunday. 4th in the league Garston hitting the crossbar early on were dominating play, Samantha Roads with the opening goal, the ball falling to her 25 yards out struck well to find the top corner. More opportunities presented the lead just 1-0 at the break. Watton coming out of the blocks at the start of the 2nd half Garston keeper Vicki Duffy with a couple of saves. Jane Hales scoring on the volley to give Garston a 2-0 lead 10 minutes into the 2nd half. A dispute over whether a 3rd goal was scored direct from a corner in the end ruled out. Yasmin Sabri putting in a 20 yard shot to give Garston a crucial 3-0 lead Emma Trill adding a 4th straight form another corner kick late on.

  An eventful match the last time these two sides met the the cup it was no different in the league this weekend between Sherrardswood Ladies & Evergreen Ladies. 7-4 then after extra-time. This weekend the points were shared after Evergreen came back from behind 3 times to level the match at 3-3 come the full time whistle. Sherrardswood with an early lead Manjinder Atwal with her 5th of the season after just 3 minutes. Evergreen coming back to level with Grace Gibbons scoring her first goal for the club. Abby Cardell with her first of the season putting Sherrardswood back into the lead late in the first half. Time for Evergreen to respond captain Rebecca Freeman scoring her 5th goal of the season from a free-kick just outside the box. 2-2 at half-time a quieter 2nd half by comparison, Sherrardswood retaking the lead inside the final 10 minutes with Victoria Little on target for her first goal. Evergreen coming back to level for a third time in the dying moments of the match Gemma Arnett heading in from a corner kick to see the points shared.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Two matches played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this weekend. Also an away win awarded to Harvesters Ladies seeing them go 3 points clear at the top of the table over Herts Vipers who weren’t in action. Joining Herts Vipers on 18 points are Biggleswade United Ladies winning their 6th league game of the season at home to Kempston Rovers Ladies on Sunday continuing to apply pressure to the top two. Leeanne Davison ahead in the goal scoring charts for Biggleswade on target for her 17th goal of the season. Kayleigh Saunders moving onto 12 also on the scoresheet. Also amongst the goals this season are Zoe Molloy and Angelica Fachechi both scoring a goal each with Biggleswade winning 4-0 their winning run extended to 6 in all competitions.

  Stotfold Juniors Ladies were at home playing Bedwell Rangers Ladies this weekend in Division Three. Jessica Sullivan netting a brace for Bedwell Rangers taking her tally to 7 for the season. Stotfold Juniors taking the 3 points however scoring 3 to win the match 3-2. A first half brace for Georgia Dollman putting her on 5 for the season with Chloe Ward netting her 8th of the season with 15 minutes left to play. The 3 points taking Stotfold Juniors above Bedwell Rangers into 6th place.

Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup

One quarter final outstanding in the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup played this weekend, having been postponed last Sunday, Langford Ladies flying high in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two hosting ERWFL Premier Division side AFC Dunstable Women. Three leagues between the sides Dunstable’s new look side struggling in the league as they look to rebuild having lost several players over the summer. A much welcome victory in the county cup competition that will do wonders for the confidence. Jodi McClelland getting a brace celebrating her first goals for the club there were goals to for Hannah Ring and Louise McCay in a 4-1 win. Amber Clark with the goal for Langford. Dunstable joining, Luton Town Ladies, Houghton Athletic Ladies and Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses in the last four.

Hertfordshire Women’s Challenge Cup

  Also postponed from last weekend was the 2nd Round Hertfordshire Women Challenge Cup tie between Letchworth Garden City Eagles and Herts Vipers. Letchworth agreeing to switch venues as their pitch remained waterlogged. Playing in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One the highest league placed side Herts Vipers flying high at the top of Division Three ha faced this season. Herts Vipers getting off to a flying start taking the lead inside the opening 2 minutes Selin Buyukgiray with her 8th of the season finding the top corner. Letchworth coming back quickly to equalise winning a penalty Katie Smith sending the ball past the keeper to make it 1-1. Herts Vipers on the attack getting a penalty of their own 7 minutes later Buyukgiray netting her 2nd of the game had a hat-trick with a 3rd scored midway through the 1st half. Top scorer Nicole Jancey then getting in on the scoring act striking to make it 4-1 just past the half hour. Buyukgiray latching onto a through ball to collect her 4th of the game and 12th overall. A great first half for Buyukgiray ending on a sour note an altercation with a Letchworth player seeing her sent off. Herts Vipers down to 10 leading 5-1 at half-time. Despite their disadvantage Herts Vipers coped well keeping Letchworth out at one end whilst finding the back of the net for a further 3 goals, Jancey adding two more to get her hat-trick to take her past 30 for the season, Rachel Wall with the other goal. Herts Vipers into the quarter finals of the competition where they will face their toughest test yet a home tie against FAWNL South East Division One side Stevenage FC Women the game taking place on Sun 15th December.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies remain well clear at the top of Beds & Herts Women’s Division One as they continued their 100% winning start at home this Sunday in a top of the table clash hosting 2nd placed Hitchin Town Ladies. A 3-1 win to Hemel Hempstead in the finish doesn’t reflect the game as the hosts were pushed all the way by Hitchin the pair drawing right up till the 85th minute Hemel Hempstead with 2 late goals to clinch victory. It was Hitchin in fact who made the better start to the game taking the lead in the 11th minute Holly Darling shooting from the edge of the 18 yard box to make it 1-0. Hemel Hempstead coming back well looking for an equaliser hitting the bar, forcing the keeper into a save. A corner with 4 minutes played put into the mix in front of goal seeing the hosts score to make it 1-1 Leah Haley with her first goal of the season. Chances for both sides 2nd half the ball picked up in midfield carried forwards by Hemel Hempstead into the area and struck low off the post and in to give them the lead a penalty awarded in the 90th minute scored to see Hemel Hempstead win a cracking match 3-1, Charlene Turturici-Clarke and Jessica Green with the goals.

St Albans Ladies climb back up to 2nd spot in the Beds & Herts Women’s Division One table winning away to 5th placed Garston Ladies 1st at the weekend. St Albans with a narrow 1 nil lead at the break a different story in the 2nd period as they ran riot in front of goal to score a further 7 to win the match 8-1 and make it 5 wins from 6 played so far. The gap to Hemel Hempstead 9 points St Albans with 2 games in hand. Danniella Roberts with the 2nd half goal for Garston. 

 4th placed Hartham United Ladies were hosting Houghton Athletic Ladies this Sunday in the league. The visitors opening the scoring the ball put over the top dinked over the advancing keeper to make it 1-0. Hartham coming back to equalise awarded a free-kick on the edge of the box fired in by Ellie Burke. Hartham going on to take the lead themselves Janiece Allen played in behind the defence to fire home her 14th goal of the season. The points shared in the finish Houghton coming back to level their initial shot saved the rebound sent over the line. 2-2 the final score Shakeela Hussain and Bethany Phillips with the goals for Houghton.

Northwood Ladies final back in league action this Sunday six weeks since their last league victory cup games and postponements getting in the way. Were at home played Royston Town Ladies Development. A brace from Emma Steele taking her to 6 for the season and one for Scarlett Keightley helping Northwood to a 3-1 victory to make it 7 points from their last 3 games up to 5th in the table with games in hand on everybody above. Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

 Two games played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two this weekend, featuring the top two both away from home as they continued their 100% winning starts, AFC Dunstable Women Blues and AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies winning promotion last season doing well in Division Two. Kempston Town & Bedford 3 points clear at the top making it 6 wins from 6 away to Evergreen Ladies this Sunday. A goal in each half securing the 3 points Evergreen with a strong performance to Limit Kempston Town & Bedford goals from Rachel Mumford and Helen Spalding on her debut securing the 2 points.

AFC Dunstable Women Blues 2nd make it 5 wins from 5 now are scoring plenty of goals to 54 now from those 5 matches with just 4 conceded well out in front on goal difference were away to Watton Ladies this weekend in Division Two. Gemma Williams putting Dunstable into the lead inside 7 minutes, Emily Mitchell making it 2-0 2 minutes later. Nicola Hollick giving top scorer Bianca Vassell a run for her money scoring Dunstable’s 3rd with barely 20 minutes gone. A quick fire brace from Mitchell seeing her complete her hat-trick has 14 goals herself so far this campaign. Hollick with her 2nd of the match seeing Dunstable comfortably leading 6-0 at the break. More of the same 2nd half Vassell getting in amongst the goals making it 7-0 early on. Hollick completing her hat-trick joining Vassell on 19 goals for the season. Williams netting her 2nd of the game Vassell nudging ahead of Hollick to bring up double figures, Courtney McNamara with the final goal seeing Dunstable win 11-0.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Two matches played too in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this Sunday, Harvesters Ladies losing for the first time this season last time out returned to winning ways this weekend to rejoin leaders Harts Vipers on 18 points at the top of the table. Harvesters at home to Evergreen Eagles held at 0-0 for almost half an hour before Eve Shaw struck to fire in the opening goal. Harvesters finishing the first half strong, Shaw adding a 2nd goal, with Rachel King making it 3-0 with her 8th of the season. Eleanor Keating with a goal deep into injury time seeing the lead at 4-0. Rachel Dodd on target to make it 5-0 with almost an hour played. Shaw getting her 3rd to complete her hat-trick and put her top of the goal scoring charts with 9 for the season. Isobel Hughes with a goal 6 minutes from time wrapping up a 7-0 win.

 Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves the side to defeat Harvesters Ladies last weekend continue their fine recent form making it 3 wins on the bounce to climb up the Division Three table into 3rd spot just a point behind the leading pair. At home taking on Flitwick Eagles Ladies top scorer April Spang netting her 11th of the season putting Hitchin into a 29th minute lead. Flitwick doing well coming back to level the scores just before half-time a lobbed goal making it 1-1. The visitors starting the 2nd half well taking the lead. 2-1 down Hitchin were spurred into life Spang pulling it back to 2-2 in the 65th minute. The winning goal coming on the 82nd minute Hitchin attacking, Spang onto a ball over the top to fire home and complete her hat-trick winning the match for Hitchin.

Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup

 County Cup weekend across both counties this weekend, in Bedfordshire the competition reaching the quarter final stage. 3 of the 4 ties played this Sunday whilst Langford Ladies match at home to ERWFL side AFC Dunstable Women postponed the pair will try again this coming Sunday. 

 Of the ties played the big guns had been drawn together in the quarter finals, the finalists for the past two season’s locking horns, Bedford Ladies winning the competition with back to back victories over Luton Town Ladies. Now playing in the ERWFL Premier Division together Luton were hosting Bedford this Sunday. A goalless opening half hour it was Luton who would take the lead Funmi Bababola on target to score her 8th goal of the season making it 1-0. Rebecca Kane rounding the keeper on the stroke of half time putting Luton into a 2-0 lead at the break. The hosts extending their lead straight from the restart 2nd half Jess McKay firing home to make it 3-0, Luton taking control of the match going further ahead with Zara Carroll scoring from distance an own goal seeing Luton 5-0 up with an hour played. McKay with her 2nd of the match and 11th overall this season sending Luton into a 6 goal lead with 10 minutes left. Bedford scoring a consolation goal with 2 minutes left, Luton straight back up the other end to score a 7th goal awarded a penalty Erica Bryon converting from the spot the game won 7-1.

 A high scoring match in the quarter finals too between AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies leading Beds & Herts Division Two at home to fellow league side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses both in great form coming into the tie, Kempston Town & Bedford College with a 100% winning start to the league, finding the back of the net for 3 goals. Woburn & Wavendon on a good run too winning 3 successive league matches advancing through to the last 4 of the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup smashing 5 past their opponents up the other end. 

In the other quarter final tie played in the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup this weekend it went all the way to a penalty shootout between Beds & Herts Women’s Division One side Houghton Athletic Ladies at home to GRWFL Division One side, Luton Town Ladies Reserves. Houghton Athletic leading the game 1-0 at half-time. Would score another in the 2nd period with Ciara Craig and Bethany Phillips scoring on her debut getting the goals. Luton coming back though scoring twice in the 2nd half to draw the game 2-2 with Jodie Brooks and Hannah Major scoring to send the tie to a penalty shootout. Houghton Athletic coming out on top to take it 4-3 to advance to the semi-finals.

Hertfordshire Women’s Challenge Cup

   The Hertfordshire Women’s Challenge Cup reaching the 2nd Round 5 ties played this weekend with Letchworth Garden City Eagles home match against Herts Vipers called off the pair to try again this coming Sunday. Last season’s Challenge Cup winners and runners-up both progressing awarded home wins, Watford Ladies U23s and Stevenage FC Women.

  Stevenage FC Women’s Development side were at home to ERWFL Premier Division side Colney Heath Ladies in the 2nd Round of the Challenge Cup this weekend. Samaira Khan amongst the goals for Colney Heath since joining them from Dunstable this season her 15th strike of the season in the 35th minute the difference between the sides at half-time. Khan on target for her 2nd of the match to double Colney Heath’s advantage midway through the 2nd period, Olivia Mari with her first goal for the club making the result save with 6 minutes left despite Emily Schofield netting a minute later to pull a goal back for Stevenage.

  Watford Ladies Development also progressing to the quarter finals of the Challenge Cup with a comfortable win away to ERWFL Division One side Wodson Park Ladies. Charlotte Bailey putting the visitors into a 10th minute lead, Ciara Purdue netting a brace along with a goal for Katie Riddington seeing Watford hold a 4-0 lead at the break. Rebecca Lovelace on the hour to make it 5-0 with Sasha Williams on the scoresheet with 17 minute left to see the tie won 6-0.

 An eventful encounter elsewhere in the Challenge Cup 2nd Round an all Beds & Herts Division Two tie Sherrardswood Ladies at home to Evergreen Ladies. The visitors with just the 10 players available few chances early on. Sherrardswood taking the lead on the half hour Julie Briars from a corner. Laurie Marris making her 100th appearance for the club doubling the score late in the 1st half to see Sherrardswood leading 2-0 at half-time. Evergreen with a great start to the 2nd half, pulling a goal back Louise Popkin scoring straight from a corner then going on to equalise and take a 3-2 lead with two strikes from outside the box captain Rebecca Freeman with both goals. Some aggressive play throughout just before the final whistle Evergreen having a Gemma Arnett sent off and their captain sin binned, Sherrardswood popping up with an 88th minute equaliser with Charley Lebetkin getting her first goal in the 88th minute to send the game into extra-time. Evergreen going down to 8 players with Freeman red carded from the sin bin. Laura Cousins also making her 100th appearance for Sherrardswood scoring in the first half of extra-time to put the host side 4-3 up. Evergreen battling coming back to level it at 4-4 with Popkin getting her 2nd of the match. Sherrardswood with the number advantage quickly retaking the lead Cousins with a quick fire brace to make it an extra-time hat-trick, Lebetkin with her 2nd sealing an eventful 7-4 win.

  Two all Beds & Herts Division One ties played in the 2nd Round of the Challenge Cup this Sunday, good starts to the season for both Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies leading the table with a 100% winning start and St Albans Ladies. Met just a fortnight ago in the league Hemel Hempstead winning 3-1 at St Albans. The host side this time around Cally Salter putting St Albans into the lead midway through the 2nd half, with her 9th goal of the season. Hemel Hempstead equalising on the stroke of half-time Ella Mercer scoring the goal her 8th of the campaign. The hosts getting themselves in front midway through the 2nd period Natasha McConville netting her 9th goal of the season. Trailing 2-1 with the game entering the final 15 minutes St Albans battled back to level the scores Georga Knight making it 2-2. The winning goal coming 3 minutes from time, Eleanor Lovelock with her 12th strike of the season winning it for St Albans.

 A high scoring 2nd Round tie played between Garston Ladies 1st and Hartham United Ladies in the Challenge Cup at the weekend 5th and 4th in the league respectfully. Garston taking a 2-0 lead before conceding a penalty put away by Ellie Burke. A narrow lead to Garston at half-time. Janiece Allen in behind for Hartham to shoot the ball parried by the keeper straight to Sophie Mandel to sent in to level the scores. Garston in behind retaking the lead a long range clearance striking the bar coming down to be into the path of a Garston attacker to see them go 4-2 up a 5th goal making the tie save late in the game, Hartham awarded a second penalty Mandel scoring a consolation as Garston progress with a 5-3 win, 5 different goalscorers, two with their first of the season, Daniella Roberts an Megan Allaway, with Holly Jury, Sian Fisken and Danielle McMullen all celebrating a goal.

One match taking place in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two this weekend and it was a big home win for AFC Dunstable Women Blues as they move up to 2nd in the table over Langford Ladies on goal difference keeping up their 100% winning start to the season. Were taking on Bedford Ladies Development this Sunday. Nicola Hollick putting Dunstable into an early lead inside 3 minutes the tone set early Hollick adding a 2nd goal 10 minutes later. Emily Mitchell with her 10th goal of the season making it 3-0 to Dunstable with 20 minutes gone. Nicole Cameron quickly making it 4-0. A devastating burst following with 3 goals in 3 minutes, Hollick completing her hat-trick soon adding a 4th with Holly Wilks making it 7-0. Cameron with her 2nd of the match sending Dunstable into an 8-0 lead at half-time. Bianca Vassell getting amongst the goal soon after the restart to put Dunstable 9 up. A quick fire Double from Courtney McNamara and Mitchell following Vassell netting her 2nd and 18th goal overall with 30 minutes left. Hollick with her 5th of the match then Gemma Williams. Bedford getting a late consolation goal Hollick finishing where she started with the final goal of the game her 16th overall a double hat-trick the final score 15-1.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

   Biggleswade United Ladies move up to 2nd in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three winning well at home on Sunday moving ahead of Harvesters Ladies on goal difference as they lost their first game of the season after making a 100% winning start away to Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves.

  Biggleswade were hosting Bedwell Rangers Ladies on Sunday Angelica Farchechi firing them into the lead on 7 minutes. Robyn Gibbons with her first goal of the season doubling the hosts lead midway through the 1st half. Top scorer Leeanne Davison wading in with a goal her 16th of the season making it 3-0 with Karen Clarke celebrating her first goal to see Biggleswade leading 4-0 at the break. Joanne Brown wit her first goal for Bedwell pulling a goal back for the visitors early in the 2nd half. Biggleswade quickly responding t restore their 4 goal lead Jodie Molloy on target for her first goal of the season. Tashai Simms and Kayleigh Saunders netting her 11th of the season securing a 7-1 win.

  Harvester Ladies losing for the first time this season in the league new to Division Three winning their opening 5 matches were away to Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves this Sunday. Hitchin starting well Harvesters though taking the lead with their first attack Rachel King putting the ball over the line for her 7th goal of the season on 12 minutes. Hitchin coming back to level 10 minutes later, April Spang putting pressure on the defence forcing an error and capitalising to score her 9th goal of the season. Spang then firing Hitchin into the lead in the 35th minute. A narrow lead for Hitchin at half-time. A stoppage in play soon after a collision between two Harvesters players resulting in 1 sustaining two fractures of the jaw. Surgery required hope all went well and wishing the player involved all the best for a full and speedy recovery. Play resuming Hitchin getting the cushion of a 2 goal lead with 20 minutes left to play Ellie Colyer picking the ball up in midfield driving forwards and shooting from outside the box to score her first goal for the club. Hitchin winning the match 3-1 the 3 points putting them up to 4th in the table.

 Flitwick Eagles Ladies at home this Sunday in Division Three taking on Evergreen Eagles both sides with just on win so far this season. Sammy Rhiann Beharry putting Flitwick into the lead inside a minute. This weekend saw the Beds & Herts Women’s League Cup 2nd Round being played 8 ties drawn 6 played with Hitchin Town Ladies and Garston Ladies 1st team progressing awarded away wins. Some big wins along with a couple of upsets.

Division One leaders Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies the current League Cup holders away to Hitchin Belles bottom of the table in the 2nd Round. Hitchin Belles up against it short on numbers Hemel Hempstead in good form at the start of the season, goals from Ella Mercer, Natasha McConville and Anna Wooldridge seeing the visitors leading 3-0 at the break, Hemel Hempstead with 2 quick goals at the start of the 2nd half to go 5 up, Mercer with her 2nd and Jessica Green. Charlene Turturici-Clarke adding a further 2 goals. Hitchin Belles scoring a late consolation goal with Amy Jack on target. Hemel Hempstead safely through to the quarter finals.

Also progressing with a comfortable win were St Albans Ladies the Division One side Hemel Hempstead’s opponents in last season’s League Cup final. At home in the 2nd Round playing Division Two side Sherrardswood Ladies.Eleanor Lovelock with a quick fire brace plus a first goal for Grainne Kellett seeing St Albans leading 3-0, Lovelock going on to complete a 1st half hat-trick in the final minute of the half. St Albans going on to score more goals in the 2nd period early goals for Lovelock then Sophie Hull putting them 6-0 up. Lovelock going on to score a 5th goal in the match before Chloe Hazell fired in her first of the season. Molly Slade and Cally Salter both on the scoresheet with a goal apiece, Georga Knight with her first goal Kellett with her 2nd of the game seeing St Albans win 12-0.

The top 5 sides in Division One all safely through to the quarter finals of the league cup, Hartham United Ladies in 4th playing away to Division Two side Evergreen Ladies in the 2nd Round on Sunday. Janiece Allen a potent threat in front of goal rattling them in for Hartham United so far this season opening the scoring on Sunday going on to complete another hat-trick her 3rd in 3 matches. Allen on target too for Hartham United’s 4th goal and just to add variety Mandy Mercer with a back heeled goal sealing a 5-0 victory.

One Division One side exited the League Cup at the 2nd Round stage are Royston Town Ladies Development after they were beaten at home by Division Three side Biggleswade United Ladies on Sunday. Leeanne Davison with her 15th goal of the season scoring in the 1st half for Biggleswade. Jade Finch with a goal for Royston. Biggleswade scoring twice in the final 10 minutes to win the game and progress in the competition. Angelica Fachechi with a goal in the 81st minute, Zoe Molloy making it 3-1 in the closing minute of the match.

Garston Ladies Vintage Purples from Division Two at home to Division Three leaders Harts Vipers in the 2nd Round of the League Cup on Sunday the hosts knowing they would be facing a tough opponent before kick-off. Herts Vipers scoring plenty of goals this season. Garston looking to keep it tight at the back early on Harts Vipers struck from distance to score in the 13th minute Kesley Millen putting them into the lead. Top scorer Nicole Jancey trying her luck from range making it 2-0 with half an hour gone. Garston pulling a goal back late in the 1st half, the keeper parrying the ball into Ainhoa Beascoechea’s feet the striker lifting it over her the ball bundled in by Caroline Tenebaum. Herts Vipers leading 2-1 at half-time. Jancey extending their lead early in the 2nd half going on to complete yet another hat-trick has 28 goals now from 8 appearances. Rebecca Edge scoring to make it 5-1 to Herts Vipers with 15 minutes left to see them knock out higher league opposition to advance into the quarter finals.

Completing the quarter final line-up are AFC Dunstable Women Blues from Division Two, hosts this Sunday to Division Three side Kempston Rovers Ladies in the 2nd Round. Kempston Rovers doing well in their league knowing they were in for a stern test Dunstable another side amongst the goals this season. Nicola Hollick scoring a brae moving into double figure for the season for Dunstable. Five more players on target for a goal each as Dunstable ran out 7-0 winners. Top scorer Bianca Vassell taking her tally so far to 16. Emily Mitchell with her 9th of the campaign with Courtney McNamara, Laura Brooker and Gemma Williams also on the scoresheet.

AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies moving 3 points clear at the top of the table over fellow promoted side Langford Ladies as they recorded a 5th straight win to keep their 100% record intact at the beginning of the season away to bottom side Wheathampstead Wanderers Ladies. Zara Garrard registering her 1st goals of the season getting off the mark with a hat-trick. The visitors winning the game 7-0 with 4 more players all celebrating a goal each, Rachael Mumford, Natasha Wing, Danielle Cherry & Chloe Urbanowicz. 

Langford Ladies setting the early pace in Division Two following promotion winning 4 in a row to start the season. Began with a 1-0 at home to fellow promoted side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses. Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses not in league action again until the end of October have since gone on to win back to back games. The pair meeting again in the reverse fixture this weekend with Langford the visitors. A close match between the sides a single goal once again settling it coming late in the match, Woburn & Wavendon crediting Holly Venn with the goal that sees them make it 3 straight wins to close the gap on the leading sides and end Langford’s 100% winning start in the process.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Two games played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this weekend too. The top four involved in the League Cup, Bedwell Rangers Ladies were at home taking on 5th placed Stotfold Juniors Ladies who had won their last 3 league games to climb above them in the table. Bedwell Rangers picking up some good results this season notching up another this weekend a convincing result too as they ran out 9-1 winners to move above Stotfold into 5th place in the Division Three table themselves. Rachel Young finding the back of the net for 5 goals to take her onto 8 for the season, Jessica Sullivan not far behind as she scored 4 in the match. 

Also climbing above Stotfold in the table are Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves as they beat bottom side Buntingford Town Ladies at home on Sunday in Division Three. April Spang opening the scoring on 16 minutes with her 6th goal of the season. Sophie Clarke with a brace her first goals of the season helping Hitchin Town to a 3-0 lead at half-time. Spang going on to score twice more either end of the 2nd half to complete her hat-trick.

The top two meeting in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One this weekend with defending champions Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies 6 points clear of St Albans Ladies who have two games in hand both defending a 100% winning record at the start of the season 6 from 6 for Hemel Hempstead. Amy Bentall firing in the opening goal for the league leader midway through the 1st half with her 5th goal of the season. Bianca Hedgecock making it 2-0 a minute before half-time with her 14th goal of the season. St Albans not taking their chances came close striking the crossbar and post pulling it back to 2-1 with 10 minutes left Eleanor Lovelock with a lobbed header over the keeper to get her 6th goal of the season, Hemel Hempstead restoring their 2 goal cushion 3 minutes before the end Natasha McConville with her 7th goal of the campaign. Hemel Hempstead going 8 points clear at the top.

Their first loss of the season see’s St Albans drop to 3rd place in the Division One table overhauled by Hitchin Town Ladies moving 2nd after they came out on top in the first Hitchin derby of the season away to Hitchin Belles this Sunday. Hitchin Belles still looking for their first points following promotion as Division Two champions it was Hitchin Town who held the narrow advantage at the break taking the lead in the 19th minute Holly Darling put through on goal to make it 1-0. Hitchin Belles creating chances it was Hitchin Town who doubled their lead on the hour Darling sliding in to beat the advancing keeper for the ball and send it in to claim her 2nd of the match. Lauren Wyatt with a tap in putting Hitchin Town 3-0 with 15 minutes left to play a 4th goal coming deep in stoppage time Lucy Huffer’s ball fired into the box deflected into the back of the net for an own goal.

Elsewhere in Division One the points were shared between Hartham United Ladies and Garston Ladies. Garston hosting 5th in the table Hartham United in 4th pushing for the top three. A hard fought game Garston creating opportunities in the first half scoring 4 goals, Hartham United matching that total to see the points shared in a competitive 4-4 draw. Janiece Allen taking her tally to 9 goals for the season for Hartham United scoring a hat-trick. Sophie Mandel also on target scoring her 4th. Cassandra Chase with her first goal for Garston, with 3 players all getting their 3rd goals of the season, a penalty from Chloe Farrell, with Holly Jury and Charley Kesley also scoring.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies took full advantage of league leaders Langford Ladies not playing this Sunday to join them on 12 points at the top of the Division Two table as they made it 4 wins from 4 to match them for the season. There 100% winning start continuing at home as they took on Watton Ladies. First goals for Sarah Fuller and Natasha Wing seeing Kempston edge the victory by 2 goals to 1 at the final whistle. Jodie Shackell with the goal for Watton her first for the club.

A first win of the season for Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses last weekend playing catch up in the league winning 9-0 in just their 2nd league game. Were at home to high flying Garston Ladies Vintage Purples this weekend. Garston feeling a little worse for wear up against another of the newly promoted teams, did well to limit their chances coming closest to opening the scoring first half Emma Trill seeing her shot touched onto the post by the opposing keeper. The visitors creating chances 2nd half, Woburn & Wavendon getting the only goal of the match 4 minutes from time a corner won headed in at the back post by Laura Taylor for her first goal of the season, enough to win the 3 points lift Woburn & Wavendon up to 5th in the table.

A 2nd win of the season too for Sherrardswood Ladies on Sunday as they travelled to play Bedford Ladies Development. The visitors taking an early lead Michaela Green scoring 2 minute into her Sherrardswood debut lobbing the keeper to make it 1-0. Sherrardswood going on to dominate the first half unable to extend their lead, Bedford coming back to level the scores before half-time Alicja Olszanka on target for her 6th goal of the season. A positive start to the 2nd half for Sherrardswood, Bedford’s keeper with a couple of saves, the visiting side retaking the lead on the hour Francesca Novelli striking from outside the box to find the back of the net for her first goal of the season. Both sides with chances after that, Sherrardswood making the 3 points safe in the final 5 minutes Manjinder Atwal onto the end of a cross to make it 3-1.

The points shared in the final match to bring you in Division Two, Evergreen Ladies playing bottom side Wheathampstead Wanderers Ladies. A tough start to the season for both Evergreen with their first win of the season last weekend looking to build on that result. Another side feeling worse for the wear they conceded an early goal just the 2nd Wheathampstead have managed so far this season. Evergreen pushed hard for a reply Wheathampstead holding out to lead 1-0 at the break. The equalising coming late in the 2nd half Leane Pickett coming of the bench to score.

Herts Vipers and Harvesters Ladies neck and neck at the top of Division Three with 5 wins from 5 each, Harvesters not playing this Sunday saw an opportunity for Herts Vipers to go 3 points clear at the top as they looking to continue their 100% winning start playing Flitwick Eagles Ladies for the 2nd successive weekend. 10-0 to Herts Vipers last time out unfortunately for Flitwick it was more of the same, Herts Vipers young side full of goals Flitwick held out for half an hour then the floodgates opened with a flurry of goals to end the first half. Top scorer Nicole Jancey with a rapid fire hat-trick had 5 to her name before the break, Chloe Underwood also scoring first half would go on to make it a hat-trick herself in the 2nd period giving her 4 goals from just two appearances. Jancey scoring a 6th goal to put her on 25 goals already this season from just 7 games. Ellie Bates making her 2nd appearance of the season opening her account for Herts Vipers with a goal. Annalie Wood and Kelsey Millen also getting a goal a piece the final score 13-0.

A high scoring win too on Sunday away from home for 4th placed Biggleswade United Ladies in Division Three taking on Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves. A strong first half seeing Biggleswade race into a 7-0 lead top scorer Leeanne Davison opening the scoring on target to make it 1-0 inside the opening 5 minutes, Kayleigh Saunders quickly making it 2-0, Davison getting another to put Biggleswade 3 up inside the opening quarter hour. Saunders going to to complete a hat-trick plus a 4th before half-time to give her 10 goals for the season. Angelica Fachechi with a goal too late in the 1st period. Davison scoring 2 more 2nd half to put her on 14 goals for the season, Biggleswade leading 9-0 a late consolation goal coming for Hitchin Town, their goalkeeper Zoe Nemeth scoring the goal. A free-kick won outside the box the initial strike hitting the wall deflected back to Nemeth hit it first time sending the ball high looping down under the crossbar and bouncing over the line. Stotfold Juniors Ladies are up to 5th in the Division Three table now as they continued their fine run of form at home to Whetstone Wanderers Ladies on Sunday. 10 points now won from their last 4 matches a 3rd win in that run coming this weekend against Whetstone Wanderers still looking for their first points since joining the league. Stotfold Juniors leading 2-0 at half-time going on to win the match 5-0. Chloe Ward scoring her 7th goal of the season for Stotfold their were goals too for Gemma Robertson and Georgina Yates plus first goals of the season for Holly Konopka and Hope Page.

  Bedwell Rangers Ladies were away this Sunday taking on 3rd placed Kempston Rovers Ladies who had made an great start to the season winning 4 of their opening 5 league games. Maisie Main doubling the lead for the visiting side firing Bedwell Rangers into a 2 goal lead from the penalty spot. Kempston Rovers getting it back to 2-1. Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies continue their 100% winning start to the season in the defence on the league title they won last season in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One. six wins from six now to keep them 6 points clear at the top. Were at home playing Houghton Athletic Ladies this Sunday a flurry of goals late in the first half seeing Hemel Hempstead win the game. Top scorer Bianca Hedgecock with a 3 minute brace on 37 & 40 minutes putting Hemel Hempstead 2-0 up. Amy Bentall making it 3-0 with her 3rd goal of the season on the stroke of half-time. No more goals added in the 2nd period Hemel Hempstead moving onto 18 points.

  Keeping up their own 100% winning start to the league in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One are St Albans Ladies, in 2nd spot made it four wins from 4 in the league to date taking maximum points, 2 games in hand of Hemel Hempstead and have yet to concede a goal in the league. St Albans winning on the road this Sunday taking on Letchworth Garden City Eagles. Two quick fire goals from Eleanor Lovelock in the 11th minute and Kayla Johnson just 2 minutes later putting St Albans into the lead two more quick goals following to see the visitors 4-0 to the good inside 23 minutes, Johnson with her 2nd of the game and a 1st goal of the season coming for Kerry Twigg. The contest behind the leading pair also hotting up with Hitchin Town Ladies in 3rd and Hartham United Ladies in 4th level on 10 points a piece winning at the weekend. Hitchin Town Ladies at home to fellow promoted side Royston Town Women Development this Sunday. The sides playing the reverse fixture from the opening day of the season, Hitchin Town making a great start to the season beating Royston 6-1. 7 points won in their opening 3 league matches lost to Garston Ladies 1st at the end of September. A win and a loss in cup competitions since Hitchin got back to winning ways in the league this weekend albeit the 3 points won by a much closer scoreline. An even contest Hitchin taking the lead on the half hour Bethany-ann Spavins seeing her shot creep over the line. Scrappy at times Hitchin put under pressure by Royston as they sought to find a reply both sides seeing a goal disallowed the single goal enough in the end of Hitching to collect the 3 points.

Hartham United Ladies taking on Hitchin Belles for the 2nd successive match won 4-0 away from home in the Hertfordshire Women’s Challenge Cup last weekend, at home this weekend facing each other in the league. Hartham United aiming for a 3rd successive win a brace from Janiece Allen seeing Hartham United go 2-0 in the 1st half. Kiera Hines pulling it back to 2-1 for Hitchin Belles on the stroke of half-time. Emily Field with her 4th goal of the season. Hartham United extending their lead just past the hour Katherine Calvert on target for her first goal of the season would go on to add a 2nd in the final 15 minutes. In between Calvert’s brace there was another goal for Allen to complete her hat-trick her 6th goal of the season. Hartham United winning the match 5-1.

Leaders Langford Ladies not in action this Sunday there was an opportunity for 2nd placed Garston Ladies Vintage Purples to go top should they win the 3 points at home to 3rd placed AFC Dunstable Women Blues. 2 wins from 2 so far for Dunstable in good form scoring plenty of goals following promotion as Division Three champions. The visitors opening the scoring inside 10 minutes Nicola Hollick with her 7th goal of the season to make it 1-0. Garston getting back on level terms midway through the first half winning a corner, the ball half cleared by Dunstable, Samantha Roads volleying it back in form 25 yards out the keeper not holding onto the ball Ainhoa Beascoechea on the follow up sliding the ball in. All square at the break Dunstable restoring their lead 7 minutes into the 2nd half Holly Wilks scoring her 4th goal of the season to make it 2-1. Top scorer Bianca Vassell scoring for the 15th time this season on the hour to put the visitors 3-1 up. Hollick adding her 2nd of the game in the final 10 minutes to see Dunstable to a 4-1 win and close the gap to 2nd placed Garston to a point.

Matching Dunstable’s league form with 3 straight wins to start the season are fellow promoted side AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies. Away to Bedford Ladies Development this Sunday in Division Two. A close game seeing 5 goals scored, Remi Bains getting two goals for Bedford taking her to 5 for the season. Wasn’t enough for the hosts to take anything from the game however as Kempston & Bedford edged them out 3-2 with 3 players all getting off the mark for the season, Danielle Cherry, Rachael Mumford and Nicole Raffermati.

Also promoted from Division Three last season were Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses just the one league game played prior to this Sunday had started with a 1-0 loss to Langford. A long spell without a game since one cup fixture played and lost on penalties were back in league action this Sunday and got off the mark with a high scoring victory away to Wheathampstead Wanderers Ladies. Giselle Randall scoring plenty of goals for Woburn & Wavendon last season on target to finish 4 goals at the weekend. Amelia Glean scoring a brace one from the penalty spot, there was a brace too for Holly Venn opening her account, with a first Woburn & Wavendon goal too for Georgia-Rose Edwards in a comfortable 9-0 win.

A first competitive victory of the season coming for Evergreen Ladies last Sunday at home in the Hertfordshire Women’s Challenge Cup beating fellow Division Two side Watton Ladies 2-1. The pair were meeting again this Sunday in the league Evergreen travelling to play Watton. The pair goalless at the break it was Evergreen who opening the scoring early in the 2nd period with Natalie Maher getting off the mark for the season. Rebecca Freeman doubling the scoreline in the 70th minute to help seal the first league victory of the season for Evergreen.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

A break from the league last weekend for both Herts Vipers and Harvesters Ladies allowing them to be caught by Kempston Rovers Ladies it was the latter’s turn to sit out this weekend as both Herts Vipers and Harvesters won at home convicingly to keep up their 100% winning starts. 5 wins from 5 for both. Herts Vipers were at home taking on Flitwick Eagles Ladies. Chloe Underwood making her first appearance of the season for Herts Vipers getting them off to a perfect start opening the scoring 5 minutes into her debut. Annalie Wood scoring to make it 2-0 just a minute later. A flurry of goals coming for the hosts late in the first half, top scorer Nicole Jancey with a quickfire double, Selin Buyukgiray also scoring two quick goals late in the half to see Harts Vipers leading 6-0. Piper Wright scoring her first goal of the season putting the hosts 7-0 up early in the 2nd half. Jancey completing her hat-trick on the hour adding a 4th to make it 9-0 with her 19th goal of the campaign. Kelsey Millen scoring with 6 minutes left to make it a double figure win for Herts Vipers.

Harvesters Ladies also at home at the weekend taking on Buntingford Town Ladies. Rachel King bagging herself a brace for Harvesters to take her onto 6 goals for the season. Also moving onto 6 goals for the season is Eve Shaw celebrating a goal. Molly O’Neill and Eleanor Keating also getting on the scoresheet with a goal a piece as Harvesters ran out 5-0 winners.

Lastly in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three at the weekend Stotfold Juniors Ladies were at home to Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves. Stotfold coming into the game with back to back wins in the league were short on numbers despite that did well to hold Hitchin Town to a goalless scoreline at half-time. Stotfold going on to open the scoring in the 2nd period Chloe Ward scoring the goal on 53 minutes her 6th of the season. Hitchin Town coming back to score an equaliser in the final 15 minutes to earn a share of the points with Megan Franklin scoring her first goal of the season.

Garston beating Hemel Hempstead last season coming into the game in good form themselves with back to back wins 7 points in total from their last 3 games. Proved to be a cracking game that saw 9 goals scored. Holly Jury netting a brace for Garston to open her account for the season with Charley Kelsey also finding the back of the net for a goal. 3 for the visitors defending champions Hemel Hempstead putting 6 past them at the other end to collect the 3 points. 6 different goalscorers for the hosts Lizzie Richardson opening the scoring Ella Mercer, Jessica Green and Charlene Turturici-Clarke all adding to the goals tally before half-time. Taking on Houghton Athletic Ladies benefited from thier 1st teams FA Cup game away to Ipswich Town Women getting called off due to the heavy rainfall. Able to call upon the services of striker Joanne Rutherford who netted a brace in the match their were goals too for Samantha Edgar and Jazmin Racher in a 4-1 win. Emily Watson scoring for Houghton Athletic.

Garston Ladies Vintage Purples leading the Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two table going into the weekend were away to AFC Kempston & Bedford College Ladies. An unbeaten start to the season for Garston as they look to bounce back to Division One at the first attempt. Kempston & Bedford with 1 win so far this season seeing an injury to one of their players lead to last weekends game against AFC Dunstable Blues. A close contest between the pair a goal conceded late in the game enough to see the 3 points won going the way of the visitors, Haleena Gill making her first appearance for Kempston & Bedford scoring on her debut to see them continue their 100% winning start, Garston losing their unbeaten record.

That result sees new leaders in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two with Langford Ladies taking over at the top continuing their impressive start to the season the newly promoted side making it 4 wins from 4. At home this Sunday taking on Evergreen Ladies. Langford emerging 4-2 victors with Rebecca Reeve on target for a brace. Amber Clark scoring too with her 7th of the season with Sophie Bounds also on the scoresheet with her first of the season. Rebecca Freeman and Hollie Holden with their first goals for the campaign for Evergreen Ladies. 

Having forfeited their opening two league matches of the season Bedford Ladies Development were in league action for the first time this season as they played host to Wheathampstead Wanderers Ladies in Division Two this Sunday. Alicja Olszanska scoring her first Bedford goal hitting 4 past the keeper with Charlotte Demmon getting a goal too in a comfortable 5-1 win, her first of the season too.

  For the 2nd weekend in a row AFC Dunstable Ladies Blues saw a match abandoned due to injury to an opposition player. Were taking on Sherrardswood Ladies the visitors leading in the match with Rhiana Rose lobbing the keeper to put them 1 up. On 67th minutes however Sherrardswood goalkeeper Shayna Godin was hurt in a collision with a Dunstable forward a wait for an ambulance the match abandoned. Glad to report Shayna Godin is Okay and wish her a speedy recovery.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

New sides Harvesters Ladies and Herts Vipers Women both making a 100% winning start to the season, Harvesters leading the way with 4 wins from 4, Herts Vipers one behind winning their opening 3 games. With Harvesters sitting out this weekends games Herts Vipers knew a positive result would see them overhaul them at the top of the Division Three table. At home were taking on Buntingford Town Ladies themselves losing their opening 3 games. Herts Vipers proving a strong side early on scoring plenty of goals so to again this Sunday as they rattled in a double figure win. Selin Burukgiray making her first appearance for Herts Vipers this season enjoying her debut in women’s football celebrating 5 goals including a 1st half hat-trick. Top scorer Nicole Jancey also celebrating a hat-trick to move onto 14 for the season. 5 more players on the scoresheet in a 13-0 win with Tazmin Symonds Bishop, Kelsey Millen and Amy Jo Hebborn all opening their accounts with Rebecca Edge and Lucy Sende also getting their names on the scoresheet. 

A big win too for Biggleswade United Ladies 3rd in the Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three table away to Flitwick Eagles Ladies on Sunday. The visitors with a strong start to the game scoring 4 goals a flurry in the 2nd half adding a further 8 goals to see Biggleswade finish on 12 without reply, 4 goals each for Leeanne Davison and Kayleigh Saunders her first goals for Biggleswade. Tashai Simms also collecting her first Biggleswade goals netting a brace in the game with Zoe Molloy also scoring two. Biggleswade winning 3 out of their 4 opening league matches 3 points back from the leading pair. 

A similar record to start the season too for Kempston Rovers Ladies also on 9 points winning 3 of their opening 4 matches in Division Three. On the road this weekend taking on Evergreen Eagles. Ellie Newberry-Bierton scoring her first ever hat-trick for Kempston Rovers their were goals too for Zoe Trinder her 5th of the season and a first Kempston Rovers goal for Hoffi Pursey. Kempston Rovers coming away with a 5-1 win to remain well placed on the table.

  A meeting between 5th ad 6th at the weekend as Bedwell Rangers Ladies hosted Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves. A encouraging start to the season for Bedwell Rangers winning 2 of their opening 4 games, Hitchin Town likewise with 6 points on the board awarded one win getting their first competitively last weekend. Meeting this weekend it was Bedwell Rangers with the early lead awarded a free-kick 25 yards out inside the opening 5 minute Maisie Main sending the ball over the keeper to make it 1-0. Hitchin Town looking for a reply an effort ruled out for offside tailing 1-0 at the break the visitors coming back to level early in the 2nd period, April Spang sending the ball home from a tight angle to equalise, both disappointed in the finish to take a share of the points.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies maintain their 3 point lead at the top of Beds & Herts Women’s Division One, the defending champions made to work for the win coming up against Hartham United Ladies on Sunday. A close game settled by a single goal. Hemel Hempstead taking the lead with half a hour played Ella Mercer scoring what would prove to be the winner to keep Hemel Hempstead’s 100% record in tact.

  St Albans Ladies 2nd in the Division One table also with a 100% record from 4 played, last weekend involved in the Women’s FA Cup picking up a great result winning away to higher league opposition were back in league action this Sunday looking to make it 3 from 3 in the league. At home were taking on newly promoted Royston Town Women Development. proved tough opponents St Albans taking the lead in the 34th minute Jessica McNamara rounding the keeper to tap home. 1-0 the advantage at half-time the hosts doubling their lead early in the 2nd half. Cally Salter getting onto the end of a Molly Slade free-kick. 20 minutes to go and St Albans scored 3 quick goals to make the game secure Slade with a two minute brace, Cally Salter sandwiching her 2nd of the game in between. 5-0 up Slade went of to score her 1st ever hat-trick for St Albans to see the game won 6-0.

   Momentum for Garston Ladies as they climb to 4th in the Beds & Herts Women’s Division One table winning 7 points from their last 3 matches after a heavy loss on the opening day of the season. At home this Sunday making it back to back wins against Hitchin Town Ladies in the process bringing the newly promoted sides unbeaten start to an end. A blistering start from Garston leading in the 4th minute were 2 to the good just a minute later a 3rd goal coming before 10 minutes wee on the clock, Hitchin rallied pulling a goal back before half-time Bethany Spavins set up to score her first goal. Lucy Huffer on target with her first goal of the season scoring a 25 yard free-kick the bring it back to 3-2 7 minutes into the 2nd half. Garston coming back to restore their 2 goal lead 5 minutes later going on to win the game 4-2 their goals scored by Sian Fisken, Ruby Jager, Danielle McMullan and Leah Crockett with her first of the season.

    Houghton Athletic Ladies recording their 1st league win of the season this Sunday away to last season’s Division Two champions Hitchin Belles. Houghton Athletic with a strong first half taking a 5-0 lead into the dressing room. A brace for last season’s top scorer Emily Wilson, a brace to for Sophia Lee her first for the club along with a goal for Ciara Craig on her first appearance of the campaign. A tough start to the season for Hitchin Belles losing their opening 3 fixtures, pulled two goals back in the 2nd period with Keira How and Gemma Smith on the scoresheet. Houghton winning 5-2.

  A frustrating start to the season for Northwood Ladies a draw and narrow loss to Hemel Hempstead last weekend to start the season were away to newly promoted Letchworth Garden City Eagles Ladies this Sunday. An 11-0 defeat to Hemel Hempstead to open their campaign. A point earned this weekend as they held Northwood to a 3-3 draw. Tayla Murray, Kin Franklin and Katie Smith scoring Letchworth’s first goals of the season. Samantha May and Zamina Rehemtulla off the mark with a goal each for Northwood with Emma Steele also on the scoresheet.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

  Two matches completed in Beds & Women’s Division Two this Sunday. Garston Ladies Reserves (Vintage Purples) as they are known on Twitter continuing their unbeaten start to the season to maintain the lead. Back to back wins the 3 points collected on the road this weekend up against Evergreen Ladies who lost heavily in their opening league fixture. Yasmin Sabri scoring a brace for the visitors with Emma Trill also finding the back of the net for a goal in a 3-0 away win.

  Newly promoted side Langford Ladies continuing their excellent start to the season in Division Two a 100% winning start 3 from 3 now as they won comfortably away from home on Sunday to climb up to 2nd in the table a point behind Garston. Were playing Wheathampstead Wanderers Ladies. Amber Clarke striking home a hat-trick to double her goals tally for the season. Rebecca Reeve getting on the scoresheet too with her first goals of the season netting a brace. Tabitha and Ayesha Brown with a goal each the latter’s first of the campaign. 

  The clash between newly promoted sides AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies and AFC Dunstable Blues abandoned due to an nasty injury to a Kempston Town player. Wishing her all the best for a speedy recovery. Watton Ladies awarded a home win against Bedford Ladies Development.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Harvesters Ladies continue to lead the way in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three making it 4 wins from 4 at the weekend but they were run very close by hosts Kempston Rovers Ladies who came close to earning a point their winning start coming to an end as they fall to a 3-2 defeat. Eve Shaw with her 5th of the season scoring for Harvesters along with Sian Appleyard and a first of the season for Molly O’Neill. Sabrina Stramaglia and Zoe Trinder the goalscorers for Kempston Rovers who stay 3rd on goal difference with a clutch of sides now having 6 points. 

  Herts Vipers keep up the pressure on leaders Harvesters Ladies winning their 3rd game of the season to maintain their 100% winning start. Weren’t at their best hosting Biggleswade United Ladies. The sides drawing 1-1 at half-time Lois Ruane scoring for Herts Vipers. A good start to the 2nd half for the hosts Nicole Jancey firing them into a 2-1 lead with her 11th of the season Lucy Sende on target to put Herts Vipers 3-1 ahead with her first goal. Biggleswade coming straight back to make it 3-2. Herts Vipers preventing their opponents for finding another to win the 3 points.

Moving up to 5th in the Division Three table joining Kempston Rovers and Biggleswade are Bedwell Rangers ladies winning their 2nd game of the season at home to Evergreen Eagles playing their first game of the season.  Rachel Young scoring a brace for Bedwell Rangers with Freya Rampley, Georgia Miller and Danielle Cook all on target wit a goal a piece in a 5-0 result.

  Joining the pack on 6th points in 6th spot are Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves winning their first competitive game under their new banner. Their previous 3 points awarded as a home win. Were at home this Sunday taking on newcomers Whetstone Wanderers Ladies. A brace for April Spang in the 1st half scoring Hitchin Town Reserves first goals Spang adding a 3rd to complete a hat-trick with 12 minutes left. Megan White-Benton also celebrating a goal for Hitchin in the final 5 minutes to see the game won 4-2. Whetstone Wanderers still searching for their first league points losing their opening 4 games Jessica Marshall and Hailey Peters with their first goals of the season.

 Also celebrating their first win of the season are Stotfold Juniors Ladies, haven’t played in the league since the opening day of the season losing 8-4 to Biggleswade. Were at home to new side Flitwick Eagles Ladies this Sunday a close first half between the sides Stotfold with a narrow lead, a completely different story 2nd half as the hosts ran out comfortable 10-2 winners. Chloe Ward scoring early in the first half completing a hat-trick late in the 2nd period. Also claiming a 2nd half hat-trick was Georgia Dollman. Gemma Robertson with a brace there were goals too for Georgia Yates and Becky Charter. Anna Bright scoring in the 12th minute for Flitwick, Brittany Holdsworth with their 2nd in the 89th minute.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

A strong start to the season in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One for Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies beginning the defence of their title winning their opening two fixtures scoring 19 goals. Were at home this Sunday taking on a potential challenger to their title Northwood ladies who had begun their season with a 2-2 draw away to newly promoted Hitchin Town Ladies last weekend. Proved to be a close game with a single goal settling the match Natasha McConville firing Hemel Hempstead into a 24th minute lead. A narrow advantage Hemel Hempstead forced to defend it with 10 players for the final 25 minutes as McConville was sent off. Despite the player disadvantage Hemel Hempstead held out to secure the result.

  Hitchin Town Ladies making a fantastic start to the season on their return to Beds & Herts Women’s Division One. 4 points from their opening two fixtures including last weekend’s 2-2 draw at away to Northwood were at home for the first time this weekend taking on Hartham United Ladies. Georgia Quinton firing in a strike on the half volley to score her first Hartham goal putting the visitors into the lead. Hitchin Town coming back to level the scores just past the half hour, Natalie Thompson getting her head onto captain Emma Chaffey’s corner to make it 1-1. All square at the break both keepers playing their part, Hitchin Town edged it in the 2nd period taking the lead on the hour with Samantha Coughlan through 1 v 1 with the keeper to make it 2-1 and take full of St Albans Ladies heroics in the Women’s FA Cup to climb into 2nd spot in the table with 7 points.

  Winning their first point of the season last weekend Garston Ladies travelled to play Royston Town Women Development this Sunday who themselves had secured their first point of the campaign following promotion drawing 1-1 with Hartham United Ladies last time out. Goals from Lydia Webb and a penalty scored by Ellie Wilkerson seeing Royston drawing 2-2 with Garston the visitors scoring a winning goal from a free-kick out wide looping over the keeper to secure their 1st 3 point haul of the season. Hayley Carr, Sian Fishen and Ruby Jager all celebrating their first goals of the season for Garston.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

In Bianca Vassell, AFC Dunstable Women Blues have a formidable attacker, 34 goals scored last season in their debut season on their way to winning the Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three title. Has 11 already from 3 played in league and cup. A 10-2 win to start their league campaign this term were at home this weekend taking on Evergreen Ladies who were playing their first game of the season. Proved to be a harsh opening. Vassell scoring 4 goals she isn’t the only goalscorer in Dunstable’s line-up Emily Mitchell with a hat-trick to taking her to 8 for the season. Nicola Hollick with her fair share of goals last season also netting a hat-trick on Sunday one from the penalty spot. Gemma Williams and Nicole Cameron celebrating their 1st Dunstable goals with Kerry Mulvihill-Reed and Holly Wilks also scoring in a 14-0 win.

Garston Ladies Vintage Purples (Reserves) topping the table as they won at home on Sunday against Wheathampstead Wanderers Ladies on Sunday. Awarded an opening day win drew away to Watton ladies last time out. First goals of the season from Jane Hales, Emma Trill and Yasmin Sabri seeing them win their 1st 3 points of the season to keep a point clear at the top of Division Two.

   Two wins from two to start the season for newly promoted Langford Ladies. Clinching a 1-0 win over fellow promoted side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses on the opening day continued with a win in the county cup last weekend. At home again this Sunday taking on Watton Ladies. Amber Clark top scorer for Langford last season scoring in her 3rd successive match there were first goals of the season too for Pearl Houghton and Leah Holmes in a 3-0 victory. Langford 3rd in the table.

  AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies are also promoted to Beds & Herts Women’s Two this season. Making their league bow this weekend were away to Sherrardswood Ladies. Chloe Urbanowicz amongst the goals early last season for Kempston she opened her account with a brace this Sunday so to two goals for Bex Cray with Charlie Mullins also finding the back of the net for a goal in a comfortable 5-0 win to start the season.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Three matches taking place in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this weekend. Harvesters Ladies topping the table making a perfect start to the league since joining this season making it 3 wins from 3. Were at home to Bedwell Rangers Ladies this Sunday who were coming into the match off the back of a confidence boosting first win of the season 8-1 away to Buntingford Town Ladies last time out. Ran Harvesters close narrowly missing out in a 3-2 defeat. Isobel Hughes putting the ball home for two goals for Harvesters with Rachel King also on target for her 4th goal of the season.

 A trio of sides all on 6 points behind Harvesters with 2 wins from 2 on the board. A 9-0 win at home to mark their Beds & Herts Women’s league debut Herts Vipers went one goal better this weekend reaching double figures at home to Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves. A goal inside the opening minute for Nicole Jancey with Rosie Langston opening her account just a minute later setting Herts Vipers on their way. Jancey going on to complete a first half hat-trick with Annalie Wood also scoring in the 1st period to see the hosts 5-0 up. A further five goals added in the 2nd half Jancey with her 4th 2 minutes after the restart. Rachel Wall and Rebecca Scott getting their first goals of the season, Jancey with a her 2nd 5 goal haul in just two matches adding Herts 9th with 10 minutes left Langston with her 2nd of the game seeing harts Vipers win 10-0.

  Two wins from two also for Kempston Rovers Ladies 6 points from their opening two league games a perfect start victory coming at home to Flitwick Eagles Ladies on Sunday. Leading 3-1 at half-time Kempston matching their opening day goals tally to win the game 5-1 in the 2nd half. Millie Scott scoring twice on her first start for the club. Megan Burnapp also on target to score her first Kempston Rovers goal. A first of the season too for Sabrina Stramaglia with Ellie Newbury-Bierton also on the scoresheet. Kempston Rovers 3rd in the table ahead of Biggleswade United Ladies who also have 6 points awarded the 3 points for an away win against Buntingford this weekend.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

The opening weekend action comes thick and fast with leagues expanding in size the Beds & Herts Women’s Football League seeing 31 sides this season competing once again across 3 divisions. Plenty of goals scored on the opening weekend too in what has always proved to be a competitive league at all levels, sure that will prove to be the case once again this season.

  With the increase in size teams are promoted up the tables into higher leagues, 4 making the step up to Division One this season, with Royston Town Women Development and Letchworth Garden City Eagles joining last season’s Champions Hitchin Belles and runners-up Hitchin Town Ladies. Sadly we have lost Sharnbrook WFC, whilst Sherrardswood Ladies and Garston Ladies Vintage Purples are relegated. Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires become Hartham United Ladies.

  4 matches to start the season, with defending Champions Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies beginning at home to Hitchin Belles. Hemel Hempstead were strong last season and will certainly be the team to beat this time around to. Were strong in their opening fixture to win the match 8-2 with Bianca Hedgecock top scoring with 5 goals. Natasha McConville also getting on the scoresheet along with Amy Bentell and Kaila Merridan. Emily Field with both strikes for Hitchin Belles.

   Top though after the opening fixtures are St Albans Ladies as they scored 7 without reply at home to Garston Ladies (1st team) on the opening day. Formerly Garston’s 2nd XI they finished ahead of their club mates to see the sides changing names ahead of the new season with separate twitter accounts to save confusion for the likes of myself. Not the start to the new season they wanted however as St Albans were dominant 4-0 up at half-time added 3 more goals late in the match with Eleanor Lovelock netting a hat-trick. Sophie Hull opened the scoring after 10 minutes. Ellen Slater and Molly Slade both finding the back of the net with a goal each in the 1st period. Cally Salter scoring late in the match.

  Hitchin Town Ladies were involved in a fierce title race in Division Two last season with their local rivals eventually finishing 2nd, promoted began the season with a trip to fellow promoted side Royston Town Women Development. Hat-tricks for both Louise Gash and Samantha Couglan securing a 6-1 victory for Hitchin with Eve Chappell on target for the Royston goal.

  Hartham United Ladies are a new name in the league the squad largely made up of former Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires players. The new side a charity football team looking to raise money and awareness of child bereavement for the 4louis charity. Began their league campaign with a trip to play Houghton Athletic Ladies. Both sides capable of beating anyone on the day shared a close match. Hartham United securing the 3 points courtesy of a 4-2 win. Ellie Burke netting a brace their were goal celebration too for Patience Ndlovu and Sophie Mandel. Emily Watson and Shakeela Hussain opening their accounts for Houghton Athletic.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

 It was a dramatic finish to the season in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three last season with a 3 way battle for the title going all the way to the final day. AFC Dunstable Blues (Development then) clinching the title to win promotion to Division Two. AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies strong at the end promoted as runners-up also going up are Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses and Langford Ladies. 10 teams in the league, Evergreen Eagles and Welwyn Pegasus Azures (now Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves relegated)

  3 games to start the season in Division Two and as in Division One plenty of goals scored. AFC Dunstable Blues beginning the season with a home match against Watton Ladies. Bianca Vassell scoring lots of goals last season 34 in total didn’t hang around this season to open her account finding the back of the net for 4 goals. Emily Mitchell joining the side this season netting a hat-trick in her first competitive match. Goals too for Nicola Hollick and Courtney McNamara in a 10-2 win. Watton Ladies positive in the build up to the new season not making the start they would have liked.

   A difficult campaign for Sherrardswood Ladies last season finishing bottom of Beds & Herts Division One and relegated. A positive outlook to start the new season however and got off to a fantastic start at home playing Wheathampstead Wanderers Ladies on Sunday. Kristie Donovan putting the hosts into the lead on 10 minutes. A quick fire brace from Rhiana Rose 10 minutes later saw Sherrardswood leading 3-0. Rose going on to complete her hat-trick then adding another on the stroke of half-time. 5-0 up at the break two further goals were added inside the final 10 minutes with Natasha Little and Manjinder Atwal celebrating.

  Elsewhere in Division Two it was a much tighter affair between Langford Ladies and Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses as the two newly promoted sides met in their opening fixture. Amber Clark top scoring for Langford last season with 25 goals, getting the only goal of the match in the first half to secure the 3 points for the hosts.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

  50 goals scored already and we haven’t even started with Division Three! An 11 strong league this season with 4 new sides joining, Herts Vipers, Whetstone Wanderers Ladies and familiar names returning Harvesters Ladies and Flitwick Eagles Ladies. As mention before Hitchin Town Ladies were previously Welwyn Pegasus Azures. 

  Plenty of goals scored across the five fixtures taking place on the opening weekend. 3 of the new sides getting off to a fantastic start. Herts Vipers were at home taking on Bedwell Rangers Ladies. Two goals inside the opening 15 minutes from Nicole Jancey seeing Harts Vipers leading 2-0 at half-time. The hosts ran riot in the 2nd period to put 7 more goals past their opponents Jancey adding 3 more goals to her tally. There was a brace for Rebecca Edge with both Annalie Wood and Lois Ruane on target for a goal each in a 9-0 win.

 A high scoring win too at home for Flitwick Eagles Ladies on the opening day as they hosted fellow newcomers Whetstone Wanderers Ladies. Brittany Holdsworth getting her name on the scoresheet for 5 goals for Flitwick there was also a hat-trick for Anna Bright along with a goal each for Sammy Beharry and Abbie Ambrose. 10 goals for Flitwick they didn’t have it all their own way with Whetstone Wanderers breaching their defence for 3 goals themselves.

  Harvesters Ladies also new to the league recording an opening day victory at home as they took on Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves. Sian Appleyard, Rachel Dodds and Eve Shaw all claiming a goal as Harvesters ran out 3-0 winners.

   A high scoring match too between Biggleswade United Ladies and Stotfold Juniors Ladies on Sunday in their league opener. Biggleswade making some notable new addition look like they will be challenging at the top this season. A close first half though saw them trailing 2-1 at the break. Molly Norman and Becky Charter with the goals for Stotfold. A Jade Horsley goal sandwiched in between for the hosts. Biggleswade starting the 2nd half well, Leeanne Davison with 2 goals inside 5 minutes putting them 3-2 ahead. Norman scoring again for Stotfold on the hour, so too Zoe Molloy for Biggleswade the latter netting again midway through the 2nd half. 5-3 in front Norman scored her 3rd of the game to reduce the arrears for Stotfold, Biggleswade going on to win comfortably as Horsley added a brace to claim an opening day hat-trick along with one more for Davison to see her celebrating a hat-trick and an 8-4 win for Biggleswade.

  The final game to bring you saw Kempston Rovers Ladies away to Buntingford Town Ladies both beginning their 2nd season in the Beds & Herts women’s football league. A tough first season for Buntingford, Kempston Rovers improved as the season wore on and will be looking to progress further. Got off to a great start winning 5-0 to bring the 3 points home.
