Cambridgeshire – Sunday 20th November

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

Two matches in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership this Sunday featuring sides currently in the lower part of the table. Netherton United Ladies on the road away to Cambridge University Women. The visitors getting off to a great start, Emily Johnson putting them 1 nil up inside the 1st minute. Amanda Wainwright levelling the scores at 1-1 on 15 minutes wnet on to put Cambridge University 2-1 up 4 minutes later, completing a 1st half hat-trick with 10 minutes of the half left. Netheton reduced the deficit 10 minutes into the 2nd half Yasmin Green with the goal to make it 3-2. Cambridge University soon restored their 2 goal lead Sophia D’Angelo scoring the goal to make it 4-2 the final score sees Cambridge University move above Netherton into 5th place in the Premiership table.

 ICA Sports Ladies also move above their Peterborough rivals into 6th with a home win on Sunday against bottom side Bourne Ladies. Toni McHamilton netting for Bourne in the 1st half it was ICA Sports who held the advantage going into half-time leading the game 2-1 went on to score again in the 2nd half winning the match 3-1, Carmen Herridge, Zoe Leddy & Megan Rurnell with their goals.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North 

     4 sides still looking to get off the mark at the bottom of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North going into the weekend. Two of those sides met each other on Sunday bottom side Thurlby Tigers travelling to play Hungate Rovers Ladies. It was the home side who were celebrating their 1st win of the season to move them up 7th in the table. A brace each for Charlotte Amps and Kelsey McKenna plus a goal for Katy Walkey seeing Hungate Rovers win the match 5-1. Kirsty Mee with Thurlby Tigers goal.

   The match between P&L Motors Diamonds and Wisbech Town Ladies was abandoned after just 8 minutes after one of the players sustained a serious injury. 

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

 Two sides at the bottom of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South picked up their 1st 3 points of the season on Sunday, 1st Cambridge Rangers at home an 11am kick-off against bottom side Orton Rangers Ladies recorded a big win netting 7 goals on their way to their 1st victory of the season, Orton Rangers new to the league this season grabbing a consolation goal final score 7-1.

 Also new to the league this season are St Ives Rangers Ladies a young side stepping up from U16s football win their 1st league match in adult football on Sunday in their 4th league match of the season were at home to 4th placed Isleham United Ladies. Jasmine Hope scored a hat-trick for St Ives Rangers with Ellen Chapman and Olivia Baker also scoring in a 5-2 win.
