Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

A packed weekend of action across both divisions in Cambridgeshire on Sunday the title race in both league continues to intrigue. A full programme of fixtures in both the Premiership and Championship. Premiership leaders Peterborough Northern Star Ladies Reserves remain 2 points clear of 2nd placed Leverington Sports Ladies as they clinched a 7th win of the season at home to Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds at the weekend. On target for 3 goals in each half to win the match 6-1. Frances Peeling opening scoring for Peterborough in the 16th minute with her first goal of the season. Eleanor Spendlow also scoring along with Eve Lomasney on her first start for the club. Spendelow going on to claim a 2nd goal on the hour with Elle Gavaghan and Hannah Flatters also scoring. Marie Stubbing with the goal for Fulbourn.

Leverington Sports Ladies keeping the pressure on the league leaders at the top of the Premiership 2 points the gap after the won at home this weekend against Ketton Ladies with they shared a fierce title battle with in the Championship North last season, Ketton finishing champions the title going to the wire, (should note Leverington were Wisbech back then) still the same side though under a new name and the pair contested another very evenly contested match on Sunday, Leverington scoring two late goals to win the game 2-0. Shushannah Feast with her first goal of the season and top scorer Sophie Swinden with her 19th.

 Haverhill Rovers Ladies made a fantastic start to the season following promotion to the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership, the early pace setters winning their opening five games have since stalled going on to lose their next 3 in all competition’s a first league defeat followed by cup losses. have lost ground on the leading pair but despite that remain well positioned in 3rd spot as they travelled to play Histon Ladies Reserves on Sunday. Coming out on top in a one sided game to win 2-0. Sian Cottrell with both the visitors goals her first of the season. Haverhill just 4 points behind leaders Peterborough with 3 games in hand.

Fifth versus fourth at the weekend as ICA Sports Ladies hosted March Town Ladies at the weekend. A good start to the season for ICA Sports bringing in several youth players to bolster the squad beating March in the reverse fixture early on in the season. March regrouping going on a good run to climb the Premiership table up to 4th spot both well placed to put pressure on the leaders. ICA Sports doing the double over March running out 6-2 victors to climb above them into 4th themselves. Annie Posnett netting her hat-trick to take her to 7 for ICA Sports from 5 appearances. Hannah Murphy scoring a brace with a goal too for Lauren Mapleston. Emma Searle and Louise Barbour on target for the March goals.

Just 5 league matches on the board for Netherton United Ladies so far this season a mixed back so far with 2 wins 2 losses and a draw games in hand could yet push their way into the top half of the table. Reaching the last 4 of the League Cup last Sunday beating ICA Sports Ladies, were away to Cambridge City Ladies A this weekend back in league action a strong performance to see Netherton collect all 3 points. Katie Barber on target to score the opening goal after just 2 minutes play. Yasmin Green doubling the lead on 10 minutes scoring a 2nd midway through the half to see Netherton 3-0 up at the break. Green going on to complete her hat-trick 5 minutes into the 2nd half taking her days haul to 4 with another strike with 10 minutes left to play giving her 13 for the season Netherton recording a 5-0 win.

An early kick-off Sunday morning for Cambridge University Women hosting St Ives Town Ladies Development. Just 2 wins so far this season for Cambridge University with St Ives in mid-table winning 5 in a row in all competition before being narrowly beaten away to the league leaders 3-2 last weekend. Suffered another frustrating 3-2 defeat this weekend to see Cambridge University win all 3 points for the 3rd time this season pulling away from the bottom 2. All three of their goals coming in the 2nd half with Lidiya Mykhaylechko scoring a brace. Amanda Wainwright netting in the 85th minute. Tash Applegate and Maisie Buckle with her first St Ives goal scoring for the visitors.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship

Cambridge Rangers Women remain 7 points clear at the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship as they extend their 100% into 2020 having to wait a week after last weekend game against Hungate Rovers Ladies was postponed. Away to Isleham United Ladies this Sunday. Claire Kyndt scoring a hat-trick to take her Cambridge Rangers goals tally to 8 for the season. Top scorer Daniella Lewis moving onto 16 with another goal. Paris-Rose Brixey also getting a goal, with Barbara Williams finding the back of the net for her first goal in a 6-1 victory. 11 on the trot now for Cambridge Rangers. Rachael Turner with the Isleham goal.

A few changes at Mildenhall Town Ladies as they look to build on an impressive debut season up to 2nd in the Championship table. Luke Worley with plenty of experience in the women’s game coming in to assist the coaching team. New player joining two adding good experience to the squad. A long period without a game stretching back to the 8th of December, Mildenhall racked up the goals in a high scoring win away to Cambourne United Women on Sunday the hosts fielding the bare 11. Top scorer Katie Hayes netting a first half hat-trick to take her to 15 for the season. Lydia Vance repeating t feat in the 2nd period. Mildenhall holding a 4-2 advantage at half-time going on to rack up a 12-3 win. Annalise Brown adding to Hayes hat-trick with a goal in first half injury time. Megan Hobson and Eloise Gookley both celebrating a 2nd half brace with Rachel Pearce newly joined scoring hr first goal for the club. Emily Arnold and Sharon Pinner with her first Cambourne goal to first half scorers. Brooke McTaggart getting her first goal in the 2nd half.

Pinchbeck United Ladies matching Cambridge Rangers 100% winning record so far this season back in 3rd 3 matches in hand the gap 9 points were away to bottom side Swavesey Spartans Ladies this weekend. Libby Friel giving Pinchbeck an early lead opening the scoring inside a minute. Swavesey Spartans coming back to level with quarter an hour played. Friel with her 6th goal of the season restoring the visitors lead midway through the first half to see them 2-1 up at the break. That the scoreline going into the final fifteen minutes before top scorer Courtney Walker scored her 12th goal of the season to make thing’s more comfortable. Swavesey having other idea though as they came back to make it 3-2 5 minutes later. Pinchbeck ensuring their winning run continued scoring two late goals, China Smith making it 4-2 before Walker netting her 2nd of the match in the 90th minute.

Eaton Socon Ladies stay level on points with Pinchbeck in 4th spot as they won for the 8th time this season at home to Hungate Rovers Ladies on Sunday bouncing back from last weekends 4-0 defeat to Newmarket. Hit 4 into the back of the net themselves this weekend to collect the 3 points. Top scorer Hannah Hutchinson moving onto 8 for the season scoring twice. Goals too for Emily Wiseman and Samantha Webster.

 Last weekends 4-0 win at home to Eaton Socon extending Newmarket Town Women Development’s unbeaten run to 6 matches winning 5 taking them up the Championship table into 5th. Were looking to extend that run to 7 matches as they hosted Deeping United Ladies who in contrast have lost their last 5 league games after making a promising start to the campaign. Ella Jons and Eleanor Barnes-Brown scoring for the visitors in the first half it was Newmarket who held the lead at half-time going in 4-2 up. The hosts going on to add a further 3 goals in the 2nd half to run out 7-2 winners. Laura Brame making her first start for the Development side scoring a hat-trick her first goals since joining Newmarket. A brace for Leah Harper taking her to 9 for the season. Evie Jakes on the scoresheet along with top scorer Talia Irvine collecting her 11th goal of the season.

 Park Ladies climb above Cambourne United Women to move into the Championship’s top 6 as they made it 4 straight wins doing the double over Cardea Ladies in the league at the weekend. A 5-3 win for Park away to Cardea last weekend to get 2020 off to a flyer were the hosts this Sunday. The pair sharing the goals once again, Cardea with 2 goals, Park in great form putting 4 past their opponents to keep their winning run going. Demi Newman, Sophie Fenner and Sheree Martin all scoring their 3rd goal of the season with a first goal for Teagan Pulman. 

Haverhill Rovers Ladies Development starting 2020 with a very welcome first win of the season beating Burwell Tigers Ladies 8-2 away from home last weekend. Meeting in the reverse fixture this Sunday it wasn’t to be for Haverhill as Burwell put in a much better performance to win for the first time in the league since the recording back to back wins at the start of the season. The final score 4-0 to the visitors.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

2019 saw a large expansion in the county leagues in Cambridgeshire a host of new sides joining saw the Premiership increase to 13 sides with a new look single Championship starting with 15 now down to 14 alot of football to be played an plenty of intrigue developing as the fixtures unfold. Newly promoted side Leverington Sports Ladies ending 2019 top of the pile in the Premiership a close battle at the top between themselves and Haverhill Rovers Ladies with Peterborough Northern Star Ladies Reserves joining the battle late on, several others well placed to mount a challenge in 2020. 

  Five matches in the Premiership to start the new year. Leverington Sports beginning the new year with a local derby match away to march Town United Ladies who ended 2019 in a rich vein of form with 3 straight wins taking them up to 5th in the Premiership table. Proved to be a tight game with March coming away with a 2-1 victory courtesy of a 7th goal of the season from Jordan Turner and a first of the season and first in 62 matches for Claire Newton (that stat provided by March). The result lifting march up to 4th in the table 3 points off the leaders with 2 games in hand.

 That narrow defeat for Leverington Sports sees Peterborough Northern Star Ladies Reserves take over at the top of the Premiership table as they came out on top in a narrow win at home to St Ives Town Ladies Development on Sunday. PNS Reserves 6th win of the season edging the result 3-2 to collect the 3 points. Hannah Flatters in her 4th appearance scoring her first goals for the club celebrating a 1st half brace with Ellie Spendelow also on target for the hosts.

Ketton Ladies promoted to the Premiership as Championship North champions last season are up to 6th in the Premiership table 5 points off top spot with games in hand themselves as they started 2020 with a win. Playing at home in the league for the first time this season were taking on Histon Ladies Reserves a brace scored by captain Beth Goodman securing a 2-0 victory.

Ketton leading a trio of sides mid-table on 13 points well positioned to push on in 2020, Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds getting off to a winning start in 2020 at home to Cambridge University Women on Sunday. Top scorer Marie Stubbings netting a brace taking her tally to 20 for the season. Ebony Rule too also amongst the goals since rejoining the club on target for a brace herself to move to 11 for the campaign. Eleanor Woodley playing in just her 3rd game for Fulbourn scoring her first goal for the club helping the hosts to a 5-1 win. Cornelia Buettner making her first appearance for Cambridge University Women getting her first goal.

Finally in the Premiership Cambridge City Ladies new A side 9th in the table are far from out of the tussle above on 12 points, 6 from top spot with a game in hand as they began 2020 with a 4th win of the season at home to bottom side Riverside Ladies on Sunday. A spirited performance from the visitors battling back to score to goals but by then the damage had already been done as Cambridge City leading 4-0 at half-time went on to win the game 6-2. Bronte Rapley along with a brace for Phillipa Witherspoon along with a goal for Sasha Tristam the scorers in the 1st half for Cambridge City. Adding a 5th goal 2nd half Riverside getting it back to 5-2 with Ines Sophia Lopes scoring both goals. Witherspoon completing her hat-trick to see the match won 6-2.

Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup

One game outstanding from the quarter finals of the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup played this Sunday a Peterborough derby with ICA Sports Ladies at home to Netherton United Ladies. A tough fought match Annie Posnett scoring for ICA Sports Ladies, it was Netherton United who edged the win however to reach the last 4 of the competition with Jenna Nairn on target to score a brace to clinch a 2-1 result setting up a home clash with St Ives Town Ladies Development on Sunday 22nd March. Last season’s finalists Cambridge University Women at home to Riverside Ladies in the other semi-final.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship

Plenty of drama going to unfold in the 2nd half of the season too in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship. A brilliant start to the season for Cambridge Rangers Women as they end 2019 well clear at the top with a 100% record 10 wins from 10 played. Very tight below with potential challenges lurking. The top two seeing their opening games of 2020 called off an opportunity to close the gap presenting itself. Pinchbeck United Ladies themselves with a 100% winning start to the season a number of call offs seeing them with games in hand 6 wins from 6 going into Sunday’s away match to local rivals Deeping United Ladies. The hosts holding the advantage at half-time leading the game 1-0 Pinchbeck fought back in the 2nd period to equalise and go on to score the winning goal to move up to 3rd in the table Courtney Walker scoring both goals taking her onto 11 for the season. Pinchbeck 9 points behind leaders Cambridge Rangers with 3 games in hand.

Eaton Socon Ladies new to the league enjoying a good start to the season 3rd in the Championship at the start of 2020. Began the new year with a trip to in from Newmarket Town Women Development climbing up into the top 6 at the end of 2019. Leading 2-0 at half-time Newmarket went on to score a further 2 in the 2nd period whilst keeping a clean sheet to win 4-0 and climb a place into 5th spot in the Championship. Maisey Flack and Olivia Caffarelli with their first goals for the side along with a goal for Brooke Wickens and top scorer Talia Irvine taking her to double figures for the season.

  Park Ladies ending 2019 on a high recording back to back wins continued their excellent form into 2020 with a 3rd straight win away to Cardea Ladies this Sunday. Another high scoring match the sides sharing 8 goals between them. A good start to the season too for Cardea a winning start 4 from 4 behind with their fixtures a first loss coming at home to Pinchbeck in their final game of 2019. Park opening the scoring in the first minute 1-0 up Cardea coming back to level 10 minutes later Phoebe Deidda with the goal. Park retaking the lead midway through the first half ending the first half well scoring two late goals to go in 4-1 up at the break. Cardea fighting back scored twice more in the 2nd half, Park though adding a 5th goal clinching a 5-3 victory. Francesca Plitsch with a hat-trick goes onto 11 for the season. Georgia Payne and Sherrie martin also on the scoresheet.

A mixed set of results so far in the new look Championship for Isleham United Ladies 3 wins and 5 losses from the first half of the season a positive start to 2020 as they won for the 4th time this season at home to Swavesey Spartans Ladies on Sunday. Poppy Green scoring her first hat-trick for the club helping Isleham United to a 5-2 win. There were first goals too for Becky O’Connor and Kayla Simpkins. Alexandra Herbert scoring for Swavesey Spartans who after this weekends results drop to the bottom of the table with just one victory so far this season.

That because previous bottom side Haverhill Rovers Ladies Development began 2020 with their first ever league win. A tough start to life since joining the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship despite some battling efforts and good performances at times not collecting the points to show for it that changed on Sunday with a big win away to Burwell Tigers Ladies. Gemma Codling scoring a hat-trick for Haverhill was joined on 3 goals by Jenna Wright a hat-trick on her first appearance for the side. Amy Evans appearing for the Development side for the first time netting a brace in an much welcomed 8-2 win.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

One more Round-Up for 2019 then I will be enjoying the festive period along with the rest of you. Not that I don’t enjoy writing these because I do fascinating reporting on the league and cup action across the East of England each weekend. The Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership and Championship both expanded this season offering plenty of action and drama the Premiership title race in particular wide open going into the New Year the Championship may well be closer than it looks come the end of the season. 

The weather unfortunately playing it’s part once again with just 6 games surviving. Two from the Premiership. Peterborough Northern Star Ladies Reserves going top on goal difference last weekend joining Leverington Sports Ladies and Haverhill Rovers Ladies on 15 points off the back of 3 straight wins. A 3-0 win at home to ICA Sports Ladies then the pair meeting in the reverse fixture this weekend. A different story this time around as ICA Sports Ladies put themselves firmly back in the title race. Leading Peterborough 2-0 at half-time a strong 2nd half saw them add a further 5 without reply to win 7-0 and in doing so close the gap to the leading trio to a point. Eleanor Scotland making just her 2nd appearance for ICA Sports scoring her first goals for the side netting a hat-trick. Carmen Herridge scoring a brace along with a goal each for Lorna Hart making her first appearance of the season and a first too for Aimee Exposito.

A great start to the season for Leverington Sports Ladies following promotion to the Premiership (as Wisbech Town Ladies) in a 3 way lead at the top of the table a point won at the weekend seeing them end the year top of the pile in Cambridgeshire. Looking to bounce back from last weekend loss at home to Cambridge University Women were hosting Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds. The pair ending up sharing 10 goals, Fulbourn involved in several high scoring encounters this season. The visitors enjoying a fantastic start to the match racing into a 3-0 lead. Leverington taking a while to settle coming back into the match Vicky Lines making her debut for the club pulling it back to 3-1 set up by Sophie Swinden. Chloe Stanborough adding a 2nd as Leverington slowly build momentum Fulbourn though hitting a 4th goal in late in the first half to see them leading 4-2 at the break. Leverington captain Faye Kowalewsky scoring a brilliant goal on the volley to get it back to 3-4. Fulbourn always a threat going forwards Marie Stubbings through to score her 3rd of the game and 18th overall to put Fulbourn 5-3 up the game heading into the final quarter hour. Stanborough driving a shot home to pull it back to 5-4. 9 goals cored so far and Sophie Swinden didn’t have any of them, Leverington’s top scorer not going to be left out firing in her 18th goal of the season to level it up at 5-5, Lines very nearly winning it for Leverington her shot smashing off the crossbar late on the sides sharing the points Lisa Grimes with her first of the season and Ebony Rule the other goal scorers for Fulbourn.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship

Four matches played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship this weekend and Cambridge Rangers Women end a fantastic 2019 top of the 14 strong league with a 100% record winning 10 in a row. Were at home to Cambourne United Women this Sunday. A strong first half seeing them leading 5-0 went onto add a further 2 in the 2nd half whilst keeping a clean sheet up the other end. Another brace for Daniella Lewis 15 goals now for the clubs top scorer. The other five goals shared amongst the squad with Stephanie Rowan and Erica Balskute scoring their 7th goals of the campaign, Claire Kyndt her 5th and first goals of the season for Ruth Telfer and Lisa Wears. Cambridge Rangers 7 points clear at the top.

 Also ending the year with a 100% winning record are Pinchbeck United Ladies albeit from just the 6 played, alot of football to be played in the New Year. Pinchbeck continuing their 100% winning start at the expense of another as they travelled to played Cardea Ladies who themselves have played just 5 so far this season. Another high scoring encounter the pair sharing a 9 goal thriller. Cardea having the better of the 2nd half leading the game 4-2 Pinchbeck fought back in the 2nd half to score 3 times to nick the win 5-4. Libby Friel making just her 2nd appearance for Pinchbeck scoring on her debut netting a hat-trick this time around. Courtney Walker with a brace taking over as top scorer with 9. Pinchbeck up to 3rd on 18 points 

A strong end to 2019 for Newmarket Town Women Development sees them climb up into 5th spot in the Championship table unbeaten now in 5 games with 4 won they were hosting Burwell Tigers Ladies this Sunday. Striker Sarah O’Rourke scoring 4 goals in the match Newmarket building on a good 3-0 half-time lead to win the game 8-0. There were braces too for Brooke Wickens and Leah Harper. 

A positive end to 2019 too for Park Ladies as they make it back to back wins to move up to 7th in the Championship table coming into this Sunday’s match off an 8-0 win away to Burwell Tigers Ladies were at home taking on Deeping United Ladies. Late pressure paying off for Park as they clinched a 2-1 victory. Onto 14 points in mid-table well placed to kick on in the New Year.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

All starting to look very interesting at the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership with a 3 way tie at the top of the table with Peterborough Northern Star Ladies moving top on goal difference joining Leverington Sports Ladies and Haverhill Rovers Ladies who were both in cup action this weekend on 15 points with their 3rd straight league win. A 4-3 win over Leverington last weekend were at home this weekend to another side making a good start to the season ICA Sports Ladies. PNS Reserves scoring plenty of goals averaging 4 a game so far this season were prolific in front of goal once again whilst keeping a clean sheet up the other end winning the game 3-0. Ella Gavaghan netting a brace with one for Georgia Clarke.

Also a 3rd straight win in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership for March Town United Ladies climbing up into 5th in the table now their good run continuing at home on Sunday against Histon Ladies Reserves. March coming out on top in a 7 goal thriller despite finding themselves trailing 2-0 at half-time. A brace for Jordan Turner moving her ahead in the goal scoring charts with 6 for the season plus a 5th of the season each for Emma Searle and Eleanor McLeish seeing them comeback to edge the 2nd half 4-3. Sophie Hopkin, Molly Blair and Lucy Watson getting the goals for Histon.

Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup

This weekend saw the quarter finals of this season’s Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup taking place. The top three in the Premiership at the start of the day involved two meeting in the last 8 Haverhill Rovers Ladies hosting St Ives Town Ladies Development. A narrow 2-1 away win for St Ives in the league 2 weeks ago it was another Haverhill piling on the pressure just couldn’t find the goal, St Ives battling to keep them out, Francesca Worrall taking one of the chances St Ives had to see them win their 5th game in a row and in the process reach the last 4 of the League Cup. 

Leverington Sports Ladies were at home taking on Cambridge University Women in the quarter finals of the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup. Cambridge University reaching the final last season. The first half ending goalless Cambridge University broke the deadlock in the 2nd period adding a 2nd whilst keeping a clean sheet to win 2-0 to advance into the semi-finals. Amanda Wainwright and Anna O’Leary with the goals.

A high scoring match in the quarter finals between Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds and Netherton United Ladies the weekend in the League Cup the pair sharing 10 goals between them Fulbourn with early chances it was Netherton who would open the scoring on 12 minutes Emily Johnson slotting the ball into the corner from a well practised corner routine. Jenna Nairn doubling Netherton’s lead midway through the 1st half scoring from a free-kick. Yasmin Green adding a 3rd goal on 38 minutes to see Netherton leading 3-0 at half-time. Fulbourn pulling a goal back straight away at the start of the 2nd half. Green restoring Netherton’s 3 goal advantage in the 55th minute, Johnson adding a 5th goal soon after to put Netherton into a comfortable lead, Fulbourn though pulled it back to 5-2 panic creeping into Netherton the pressure exerted by Fulbourn bringing the hosts a 3rd goal. 15 minutes left Netherton getting a free-kick 20 yards out Georgina Parrett the taker sending it home to put the visiting side 6-3 ahead. Fulbourn never gave up awarded a late penalty scored Netherton into the last four winning 6-4. A goal for Marie Stubbings plus a hat-trick for Krissie Taylor the scorers for Fulbourn.

The last quarter final to report on featured the one Championship side left in the competition Swavesey Spartans Ladies at home to Premiership side Riverside Ladies in the last 8 of the League Cup. A tough season for both in the league Riverside have saved their best form for the League Cup and were the stronger side at the weekend winning the match 4-0 to reach the semi-finals, 4 different goalscorers, Kerry Camwell and Jess Hill both on target for their 4th goals of the season. Chrissy Blake and Amelia Roberts also finding the back of the net for the visitors.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship

The leaders Cambridge Rangers Women not in action this weekend it was a chance for 2nd placed Mildenhall Town Ladies to close the 7 point gap as they took on Deeping United Ladies at home on Sunday in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship. Charlotte Nash opening the scoring putting Mildenhall into the lead in the 10th minute. Lydia Vince adding a 2nd in the 35th minute to put Mildenhall 2-0 up at half-time. A quickfire double form Nash and top scorer Katie Hayes midway through the 2nd half making thing’s more comfortable for Mildenhall going on to win the match 4-0 and close the gap to the top to 4 points.

Eaton Socon Ladies climb back up into 3rd place in the Championship table with a convincing result away from home on Sunday against Cambourne United Women. Two players on target with their first goals of the season, Kayleigh Clark and Gemma Cooksley.   A battling performance for 10 player Newmarket Town Women Development saw them earn a point away to Hungate Rovers Ladies at the weekend. Talia Irvine scoring her 9th goal of the season as Newmarket got themselves into a first half lead. Hungate without a win on the board yet this season coming back to earn their 3rd draw in the Championship, Kesley Ramm with the goal to see it finish 1-1.

An improved performance from Park Ladies saw them pick up a good result away from home in the Championship on Sunday as they won their 3rd game of the season up and down in form so far this season this weekend on the up scoring 8 goals whilst keeping a clean sheet away to Burwell Tigers Ladies. A hat-trick each for Georgia Payne and Francesca Piltsch, with a brace for Georgia Stimson keeping her ahead in the goals scored chart.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

Getting tight at the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership now with the gap closed on the leading pair Leverington Sports Ladies and Haverhill Rovers Ladies. The later seeing their game away to Riverside Ladies abandoned due to pitch conditions in the 2nd half, Haverhill were leading 3-1 at the time will wait to see the outcome.

 Leverington were hosting Peterborough Northern Star Ladies Reserves on Sunday. The league leaders missing a couple of key players including top scorer Sophie Swinden through illness. Peterborough with a fast start taking the lead inside the opening 20 seconds, strong at the start were 2-0 up on 15. Leverington building coming back into the contest Chloe Stanborough picking the ball up 20 yards out driving in a shot off the post to bring it back to 2-1 had her 2nd of the game to bring it level at 2-2 before half-time. Peterborough having the better of the play early in the 2nd retaking the lead going to the score a 4th goal. Stanborough getting her hat-trick to pull it back to 4-3 but despite a strong finish Leverington were unable to find a 4th goal Peterborough winning 4-3 up to 4th in the table with their 4th win of the season now 3 points behind the leading pair. Ella Gavaghan scoring a brace with a goal each for Georgia Clarke and Ellie Spendelow.

  St Ives Town Ladies Development losing narrowly to leaders Haverhill Rovers Ladies last time out bounced back this weekend away to Histon Ladies Reserves to climb up to 3rd in the Premiership table and close the gap to the top to just 2 points. A first St Ives goal for Poppy Lyons and one from Ruth Fox winning the 3 points as the visitors edged the scoreline 2-1. Sophie Lanham with the Histon goal.

A high scoring match between Cambridge University Women and visitors Ketton Ladies at the weekend the pair sharing 9 goals. An early kick-off Ketton edging the goals 5-4 to record back to back wins to climb briefly up to 4th in the Premiership table before the afternoon’s results saw them pushed back down to 6th usefully placed however after 6 games 5 points off the top.

  March Town United Lades also on the move up the Premiership table after they too recorded back to back wins in the league this weekend away to Cambridge City Ladies A. Josie Turner scoring the opening goal before Eleanor McLeish went on to score a hat-trick to see the match won 4-1. March up to 8th in the table joining Cambridge on 9 points have games in hand on all above.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship

Cambridge Rangers Women keep on winning at the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship keep 7 points clear of the rest with a 9th straight win at the start of the season their 100% record continuing away t new side Deeping United Ladies on Sunday. Their opponents however proving a tough nut to crack with a single goal enough in the end to keep their record intact. Top scorer Daniella Lewis with the vital goal her 13th so far this season.

Mildenhall Town Ladies also new to the league this season continuing their good start in 2nd are 5 points clear in 2nd spot after winning away from home this weekend were taking on Burwell Tigers Ladies who had just the 10 available. Did well to keep Mildenhall at bay until late in the 1st half a quick fire double from Rachel Barrett her first for the club and an 11th of the season for Katie Hayes seeing Mildenhall leading 2-0 at the break. Charlotte Nash with a 2nd half brace sealing a 4-1 victory for Mildenhall. Megan Seabrook-Mead with the goal for Burwell.

Pinchbeck United Ladies are matching leaders Cambridge Rangers 100% winning record so far this season albeit they have played just five games so far and have plenty in hand almost a month since their last league match were away to Eaton Socon Ladies who in that period had overhauled them in the league. A close scoreline Pinchbeck emerging victors taking the game 2-1 at the final whistle. Libby Friel making her first start scoring on her debut with Rebecca Navarette also scoring. Mollie Childerley with the Eaton Socon goal their 4 match winning streak coming to an end.

In contrast Newmarket Town Ladies Development extend their winning run to 4 matches in the league following a poor start, now well placed in mid-table were hosting Isleham United Ladies this weekend in the Championship. Talia Irvine scoring a brace with Jordanne Sillitoe scoring 4 goals to see the game won 6-1. A milestone for Sillitoe in her 2nd spell with Newmarket the first women to reach 50 goals for the club in just 36 games a talent, her first goal coming against Cambridge United Reserves back in 2015.

A strong start to the season in Cambridgeshire for 2 of the newly promoted sides with Leverington Sports Ladies joint top with Haverhill Rovers Ladies. Both on 15 points Leverington with 6 played suffering the one defeat so far that to Haverhill. Haverhill playing this Sunday at home going into the match with a 100% record 5 wins from 5 were taking on fellow promoted side St Ives Town Ladies Development who pipped them to the Championship title last season. Kayleigh Nolan scoring her 8th goal of the season putting Haverhill into a 1 goal lead at half-time, St Ives Town coming back to level the scores in the 2nd half and go on to win the match 2-1 to end Haverhill’s 100% record and in the process climb up to 4th in the Premiership table. Tash Applegate opening her St Ives account last time out on target again with a goal Francesca Worrall scoring her 4th of the season.

Peterborough Northern Star Ladies Reserves are up to 5th on the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership table winning for the 3rd time this season at home to Histon Ladies Reserves on Sunday. Histon with just the 10 available on the day all putting in a shift, Peterborough coming out on top scoring 3 goals to win the game, Georgia Clarke, Ella Gavaghan and Brandi Davies with the goals the latter pair with their first strikes.

 Also a winning weekend for the other promoted side, Championship North Champions, Ketton Ladies ending a frustrating league run with their 2nd win of the season, a 2-0 result away to Riverside Ladies.

A mixed bag of results so far this season for Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds in Premiership action this Sunday they came out on top against Cambridge City Ladies new A side to win their 3rd match of the season. Taking a 2-0 lead against Cambridge City youngsters, all but 4 of the visitors players under 18 the visitors fought back to level the scores Fulbourn on target with a 3rd goal to clinch a 3-2 win. Defender Sara Bodger with her 3rd goal of the season, Ebony Rule firing home her 8th and top scorer Marie Stubbings with her 14th of the campaign getting the Fulbourn goals.

March Town United Ladies found them selves trailing heavily to opponents Cambridge University Women last weekend in the cup eventually rallying to lose the game 8-3. The pair meeting once again at the GER Sportsground in the Premiership was a much closer affair, Emma Frost’s first goals of the season a brace helping March to their 2nd league win of the season beating Cambridge University 2-1. Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship

5 games played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship this Sunday, Cambridge Rangers Women making a strong start stay 7 points clear at the top as they continued their 100% winning record making it 8 wins from 8 away to Burwell Tigers Ladies. Leading comfortably 4-0 at half-time went on to score a further 3 in the 2nd period to win 7-1. Erika Balskute doubling her tally for the season as she top scored in the game netting a hat-trick. 6 goals to for the season for Stephanie Rowan who bagged a brace. Lauren Lock also on the scoresheet with a goal along with Robyn Barlow scoring her first of the season. Megan Seabrook-Mead with the 2nd half goal for Burwell.

Mildenhall Town Ladies stay 2nd in the Championship winning away from home at the weekend. Were taking on Hungate Rovers Ladies the hosts with the are 11 would finish the game with 10 with Mariah Keys-Heaps sent off for collecting two yellow cards. Charlotte Nash with one goal to her name so far this season for Mildenhall scoring in the 5th minute adding a 2nd 6 minutes later went on to complete a 1st half hat-trick in the 43rd minute. A 4th goal to Nash coming on the hour in between a brace for Jasmine Luckett. Mildenhall winning the match 6-2. Kesley Ramm and Ewelina Jerzak with her first of the season for Hungate Rovers.

A cluster of sides starting the day on 12 points below Mildenhall and with Pinchbeck United Ladies in cup action and Cardea Ladies game called off, new sides Eaton Socon Ladies and Cambourne United Women took full advantage to climb up into 3rd and 4th respectfully collecting their 5th wins of the season. Eaton Socon away to fellow newcomers Swavesey Spartans Ladies on Sunday the pair drawing 1-1 at half-time Eaton Socon going on to score two more goals in the 2nd half to clinch a 3-1 victory, a run of 4 straight wins.

Cambourne United Women at home this weekend in the Championship taking on bottom side Haverhill Rovers Ladies Development. Their 5th win of the season coming courtesy of a 5-2 result. Helen Carder-Hall netting twice in the first half with Emily Arnold also amongst the goals. Natasha Caine and Gemma Codling getting the Haverhill goals.

 Also in the Championship this Sunday it was a tale of missed chances for Park Ladies as they were beaten 2-1 at home to Isleham United Ladies. Park frustrated creating plenty of scoring opportunities a combination of poor finishing and excellent saves from Isleham’s keepers, Gemma Stimson scoring their goal, Isleham taking their chances up the other end with goals first goals of the season from Kate Silver and Nicole Bailey securing Isleham’s 2nd league win of the season to pull them away from the bottom of the table.

The lead changing at the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership once more this Sunday Leverington Sports Ladies returning to the top winning at home with Haverhill Rovers Ladies also on 15 points not in action once again. Leverington moving ahead on goal difference securing a 5th league victory against Histon Ladies Reserves at the weekend. A 9-1 win in the reverse fixture for Leverington a month ago. Histon getting their first league win of the season last weekend. A different side to the one Leverington face back on October. Sophie Swinden striking twice early on to put Leverington 2-0 up. Histon creating chances coming back to make it 2-1 kept goalkeeper Kyra Portugal busy, Savanna Plavecz scoring a brace putting Leverington 4-1 up at half-time. Histon getting a goal back to make it 4-2 early in the 2nd half. Sophie Swinden firing home her 13th goal of the season to bring up her hat-trick, Chloe Stanborough with her 8th goal of the season seeing Leverington win the match 6-2. Lucy Watson and Abigail Davies scoring for Histon.

Netherton United Ladies climb up to 5th in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership table winning at home on Sunday. Having lost their opening 2 league fixtures have now collected 7 points from their last 3 matches a run of four games in league and cup now. Began that run with a 5-2 cup victory at home to Ketton Ladies. This Sunday were playing Ketton again in the league. Making a good start goals from Yasmin Green and Katie Barber seeing them into a 2-0 lead. Emily Johnson putting Netherton 3-0 up. Ketton breaching Netherton’s defence to pull a goal back Fran Kavanagh on target Netherton keeping them at bay to win the game 3-1.

 St Ives Town Ladies Development climbing back up to 6th in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership as they got back to winning ways in the league this Sunday away to March Town United Ladies. Starting the season with 4 points from their opening 2 fixtures the newly promoted side going on to suffer back to back defeats in the league goals from Chantelle Abraham, Francesca Worrall & Arianna Andrade helping the club to a 3-1 victory to claim the 3 points.

In the other game played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership this Sunday it was a 7 goal thriller between Peterborough Northern Star Ladies and Cambridge University Women. Back to back win for Peterborough coming into the game on 6 points, Cambridge University the visitors suffering back to back defeats having won their opening fixture. Georgia Clarke striking twice for the hosts with Ella Gavaghan also scoring. Cambridge University edging the game 4-3 to join Peterborough on 6 points. Lidiya Mykhaylechko with a brace. Amanda Wainwright and Beatrice Green also finding the back of the net with a goal apiece. 

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship

Five matches played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship this weekend. Cambridge Rangers Women continue to dominate at the top of the table leading the way by 7 points now with a 7th straight win to keep their 100% winning start going. Scoring plenty of goals too, were away to new side Cambourne United Women this weekend. Leading the match 3-0 at half-time went on to score a further 2 in the 2nd period to win 5-0.  Daniella Lewis opening the scoring in the 15th minute with her 10th goal of the season. Claire Kyndt and Stephanie Rowan also scoring in the 1st period. Lewis adding a 2nd goal to her name early in the 2nd half with Paris-Rose Brixey making it 5-0 with 10 minutes left.

2nd placed Mildenhall Town Ladies at home taking on Park Ladies in the Championship this Sunday. An eventful game, Mildenhall taking the lead in the 1st half with Katie Hayes scoring her 7th goal of the season to put the hosts 1-0 up. Park coming back to level the scores Sophie Fenner returning from injury scoring after Sian Holcroft’s shot was spilled by the keeper. The visitors going on to take the lead going in 2-1 up at half-time, Holcroft on target from a corner to score her first of the season. Both sides creating chances in the 2nd half, Mildenhall getting an equalising goal with 10 minutes left to play Lydia Vince scoring her first goal for the club to see the points shared.

  Deeping United Ladies are up to 3rd in the Championship table as they gt back to winning ways in the league at home to Isleham United Ladies this Sunday. 4 wins from their opening 7 matches played since joining the expanded Championship this season. Hannah Chapman scoring the loins share of Deeping United’s goals she was on target yet again this Sunday striking home on 4 occasions to put her onto 14 goals from 7 games. Deeping United winning the match 5-0 with Eleanor Barnes-Brown also on target for her first goal for the club.

Cardea Ladies were away to Burwell Tigers Ladies this Sunday in the Championship both enjoying a good start to the season, Cardea winning all three of the games they have played so far have games in hand on those above. The pair went goal crazy at the weekend despite Cardea only having 10 available to start the match. The two sides sharing 14… yes 14 goals. Captain Laura Rudd running onto a through ball firing Cardea into the lead inside 2 minutes went on to score a 2nd with 10 minutes gone. Courtney Coles on target for her 7th goal of the season making it 3-0 to the visitors. A good start by Cardea, Burwell responding well firing in 2 quick goals to make it 3-2. Cardea getting it back to 4-2 with Nicola Anderson firing in a free-kick from the edge of the box. Rudd going on to complete a 1st half hat-trick. Burwell getting a 3rd goal to bring it back to 5-3 late in the 1st half. An eventful first 45 the 2nd no less so Burwell with a strong start to the 2nd half scoring 2 goals to make it all square at 5-5. Coles onto a ball over the top of the defence to score her 2nd of the game in the 63rd minute and restore Cardea’s lead. The visitors awarded a penalty kick with 20 minutes left Rudd fouled Anderson stepping up to score. Coles completing her hat-trick in the final 15 minutes to see Cardea 8-5 up, Burwell adding a 6th goal in the dying moments. Cardea keeping up their 100% record. Burwell goals scorers Hannah Dewey who scored a hat-trick. A brace for Charlotte Fogarty plus a goal for Elisa Heinamaa.

  Finally in the Championship Newmarket Town Women secured back to back victories in the league on Sunday to climb up to 8th in the table. On the road again this weekend built on last weekends success against Deeping United with a 4-0 win against Swavesey Spartans Ladies. Leading 3-0 at half-time Newmarket keeping a clean sheet whilst adding a 4th goal in the 2nd period. Leah Harper on target to score her 5th goal of the season with Talia Irvine doubling her tally for the season netting a hat-trick.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

Haverhill Rovers Ladies move back to the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership going 3 points clear of Leverington Sports Ladies who weren’t in action this Sunday with their 5 straight win to start the season following promotion last season. A hard fought win at home against fellow promoted side Ketton Ladies, the side all square drawing 2-2 with 5 minutes left to play Haverhill scoring to win the game 3-2 at the death. Kayleigh Nolan with he 7th goal of the season along with a brace for Amy Evans for the hosts. Sascha Smith and Ellen Marson with the goals for Ketton.

ICA Sports Ladies move back up to 3rd in the Premiership coming out on top on a thriller away to Cambridge University Women this Sunday. 10 goals scored between the two sides, Clare Knibbs on target to score a hat-trick for ICA Sports to put on 5 for the season. Donna Nicholls has 8 goals now adding another two to her tally this weekend with Megan Purnell also getting a goal her first of the campaign to secure a 6-4 victory for the Peterborough based side.

Peterborough Northern Star Ladies Reserves new the the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership this season are up to 5th in the table winning their 2nd match of the season. A local derby this Sunday against Riverside Ladies, a comfortable win for the visitors in the finish. Ellie Spendelow scoring a hat-trick for Peterborough Northern Star, there was also a brace too for both Eve Lomasney and Elli Gavaghan with Kimberly Fairweather on target for a goal to see it finish 8-0.

Histon Ladies Reserves are off the foot of the Premiership table as they win their first game of the season. Playing Cambridge City Ladies A for the 2nd successive weekend bounced back well after suffering a heavy 8-0 loss last time out. Goals scored by Abigail Davies, Anneka DeAth and Philippa Hayden-Evans securing a 3-0 victory.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship

Three games taking place in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship this weekend and with league leaders Cambridge Rangers Women involved in the 1st Round of the Invitation Cup it presented an opportunity for 2nd placed Mildenhall Town Ladies to take over top spot themselves if they could secure a 5th straight win away to Pinchbeck United Ladies. Not an easy task however as Pinchbeck were defending a 100% winning start themselves winning 3 from 3 circumstances seeing them not play a league game for over a month. A big win the the league cup their only game in October. Pinchbeck making it 4 wins from 4 moving up to 3rd a point behind Mildenhall, Freya Peters scoring a brace to give her 8 goals for the season with Victoria Bradford also getting on the scoresheet with a goal in a 3-0 win.

Eaton Socon Ladies climb to 4th in the Championship table joining Pinchbeck on 12 points with their 4th win of the season 10 points won from the last 5 played. Were away to fellow league newcomers Haverhill Rovers Ladies Development who were still to register a point at the foot of the table. Eaton Socon finding their feet in the league plenty in their squad scoring goals, Cerys Richards and Hannah Hutchinson both getting a brace on Sunday. Mollie Childerley, Samantha Webster, Cara Howell and Rebecca Jones with her first goal of the season securing an 8-1 win. Natasha Caine with her first goal scoring for Haverhill.

Deeping United Ladies were at home this Sunday in the Championship playing Newmarket Town Ladies Development both new to the league this season and keen to push on up the table, the result could have gone either way Newmarket coming away with the 3 points to win their 2nd game of the season narrowly clinching it 3-2, Jordanne Sillitoe making her first start netting a brace along with a goal for Talia Irvine. Hannah Chapman on target to score her 10th goal of the season for Deeping United with Caroline Sutherland the other goal scorer.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Invitation Cup

Three ties played this weekend in the 1st Round of this season’s Cambridgeshire Women’s Invitation Cup. A big win at home for Premiership side Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds taking in Championship side Burwell Tigers Ladies. Ebony Rule top scoring in the match bagging herself 5 goals to move her onto 7 for the season. Top scorer Marie Stubbings adding another 4 goals to her tally has 13 now for the season. Both Sarah Gee and Krissie Taylor with two goals each with Sarah Bodger also celebrating a goal in a comfortable 14-2 win to see Fulbourn safely through to the next round.

Premiership side March Town United Ladies also through to the next round of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Invitation Cup, a trip to Championship side Isleham United Ladies in the 1st Round. March coming up against a stubborn and well organised Isleham side eventually going on to win the game 4-1 to progress with 3 players all scoring their first goals of the campaign, Louise Barbour making her appearance of the season getting on the scoresheet along with Sydney Davis and Jordan Turner with a brace her first goals for March. Laura Todd with the goal for Isleham.

The other 1st Round tie in the competition was an all Championship affair with league leaders Cambridge Rangers Women making a 100% winning start to the season away to Swavesey Spartans Ladies. Meeting a fortnight ago in the league Cambridge Rangers coming out to win the match 4-2. Found Swavesey Spartans to be tough opponents again the league newcomers taking the lead with Meadow Wooldridge putting them 1-0 up. Cambridge Rangers coming back to level the scores and go on to win the tie 3-1 to progress with goals from Robyn Barlow, Stephanie Rowan and Vanessa Martinez Ramos.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

It was an weather affected fixture list across Cambridgeshire this weekend with just five matches going the distance across the Premiership and Championship and as October draws to a close there is still an awful lot of football to be played.

  One of the games called off affecting Premiership leaders Haverhill Rovers Ladies. This presented an opportunity to newly promoted Leverington Sports Ladies to go top of the table should they collect the 3 points against Cambridge University Women. A home fixture Leverington switched the fixture to the Thomas Clarkson Academy 3G pitch to keep the game on. Leverington starting the game well seeing the woodwork struck twice before Chloe Stanborough opened the scoring. Cambridge University coming straight back to level the scores went on to take the lead a speculative strike going in off the underside of the crossbar. The visitors going into the changing rooms at half-time leading 2-1.

Leverington frustrated towards the end of the first half started well in the 2nd period, Vicky Vata bringing the scores level making it 2-2 with a 25 yard strike. Stanborough with her 2nd of the game putting Leverington back into the lead would go on to score a hat-trick strong on the ball beating defenders to shoot and make it 4-2. A shot driven into the top corner seeing Stanborough collect a 4th goal in the match and put Leverington 5-2 up. Cambridge University awarded a last gasp penalty initially saved only to be retaken and converted. Leverington top on goal difference winning 5-3.

Having lost their opening fixture in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership to Haverhill Rovers Ladies, Cambridge City Ladies new A side are up to 3rd in the table off the back of 3 successive league wins. Away to Histon Ladies Reserves this Sunday, Cambridge’s young side winning comfortably 8-0 to move up the table just 3 points behind the leading pair.

Four of the scheduled seven fixtures in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship falling foul of the weather this weekend left just three to be played. One of those lost affecting the top 3 match between Pinchbeck United Ladies and Cambridge Rangers Women top of the table it was a great opportunity for 2nd placed Mildenhall Town Ladies to close the gap to the top as they took on Swavesey Spartans Ladies at the weekend away from home. Looking for a 4 straight victory in the league Charlotte Nash found the back of the net to score her first goal for Mildenhall midway through the first half to put the visitors into the lead. Katie Hayes with her 5th goal of the season securing a 2-0 lead for Mildenhall at half-time. Hayes adding a 2nd goal 10 minutes onto the 2nd period to see Mildenhall close the gap to Cambridge Rangers Women to just 2 points with a 3-0 win.

New comers Eaton Socon Ladies came out on top in a 7 goal thriller at the weekend win for the 3rd time this season and move up to 5th in the Championship table to join a cluster of sides all on 9 points. At home were played Park Ladies who themselves could have gone 3rd in the table with a win. Debut goals for Sherrie martin and Georgia Payne plus another for Francesca Piltsch not enough for Park to take anything home from the match as they lost 4-3. Three players for Eaton Socon all celebrating their first goals for the club at the weekend, Mollie Childerley, Cerys Richards and Victoria Wilkinson along with a 2nd of the season for Maddison O’Connor winning the match.

They’re a rare result in women’s football but the final match to report on in Cambridgeshire this weekend saw Deeping United Ladies earn a point in a hard fought 0-0 draw away to Hungate Rovers Ladies.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

Last one of the week finishing with all the latest league and cup action from Cambridgeshire. Newly promoted Haverhill Rovers Ladies continuing their excellent form in the new look Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership top of the table made it 4 wins from 4 so far this season at home to Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds on Sunday, A brace each for Joeli Kirby and top scorer Kayleigh Nolan now on 6 for the season plus a first goal of the season for Amy Evans securing a 5-0 victory. 

  Hot on their heels climbing a place into 2nd in the premiership table are another newly promoted side, Leverington Sports Ladies. Having begun the season with a win lost their 2nd league game at home to Haverhill a narrow 3-2 defeat. Leverington bouncing back well winning 3 on the bounce in league and cup to climb the table. Back to back league wins coming away to Riverside Ladies at the weekend. Sophie Swinden top scorer for Wisbech Town as they were last season continuing her fine goal scoring form in Leverington colours scoring all the goals in the visitors 4-1 win to take her into double figures for the season from just 5 played. Kerry Camwell getting the goal for Riverside her first of the season. 

Cambridge University Women late to the party as always in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership got their league campaign underway this Sunday at home taking on bottom side Histon Ladies Reserves. Last season’s League Cup finalists hitting the ground running scoring 8 goals against their opponents to get 3 points on the board early on move them straight up to 9th in the table. The final score 8-2 with Anneka DeAth and Annalisa Player scoring for Histon. A 13 strong league just one side has played 5 games so far plenty of twists and turns to come.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship

 15 sides competing in the new look single  Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship. Cambridge Rangers Women continue to set the early pace 5 wins from 5 now to lead the table by 5 points. At home taking on Swavesey Spartans Ladies the league leaders coming out on top in a physical match to win by 4 goals to 2 to keep up their winning start. Daniella Lewis, top scoring for Cambridge Rangers netting a brace has 9 for the season now. Claire Kyndt and Lauren Lock also getting on the scoresheet with a goal a piece. Holly Buck and Stacy Askew with the goals in each half for Swavesey Spartans.

  Having started the season with a heavy 8-0 defeat at home to current leaders Cambridge Rangers Women. new side Mildenhall Town Ladies have responded fantastically, drawing their next game have now gone on to win 3 on the bounce a run that sees them climb up into 2nd spot in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship. Were at home to fellow newcomers Eaton Socon Ladies this Sunday. A goal from Georgia-Louise Dargan just past the half hour seeing Mildenhall take the lead, Katie Haynes adding a 2nd goal 4 minutes before half-time. Jasmine Luckett putting the hosts into a 3-0 lead early in the 2nd half. Haynes with her 2nd of the match sealing a 4-0 win 15 minutes from time.

Another new side showing good form are Cambourne United Women. 3 wins on the spin now in the league after suffering two heavy defeats in their opening games. Moving up the Championship table into 5th position. Were at home to Isleham United Ladies this Sunday. A 3 win in a row coming courtesy of goals in each half from Emily Arnold her 5th of the season and Helen Calder-Hall to secure a 2-0 result.

Almost a month since they were last in competitive action Burwell Tigers Ladies having started the season well with back to back wins were at home to Hungate Rovers Ladies this Sunday who themselves were without a point on the board after 3 played. A first goal of the season from Jessica Krauss securing Hungate Rovers first point of the season as they drew 1-1 with Burwell Tigers.

Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup

One League Cup tie played this Sunday the postponed fixture between Championship sides Pinchbeck United Ladies and Deeping United Ladies. Pinchbeck at home have made an excellent start to the season winning 3 out of three neck and neck with Cambridge Rangers early on but postponements have seen them out of competitive action for almost a month has done nothing to dampen that form a strong first half performance seeing them leading the match 7-1. Deeping United would rally in the 2nd half scoring a 2nd goal, Pinchbeck safely through adding a further 2 goals to win 9-2. Freya Peters and Courtney Walker both scoring a hat-trick. Victoria Bradford on target for a brace her first goals for the season. with Rebecca Navarrette also getting on the scoresheet with a goal.
