Suffolk Women’s Division

It’s going to remain a tight battle at the top of the Suffolk Women’s Division right up until the end of the season. East Bergholt United restoring a 3 point lead at the top of the table with a 4-1 away victory against Leiston St Margarets Ladies last Sunday in the only match played in the league. Annie Northwood with a hat-trick in the match for Easy Bergholt United.

  The leaders weren’t in action this Sunday with 2 games played featuring the three sides all hoping to catch them. 2nd placed Brantham Athletic Ladies have gotten level with East Bergholt United before their victory last weekend were hosting 4th placed Walsham Le Willows Ladies. A close game Walsham Le Willows came out on top taking the 3 points home with a 3-2 win. Norma Locker scoring twice with Kirsty Pollard also on target. Walsham Le Willows are still playing catch up have 4 games in hand on the 3 sides above them with the gap to leaders East Bergholt United 11 points.

   Bacton United Ladies came out on top of a 7 goal thriller away to Coplestonians Ladies to move back level on points with Brantham Athletic Ladies and into 2nd on goal difference on Sunday. Had to do it the hard way coming back from 3-0 down at the break with Courtney Ferris-Whatling, Megan Stock and Jemma Vessels on target for a goal each for Coplestonians. Bacton United getting back into it in the 2nd period with a goal from Lois Balfour and a hat-trick by Rebecca White securing a 4-3 win.
