Sunday 5th May

Essex Women’s Premier Division

A great first season playing in the Essex Women’s Premier Division for Leigh Ramblers Ladies having be promoted last season their debut in women’s football their young squad having gone on to clinch the league title and become champions. Losing on the opening day of the season, never looked back going on a long winning run in the league to climb to the top of the table before rivals at the top Frontiers Ladies managed to halt their progress slightly with a 2-1 win in the league those though the only defeats 13 wins seeing the title won with a game to spare. Title celebrations looking unlikely though at half-time this Sunday as Leigh Ramblers found themselves trailing 2-0 at half-time away to Southend United Ladies. Emily Pert thier top scorer netting both the goals to move onto 19 for the season. Leigh Ramblers coming back well in the 2nd period to not only level but go on to win the game 3-2. Amy Jacobs scoring her 17th goal of the season with a brace too from Molly Giles her first goals for Leigh Ramblers this season.
