Pleased to announce the launch of https://womensfootballeast.com a website that will cover women’s football in the East of England.
Women’s football is one of the fastest growing sports in the country, but the coverage it gets in the media is somewhat behind the pace. The more coverage it can get the better and the aim of this website is to help in the efforts to promote the sport.
Why the East of England?
The answer is simple; it’s my neck of the woods. The region I’m from and as a passionate supporter of women’s football I feel the East of England deserves the extra coverage.
Right now you will find the most prominent women’s football clubs in the region plying their trade in the FA Women’s Premier League South East Division One – the 4th tier of the women’s football league pyramid.
That then is where this site shall be focused, until such a time as the team from the East of England reaches the Premier League Southern Division or beyond, something I would love to see.
Not only the FAWPL South East Division One though but the leagues below the three divisions of the Eastern Region Women’s Football League, the Premier, and Divisions One, North and South.
As well as the county league set ups in the East of England, Norfolk, Suffolk, Cambridge, Essex, Bedfordshire & Hertfordshire.
Small beginnings the website aims to bring updated league tables, fixtures and results. Followed by club directories, news and blogs, features and match reports working with this websites sister site http://supportingwomensfootball.blogspot.com
There is also a twitter feed for the women’s football east website and you can follow that at @WF_East
Looking forwards to the journey, plenty of exciting football to come.
