Essex Women’s Premier Division
Just the one match beating the weather at the weekend in the Essex Women’s Premier Division. With Billericay Town Ladies Development hosting bottom side Beacon Hill Rovers ladies who had picked up their first win of the season last weekend. Came close once again scoring twice with Ella Sach and Jo Smeaton from the penalty spot on target for a goal each. Billericay coming out on top however to collect the 3 points with Rebecca Gallagher moving into double figures for the season scoring a brace along with a goal for Tyler Christou in a 3-2 victory.
Essex Women’s Division One
In contrast a full programme of fixtures in Essex Women’s Division One on Sunday with 4 matches played. Leaders Corringham Cosmos Women the side not in action. Remain well clear at the top of the table however. 2nd placed Aveley Ladies in a poor run of results arrested a run of 3 straight defeats with a point at home to Bowers & Pitsea Ladies Development last weekend. This weekend they were hosting bottom side Chelmsford City Ladies Reserves themselves without a point on the board so far this season. That all changed on Sunday with Chelmsford at last celebrating a win and 3 points. Amara Drummond netting a brace for Aveley. So too Kesley Honeywood for Chelmsford her first goals of the season. Molly Butcher making her first appearance for the Reserves also on target with a goal along with an own goal that saw Chelmsford win the match 4-2.
That result sees 3rd placed Runwell Sports Ladies close the gap to Aveley to a point as they won the 3 points at home to Bowers & Pitsea Ladies Development on Sunday in Division One. Runwell leading 2-0 at half-time. Grace Tebb-Reading and Ellie Jones scoring for Bowers & Pitsea in the 2nd period. Runwell themselves going on to score a further 3 to clinch a 5-2 win. Megan Marney scoring twice, with goals too for Ashley Debnam, Aaryanna Simonelli and Rebecca Pope with her first goal of the season.
Very tight below in mid-table in Division One with Chigwell Ladies on the charge up to 4th in the table on on the back of a 4th straight league win. Ending the year in great form the latest 3 points coming away to Tigers Ladies this weekend who themselves aren’t in bad form. Stefanie Sylvester delivering two pinpoint crosses for Leah Mills to put away inside the box seeing the match won 2-1, an own goal conceded up the other end.
Leigh Ramblers Ladies Reserves up to 5th in the Essex Women’s Division One table after a home win against Hutton Ladies Reserves at the weekend. A single goal enough to secure the 3 points.
