Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

Two games played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership this Sunday, 3rd placed Newmarket Town Ladies on the road taking on bottom of the table Park Ladies who hadn’t played a game since the 19th of November. Games in hand on runaway leaders Netherton United Ladies, Newmarket need to convert those into points if they wish to challenge for the title. A comfortable win for the visitors with Abbi Griffin netting a brace, 2 goals too for Sofia Mae Armitage in her 1st start for the club. Chloe Slater, Laura Bailey, Jennifer Gray, Antonia Smith, Brooke Wickens and captain Beth Woodfield were also on the scoresheet in a 10-1 win that moves Newmarket 2 points behind 2nd placed St Ives Town Ladies. Amy Newell with the goal for Park Ladies.

   Cambridge City Ladies Development move up to 4th in the Premiership table winning at home against Cambridge University Women. The hosts coming back from 3-2 down to clinch a 6-3 win. 16 year old Yasmin Crow scoring her 1st senior hat-trick, Ellie Cullum also getting 2 goals with Lucy Hurst also finding the back of the net. Amanda Wainwright and Emma Mcloughlin on the scoresheet for Cambridge University.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

 Two matches played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North at the weekend with league leaders Ketton Ladies opening up a 5 point lead at the top of the table scoring plenty of goals along the way too averaging over 5.5 a game in league and cup. A high scoring win on Sunday at home to Spalding United Ladies, Emma Ward netting a hat-trick with Sascha Smith scoring twice , a goal each for Fran Kavanagh and Estelle Bonnamour in a 7-0 victory.

   The 1st game of the season for Riverside Ladies… really. A new and late entrant to the league have been listed in the table for sometime however just hadn’t played till today. Dropping down into the Cambridgeshire league after struggling for numbers in the EMWFL, an unusual move midway through a season but better they survive and regroup rather than fold have alot of games to fit in however. Started with a win at home to Pinchbeck United Ladies. Sophie Harris scoring twice for the hosts their were goals too for Michelle Bark, Diana Olohova, Hannah Stubbs, Jade Ramm, Samantha Woodham and captain Stacey Schreiber in an 8-1 result. 

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

 Histon Ladies Reserves were playing at the Glassworld Stadium for their league match against Isleham United Ladies looking to close the 6 point gap to league leaders Fulbourn Bluebirds Institute in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South. Kirsty Lemmon Sparkes getting 2 more goals for Histon to take her onto 18 for the season from 7 played. Philippa Hayden-Evans moving on to 12 goals also scoring in the match with Samantha Cousins also on target and a debut goal for 16 year old Destiny Robinson a 5-1 win. Laura Todd getting the goal for Isleham.

   The match between Newmarket Town Ladies Reserves and St Ives Town Development was abandoned after minutes with the score at 1-1 due to a serious injury to one of the Newmarket Town players. Wishing the player involved all the best for a speedy recovery.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Division One Cup

Two matches from the group stages in the Division One Cup this Sunday. In Group A Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds were away to Burwell Tigers a comfortable win for the side leading the Championship South. Sharon Pinner getting a hat-trick with goals for Katie Luddy, Emma Clark Cara Deal and Sarah Gee in a 7-0 win.

In Group C the 1st match played in the mini league was a Wisbech derby with Wisbech St Mary hosting Wisbech Town Ladies. After the 90 minutes it was the visitors who had all 3 points in the bag. Jordan Turner scoring her 1st goals for the club getting a brace with a goal each for Chloe Riches and Sophie Gutteridge in a 4-1 win. Amy Magnus on target for Wisbech St Mary.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

2018 begins with Netherton United Ladies having a commanding 12 point lead at the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership, losing just one of the 10 league games they played before Christmas. Those sides hoping to catch them have alot of work to do but do have games in hand. St Ives Town Ladies in 2nd place in the table were hosting Netherton United this Sunday with 4 matches in hand on the leaders. St Ives Town enjoying a good first half were leading Netherton 3-0, and despite Netherton pulling 2 goals back in the 2nd half St Ives Town found the back of the net once more to win the game 4-2 and close the gap a little. Georgia Stancombe scoring twice for St Ives Town along with a goal each for Katherine Speed and Hannah Seymour-Shove.

    Another side with plenty of games in hand on Netherton United in the Premiership are 3rd placed Newmarket Town Ladies their 1st game of 2018 just their 6th league match. Were on the road taking on March Town United Ladies in 5th spot. Two strikes from Jordanne Sillitoe seeing Newmarket come away with all three points winning the match 2-1. Shannon Shaw netting the goal for March Town United

  They drop to 6th after Cambridge City Ladies Development won at home to climb above them with their 3rd win of the season. Taking on 4th placed ICA Sports Ladies, a goal from Rachel Pearce along with a brace for Rachel Littlewood enough to secure all the points despite Jessica Farchica scoring twice for ICA Sports.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

  Just the one game played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North on this 1st Sunday of January. A good result for Ketton Ladies as they move back to the top of the league with victory away to Pinchbeck United Ladies. Both Emma Ward and Fran Kavanagh scoring 2 goals each along with a goal for Claire Lawrenson to seal a 5-0 win.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

One game played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South too this Sunday and another good result for league leaders Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds as they pick up all 3 points away from home against Newmarket Town Ladies Reserves to open up a 6 point gap over 2nd placed Histon Ladies Reserves. Two goals for Marie Stubbings taking her onto 27 for the season along with a goal for Stacey Kemp seeing the visitors win the game 3-0.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Division Cup

A new competition introduced this season in Cambridgeshire the Division One Cup. Had very little information on this it involves the Championship sides both North & South. Split into 4 groups with A & B featuring the Championship South sides, groups C & D those in the North. Guessing the top two from each will progress to a quarter final stage but have yet to confirm that. Some group games have taken place, Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds beating Isleham United Ladies to lead Group A which also contains Newmarket Town Ladies Reserves and Burwell Tigers.

   In Group D, Ketton Ladies beat Pinchbeck United Ladies to lead the way Riverside Ladies and Spalding United Ladies are also in Group D.

  Group C contains, Hungate Rovers Ladies, Orton Rangers Ladies, Wisbech St Mary Ladies and Wisbech Town Ladies no games played yet.

  There was one match in the Division One Cup played this Sunday however in Group B containing just 3 sides from the Championship South, St Ives Town Ladies Development hosting Histon Ladies Reserves, a narrow 1-0 advantage for St Ives Town at half-time the 2nd half saw 5 goals shared amongst the sides the teams taking a pint each from the game drawing 3-3. Molly Berryman, Connie Liddiard and captain Georgia Rebane scoring for St Ives Town. Philippa Hayden-Evans, Kirsty Lemmon Sparkes and Lauren Threadgold the goal scorers for Histon Ladies Reserves. St Ives Town lead the group having previously beaten Cambridge Rangers.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

After suffering their 1st league defeat of the season last Sunday Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership leaders, Netherton United Ladies were looking to put things right at home on Sunday as they hosted Cambridge City Ladies Development in the only match taking place in the league this weekend. A great start for Netherton as they opened the scoring in the 5th minute Emily Johnson scoring. Midway through the 1st half the lead was doubled with Yasmin Green making it 2-0. Johnson getting her 2nd of the game just 4 minutes later to put Netherton into a strong 3-0 lead at half-time. It was 4-0 2 minutes into the 2nd half Netherton awarded a penalty Green stepping up to score. Cambridge City pulled it back to 4-1 in the 57th minute adding a 2nd goal in the last minute, Morgan Want and Charlotte Vaskin scoring their goals. Netherton once again opening up a 9 point lead at the top of the Premiership table.

Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup

Elsewhere it was quarter finals day in the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup. In the only all Premiership tie St Ives Town Ladies were on home soil facing March Town United Ladies. In great form St Ives proved to strong an opponent as they reached the semi-finals of the competition with a convincing win. Georgia Stancombe netting 5 goals in the game for St Ives. Hannah Seymour-Shove also getting herself a brace with Katherine Speed also on target in an 8-0 win.

Newmarket Town Ladies were away in the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup quarter finals taking on Championship South side Isleham United Ladies. Laura Bailey put through on goal to score the opening goal for Newmarket. Chloe Slater doubling the advantage. Abbi Griffin also scoring a brace in the match with Bailey getting another goal to her name. Jess Linger completing the goalscorers, Newmarket progressing to the semi-finals with a 6-0 victory. 

Championship North leaders, Wisbech St Mary Ladies came into this weekends League Cup quarter final tie in confident form as they hosted Premiership side Cambridge University Women who themselves had knocked out Netherton United Ladies in the previous round. The hosts scored twice with Carlie Knight and Lauren Lewis getting the goals. Cambridge University scoring 2 goals in the 1st half with Amanda Wainwright netting both. The visitors starting the 2nd half strongly Lili Donlon-Mansbridge and Fiona Conlon scoring within 5 minutes of the restart. Donlon-Mansbridge adding another goal on the hour with Wainwright going on to get her hat-trick in the 84th minute. Cambridge University Women winning 6-2 to reach the semi-finals.

  Is an all Premiership line-up in the semi-finals of the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup too with ICA Sports Ladies also progressing although they were run all the way to penalties by Championship South title chasers, Histon Ladies Reserves. The visitors leading 1-0 at half-time Philippa Hayden-Evans with the goal. Megan Purnell equalising for ICA Sports in the 2nd half. The tie needing to be decided from the penalty spot ICA Sports edged the shootout 3-2 to progress.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

One match played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South on Sunday with leaders Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds opening up a 3 point lead at the top of the table over Histon Ladies Reserves with a big home win over bottom side Burwell Tigers. Ebony Rule scoring a hat-trick for Fulbourn on her return to the side. Stacey Kemp and Marie Stubbings both netting a brace, there were goals too for Yasmine Upson, Sarah Green, Seema Grewal, Katie Luddy and Sharon Pinner an own goal too seeing Fulbourn win 13-1. Megan Seabrook-Mead with the goal for Burwell.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Division One Cup

A new competition in Cambridgeshire this season which as of yet I know very little about except as the name suggests the Division One Cup which in this case is the Championship North and South. Two 1st Round ties were played at the weekend. An all Championship South tie saw Cambridge Rangers Women hosting St Ives Town Ladies Development. The visitors progressing into the next round winning by a single goal captain Georgia Rebane the scorer for St Ives.

   The other 1st Round tie saw an all Championship North tie with Ketton Ladies at home to Pinchbeck United Ladies on Sunday. 2nd in the league Ketton reaching the next round comfortably with a 10-1 win.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership leaders, Netherton United Ladies 100% winning start to the season was finally brought to an end this Sunday on the road away to ICA Sports Ladies. A Peterborough derby the home side coming out on top in a high scoring match. A dominant 1st half from ICA Sports saw them leading 3-0 at half-time and although Netherton mounted a come back in the 2nd half scoring 3 times themselves, ICA Sports added 2 more goals to win the game 5-3. Goals from Jessica Farchica, Clare Knibbs, Becky Shields, Donna Nicholls and Carmen Herridge securing their 3rd win of the season taking ICA Sports up into 4th place in the Premiership table. Yasmin Green, Alice MacNicol and Clare Gallagher scoring the goals for Netherton United.

   Benefiting from Netherton United’s 1st defeat of the season are St Ives Town Ladies moving 5 points clear in 2nd spot in the Premiership table winning at home to Cambridge University Women on Sunday who they thrashed 15-0 away from home the previous weekend. Not quite so emphatic a win this time around, goals from Amy Seymour-Shove and Georgia Stancombe securing the 3 points with a 2-0 win. Are 6 points behind Netherton United but have 2 games in hand.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

Just the one match played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North this Sunday but it sees the league having a new leader with Wisbech St Mary Ladies the only unbeaten side in the league winning big with a double figure score away from home to take over at the top. At bottom side Orton Rangers Ladies who they also beat 8-1 at home the previous Sunday. Orton Rangers doing better themselves scoring 3 goals it was up the other end Wisbech St Mary proving too strong in attack with Carlie Knight scoring 7 goals taking her to 11 for the season. Megan Ratcliffe also scoring a brace for Wisbech St Mary along with a goal for Ella Rolfe scoring her 1st goal of the season in her 2nd appearance in a 10-3 win.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

2 games played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South this Sunday with the leading pair Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds and Histon Ladies Reserves both at home. Both held to a draw only able to extend their lead by a point.

Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds were host St Ives Town Ladies Development, the visitors starting their season late beginning excellently with 3 wins from 3. Katie Luddy and Marie Stubbings scoring for Fulbourn, Molly Berryman and Connie Liddiard on target for ST Ives Tow who drop points for the 1st time this season drawing 2-2. Fulbourn staying top in goal difference. St Ives Town remain unbeaten handily placed in 3rd spot in the Championship South table 3 points behind the leading pair with games in hand on both.

   Histon Ladies Reserves also having to settle for a point as their 100% winning start to the league was ended at home to Newmarket Town Ladies Reserves on Sunday. The sides drawing 2-2 at half-time, Kirsty Lemmon-Sparkes with both the goals for Histon, Molly Agnew and Joeli Kirby finding the back of the net for Newmarket. The visitors taking an early lead in the 2nd half Jennifer Gray with the goal to put them 3-2 up. Histon pulling the scores level in the final 10 minutes with Lemmon-Sparkes completing her hat-trick, Newmarket the 1st side this season to take points off Histon the final score 3-3.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

3 games played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership this Sunday and they saw a whopping 31 goals scored between them! League leaders Netherton United Ladies continued their 100% winning start to the season making it 7 wins from 7 to go 9 points clear at the top of the table. At home to bottom side Park Ladies. Leading 6-2 at half-time Netherton went on to reach double figures in the 2nd half winning 10-2. 4 players all claiming 2 goals each, Jenna Nairn, Alice MacNichol, Sasha Haw and Georgina Parrett. Emily Johnson and Anna Hatcher also getting a goal each.

   St Ives Town Ladies move into 2nd spot in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership with a 4th league win on to 12 points with 2 games in hand on leaders Netherton. St Ives Town were on the road playing Cambridge University Women and brought the 3 points back with them with a massive winning score. Youngster Katherine Speed top scoring in the game with 4 goals, 3 players celebrated hat-tricks, Amy Seymour-Shove, Georgia and Katie Stancombe. With Sasha Smith and Megan Stow both starting on the bench getting on to score a goal each in a 15-0 win.

4th placed March Town United Ladies are now 4 games unbeaten in league and cup at home to ICA Sports Ladies at the weekend. Shannon Shaw moving onto 9 goals for the season with a brace for March Town United. The points shared as ICA Sports scored twice at the other end, Becky Shields and Claire Knibbs the scorers the point lifting ICA Sports up a place into 5th.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

Ketton Ladies go 3 points clear at the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North with a good win over previous leaders Wisbech Town Ladies on Sunday, the sides level on points Ketton travelled to Wisbech having been beaten by them twice this season in the league and cup. A different story this time around Wisbech Town created chances however it was Ketton who converted their’s leading 3-0 at half-time doubled the lead in the 2nd half going on to win 6-1, Leah Hall with a late goal for Wisbech Town. Fran Kavanagh scoring a hat-trick for Ketton, with Estelle Bonnamour getting a brace the other goal scored by Emma Ward.

Wisbech Town Ladies slip to 3rd in the Championship North table as local rivals Wisbech St Mary Ladies move above them into 2nd the only unbeaten side in the league with 4 wins and a draw from their 5 matches played. At home to bottom side Orton Rangers Ladies on Sunday. Eilish Brown scoring a hat-trick in the match. Abi Roach-Smith grabbing a brace, there were goals too for Megan Radcliffe, Ellie Nobbs and Ellena Bennington in an 8-1 victory.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

Two games played in the Cambridgeshire Championship South this Sunday the top two not in action it was a good weekend all round for St Ives Town Ladies as their new Development side made it 3 wins from 3 at the start of the season to move into 3rd spot in the table. Away to Cambridge Rangers, the sides goalless at half-time St Ives Town went on to open the scoring on the hour Connie Liddiard making it 1-0. 5 minutes later the lead was doubled Emilee Steel getting the goal. Captain Georgia Rebane making it 3-0 with 15 minutes left to play to see the 3 points won.

Isleham United Ladies also climb the Championship South table after the weekends results moving up from 6th to 4th winning the 3 points at home to Burwell Tigers. Amy Ellis, Shona Kelly, Laura Todd, Nicole bailey and Annabelle Marsh all finding the back of the net in a 5-1 win. Vicky Murrell with the goal for Burwell Tigers.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

3 games in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership this Sunday and with the top two not in action it was a chance for others to close the gap at the top. St Ives Town Ladies go 3rd in the table with a home victory against Cambridge City Ladies Development. Katie Stancombe scoring a hat-trick in the game for St Ives seeing them to a 3-1 win. Molly White with the goal for Cambridge City.

   Elsewhere it was the Fenland derby with Park Ladies hosting local rivals March Town United Ladies. The visitors coming out on top to claim all 3 points. Goals from Naomi McGarvie and Shannon Shaw helping March Town United to a 2-0 win.

  2-0 was also the winning score for Peterborough based side, ICA Sports Ladies against Cambridge Universtiy Women on Sunday the hosts winning courtesy of a goal from Clare Knibbs along with an unfortunate own goal.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

Hungate Rovers Ladies were hosting 2nd placed Wisbech Town Ladies in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North this Sunday. The visitors running out comfortable winners leading 3-0 at half-time, Chloe Riches scoring twice for Wisbech Town with Faye Kowalewsky also on target. 2nd half Wisbech Town doubling their lead Sophie Gutteridge claiming yet another hat-trick moving her onto 22 for the season. The win puts Wisbech Town back on top of the table with a better goal difference to Ketton Ladies.

  Ketton at home at the weekend but missed out on the chance to keep their 3 point lead at the top of the table against Wisbech St Mary Ladies. Despite taking an early 2-0 lead Ketton were eventually beaten 7-3 by Wisbech St Mary the 3rd placed side unbeaten closing the gap on the leading pair to 2 points with games in hand on both. Amy Magnus scoring a hat-trick for Wisbech St Mary. Carlie Knight hit a brace too with a goal a piece for Jessica Cooper and Ellena Bennington.  

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

3 matches played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South this Sunday and a big win away from home for 2nd placed Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds sees them return to the top of the table on goal difference over Histon Ladies Reserves who weren’t in action this weekend. Away to Burwell Tigers, Marie Stubbings top scored in the match for Fulbourn scoring 5 goals taking her onto 20 goals already this season from 6 appearances. Goals too for Joanne Woods, Amy Smith and Katie Luddy in an 8-0 result.

 Moving up the Championship South table from 6th to to 3rd position are Newmarket Town Ladies Reserves winning their 2nd league game of the season away to Isleham United Ladies on Sunday. Isleham United netting twice in the match with goals from Lily Turner an Laura Todd were edged out by the visitors scoring 3 times to get the win and 3 points, Jordanne Sillitoe with a brace along with a goal for Abbi Griffin.

   Also on the move up the Championship South table are newly formed St Ives Town Ladies Development winning 2 from 2 now to move up to 4th in the table. At home to Cambridge Rangers it was the hosts who held a narrow 1-0 lead at half-time. St Ives coming back to level the scores in the 2nd half, Emilee Steele finding the back of the net. The hosts going on to win with captain Georgia Rebane firing the ball home to make it 2-1.

Sadly for the 3rd week running I am having to report the loss of another women’s football side struggling to recruit new players Championship North side, Swineshead Institute Ladies have had to call it a day a real shame wishing everyone involved with the club all the best for the future.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

 A handful of league games played across Cambridgeshire this Sunday. Just the one game in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership it was a big one nonetheless as leaders Netherton United Ladies took on 2nd placed Newmarket Town Ladies. Winning all 5 of their opening league games Netherton were already 5 points clear at the top. A Game in hand unbeaten in the league themselves Newmarket were looking to close the gap to 2 points. It was Netherton who had the better of the 1st half Emily Johnson opening the scoring in the 20th minute then 7 minutes later Yasmin Green doubled the lead for the hosts. 2-0 up at the break Newmarket struck early in the 2nd half to pull it back to 2-1 Sarah O’Rourke netting the goal. Netherton were quick to respond Georgina Parrett making it 3-1 in the 55th minute. The 3 points made secure 20 minutes from time Parrett scoring her 2nd of the game Netherton winning 4-1 and going a massive 8 points clear at the top of the Premiership in the process.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

Two matches played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North this Sunday. Was a good result away from home for 3rd placed Hungate Rovers Ladies keeping hold of that position in the table after they held 4th placed Wisbech St Mary Ladies to a goalless draw ending their 100% winning start to the season.

   Spalding United Ladies won for the 2nd successive league match this Sunday once again scoring 6 goals in the process too. Were at home to bottom side Pinchbeck United Ladies. Stephanie Starr and Ellis Taylor-Williams both scoring a brace in the match. Rebecca Navarette and Louise Coggles also on target with a goal each in a 6-3 victory.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

I was beginning to wonder if St Ives Town Ladies had a new Development side or whether they were just making it up? The last side out of the blocks across the whole of the East they were finally playing their 1st league match in the last Sunday of October. Away to 4th placed Isleham United Ladies. Sasha Smith usually involved with the 1st team was returning to action after 7 weeks out with injury she celebrated by scoring a brace in the match with Katherine Speed in her St Ives debut also scoring twice in a 4-1 win. Vicky Beeton scoring Isleham United’s goal.

   Newmarket Town Ladies Reserves haven’t had that much action either this just their 2nd league match were looking to get off the mark at home to Burwell Tigers who did so themselves with an impressive 10-1 last time out. Tasted heavy defeat this time around however as Newmarket racked up the goals to claim their 1st 3 point haul of the season. Dominika Szary scoring a hat-trick in the game. Molly Agnew, Kate Silver, Amanda Stacey and Hollie Turner all claimed 2 goals each. Shelby Beveridge also celebrating a goal in a 14-0 win.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

A handful of matches played across the counties 3 leagues this Sunday. Two games in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership. With league leaders Netherton United Ladies not in action 2nd placed Newmarket Town Ladies were looking to close the gap by continuing their 100% winning start to the season at home were taking on March Town United Ladies. In the one game played in the Cambridgeshire Championship North this weekend two more sides also met looking for their 1st points of the season, Orton Rangers Ladies hosting Spalding United Ladies. It was the visitors who were celebrating come the final whistle as they won comfortably to claim all 3 points. Rebecca Navarrete scoring twice their was also a goal each for Hannah Dennis, Stephanie Starr, Lita Abelite and Sharn Thompson in a 6-1 victory which lifts Spalding United into 5th position.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

Two matches played in the Cambridgeshire Championship South this Sunday. Fulbourn Bluebirds beaten by leaders Histon Ladies Reserves last weekend closed the gap back to 3 points with a home win against Isleham United Ladies. Marie Stubbings scoring a double hat-trick for Fulbourn as they ran out 6-2 winners to claim the 3 points. Laura Todd and Shona Kelly on the scoresheet for Isleham United.

   League newcomers Burwell Tigers have found life in the Championship South tough going early doors 2 losses in the league along with a heavy defeat in the cup they themselves scored big at the weekend at home to get their 1st win of the season were at home taking on Milton Ladies playing their 1st league game of the season a new look side this season with several former Milton players now part of the Histon Ladies Reserves set-up. Emily Smith netting a hat-trick for Burwell, both Vicky Murrell and Samantha Freeman scoring a brace. Lauren Rose, Ellie Taylor and Emma Walters all claiming a goal each in a 10-1 win. Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

Netherton United Ladies blistering start to the season in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship continues as they stretch their winning run at the start of the season to 5 games 6 points clear at the top of the table away to newly promoted March Town United Ladies this weekend. Alice MacNicol putting the visitors into the lead on the half hour. A narrow lead for Netherton at half-time substitute Carmen Giles making it 2-0 midway through the 2nd half to secure their 5th league win.

 Also starting the season with a 100% winning start are 2nd placed Newmarket Town Ladies 3 wins from 3 to begin their league campaign behind Netherton United on games played due to their run in the FA Women’s Cup a trip to Cambridge University Women who usually strong opponents in this league have started with 2 defeats. Newmarket continued their fine form with no less than 4 players scoring a brace on Sunday, Abbie Marshall, Brooke Wickens, Hollie Turner and Sarah O’Rourke. Laura Bailey and Lauren Deller also grabbing themselves a goal in a 10-1 win.

Wisbech Town Ladies strong start to the season in the Championship North was brought to an end on Sunday away to local rivals Wisbech St Mary Ladies a battling contest between the 2 sides it was a narrow 2-1 results of Wisbech St Mary an own goal along with a goal for Carlie Knight seeing the 3 points won Wisbech St Mary making it 2 league wins from 2 in 4th games in hand on the 3 sides above.

 With Wisbech Town Ladies losing at the weekend Ketton Ladies level on points in 2nd took advantage with a good away win against Spalding United Ladies to move 3 points clear at the top of the table with their 4th win of the season. 4 goals for Fran Kavanagh as well as a goal each for Claire Lawrenson and Emma Ward sealing a 6-1 win. Kate Amess scoring the goal for Spalding United Ladies. 

A late start to the season for Swineshead Institute Ladies who have been searching for new players to bolster their squad. Fielding a side this weekend started their campaign at home to 3rd placed Hungate Rovers Ladies. Ewelina Jerzak and Bianca Towler scoring for the visitors, Swineshead responded with 2 goals of their own to see the points shared.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

2 games played in the Championship South this Sunday with the top 4 all in action. Leaders Histon Ladies Reserves 3 points clear of 2nd placed Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds with with both sides starting the season with 100% records a chance for Fulbourn hosting to end Histon’s record and move level on points likewise Histon could move 6 points clear at the top with a 4th straight league win. Histon held a narrow lead at the break 1-0. Were made to work for the win 2nd half as Fulbourn scored twice their goalscorers Emma Clark and Yasmin Upson. Histon though hit 3 more goals in the 2nd period to win the game 4-2 with both Kirsty Lemmon-Sparks and Philippa Hayden-Evans netting twice.

3rd v 4th with Isleham United Ladies at home to Cambridge Rangers Women on Sunday both on 3 points, shared the points in the end drawing 2-2, Nicole Bailey and Jade Flack on target for Isleham. Cambridge Rangers goals an own goal plus a strike from Cornelia Buettner. Into mid October and Milton Ladies and St Ives Town Ladies Development yet to kick off in the league.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premier Division

Two matches played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership this Sunday and a big win at home for Netherton United Ladies saw them keep up their 100% winning start to the season. Taking on Cambridge University Women at The Grange. A 28th minute penalty scored by Yasmin Green saw the home side hold a narrow 1st half lead. The 2nd half a different story Netherton United going on to score 6 goals to take the 3 points with a 7-0 win to make it 4 wins from 4, Emily Johnson and Georgina Parrett both with a brace, Megan Parrett and Jenna Nairn with a goal a piece.

It was a 7-0 win too for St Ives Town Ladies away from home at the weekend playing March Town United Ladies. Two goals for both Tierney Coulson and Georgia Stancombe along with goals for Amy Seymour-Shove and Connie Liddiard plus an own goals securing their 2nd win of the season the result moving them into 2nd in the Premiership table.

There were also two matches played in the Championship North this weekend and a big win at home for Ketton Ladies saw them move level on points with Wisbech Town Ladies at the top of the table. Need goals too if anyone is going to eat into Wisbech Town’s already formidable goal difference. Taking on bottom side Pinchbeck United Ladies, Fran Kavanagh top scored for Ketton netting 8 goals. Claire Lawrenson scoring a hat-trick as did Emma Ward. Estelle Bonnamour, Catie Martin and Lauren McKeever also getting a goal each in a 17-0 win.

Hungate Rovers Ladies won for the 2nd time this season to climb up to 3rd in the Championship North table this Sunday at home were playing Spalding United Ladies. Goals from Katie Ingram, Kelsey McKenna, Ewelina Jerzak and Laura Punter securing the 3 points with a 4-2 result. Hannah Dennis and Emily Price scoring the goals for Spalding.

 Two matches played in the Championship South this Sunday. 3 wins from 3 to start the season see Histon Ladies Reserves open up a 3 point lead at the top of the early table. A big win away to Cambridge Rangers. Kirsty Lemmon-Sparks adding another 4 goals to her tally. A brace each for Philippa Hayden-Evans and Heather Cousins with Amanda Binge also grabbing a goal in a 9-0 win.

  Isleham United Ladies pick up their 1st league win of the season in their 3rd attempt away to new side Burwell Tigers. Lily Turner scoring a hat-trick there were also goals for Amy Ellis, Anita Butters and Amy Griffin in a 6-1 win the 3 points lifting Isleham United all the way up to 3rd in the table.
