Suffolk Women’s Division

Still very early days in the Suffolk Women’s Division with the 9 sides only playing a handful of games to date, Walsham Le Willows still to get off the mark. 3 sides starting with 2 wins from 2 to lead the way, East Bergholt United Ladies top of the table on goal difference after an opening game 9-0 win was a much closer game this weekend at home to Ipswich Athletic Ladies the sides going into half-time drawing 1-1 East Bergholt United going on to win the game 2-1 in the 2nd half their goalscorers, Jessica Clark and Charlotte McGrath. Madeleine Fairbrother with the 1st half strike for Ipswich Athletic.

Brantham Athletic Ladies are 2nd in the Suffolk Women’s Division after coming back to win at home against Bacton United Ladies who had knocked them out of the league cup last weekend. Bacton United playing their 1st league game of the season were leading 2-0 at half-time thanks to a brace from Lois Balfour. Brantham Athletic launched a 2nd half comeback getting back on level terms then going on to win 3-2. Kirsten Hutchings, Jodie Sharp and Shanice Leeks with the goals.

   Also making it 2 wins from 2 to start the season with 6 points a new side AFC Kesgrave Ladies again winning a close game 3-2 at home to Leiston St Margarets Ladies. A brace from Ashley Bustos along with a goal from Christy Fraser seeing AFC Kesgrave take the 3 points, Leiston St Margarets goals scored by Lucy Eagle and Michelle Stansborough.

ERWFL Premier Division

Billericay Town Ladies continue to set the pace in the ERWFL Premier Division as they record their 5th straight win at the start of the season. At home this Sunday were taking on 4th placed Bedford Ladies a close game between the 2 sides Billericay edging Bedford to the 3 points courtesy of a 3-2 win. Sally Appleton, Lauren Knight and captain Lindsey Morgan with the goals for the Essex side. Michelle Byrne and Olivia-Rose Cunningham scoring for Bedford.

2 points back in 2nd spot also undefeated this season in the ERWFL Premier Division are Writtle Ladies recording a 4th straight win away to Lowestoft Town Ladies this Sunday and in doing so doubled their goals scored tally in the process. A heavy defeat for Lowestoft Town Ladies who after winning 2 games in a row finding some form started the 2nd game in a row with just 9 available. Tough enough against any side but up against an in form side like Writtle it was too much. Leanne Stubbings finding the back of the net for 4 goals in the match top scored. There were hat-trick each for Sophie Vale and Ellie Bowdidge. Courtney Clarke and captain Abigail Fry both scoring twice with Charlotte Bryant also on target in a 15-0 win.

Acle United Ladies travelled down to Essex to play bottom side Colchester Town Ladies at the weekend having bolstered an already strong squad with 3 new faces during the week. A full squad travelling Acle took the lead in the 10th minute Megan Todd putting them 1-0 up. Colchester got back on level terms. Acle with more possession went on to retake the lead midway through the half Grace Birchall scoring added another 3 minutes before half-time to see Acle lead 3-1. Todd scored her 2nd of the game 9 minutes into the 2nd half to extend Acle’s lead. Kate Pasque scored from a free-kick to make it 5-1 to Acle. Rebecca Donnelly pulled a goal back for Colchester with 20 minutes left. Birchall getting her hat-trick in the final minute sealing a 6-2 win.

  Colney Heath Ladies climb up to 4th in the Premier Division table after scoring late to get a point at home to Royston Town Ladies on Sunday the visitors coming into the game off the back of a high scoring 1st win of the season. Took the lead late in the 1st half Becky Shephard putting the ball into the back of the net. 1-0 the advantage to Royston for much of the 2nd half both sides creating chances, awarded a free-kick Colney Heath found an equalising goal Victoria Allen on the end of the set-piece sending the ball home to make it 1-1 the points shared enough to take Colney Heath from 6th to 4th.

A much needed 2nd win of the season for Cambridge City Ladies takes them away from the bottom of the Premier Division table up to 7th as they edged out visitors AFC Dunstable Ladies to the 3 points, a goal from Bella Simmons along with an own goal sealing a 2-1 victory. Chelsea Forde scoring for Dunstable who drop to 10th in the table.

  Also a much needed win for AFC Sudbury Ladies who had just one win previously in the league dropping to 2nd bottom were away to Brentwood Town Ladies on Sunday returning home to Suffolk with all 3 points after a brace from Charlene Roach saw them win the game 2-1 and climb up to 8th in the Premier Division. Leah Cowan scoring the goal for Brentwood.

ERWFL Division One North

Ipswich Wanderers Ladies climb to the top of the ERWFL Division One North table after a a 2-0 home win over previously unbeaten King’s Lynn Town Ladies. A goal each for Jessica and Michelle Taylor-Allum seeing the home side to the win their 3rd of the season taking them to 10 points have played more than anyone else but is proving to be a competitive league early on.

  Ipswich Town Ladies Development are starting to find their feet at a higher level after suffering 4 straight losses have been improving and picked up their 1st win of the season at home to Cambridge United WFC Reserves at the weekend. leading 2-0 at half-time with Emily Steward scoring both goals. Cambridge improved 2nd half scoring twice, Ruth Fox with her 1st goal for the club along with Ebony Rule. Steward completing her hat-trick winning the match for Ipswich 3-2.

ERWFL Division One South

Stevenage Ladies Reserves have started the ERWFL Division One South season very strongly scoring lots of goals 4 wins in a row to top the table were in ruthless form away to Bishops Stortford Ladies on Sunday scoring 20 goals without reply in their previous 3 league matches. Hit Bishops Stortford for 16 without reply, Hannah Marshall scoring 5 goals in the game, Emily Scofield with a hat-trick. Daniela Martucci, Becky Day and Holly Darling all getting a brace. Naomi Sleator and Rebecca Brooker also on the scoresheet taking Stevenage to 36 goals from just 4 games zero conceded looking strong. A result to forget for Bishops Stortford onto the next one.

   Little Thurrock Dynamos Ladies also maintain a 100% winning start to the league albeit this weekends game just their 2nd in ERWFL Division One South. Away to Hertford Town Ladies a double for Georgia Fraser securing the 3 points taking them into 3rd place in the table.

ERWFL League Cup

Two games scheduled to be played in the 1st Round of the ERWFL League Cup this Sunday, Histon Ladies were awarded the win against Silver End United Ladies after their opponents couldn’t field a side. Elsewhere it was an all Division One South tie with Hoddesdon Town Owls Ladies hosting Harlow Town Ladies. Abbey Dell scoring in the 1st minute for Harlow Town, Chloe Bassett adding a 2nd deep into 1st half injury time. Frances Gamble wrapping up a 3-1 win for the visitors 3 minutes from time to see Harlow advance in the competition.

FAWPL Southern Division

Charlton Athletic Women remain 5 points clear at the top of the FAWPL Southern Division as they extend their 100% winning start to the season to 7 games. In Wales this Sunday away to Cardiff City Ladies. Charlotte Gurr scoring a 1st half 20 minute hat-trick for Charlton all free-kicks putting the visitors in control of the game 3-0 the advantage at the break. Cardiff scored 10 minutes into the 2nd half Cori Williams with the goal but couldn’t find another to pressure Charlton winning 3-1.

  Lewes FC Women extend their winning run to 6 games in league and cup to keep hold of 2nd in the FAWPL Southern Division table. Winning by their biggest margin so far at home to West Ham United Ladies who announced their intention to apply for a place in the new look FAWSL 1 this week. Work to do on the field before then however as their run is the complete opposite to Lewes now 6 straight defeats in the league. Looked to be heading in goalless on Sunday until Leeta Rutherford found the back of the net for Lewes with 2 minutes of the half left to play. Katie McIntyre doubled the lead for Lewes 10 minutes into the 2nd half. Rebecca Carter coming off the bench scoring to seal a 3-0 win with 5 minutes left to play.

In cup action last Sunday, Crystal Palace Lades returned to league action with a tough home game against Portsmouth FC Ladies. Gemma Bryan is in a hot streak of form and that continued as she scored a goal in each half for Crystal Palace on 26 & 82 minutes to see them secure another 3 points with a 2-0 win that keeps them ahead of C&K Basildon Ladies in 3rd place on goal difference.

  C&K Basildon keep pace with Crystal Palace picking up their 4th league win of the campaign at home to Queens Park Rangers this Sunday a single goal enough to take all 3 points scored in the opening 15 minutes by captain Zoe Rushen.

 Chichester City Ladies climb up to 5th in the FAWPL Southern Division table coming out on top in a high scoring game away to bottom side Swindon Town Ladies. Charley Wilson-Blakely put Chichester into the lead 20 minutes into the 1st half. Hollie Wride firing home to make t 2-0 8 minutes later. Wilson -Blakely netting for her 2nd goal with 10 minutes of the 1st half left. Cherelle Khassel scoring a couple of minutes later to see Chichester leading 4-0. Swindon reduced the deficient with a goal in 1st half injury time Abby Picton scoring. Didn’t take long into the the 2nd half for Wilson-Blakely to complete her hat-trick. 5-1 the lead Swindon mounted a comeback Mia Mugford scoring in the 54th minute. Two quickfire goals in the 62nd & 64th minute from Annie Martin & Sophie Barrett pulling it back to 5-4 game on. 16 year old Alex Collinghan scoring her 1st senior goal for Chichester to make it 6-4 then Khassel scored her 2nd of the match to see Chichester win the game 7-4.

 An indifferent start to the season for Coventry United down in 8th place in the Southern Division table built on last weekends point earned away to Crystal Palace with a big win away to Gillingham FC Ladies this weekend. Alison Hall putting the visitors in front in the 11th minute. Goals from Marie Gauntlett and Amber Hughes midway through the  1st half seeing Coventry leading 3-0 at the break. In control of the game the goals continued to come 2nd half. Hughes scoring her 2nd goal of the game 5 minutes into the 2nd half. Gauntlett also with her 2nd of the game on 54 minutes. Helen Dermody and Leah Seivwright extending the lead to 7-0 with a goal each going into the final 15 minutes, Gauntlett going on to not only complete her hat-trick but score 4 goals in the match the final score 9-0.

FAWPL South East Division One

The battle at the top of FAWPL South East Division One is very intense. 5 straight league wins keep AFC Wimbledon Ladies at the top of the table the latest coming away from home against Stevenage Ladies this Sunday. An early goal from Laura Quinn-Low giving AFC Wimbledon the lead. Quinn-Low netting another goal late in the 1st half, time for Stevenage to find a reply a goal line scramble seeing captain Donna McGuigan reducing Wimbledon’s advantage back to 2-1 at the break. Continued to be a close game 2nd half Rebecca Sargent making sure of all 3 points for Wimbledon scoring their 3rd goal in the final 10 minutes.

Newly promoted Leyton Orient continue their fine start to the season a 4th straight league win to keep them 2nd 2 points behind AFC Wimbledon. Travelled up to Norfolk this Sunday to play Norwich City Ladies. Sophie Le Marchand putting Leyton Orient into the lead on 16 minutes the advantage didn’t last long Norwich equalising 5 minutes later Millie Davies scoring to make it 1-1. That the score going int half-time. Leyton Orient retook the lead 6 minutes into the 2nd half Lisa Holmbeck on target, that was quickly followed by 2 more goals Sarka Stryhalova and Danielle Griffiths extending the lead to 4-1. Charlotte Broad scored for Norwich with 15 minutes left to reduce the lead, before Stryhalova hit her 2nd goal of the game to see Leyton Orient secure a 5-2 win.

 Looked like it would be a close contest on paper and so proved on the pitch with a single goal winning the match between Ipswich Town Ladies at home to Actonians Ladies. 3rd placed Ipswich keeping pace with the leaders with the 1-0 win the goalscorer Roxanne Small.

A hat-trick for Cambridge’s Amber Cantwell this weekend

4th placed Milton Keynes Dons Ladies also clinched another 3 points at the weekend but left it very late to do so away to Luton Town Ladies. The home side taking the lead in the match Jess Mckay with the goal to see the lead 1-0 at half-time. New signing Laura Mills from Cambridge United WFC scored her 1st goal for her new club to make it 1-1 in the 2nd half them deep into injury time Charly Wright fired home a free-kick to score the winner for Milton Keynes to see them keep it a 3 way tie on 13 points between 2nd & 4th.

Cambridge United WFC have been the draw specialists in South East Division One so far this season hard to beat have just the one win prior to this weekends home match were taking on bottom side Haringey Borough Women. Both Kelley Blanchflower and Amber Cantwell new signings this season scored their 1st goals for Cambridge both netting a hat-trick in the game. There was also a hat-trick for another new addition Amy Howlett. Defender Emma Jenkins also  on the scoresheet with her 3rd of the season. Captain Laura Bright and substitute Lauren Gibson also scoring a goal a piece in a thumping 12-2 win that see them climb to 5th in the table. Julia Carruthers and Shanice Nourrice scoring Haringey’s goals.

The last game to bring you from South East Division One saw Enfield Town Ladies hosting rivals Denham United Ladies. A goal late in the 1st half from Annie Hewitt saw Denham United take a lead into the dressing room at half-time. Enfield hit back 11 minutes into the 2nd half Danielle Smith levelling the scores the way in remained both sides gaining a much needed point taking them further away from the bottom two.

ERWFL Premier Division

A full programme of fixtures played in the ERWFL Premier Division this Sunday and it’s Billericay Town Ladies who continue to set the early pace now winning their 1st 4 opening league matches. A tough trip away to AFC Sudbury Ladies. Goals from captain Lindsey Morgan, Lauren Knight and new signing Dempsey Favell her 1st for the club since joining from Harlow Town Ladies seeing the visitors win 3-1. Mia Etheridge scoring the goal for Sudbury who drop to 2nd bottom in the table.

Writtle Ladies also continue their fine start to the season and continue to score…. and concede plenty of goals in 2nd spot 2 points behind Billericay. Were involved in another high scoring game at the weekend at home to Bedford Ladies. A 7 goal thriller Writtle edging Bedford out 4-3 to take all the points. Eden Kibron with a brace and captain Jodie Molloy scoring for Bedford. Writtle’s captain, Abigail Fry scoring a goal for the home side along with Lucy Jones, Leanne Stubbings and Charlotte Bryant the result ending Bedford’s unbeaten start only the top two remain undefeated now.

   Acle United Ladies move back up to 3rd position in the Premier Division table after securing a late win at home to Cambridge City Ladies on Sunday. The visitors had Laura Mills making her debut and she was on hand to score and put Cambridge City into an early lead. Held onto the advantage going into the half-time break. Acle got themselves back on level terms early in the 2nd half Lauren Bullard scoring the goal. The winning goal coming 5 minutes from time, Megan Todd sending the ball into the back of the net.

   AFC Dunstable Ladies finally got a league win under their belts after 4 attempts this weekend at home to Brentwood Town Ladies. 2 draws and a defeat in their previous 3 games goals from Charlotte South and a Danielle Carty free-kick enough to secure the 3 points with a 2-1 win, Rosi Webb scoring for Brentwood.

 Colney Heath Ladies travelled up to Suffolk on Sunday to play an under strength Lowestoft Town Ladies, having won their previous two matches Lowestoft could only field 9 players which was later to drop to 8 during the game. Despite this managed to score 2 goals but Colney Heath at full strength took full advantage,Christina Freestone top scoring in the game netting a hat-trick. Samantha May and captain Sophie Joseph both scoring a brace, Annie Hickey and Nicola Hollocks also on the scoresheet in a 9-2 that lifts them up into the top half of the Premier Division Table.

  3 straight losses in the Premier Division to start the season for Royston Town Ladies, that all changed this Sunday as they picked up their 1st win of the season in spectacular fashion. At home to bottom side Colchester Town Ladies, 4…yes 4 players all got themselves a hat-trick in a 12-1 win. Sammy Tinsley and Gemma Croucher, along with new signings Becky Shephard and Frankie Smithers her 1st goals for the club since joining from Watton Ladies.

ERWFL Division One North

King’s Lynn Town Ladies should have been in league cup action this weekend but with opponents Offley & Stopsley WFC folding they were instead playing a rearranged league match at home to Ipswich Town Ladies Development. It was King’s Lynn who clinched their 3rd straight win in the league to start life in the higher division and in doing so go 2nd in the table on goal difference behind Histon Ladies. Goals from Oksana Imanalijeva and captain Shelley Woods securing a 2-1 win.

ERWFL League Cup

4 games played in the 1st Round of the ERWFL League Cup this weekend featuring sides from Division One. Stevenage Ladies Reserves were hosting Cambridge United WFC Reserves. It was the visitors who took the lead Liz Pamplin sending her free-kick into the back of the net. Stevenage pulling it back to 1-1, Teonie Peyton scoring to restore Cambridge’s lead. Again Stevenage came back to level, then saw a penalty saved before getting a 3rd goal to win the match and see them through to the next round. A goal for Hayley Wood-Thompson along with a brace for Emily Scofield the goalscorers for Stevenage.

  It was an all Division One North clash in the 1st Round of the League Cup between Wymondham Town Ladies at home to Ipswich Wanderers. Drew 2-2 early on in the league a different result this time around with Wymondham dominant to progress with a convincing win. Kayleigh Holloway putting the home side in front inside the opening 5 minutes. Brooke Cheal-Ferris scoring on 19 minutes to give Wymondham a 2-0 half-time lead. Cheal-Ferris adding another goal a minute into the 2nd half had Wymondham in control of the game, Alice Collins and Laura Wiseman both adding more goals before the 60th minute. Laura Nicholls with a goal on 78 minutes sealing a 6-0 win.

  The other 2 tie featured sides from Division One South, Hutton Ladies at home to Little Thurrock Dynamos Ladies. Amy Crumpler scoring for Hutton, it was Little Thurrock Dynamos who advance in the competition Georgia Fraser scoring twice to secure a 2-1 win.

  Bishops Stortford Ladies and Hertford Town Ladies have been seeing alot of each other recently. Previous meeting in both the league and FA Women’s Cup both going Bishops Stortford’s way this time in the league cup Bishops Stortford the hosts conceded two goals, Bilge Taspinar and Donna Watts scoring for Hertford. Were knocked out of the League Cup as Bishops Stortford won the game 3-2 Rebekah Coppin, Teigan McHale and Brooke White scoring the goals.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

St Albans Ladies are flying high in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One making it 3 wins from 3 to start the season scoring 27 goals along the way. At home to newly promoted Flitwick Ladies this Sunday Sophie Lawrence set the ball rolling scoring in the 8th minute for St Albans. Ellen Slater scoring from the penalty spot on the half hour to double the lead her goal quickly followed by a 3rd from Michaela Johnson. Lawrence getting her 2nd of the game 2 minutes before half time. More goals 2nd half, Nicola Dark getting St Alban’s 5th 3 minutes into the 2nd half. Chloe Reeves and Eleanor Lovelock sealing a 7-1 victory. 

Northwood Ladies had started the season with 2 wins from 2. At home to Sherrardswood Ladies this Sunday had to settle for a point after leading 2-0 at half-time. The visitors pulling a goal back in the 2nd half Northwood scored again making it 3-1 before Sherrardswood scored two more goals to level the scores at 3-3. Claire Cranfield, Yvonne Macalonan and Emma Steele with the goals for Northwood. Laura Cousins and a double for Rhia Rose the goalscorers for Sherrardswood.

Sharnbrook WFC are 3rd in the table as they edged out Houghton Athletic Ladies away from home in a 7 goal thriller to pick up their 2nd win of the season. Ciara Craig, Emily Wilson and Holly Thomson with the goals for Houghton, wasn’t enough to get anything from the game as goals from Gemma Franklin on 17 minutes, Emily Clark and Clare Smith also in the 1st half and a goal from Stephanie Hettle with 15 minutes left saw Sharnbrook to a 4-3 win.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

Garston Ladies 2nd XI made it 2 wins from 2 at the start of the season to go top of the Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two table. Home on Sunday were playing Royston Town Ladies Reserves. Goals from Leah Crockett, Dion Lewis and Charley Kelsey securing a 3-1 win for Garston. Allyson Santini getting the goal for Royston.

Hitchin Town Ladies go 4th in the Division Two table after gaining their 1st win of the season building on last weekends draw away to Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires. At home were taking on Letchworth Garden City Eagles both sides relegated last season. 4 goals from new signing Jessica McNamara sealing the 3 points as Hitchin Town beat Letchworth 4-2. Tayla Murray and Louise Mylles scoring their goals.

The points had to be shared between Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues and Hitchin Belles as they contested a high scoring score draw, Woburn & Wavendon going 3-0 down coming back to level the scores at 3-3 went on to take the lead before conceding in the last couple of minutes 4-4 the final score. Hitchin 3-0 up after 22 minutes, salvaging the draw late on, Amy Jack and Charlotte Peters both getting a goal with Chloe Keller scoring twice. Georgie Payne, Amy Gibbins, Madison Drewett and Bethany Young the goal scorers for Woburn & Wavendon. 

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Welwyn Pegasus Azures are 3 points clear at the top of Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three, new to the league this season made it 3 wins from 3 with victory at home to Evergreen Ladies on Sunday edging the score 2-1 thanks to goals from Janiece Allen and Sevi Djemal. Natalie Maher scoring for Evergreen Ladies.

Also starting the season with a 100% win rate are Bedford Ladies Development made it 2 wins from 2 away to Potters Bar United Ladies on Sunday, Jade Nairn scoring for Potters Bar, Jessica Bunnage for Bedford the scores level at 1-1 at half-time. Bedford going on to lead 2-1 through Paige Abraham in the 68th minute, Bunnage with her 2nd of the game with 15 minutes left, Cayleigh Jackson made the 3 points secure with a 4th goal in the 90th minute.

  A good weekend for both the Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses sides as the Clarets also won picking up their 1st win of the season in their 3rd league game at home to bottom side Bedwell Rangers Ladies. Charlotte Demmon scoring the opening goal on 10 minutes for Woburn & Wavendon. Lauren Revell and Grace Woodman putting Woburn & Wavendon into a 3-0 lead inside the opening 20 minutes. Leah Tomlin pulled it back to 3-1 for Bedwell 5 minutes later before 2 quickfire goals from Dominique Hull on the half hour saw the home side leading 5-1 at the break. Erin Dabbs scoring Woburn’s 6th goal. Jessica Sullivan pulling a goal back for Bedwell. Demmon with her 2nd of the game in the 70th minute Woburn & Wavendon winning 8-2 moves them into 4th in the Division Three table.

Norfolk Women’s Division One

North Walsham Angels Ladies remain top of Norfolk Women’s Division One following last weekends 12-0 home win over Long Stratton Ladies were pushed all the way to claim a 2nd successive win by Wymondham Town Ladies Reserves this time around. North Walsham leading 3-2 at the break going on to win 5-4! Luci Middleton scoring a double hat-trick last weekend followed that up with another 3 goal haul this Sunday, Emma Faux and Hope Middleton getting North Walsham’s other goals.

Joining North Walsham on 7 points at the top of the Division One table are Sprowston Ladies. Away to Long Stratton Ladies this Sunday, a brace for Rebecca Russell along with a goal for Thea Hackney helping the visitors to their 2nd win of the season the final score 4-0.

  Gorleston FC Ladies remain undefeated after 3 games. Were at home to Stalham Town Ladies on Sunday at Emerald Park having drawn their opening two league matches last season’s Division Two Champions drew for the 3 successive time to take a point from the game the score 2-2, Kelly Allen and Samantha Hunn scoring the goals for Gorleston.

At last last season’s Division One Champion’s, Thorpe United Ladies were beginning the defence of their title, have seen several departures from the club over the summer. Were away to Fakenham Town Ladies without a point from their opening 2 league games. A narrow lead for Thorpe at half-time 1 goal to the good different story 2nd half as they went on to start with a convincing win Shanice Sutton scoring 4 goals, Charlotte Groves with a hat-trick seeing Thorpe win 7-0. Early days in the league not many games played Bungay Town Ladies match at home to Aylsham postponed have played just the one league game, Aylsham yet to get started.

Norfolk Women’s Division Two

 

Bure Valley Wildcats Ladies, Charlie Cooper

A few new sides joining Norfolk Division Two this season, young sides too and the step up has been tough for Gorleston Rangers Ladies facing tough and experienced opponents in their opening 2 games losing away to relegated Kirkley & Pakefield FC Ladies in their opening match were at home to one of the strongest teams in the league this Sunday, Tavern Ladies. Starting with a 7-0 win Tavern followed that up with big win at Gorleston. Katie Hart-Copsey netting a double hat-trick for Tavern. Sophie Fuller scoring a hat-trick too. Their were braces for Lucy Kean and Jordie Head with Lucy Lincoln also getting a goal in a 14-0 that takes Tavern top of the table. 

  Matching Tavern with 2 wins from 2 at the top of the table are FC Sprowston Ladies. At home on Sunday to the then league leaders Beccles Town Ladies who had won their opening 2 games. FC Sprowston holding a 3-0 advantage at half-time doubled that goals tally 2nd half to win 6-0. Jade Dodds scoring a hat-trick, the other goals coming from Katie Fray, Nicole Read and Joanna Davey.

 Bure Valley Wildcats Ladies lost their opening game of the season at home to Beccles Town Ladies 7-2. Were away for their 2nd league game against fellow newcomers Costessey Sports Ladies. The sides went in goalless at the break, Bure Valley finding the back of the net 2nd half, Charlie Cooper scoring 4 goals with Abigail Clark also on target in a 5-1 win to get their 1st win in women’s football.

Essex Women’s County Cup

3 more games from the 1st Round of the Essex Women’s County Cup settled this Sunday. 4 goals from Chloe Sams plus one for Rebecca Gallagher saw Premier Division side Corringham Cosmos over come Division One newcomers Rayleigh Town Ladies to progress through to the 2nd Round of the competition. 

Frontiers Ladies required extra-time to progress through to the 2nd Round drawn away to fellow Premier Division side Chigwell Ladies in the 1st Round. Frontiers leading 2-1 at half-time Chigwell found an equaliser in the 2nd half to force the game into the extra half-hour. Frontiers then going on to score twice more to win 4-2 their goalscorers, Kay Foy and Freya Liiv with Adele Hughes scoring twice. Victoria Parker scoring both the goals for Chigwell.

 It was an all ERWFL Division One clash in the 1st Round with North side Silver End United Ladies hosting South side Harlow Town Ladies. A brace for Davina Smith along with goals for Abbey Dell, Lucy Sende and Paige Horwood sending Harlow Town through to the 2nd Round win a 5-1 win.

Essex Women’s Premier Division

Not much action in the Essex Women’s Premier Division yet with only half the sides playing 2 games so far, Corringham Cosmos and Lawford Ladies not of the mark yet in the league. Eastern Avenue were starting their league campaign at home this Sunday taking on Chelmsford City Ladies who had won their opening league game of the season. A close game a single goal winning the match was scored by Eastern Avenue’s Katie Peers with 20 minutes left to see them win their 1st league game.

  Also starting their league campaign were Collier Row Tigers away to newly promoted Harlow Town Ladies Reserves. The visitors moving straight into 2nd position with a comfortable 5-0 win a hat-trick for Laura Bunton along with a goal each for Daisy Chapman and Helen Moriera.

Hutton Ladies Reserves were another side starting their league season on Sunday at home to Runwell Sports Ladies who had lost their opening match of the season. A close 1st half Runwell Sports led Hutton 2-1, Rachel Selfe and Samantha Delves with their goals. Delves added her 2nd goal 5 minutes into the 2nd half. Frances Murphy making it 4-1 Gemma Vine making the final score 5-1 in the last 10 minutes.

Essex Women’s Division One

5 games played in Essex Women’s Division One this Sunday, Hullbridge Sports hitting double figures away from home against Benfleet Villa Ladies to make it 2 wins from 2 at the top of the league. Broghan Kelly scoring 4 goals in the match, Jennifer Lyttle getting a hat-trick. Megan Murray scored a brace for Hullbridge and their were goals each for Danni Dorrington and Patricia McWeeney in an 11-0 win.

Leigh Ramblers Ladies are up to 2nd spot in Division One after beating Dagenham & Redbridge Ladies away from home on Sunday. Te score level at 1-1 at half-time Leigh Ramblers went to to score 3 goals in the 2nd half to win 4-1. Madeleine Archer scoring twice with a goal a piece for Emily Diwell and Katherine Newton. Pauline Adeyemo scoring in the 1st half for Dagenham & Redbridge.

Alresford Colne Rangers relegated from the Premier Division last season began their league campaign with a good win away to Billericay Ladies Reserves on Sunday. Joanna Harvey netting a hat-trick the other 4 goals were shared amongst, Vicki Hall, Claire Rouse, Cassandra Villa and Jasmine Warner, the win putting Alresford straight into 4th position in the Division One table. 

Brentwood Town Ladies Reserves won their 1st game of the season on Sunday beating FC Clacton Ladies away from home this Sunday. Chloe Williamson scoring a hat-trick with Emma Hooke also on target with a goal in a 4-2 victory.

Also getting their league season off to a winning start are Walden Ladies also relegated from the Premier Division after last season at home to Chelmsford City Ladies Reserves a hat-trick for Kim Jeffery and a goal for Samantha Sunday starting them off with 3 points.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

Netherton United Ladies extended their winning run at the start of the season to 3 games in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership at the weekend. Away to Cambridge City Development. A brace for Sasha Haw giving Netherton a 2-0 half-time lead the advantage was doubled in the 2nd half goals from Alice MacNichol in the last 15 minutes and Emily Johnson securing the points with a 4-0 win.

  Newmarket Town Ladies go 2nd in the table as they won their 2nd match in the Premiership to keep up their own 100% winning start. Away to ICA Sports Ladies. Goals from Jess Linger, Lauren Deller, Hollie Turner and Abbie Marshall seeing Newmarket take all 3 points courtesy of a 4-1 win. Jessica Farchina scoring for ICA Sports.

  A big win at home for St Ives Town ladies saw them win their 1st league game of the season were at home to Park Ladies. Amy Seymour-Shove netting 4 times in the game. Georgia Stancombe with a hat-trick Tierney Coulson also scoring an own goal completing a 9-2 winning margin the 3 points putting St Ives into 3rd spot in the fledgling Premiership table.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

Battle between the top two in the Cambridgeshire Championship North on Sunday with leaders Wisbech Town Ladies away to 2nd placed Ketton Ladies both winning their 2 opening matches in contrasting fashion, Wisbech Town hitting 32 goals without reply in their 2 games, Ketton clinching a narrow win against Hungate Rovers home and away to get their 6 points. A closer game for Wisbech Town this time around Wisbech Town ending Ketton’s winning start beating them by 3 goals to 1 to move onto 9 points 3 clear at the top of the table. 2 more goals for striker Sophie Gutteridge along with a strike from Shushannah Feast.

Starting the season with 2 narrow defeats against Ketton Ladies, Hungate Rovers Ladies were away to new side Pinchbeck United Ladies at the weekend. Kelsey McKenna found the back of the net scoring 7 goals in the game for Hungate Rovers. Lauren Barnes scoring a brace with Bianca Taylor also grabbing herself a goal in a 10-0 win that see Hungate Rovers up to 3rd with the sides below playing less games.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

Just the one match played in the Championship South at the weekend 3rd placed Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds at home to 2nd placed Cambridge Rangers Women both starting the season with a win. Early days in the league a handful of games played 2 sides yet to get off the mark. Marie Stubbings was on target scoring 5 goals for Fulbourn with Emma Clark and Yasmine Upson getting a goal a piece to see Fulbourn win 7-1 and move to the top of the table.

Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup

 One game played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup this weekend with Championship South side Histon Ladies Reserves hosting Championship North side Spalding United Ladies in the 1st Round. A huge win for Histon to see them progress. Kirsty Lemmon-Sparks top scoring in the match with 5 goals. Elsewhere the goals were shared out Samantha Cousins getting a brace. Daniella Briggs, Katrina Brown, Hannah Gordon, Katie Webb, Sophie Wing, Carly Dawson and Casey Bull all getting a goal in a 14-0 win.

FAWPL Southern Division

Following the action in midweek on the FAWPL Southern Division, leaders Charlton Athletic Women were looking to extend their winning run at the start of the season to 6 games as they played host to 3rd placed C&K Basildon Ladies the other only unbeaten side in the league on Sunday. Kit Graham opened the scoring for Charlton netting in the 21st minute. Charlotte Gurr adding a 2nd goal for Charlton 5 minutes before the break to see them leading 2-0. Katie Flack extended the lead for the home side on the hour mark. Emma Sherwood introduced in the 68th minute scored for Charlton on 72 minutes the lead 4-0. Angela Addison pulling a goal back for C&K Basildon. Goalkeeper Nikita Runnacles saving a penalty for the visitors who suffer their 1st league defeat of the season, Charlton 6 wins from 6 are 5 points clear at the top.

Lewes FC Women are on an incredible run 3 successive 1-0  home wins including a late winning goal against unbeaten Crystal Palace Ladies in midweek, are now up to 2nd in the Southern Division table as they extended that run of wins to 4 in the league on the road this time playing Chichester City Ladies. It was the home side in good form themselves who took the lead 20 minutes into the game Chloe Tucker firing home. Katie McIntyre pulling Lewes level with 10 minutes of the 1st half left to play. The winning goal coming early in the 2nd half Rebecca Carter putting Lewes ahead on 54 minutes.

Portsmouth FC Ladies having started the season well had suffered 2 narrow 1-0 defeats to stall their momentum in the league, earned a point with a 2-2 draw at home to Chichester City Ladies in midweek. It was late drama at home on Sunday against West Ham United Ladies that saw them win all 3 points. 0-0 going into the last 10 minutes of the game, Shannon Seivwright put Portsmouth ahead in the 84th minute. West Ham responded and Chenise Austin put the ball into the back of the net to level the scores in the 88th minute. Rachel Panting winning it for Portsmouth 3 minutes into injury time, the win lifting Portsmouth back up the table into 5th spot.

FAWPL South East Division One

AFC Wimbledon Ladies beat Actonians Ladies 3-0 on Thursday night to make it 4 wins in a row to take them to the top of the FAWPL South East Division One table. Weren’t in action on Sunday and the two sides that could have retaken top spot both suffered defeat.

One of those was Luton Town Ladies were at home playing new promoted Leyton Orient WFC. The sides had met in the same fixture in the Determining Round of the FAWPL Cup at the start of the month, Leyton Orient picking up their 1st win of the season 4-2. Since then Leyton Orient have won twice in the league to climb the table. That good form continued on Sunday, Sarka Stryhalova putting them into the lead in the 17th minute added a 2nd goal just past the half hour. Sophie Le Marchand scoring late in the 1st half to put the visitors 3-0 up. Chanel Richards making it 4-0 in the 2nd half a 3rd straight league win lifting Leyton Orient into 2nd.

  Ipswich Town Ladies were on a high travelling down to play Enfield Town Ladies on Sunday after beating East Anglian rivals Norwich City Ladies 5-0 in midweek. Enfield with just one win on the board going into the game were 2nd bottom. Brought Ipswich back down to earth with a good 1st half, Alena Berganovic scoring to put the home 1 up on 9 minutes. Two quickfire goals just past the half hour from Lisa Kline and captain Regan Coleman giving Enfield a 3-0 1st half lead. Ipswich threatened a comeback 2nd half goals from Natasha Thomas and Jacqueline Ball making it 3-2 Enfield held on for their 2nd league win of the 2nd. Ipswich Town having led the table after their midweek win remain 3rd in the table suffered huge blow however despite the derby win it was marred by an injury to goalkeeper Leanne Smith has snapped her ACL an operation to come, wishing her all the best for that and the recovery that follows.

A late goal in midweek away to Milton Keynes Dons Ladies saw Cambridge the last remaining side in FAWPL South East Division One lose that tag. At home on Sunday looking to bounce back against Denham United Ladies. Goalless after the 1st 45 minutes it was Denham who took the lead early in the 2nd half Sophie Cheadle on target. Cambridge responded with 2 goals to go in front Lauren Gibson then captain Laura Bright scoring from a corner. Into the last 5 minutes and a great goal from Annie Hewitt saw Denham level the scores at 2-2 to see the points shared.

FAWPL Cup

 Two sides from the FAWPL Southern and South East Division One were drawn to play in the Cup competition’s preliminary round. Southern Division, Crystal Palace travelling down to the South Coast to play Poole Town Ladies from South West Division One. Gemma Bryan putting Crystal Palace in full control of the game scoring 5 goals in the 1st half, giving her 19 goals already from just 7 played. Was substituted early 2nd half giving Poole a little respite. Nikita Whinnett extending the scoreline in the 65th minute. Ellie Stenning ad Sandra Martin both grabbing a goal in the last 10 minutes for the visitors in an 8-0 win.

  Also travelling to the South Coast in the FAWPL Cup preliminary round were Actonians Ladies from South East Division One taking on South West counterparts Southampton Women both sides starting the season well, little separating them goalless after 90 minutes the game heading into extra-time. Actonians conceding early on through an own goal Jane Yeates doubled Southampton’s lead in the 1st period of extra-time to see them progress through to the 1st Round.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

St Albans ladies continue to set the early pace in Beds & Herts Division One starting the season well building on last weekends 12-1 win continued to find the back of the net again at home this Sunday against Sherrardswood Ladies. Sophie Monahan scoring twice in the 1st 10 minutes to put St Albans into the lead Ellen Slater scored to put the home side 3-0 in the opening quarter hour. Michaela Johnson getting a goal on 32 minutes, Sherrardswood pulling a goal back to make it 4-1 3 minutes later Laurie Marris scoring. Johnson went on to score for St Albans just a minute later completing her hat-trick a minute before half-time. Monahan completed her own hat-trick on 63 minutes. Chloe Reeves also scoring for St Albans with 15 minutes left as they ran out 8-1 winners scoring 20 goals in their opening 2 matches.

Also making it 2 wins from 2 to start their season in Division One are Northwood Ladies away to Watton Ladies on Sunday. Victoria Lieberman scoring midway through the 1st half to see the visitors 1 up at the break, Claire Cranfield making it 2-0 20 minutes into the 2nd half. Jenny Hunnable making the points secure with a goal for Northwood in the last 5 minutes.

  Garston Ladies started their season with a home game against Sharnbrook WFC who scored on 10 minutes Charlie Mullins on target. Garston took all 3 points however going on to win the game 3-1 with goals from Alice Frost, Kelly Kirwan and Caroline Tenebaum putting them 4th in the table.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

In Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two on Sunday their were 4 games played. Evergreen Eagles were on the road taking on Hitchin Belles the newly promoted side collecting all 3 points taking them to the top of the table. A brace for Christie Brewer along with strikes from Samantha Feeney and Samantha Takis seeing Evergreen Eagles win 4-1. Chloe Keller scoring the goal for Hitchin Belles.

  Joining Evergreen Eagles on 4 points at the top of the Division Two table are Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires. At home to Hitchin Town Ladies the points were shared in a 2-2 draw. Georgina Harvey and Chemise Huitson scoring for Welwyn. Hitchin Town got their 1st point on the board courtesy of goals from Sherrie Evans and Megan Franklin. 

   Garston Ladies 2nd XI got off to a great start in the league beginning their campaign away to last season’s Division Three Champions, Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues. Lauren Berryman opening her season with 4 goals for Garston. Leah Crocket scoring twice along with a goal for Maxine Hotz the final score 7-1. Woburn’s goal coming from Victoria Herald.

Lastly in Division Two, Letchworth Garden City Eagles were beginning there season at home to Royston Town Ladies Reserves. The away side with the narrow victory to claim their 1st win of the season beating Letchworth 2-1 thanks to an early goal from Abby Laughlin the 2nd scored by Hannah Tofts. Katie Smith with Letchworth’s goal. Early days but just like last season this league looks like it’s going to be very competitive once again.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Crazy scenes in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three as Shefford Town & Campton Ladies win 2 matches in a row at the start of the season to lead the way in the table. At home on Sunday facing Bedwell Rangers Ladies, Louise Grocott scoring a brace with goals for Vikki Ransom and Chloe Tate plus an own goal sealing a 5-1 victory for Shefford. Jessica Sullivan scoring the goal in the 1st half for Bedwell Rangers.

  Also winning their 2 opening league matches in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three are new side Welwyn Pegasus Azures, an early 10 minute hat-trick for Janiece Allen putting Welwyn 3-0 inside 20 minutes. Woburn & Wavendon came back into it Catriona Roxburgh pulling a goal back on the half hour mark Shelby Archer adding a 2nd 5 minutes later. 3-2 it remained Welwyn keeping their opponents at bay to collect the 3 points.

  Evergreen Ladies picked up their 1st win of the season at home to Potters Bar United Ladies on Sunday. Winning the match 3-1 thanks to goals from Rebecca Freeman, Natalie Maher and Danielle McMullen. Lauren Englefield with the goal for Potters Bar.
