Essex Women’s Premier Division
Like the other county leagues across the East there was a limited fixture list in Essex this Easter Sunday. In the Essex Women’s Premier Division there were 2 matches played. 3rd placed Chelmsford City Ladies were away to bottom side Walden Ladies, despite conceding twice the visitors won the games 4-2 with Tyler Christou hitting a brace along with a goal a piece for Mia Brisley and Shannon Hughes. The win moving Chelmsford City level on points with 2nd placed Lawford Ladies.
7th placed Beacon Hill Rovers Ladies were at home on Sunday taking on Chigwell Ladies a place below. 2 goals for Jo Smeaton plus a goal each for Grace Leavett and Rosie Vina seeing the take all 3 points with a 4-1 win.
Tiptree & District Women’s Charity Cup
Having missed out on a place in the League Cup Final last weekend, Lawford Ladies were aiming to reach the final of the Tiptree & District Women’s Charity Cup where their opponents would be Harlow Town Ladies the cup holders. In their way were Essex Division One side Frontiers Ladies, Essex Women’s Trophy winners unbeaten in the league, the visitors scored 3 goals with Jill Bartholomew, Sharon Ferguson and Shannon Hardinges all on target, Lawford however responded with double the goals to win the game 6-3 to book their spot in the final, date and venue to be announced.
