Essex Women’s Premier Division
The weekends weather playing it’s part in Essex this weekend with half of the scheduled league games affected, just the five games taking place across the two divisions. The Premier Division seeing the top two in action both at home and significant results as Leigh Ramblers young guns open up a 6 point lead at the top of the table with their 10th successive win, 8 of those in the league. A double figure win this Sunday against Beacon Hill Rovers Ladies. Kate Newton top scoring for Leigh Ramblers takes her tally to 23 for the season with a hat-trick. Paige White also celebrating a hat-trick this Sunday. Amy Jacobs getting a brace has 9 now for the season as does Rebecca Dalgarno scoring one against Beacon Hill, Chloe Gilligan also getting a goal the final score 10-0.
Up next for Leigh Ramblers is a trip to Collier Row Tigers who themselves are in a rich vein of form, 4 wins in a row now scoring 33 goals along the way to move up to 4th in the Premier Division with a big result away to 2nd placed Frontiers Ladies this Sunday. A 2nd defeat of the season for Frontiers having recently lost their 100% winning start to Leigh Ramblers, Collier Row Tigers racing into a 5-1 half-time lead going on to record an 8-2 victory. Emma Harrison and Sarah Finch both scoring a brace. Finch moving onto 12 for the season is joined at the top of the goal scoring charts by Laura Bunton who has found her feet back in front of goal now hitting 4 into the back of the net on Sunday. Dempsey Favell and Kay Foy with the goals in each half for Frontiers.
Essex Women’s Division One
A two week break for Dagenham & Redbridge Ladies in Essex Women’s Division One, in that spell they have see Billericay Town Ladies Reserves take over the lead. Billericay without a fixture this Sunday, Dagenham & Redbridge were back in action at home looking to continue thier 100% winning start to the league 8 wins became 9 as they won comfortably against Chelmsford City Ladies Reserves. Without top scorer, Amy Jacobs, Dagenham & Redbridge have goalscorers all over the pitch, Morgan Duffield netting a brace, there were goals each for Jodie Barden, Grace Tebb-Reading, Juliet Thomas & Sade Walters in a 6-0 win. Dagenham & Redbridge joining Billericay at the top of the table on 27 points.
The leading pair a well clear of the chasing pack, 11 points no the gap to 3rd spot with a new side moving into that position, FC Clacton Ladies winning away from home on Sunday to climb the Division One table. Goals from Amy Hartley, Megan-Leigh Lawrence & Charlotte Warren seeing Clacton edge the result 3-2 over Runwell Sports Ladies to claim the 3 points.
Belhus Ladies are off the bottom of Division One as the newcomers claim their first win of the season this Sunday. A single goal enough to earn them the 3 points away from home against Chigwell Ladies. Amber Elliot with her first goal of the season seeing Belhus celebrate the win.
