Essex Women’s Premier Division
Like everywhere else across the country the over night rain affected the fixtures in the Essex Women’s County league’s with just 4 games surviving in all competitions with just the one league game being played in the Premier Division this Sunday. That game saw Corringham Cosmos at home to bottom club Brentwood Town Ladies Reserves who travelled with just the 10 available. Corringham struggling for players themselves at times this season have only won two games previously one of those against Brentwood, their last league win back in October. Michelle Sumpter getting Corringham off to a good start opened the scoring in the 10th minute went on to add a further 2 goals before half an hour was played to complete a 1st half hat-trick, Nicole-Marie Mitchell also scoring for Corringham in the 40th minute to see them comfortably leading 4-0 at the break. A quieter 2nd period, Corringham extending the lead with 20 minutes to go with top scorer Rebecca Gallagher celebrating her 13th goal of the season.
