1st versus 2nd in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One this Sunday with league leaders Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires travelling to 2nd placed Houghton Athletic Ladies looking to open up a 4 point lead at the top of the table. Braces for both Ellie Burke and Janiece Allen as they finished up with a comfortable win, Mary Lisle, Patience Ndlovu and Chemise Huitson all claiming a goal each too for Welwyn in a 7-2 to victory. Shakeela Hussain and Louise Spendelow scoring for Houghton Athletic who have no lost their last 3 league games after winning their 1st 3 to lead the table early on.
Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies take advantage of Houghton Athletic’s defeat as they climb into 2nd place in the Division One table winning their 3rd successive league game this Sunday. Were away to Sherrardswood Ladies. Lizzie Richardson hitting 4 goals into the back of the net for the visitors. Top scorer Natasha McConville adding another to her tally too along with a 1st goal of the season for Charlene Turturici-Clarke in a 6-0 win for Hemel Hempstead.
Playing just their 3rd and 2nd league games respectfully this Sunday defending champions St Albans Ladies were at home to newly promoted Garston Ladies 2nd XI. St Albans remain unbeaten with their 2nd league win of the season to lift them up to 4th in Division One. New signing Jessica McNamara scoring twice has 10 goals now from 5 appearances in the league and cup. Ellen Slater also scoring a goal has 6 now as St Albans won the game 3-1. Holly Jury scoring the goal for Garston Ladies 2nd XI.
Beds & Herts Women’s League Cup
One outstanding tie to be played in the 2nd round of the Beds & Herts Women’s League Cup, Division One side Northwood Ladies, finalists last season at home to Royston Town Ladies Development from Division Two. Claire Cranfield scoring a brace for Northwood as they progressed to the quarter finals with a 3-0 win. Emma Steele celebrating the other goal.

There was some heavy rainfall around at the weekend affecting a handful of games Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two the most affected with 3 of the 4 scheduled league matches called off. Letchworth Garden City Eagles match at home to Evergreen Eagles the sole survivor, 2nd placed Letchworth consolidating their league position with a 4-0 win top scorer Tayla Murray scoring a brace. Katie Smith also getting a goal with Lottie Cartwright scoring her 1st goal for Letchworth as they close the gap to Hitchin Town Ladies at the top to 4 points with 2 games in hand.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three
Leaders, Langford Ladies opened up an 8 point lead at the top of Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three at the weekend a 6th straight league win coming at home on Sunday up against Stotfold Juniors Ladies. A comfortable win in the finish for Langford with Chloe Scott joining top scorer, Amber Clark on 15 goals for the season as she hit 4 into the goal. Clarke herself getting a goal, Pearl Houghton also scoring her 2nd of the season, Katie Gayner finding the back of the net for her 1st goal of the season in a 7-0 win.
2nd placed AFC Kempston Town and Bedford College Ladies dropped points for the 1st time this season as their 100% winning start was brought to an end by local rivals Kempston Rovers Ladies on Sunday in Division Three. Celebrating their 1st ever league win last time out Kempston Rovers the visiting side earned themselves a point with goals from Chelsea Rose-Jeffery and Megan Dimmock in a 2-2 draw. Katie Hay scoring both of the goals for AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies who remain 2nd on 10 points, have 3 games in hand on the leaders, Langford.
Matching AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies record of 3 wins and a draw from 4 games played are AFC Dunstable Ladies Reserves as they move into 3rd position in the Division Three table. Opening the season a draw the newcomers have now won 3 in a row as they cruised to victory at home to Buntingford Town Ladies on Sunday. Bianca Vassell netting 5 times last time out scored a hat-trick this Sunday to move onto 11 goals for the season for Dunstable. Holly Wilks scored twice with Nicole Cameron and Ameerah Zaman-Choudary both scoring their 1st goals of the season in an 8-1 win.
Just a point behind the 2nd & 3rd placed sides are Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses as they bounced back form their 1st defeat of the season against AFC Dunstable Ladies last weekend with a narrow home win against Biggleswade United Ladies. Leeanne Davison scoring twice for Biggleswade, goals from Laura Johnson, Amelia Glean and Lucy Bloye with her first goal of the season saw Woburn & Wavendon clinch victory with a 3-2 result.
