Match Report – Bowers & Pitsea Ladies v Luton Town Ladies

Sunday 8th December

ERWFL Premier Division

Back on the road this Sunday, a trip down to Essex to watch a game from the ever competitive ERWFL Premier Division, Bowers & Pitsea Ladies v Luton Town Ladies.

Highly competitive in the ERWFL Premier Division this season, Harlow Town Ladies leading the way opening up a gap at the top with 9 straight wins unbeaten so far this season. Incredibly close behind with just 5 points between the sides 2nd to 9th in the table. The standard improving year on year.

Bowers & Pitsea Ladies playing at the highest level the club has been at winning promotion to the ERWFL Premier Division last season following a 2nd placed finish in Division One collecting their first piece of silverware too the Essex Women’s Trophy. Going from strength to strength since becoming Bowers & Pitsea having previously been Little Thurrock Dynamo’s. The main club itself housing excellent facilities that ground undergoing redevelopment. The core of the squad made up of players who have been with the club since it started this season bringing in a few new faces to bolster the ranks, Donna Fletcher from Hatfield Peveral, also joining from Hatfield Peveral attacker Yasmin Cowley who scored plenty of goals for her previous club as Hatfield rose through the league injured for much of last season undertaking a scholarship in America come the end of the season. Danni Jennings and Megan Harley from Rayleigh Town Ladies also coming in along with Sade Walters and goalkeeper Violet Hickman.

Made a promising start in the Premier Division winning three of their opening 4 matches a run of poor results followed but the club have improved getting back to winning ways back to back wins putting them back amongst the chasing pack well clear of the bottom. Announcing this week an addition to their management team, Terry Harrison coming to the club from Harlow to work along side Darren Fraser and Daniel Foord. Brings with him coaches Scott Chickelday and Ray Wells as the club looks to kick on.

Luton Town Ladies suffering relegation from the FAWNL last season. Following a period of relevant success in South East Division One challenging for a top 4 finish on several ocassions. Lost a few experienced players blooding alot of young players. Continue to do so have a strong youth set-up with several doing well for the first team. Have brought in defenders Elly Wade and Tanya Blacksley to give experience at the back. Set the early pace in the Premier Division as they look to bounce back straight away. A run in the FA Women’s Cup seeing them fall away from the top, amongst the chasing pack have lost just the once this season. Jess McKay top scorer on 11 goals not available today. Missing a few other presenting opportunities for younger players manager Nikki Baker giving 16-year-old Ellie Sargeant her first start. The sides meeting already this season in the FA Women’s Cup, Luton winning 3-0.

The Len Salmon Stadium the venue for today’s match the ground undergoing redevelopment a state of the art 3G playing surface and surrounding barrier already installed plus seated stands either side of the dugouts. The new addition the main stand a new one being build. Covered seating above the new changing rooms with plans ongoing for more improvements. The old clubhouse with bar and large function room. The weather overcast but dry little threat of rain the sun low in the sky quite a strong wind blowing from one goal mouth to the other.

An accident on the M25 causing heavy delays affecting Luton’s journey kick-off put back 10 minutes. Luton switching ends at the coin toss to have the wind at their backs first half, Bowers & Pitsea to get the game underway wearing red and white vertical striped shirts, red shorts and socks. Luton in their all navy away kit. The ball pressed in the middle Luton gain possession play the ball out to the left wing, Olivia Abraham looking to take the ball on Keira Adcock across to defend gets fouled in the process winning a free-kick.

Bowers & Pitsea bringing the ball on through the middle Yasmin Cowley on for Courtney Fraser she spreads play to the right, Ebony Moore looking to get in behind is tackled by Luton’s Tanya Blacksley. Bowers & Pitsea getting players up to press Luton in their final third, captain Taylor Adcock in to win the ball Ebony Moore almost through to the right can’t quite take the ball in her stride. Cowley fouled inside the Luton half a free-kick to Bowers & Pitsea players up as Donna Fletcher sends it in towards the top of the area the ball running through to Georgia Fraser right of the D, aims to turn into the shot Rebecca Ferris throwing out a leg defending for Luton, Bowers & Pitsea press the ball not cleared out to the right Taylor Adcock winning a corner taken short a shot blocked on the edge of the area, Bowers & Pitsea keep the pressure on the ball put across to Georgia Fraser left of goal curls a ball in towards goal, Kezia Hassell with a low catch claiming the ball in goal for Luton.

A good start from the hosts closing the ball down well spreading play. Luton come forwards Ferris on the right putting the pass on for Rebecca Kane running into the channel, Danni Jennings going with her for Bowers & Pitsea putting in a great tackle to win the ball back. Jennings called into action at the back moments later for Bowers & Pitsea again against Kane as a fortunate deflection sees the attacker run in behind taking the ball into the area forced left by Jennings recovering well the defender preventing the cross. Luton beginning to find some momentum of their own Ferris forwards as the visitors attack making a run into the box as the ball is helped on Bowers & Pitsea goalkeeper Violet Hickman down bravely to save at her feet.

Courtney Fraser with a long range shot struck 30 yards out off target as a defensive clearance is put straight to her. The wind behind then Luton have pace in attack with Kane and Funmi Babalola looking to make runs central and into the channels. Erica Byron getting forwards from a central position as the ball is fed through to her left side outside the box good close ball control jinks inside getting a shot away as she is closed down the ball put wide across the face of goal.

GOAL! 15 minutes gone and Luton open the scoring with a goal that is as route one as you’ll ever get. The ball in the hands on Hassell at the back launches it forwards wind assisted the Bowers & Pitsea centre backs both go for it and both miss bouncing on in behind Kane is clear to take it on into the box and set herself to send it wide of the keeper 0-1.

The tail wind strong and Luton are looking to use it to their advantage, a high clearance from Ferris on the right puts Kane away on the flank and she races after it, the angle against her as she strikes the ball on the volley her cross/shot put across the face of goal. Byron left side strikes a shot from 25 yards out the ball racing wide past the far post. Bowers & Pitsea build through the middle Taylor Adcock out to Ebony Moore right side down the line cuts it back for Georgia Fraser to fire in a diagonal ball low towards the near post Cowley with the run, Elly Wade defending for Luton.

Kane a constant threat in attack for Luton getting in behind after the ball put long on the left wraps her foot around the ball crossing the ball in towards the near post, Hickman able to get her gloves around the ball first not put off by Babalola running in. Folan defending for Luton, firstly stepping out from the back to break up a Bowers & Pitsea move through the middle, the 2nd time heading behind for a corner as the ball is crossed in from the right. The delivery from the corner over Fletcher jumping near post falls to Georgia Fraser no shot on lays it back to the top of the area for Courtney Fraser her ball fizzed back in collected by Cowley can’t dig it out of her feet to get a shot away before being closed down.

Abraham is brought down on the left attacking for Luton a free-kick awarded. Luton captain Zara Carroll a dead ball specialist to take out wide players forwards into the box she takes on the shot struck well the ball smashing against the crossbar dropping down into the area presented to Byron outside the six yard box her instinctive shot sent over on the volley.

The game quite open Bowers & Pitsea enjoying the better possession getting the ball forwards well the final ball lacking at times Luton keeping a good shape at the back. Kane in attack for Luton getting hold of the ball 25 yards out drives on twisting and turning to get into the area, Jennings getting back on her lunging in to make the tackle prevent her shooting the ball loose comes to Abraham to strike outside the area fires it wide across goal

Half an hour gone and Bowers & Pitsea make the first change Fletcher coming off at the back to be replaced by Danielle Styles. Hassell kicking the ball long again bouncing on through Kane looking to get it under control, Jennings having given herself space to adjust getting to her to make the challenge and win the ball back. Megan Harley taking the ball on down the left makes ground winning a throw in in the corner, the ball headed on from the side of the area looping up, Hassell can claim above her head no one coming in, her resulting kick up field running on getting Luton a corner.

Ellie Sargeant solid in the middle along side Carroll for Luton gets forwards running into space right as players are attracted to the left firing in a low cross Hickman down well at the top of her six yard box to pluck the ball into her body.

GOAL! 35 minutes played and Luton double their lead, Byron making some useful runs from midfield forwards in the left as Luton build 25 yards out strikes the ball well, a looping shot that flies over the keepers head and into the back of the net 0-2.

Harley with a great ball forwards cuts inside Luton defend, Cowley regains possession central presses on closed down top of the area plays it wide to Ebony Moore who wins Bowers & Pitsea a corner. Whipped in central taken confidently by Hassall. Attacking right side a throw in high up the pitch Keira Adcock plays in Ebony Moore tuning inside the box to get a shot away drilled wide at the near post. Bowers & Pitsea enjoying a strong spell towards the end of the first half another corner won left side Georgia Fraser putting in across the face of goal met on the volley at the far post by Jennings send over.

Entering the closing 5 minutes of the first half Bowers & Pitsea on the attack Harley on the ball left side playing the pass on for Courtney Fraser making the run into the channel cuts inside well to deliver a cross central into Georgia Fraser her first touch wrong footing the defender giving her space to shot set to pull the trigger Carroll dives in get a foot in to block the ball. Bowers & Pitsea keep the pressure on a throw won deep on the left Georgia Fraser crossing in Cowley can’t get it under control cleared out to the top of the box Keira Adcock latching onto it her shot held by the keeper.

Luton always ready to break hit Bowers & Pitsea on the counter Kane peeling off the defence onto a through ball to turn and strike left of the D, Hickman making a good save with her legs keeping the ball out. Carroll fouled bringing the ball forwards 35 yards out picks herself up to take it put in on target Hickman behind it palming the ball up clattering into the post as she pushes it away from the advancing attacker chasing in on the follow up. Okay after treatment. Bowers & Pitsea with one last attack in the first half Courtney Fraser winning the ball her pass forwards unable to fin Georgia Fraser running clear on the right, cleared straight to Cowley right outside the area can’t get a clean strike of the ball her scuffed shot gathered by the keeper.

Luton leading 2-0 at the break have created the better opportunities in front of goal using the wind to their advantage. Solid at the back Bowers & Pitsea unable to get in behind have enjoyed the majority of the possession looking to move the ball around get players forwards the final ball lacking at times and the clinical finish lacking. Trailing by 2 goals pressure late on to try and find a goal to narrow the advantage Luton always ready to hit on the counter attack.

A change for Bowers & Pitsea at half-time Sade Walters on for Courtney Fraser. The light starting to fade and with it the wind as Luton get the 2nd half underway. Taylor Adcock putting her foot in to win the ball in the middle for Bowers & Pitsea passes the ball forwards for Fraser she looks to release Ebony Moore on the right in behind the ball running into the box, Hassell quickly out able to claim first for Luton. Bowers & Pitsea pushing forwards at the start of the 2nd half Harley’s shot from outside the box taking a deflection as it runs wide across the six yard out out for a corner. The delivery into a congested six yard box, Luton scramble it away to safety.

Kane beating the offside trap runs in behind central into the box, Jennings with a great recovery to get back on her putting in a challenge six yards out to prevent the shot getting the ball back to her keeper. Cowley up the other end 30 yards out with time and space not closed down encouraged to shoot puts the ball wide. Up the other end Kane is played through central into the box gets a shot away Hickman sliding in to block saving well the rebound out favouring her defence to clear.

Play stopped for an injury as Sargeant and Holly Moore collide the latter coming off worse is okay after receiving treatment. A higher line from Bowers & Pitsea now as they look to get a goal back Kane finding room in behind as she moves across the field away to the right strikes a shot on the half volley on target fizzed in Hickman palms the ball up into the air taking the catch even as Byron closes her down on the line. Hickman catching well from another Kane ball in from the right as she moves across the back line to get in behind beating the flag.

Luton make a change with just over 20 minutes left to play, Abraham coming off on the left, coming on Jade Horsley to make her Luton debut. Sophie Dowman on for Bowers & Pitsea replacing Ebony Moore. Jennings with more superb work in defence for Bowers & Pitsea first defending against Kane as she looks to get away then standing up to block Babalola as she looks to drive on with the ball. The floodlights needed are switched on.

The game open both sides looking for the next goal Bowers & Pitsea to pressure Luton late on, the visitors to make the 3 points safe Luton’s Horsley adding pace to the attack runs into space on the ball whips a great cross in across goal Babalola racing in heads over from six yards out.

Carroll back to cut out a cross put in from the left, Harley getting a 2nd opportunity to put the all in lands on the roof of the net. Byron brought down in the middle a free-kick for Luton another opportunity for Carroll to put the ball forwards knocked down well by Kane central top of the area into the path of Babalola her shot from 20 yards out straight into the gloves of the keeper. Ebony Moore back on for Bowers & Pitsea with a good piece control central lays the ball back for Holly Moore to curl in a shot from 25 yards out doesn’t trouble the keeper the game entering the final 5 minutes.

The wind returning getting decidedly chilly too. Harley firing in a shot from range drops short controlled by Fraser turns to lay it back to Dowman top of the box leaning back her attempt put over the bar.

GOAL! Into the final minute and Luton hit Bowers & Pitsea with a late sucker punch to kill off the game. Byron lifting a great pass forwards Kane having beaten the offside trap on several ocassions is offside this time but no flag raised continues her run carrying the ball to the top of the area right of the D puts her foot through the shot sending a fiercely struck low drive past the keeper 0-3.

From the restart Fraser takes on the long range effort in an attempt to catch the keeper off guard, falls short however Hassell gathering. Kane and Babalola combining in attack on the right winning Luton a corner kick, defended by Fraser, Bowers and Pitsea race forwards on the counter attack Holly Moore carrying the ball forwards on to Ebony Moore inside to Dowman 25 out lays it back to Holly Moore to hit first time the ball racing narrowly wide of the post.

Luton winning 3-0 to claim the 3 points lift them up the Premier Division table. A solid performance keeping it tight at the back waiting for their opportunities to attack, 3 clinical finishes to win the game. Tight at the back hard to break down. Bowers & Pitsea enjoying good spell of possession moving the ball well, just lacking in the final third, good opportunities created just not exploited.

Women’s Football East – Player of the Match

Onto this afternoon’s Women’s Football East – Player of the Match, several contenders as usual. For Bowers & Pitsea no doubting has to be Danni Jennings put in a real shift at the back on hand on several ocassions to put in the vital tackle. Overall hard to single out an individual for Luton the defence solid keeping a good shape. Carroll in the middle and Kane up front with some good runs the award though goes to Erica Byron several timely runs through the middle setting up Kane for her 2nd goal and a superb hit for her goal.

Always competitive in the ERWFL the Premier Division a strong league this year. Good to get a trip down to Essex in been a while. Safe to say I haven’t missed the M25 though. My thanks to both clubs for the team details as ever much appreciated.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

Getting tight at the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership now with the gap closed on the leading pair Leverington Sports Ladies and Haverhill Rovers Ladies. The later seeing their game away to Riverside Ladies abandoned due to pitch conditions in the 2nd half, Haverhill were leading 3-1 at the time will wait to see the outcome.

Leverington were hosting Peterborough Northern Star Ladies Reserves on Sunday. The league leaders missing a couple of key players including top scorer Sophie Swinden through illness. Peterborough with a fast start taking the lead inside the opening 20 seconds, strong at the start were 2-0 up on 15. Leverington building coming back into the contest Chloe Stanborough picking the ball up 20 yards out driving in a shot off the post to bring it back to 2-1 had her 2nd of the game to bring it level at 2-2 before half-time. Peterborough having the better of the play early in the 2nd retaking the lead going to the score a 4th goal. Stanborough getting her hat-trick to pull it back to 4-3 but despite a strong finish Leverington were unable to find a 4th goal Peterborough winning 4-3 up to 4th in the table with their 4th win of the season now 3 points behind the leading pair. Ella Gavaghan scoring a brace with a goal each for Georgia Clarke and Ellie Spendelow.

St Ives Town Ladies Development losing narrowly to leaders Haverhill Rovers Ladies last time out bounced back this weekend away to Histon Ladies Reserves to climb up to 3rd in the Premiership table and close the gap to the top to just 2 points. A first St Ives goal for Poppy Lyons and one from Ruth Fox winning the 3 points as the visitors edged the scoreline 2-1. Sophie Lanham with the Histon goal.

A high scoring match between Cambridge University Women and visitors Ketton Ladies at the weekend the pair sharing 9 goals. An early kick-off Ketton edging the goals 5-4 to record back to back wins to climb briefly up to 4th in the Premiership table before the afternoon’s results saw them pushed back down to 6th usefully placed however after 6 games 5 points off the top.

March Town United Lades also on the move up the Premiership table after they too recorded back to back wins in the league this weekend away to Cambridge City Ladies A. Josie Turner scoring the opening goal before Eleanor McLeish went on to score a hat-trick to see the match won 4-1. March up to 8th in the table joining Cambridge on 9 points have games in hand on all above.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship

Cambridge Rangers Women keep on winning at the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship keep 7 points clear of the rest with a 9th straight win at the start of the season their 100% record continuing away t new side Deeping United Ladies on Sunday. Their opponents however proving a tough nut to crack with a single goal enough in the end to keep their record intact. Top scorer Daniella Lewis with the vital goal her 13th so far this season.

Mildenhall Town Ladies also new to the league this season continuing their good start in 2nd are 5 points clear in 2nd spot after winning away from home this weekend were taking on Burwell Tigers Ladies who had just the 10 available. Did well to keep Mildenhall at bay until late in the 1st half a quick fire double from Rachel Barrett her first for the club and an 11th of the season for Katie Hayes seeing Mildenhall leading 2-0 at the break. Charlotte Nash with a 2nd half brace sealing a 4-1 victory for Mildenhall. Megan Seabrook-Mead with the goal for Burwell.

Pinchbeck United Ladies are matching leaders Cambridge Rangers 100% winning record so far this season albeit they have played just five games so far and have plenty in hand almost a month since their last league match were away to Eaton Socon Ladies who in that period had overhauled them in the league. A close scoreline Pinchbeck emerging victors taking the game 2-1 at the final whistle. Libby Friel making her first start scoring on her debut with Rebecca Navarette also scoring. Mollie Childerley with the Eaton Socon goal their 4 match winning streak coming to an end.

In contrast Newmarket Town Ladies Development extend their winning run to 4 matches in the league following a poor start, now well placed in mid-table were hosting Isleham United Ladies this weekend in the Championship. Talia Irvine scoring a brace with Jordanne Sillitoe scoring 4 goals to see the game won 6-1. A milestone for Sillitoe in her 2nd spell with Newmarket the first women to reach 50 goals for the club in just 36 games a talent, her first goal coming against Cambridge United Reserves back in 2015.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

With leaders Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies not in action this weekend in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One it was a chance for the chasing sides to close the gap. Hemel Hempstead with a healthy lead having a 100% record so far this season. St Albans Ladies trailing Hemel Hempstead by 9 points having 2 games in hand. Playing one this Sunday were at home to bottom side Hitchin Belles. The visitors finding life in Division One tough after winning the Division Two title last season. Without a point on the board so far from 6 this season. St Albans in good form scoring goals too Cally Salter getting the hosts off the the perfect start putting them 1 up within a minute. Top scorer Eleanor Lovelock and a goal from Ellen Salter seeing St Albans 3-0 up inside 10 minutes. Hitchin awarded a penalty Amy Jack pulling it back to 3-1 from the spot. St Albans strong in the first half, Sophie Hull putting the hosts 4-1 up on 20 minutes, Lovelock going on to complete a first half hat-trick with Cally Salter also scoring a 2nd. A quieter 2nd half a spirited performance from Hitchin despite the scoreline St Albans getting an 8th goal in the 73rd minute Lovelock scoring her 4th of the game and 19th of the season. Two quickfire goals coming late on for Jessica Cavaree her first of the season for St Albans. Winning 10-1 St Albans move into 2nd spot in the Division One table 6 behind Hemel Hempstead.

Hitchin Town Ladies previously 2nd fall 2 places to 4th in the Division One table as they were defeated at home to Northwood Ladies on Sunday. The visitors with a 3rd straight win in the league moving up the table after collecting just 2 points from their opening 3 matches games in hand on all above with be pushing for a top three finish. Emma Steele scoring a brace for Northwood takes her onto 6 for the season a brace too for Clara Morillon her first goals for the club along with one for Honor Cantrell in a deserved 5-2 victory. Holly Darling and Emma Chaffey from the penalty spot for Hitchin Town.

Hartham United Ladies also climbing the Beds & Herts Women’s Division One table this weekend up to 3rd in the table now after winning their 4th match of the season away to Royston Town Ladies Development at the weekend. Janiece Allen top scoring for Hartham Unite this season and she was on target for the opening goal this Sunday to put them 1 up. Royston hitting Hartham on the break coming back to level it up at 1-1, Eve Chappell scoring. Katherine Calvert on hand to restore Hartham’s lead latching onto a clearance put into her from outside the box to send in under the bar. A 3rd goal quickly following Allen with her 2nd of the game. Clinical finishing from the attacker as she went to to complete her hat-trick and secure a 4-1 win for Hartham with her 14th goal of the season.

Tight in the middle of the Division One table Garston Ladies 1st well amongst the mix too. Were away to Houghton Athletic Ladies on Sunday. A solid start to their 2nd season in the top tier. A first goal of the season for Maddie Gorton, one from captain Leah Crockett and a 5th of the season for Holly Jury helping Garston to a 3-1 victory to put them on 11 points to keep them in touch with the sides above. Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

All very tight in the top half of Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two too with just 8 points between the top 6 sides now. League leaders AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies losing their 100% winning start at home to Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses on Sunday. A close scoreline Woburn & Wavendon edging the result 3 goals to 2 to win their 4th successive match following an opening day loss still back in 5th with 2 games in hand on AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College who have 18 at the top. Garston Ladies Vintage Purples back in action after two weeks were at home playing Watton Ladies in Division Two this Sunday. 4th in the league Garston hitting the crossbar early on were dominating play, Samantha Roads with the opening goal, the ball falling to her 25 yards out struck well to find the top corner. More opportunities presented the lead just 1-0 at the break. Watton coming out of the blocks at the start of the 2nd half Garston keeper Vicki Duffy with a couple of saves. Jane Hales scoring on the volley to give Garston a 2-0 lead 10 minutes into the 2nd half. A dispute over whether a 3rd goal was scored direct from a corner in the end ruled out. Yasmin Sabri putting in a 20 yard shot to give Garston a crucial 3-0 lead Emma Trill adding a 4th straight form another corner kick late on.

An eventful match the last time these two sides met the the cup it was no different in the league this weekend between Sherrardswood Ladies & Evergreen Ladies. 7-4 then after extra-time. This weekend the points were shared after Evergreen came back from behind 3 times to level the match at 3-3 come the full time whistle. Sherrardswood with an early lead Manjinder Atwal with her 5th of the season after just 3 minutes. Evergreen coming back to level with Grace Gibbons scoring her first goal for the club. Abby Cardell with her first of the season putting Sherrardswood back into the lead late in the first half. Time for Evergreen to respond captain Rebecca Freeman scoring her 5th goal of the season from a free-kick just outside the box. 2-2 at half-time a quieter 2nd half by comparison, Sherrardswood retaking the lead inside the final 10 minutes with Victoria Little on target for her first goal. Evergreen coming back to level for a third time in the dying moments of the match Gemma Arnett heading in from a corner kick to see the points shared.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Two matches played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this weekend. Also an away win awarded to Harvesters Ladies seeing them go 3 points clear at the top of the table over Herts Vipers who weren’t in action. Joining Herts Vipers on 18 points are Biggleswade United Ladies winning their 6th league game of the season at home to Kempston Rovers Ladies on Sunday continuing to apply pressure to the top two. Leeanne Davison ahead in the goal scoring charts for Biggleswade on target for her 17th goal of the season. Kayleigh Saunders moving onto 12 also on the scoresheet. Also amongst the goals this season are Zoe Molloy and Angelica Fachechi both scoring a goal each with Biggleswade winning 4-0 their winning run extended to 6 in all competitions.

Stotfold Juniors Ladies were at home playing Bedwell Rangers Ladies this weekend in Division Three. Jessica Sullivan netting a brace for Bedwell Rangers taking her tally to 7 for the season. Stotfold Juniors taking the 3 points however scoring 3 to win the match 3-2. A first half brace for Georgia Dollman putting her on 5 for the season with Chloe Ward netting her 8th of the season with 15 minutes left to play. The 3 points taking Stotfold Juniors above Bedwell Rangers into 6th place.

Essex Women’s Premier Division

Just the one match beating the weather at the weekend in the Essex Women’s Premier Division. With Billericay Town Ladies Development hosting bottom side Beacon Hill Rovers ladies who had picked up their first win of the season last weekend. Came close once again scoring twice with Ella Sach and Jo Smeaton from the penalty spot on target for a goal each. Billericay coming out on top however to collect the 3 points with Rebecca Gallagher moving into double figures for the season scoring a brace along with a goal for Tyler Christou in a 3-2 victory.

Essex Women’s Division One

In contrast a full programme of fixtures in Essex Women’s Division One on Sunday with 4 matches played. Leaders Corringham Cosmos Women the side not in action. Remain well clear at the top of the table however. 2nd placed Aveley Ladies in a poor run of results arrested a run of 3 straight defeats with a point at home to Bowers & Pitsea Ladies Development last weekend. This weekend they were hosting bottom side Chelmsford City Ladies Reserves themselves without a point on the board so far this season. That all changed on Sunday with Chelmsford at last celebrating a win and 3 points. Amara Drummond netting a brace for Aveley. So too Kesley Honeywood for Chelmsford her first goals of the season. Molly Butcher making her first appearance for the Reserves also on target with a goal along with an own goal that saw Chelmsford win the match 4-2.

That result sees 3rd placed Runwell Sports Ladies close the gap to Aveley to a point as they won the 3 points at home to Bowers & Pitsea Ladies Development on Sunday in Division One. Runwell leading 2-0 at half-time. Grace Tebb-Reading and Ellie Jones scoring for Bowers & Pitsea in the 2nd period. Runwell themselves going on to score a further 3 to clinch a 5-2 win. Megan Marney scoring twice, with goals too for Ashley Debnam, Aaryanna Simonelli and Rebecca Pope with her first goal of the season.

Very tight below in mid-table in Division One with Chigwell Ladies on the charge up to 4th in the table on on the back of a 4th straight league win. Ending the year in great form the latest 3 points coming away to Tigers Ladies this weekend who themselves aren’t in bad form. Stefanie Sylvester delivering two pinpoint crosses for Leah Mills to put away inside the box seeing the match won 2-1, an own goal conceded up the other end.

Norfolk Women’s Division One

A handful of fixtures played across Norfolk this weekend with just the four in total across 3 competitions. Two games played in Norfolk Women’s Division One. Thetford Town Ladies promoted to the league this season making a tough start showing signs of improvement in their last few matches earning their first league point 3 weeks ago, took fellow promoted side Long Stratton Women all the way to penalties in the League Cup last weekend before eventually being knocked out. Long Stratton once again their opponents in the league themselves making a solid start in Division One solid in mid-table. Long Stratton with the bare 11, Charlie Head with her 5th goal of the season and Summer Whiting getting her first for the club. It was Thetford though who were celebrating at the final whistle clinching their 1st league win of the season winning 4-2 with both Melissa Boulton and Laura Martins scoring a brace.

In the other game played in Division One the points were shared between Wymondham Town Ladies Reserves and Fakenham Town Ladies both sides only able to field the bare 11. The pair contesting a goalless draw. The point seeing Fakenham’s recent run continue now unbeaten in 4 matches takes them up into the top half of the Division One table for the first time since regaining promotion to the league.

Norfolk Women’s Division Two

One match played in Norfolk Women’s Division Two this weekend top versus bottom with leaders Stalham Town Ladies hosting Bulldogs Ladies. The bare 11 for the visiting side. Stalham strong from the off scoring plenty of goals to win heavily and move 4 points clear at the top, 7-0 up at half-time added a further 8 in the 2nd period to win 15-0. Top scorer Amber Mayhew moving into double figures on target for a brace. Not the top scorers at the weekend Andrea McCombe opening her account with 4 goals. A hat-trick too for Emma Gillespie. Darcey Burdett another scoring her first goals netting a brace along with first goals of the season for Sian Clarke and Carla Beane. A couple of own goals too.

Norfolk Ladies League Cup

One game two played in the 2nd Round of the Ladies League Cup in Norfolk at the weekend, Thorpe United Ladies top of Division One making a 100% winning start away to fellow league side Taverham United Ladies. Captain Rebekah Lake in form in front of goal once again this season for Thorpe smashed home 7 goals at the weekend to move onto 19 goals for the season. Joanne Hooper netting a brace with the final score reaching double figures 10-0 to put Thorpe through the the quarter finals. Sophie Jermy with the other goal.

It has been a tough start to women’s football for University of Suffolk Women, into their 2nd season have struggled for numbers in their opening 10 matches, losing heavily on a number of ocassions without a point on the board, despite that continue to battle on spirits high, another tough game at the weekend as they played host to league leaders Brettvale Ladies in contrast yet to drop points in the league this season, in form scoring goals. University of Suffolk able to the bare 11, Brettvale with a strong attack soon firing in the goals. Tarnya McKew with plenty of experience in the game netting 5 goals in the match to take her onto 12 for the season. Abbie Fisher, top scoring for Brettvale so far this season on target for 4 goals to keep her one ahead in the goal scoring charts on 13. Hat-tricks for both Amie Chippendale and Lucy Brown the latter with her first goals of the season. Claire Turnbull and Sheryl Nokes also amongst the goals 19-0 the final score. Brettvale opening up a 5 point lead at the top of the table with 2nd placed Alresford Colne Rangers not in action.

Needham Market Women awarded the 3 points a home win against AFC Kesgrave Ladies climb back up to 3rd a point behind Alresford still with a 100% themselves with 2 games in hand on Brettvale.

The battle for top half places as tight as ever below the top three and Bury Town Women 4th in the Suffolk Women’s Division table winning a 3rd straight league game and 5th overall in all competitions. At home this weekend playing Brightlingsea Regent Ladies. Olivia Hodges scoring a brace their were goals too for Kirsten Hutchings Stacey Roper an Mia Bambury in a 5-2 victory. Paige Knight and Hannah Goldsmith scoring the goals for Brightlingsea.

Matching Bury Town Ladies on 21 points 5th in the Suffolk Women’s Division table are Woodbridge Town Ladies. Themselves making it 5 wins from 5 in all competitions with a good result away to Henley Athletic Ladies on Sunday in the league. Attackers Jenna Liverpool and Keira Hines with the bulk of their goals this season both amongst the goals again this weekend, Liverpool with a brace and Hines with one to see Woodbridge run out 3-0 winners have a combines total of 37 goals for the season so far.

Having everyone looking over their shoulders in the top half of the Suffolk Women’s Division table are Holland Ladies. The newcomers having lost way back on the opening day haven’t looked back since winning every game since, 6 straight league victories and with games in hand on everyone places to potentially gain. Their latest win coming at home this Sunday against Brantham Athletic Ladies. A strong first half from Holland seeing them dominate to have a firm grip on the points at the break leading 7-1. Brantham stepping up their performance 2nd half, Holland goalkeeper Ellie Cox making some excellent saves. Brantham managing to add another goal, Holland too to see the match end 8-2. Both Jasmine Cox and Charlotte Warren scoring a hat-trick each for Holland. Michelle Hodgson making her debut also on target with her first 2 goals for the club.

The final action to bring you from the weekend features another clash from the other end of the table. Chantry Grasshoppers Ladies celebrating their first win of the season and 3 points last weekend against University of Suffolk Women, were at home to Ramsey & Mistley Ladies who themselves had earned a good point against Alresford Colne Rangers. Both looking for more points as they met on Sunday, Chantry hosting. A close match it was Ramsey & Mistley who were at long last celebrating a league win as they emerged 2-1 victors to win the 3 points, Holly Hammond and Farren Varty-MacDonald with the goals. Suffolk Women’s County Cup

One outstanding tie left to play form the 2nd Round of this season’s Suffolk Women’s County Cup taking place this weekend, Haverhill Rovers Ladies Development hosting Beccles Town Ladies. Haverhill keeping Beccles at bay despite the visitors creating opportunities to score in the 1st half the sides going in at 0-0 at half-time a different story in the 2nd half. Beccles opening the scoring through Lucy Robbens firing across the goalkeeper into the bottom corner. A 2nd goal soon following Robbens again the scorer. Beccles bringing on Francesca Catchpole introduced to the action for the first time, an exciting new addition to the squad her football put on hold due to a nasty ACL injury that had her out of action for 15 months soon after she was celebrating her first competitive goal for the club. Robbens going to the complete her hat-trick would go on to add a 4th goal. Catchpole marking her return to football with a further 3 goals herself to see Beccles Town win comfortably 8-0 and set-up a quarter final tie away to Needham Market Women to be placed in Sunday 19th January.

Harlow Town Ladies fantastic start to the season continues unabated as they move 8 points clear at the top of the ERWFL Premier Division with their winning streak moving onto 9 matches. The only points dropped to date way back on the opening day draw against Wymondham Town Ladies. Harlow’s 9th straight win coming on the road this weekend a trip to Bedfordshire to played AFC Dunstable Women. A 7-1 win in the reverse fixture back in September. AFC Dunstable working hard to improve, Harlow not at their best at the weekend still finding the back of the net for three goals to come away with the three points. Abbey Dell, Chloe Bassett and a 19th of the season from Becky Shephard securing the victory.

Plenty of challenges to come for Harlow as the chasing pack look to close them down and take points off each other in the process, with 2nd placed Wroxham Women’s match away to St Ives Town Ladies postponed it was an opportunity for Royston Town Women to move above them as they played host to Colney Heath Ladies. Top scorer Rebecca Vass finally breaking the deadlock to put Royston 1-0 up at half-time with her 17th strike of the season. Colney Heath have their own goal machine this season Samaira Khan prolific in front of goal since joining in the summer putting the visitors level early in the 2nd half. A goal disallowed for offside, Vass then fired Royston back in front with her 2nd of the match Colney Heath responding straight away to equalise for a 2nd time, Khan with her 2nd of the. Khan then bringing up her hat-trick to put Colney Heath into the lead with 80 minutes left to play. 19 goals for Khan now. Royston frustrated at conceding awarded a late minute penalty, Joanne Rutherford stepping up to take and salvage a point. Enough to take Royston 2nd in the Premier Division table.

Games in hand on the three sides above them Peterborough Northern Star Ladies climb up to 4th in the ERWFL Premier Division table with their 4th straight league win. At home this Sunday playing Bedford Ladies. Winning 3-1 in the reverse fixture back in September their good form continued as they emerged 5-2 winners to collect the 3 points. Leah Cudone netting a brace top scorer this season with 12 so far. Emma Pollard alos on target for a goal along with Evie Driscoll-King and Faith Horner scoring her first goal for the club. Priya Bhatti and Natasha Fensome scoring the Bedford goals.

Peterborough Northern Star Ladies, Faith Horner

Bowers & Pitsea Ladies ended a run of 5 straight losses with a great result away to Colney Heath last time out winning 2-1. Were looking to build on recent performances having made a good start to life played in the ERWFL Premier Division for the first time. Away to bottom side Haringey Borough Women this weekend. The Essex side taking the lead on 18 minutes Georgia Fraser cutting the ball back towards the top of the area for Megan Harley to put away her 9th goal of the season. Fraser setting up the 2nd goal too flicking the ball on for Yasmin Cowley to run in behind the defence and score 6 minutes later. A 3rd goal coming late in the first half Taylor Adcock captaining the side scoring her 1st of the season firing in a 35 yard free-kick. A comfortable lead for Bowers & Pitsea at half-time. Donna Fletcher with a 30 yard shot putting the visitors 4-0 with nearly an hour played. An own goal adding a 5th in the final 10 minutes, Haringey netting a late consolation in the final minute, Bowers & Pitsea up to 8th winning 5-1.

ERWFL Division One North

With the leaders, Cambridge City Ladies Development seeing their match away to Gorleston Ladies called off on Sunday it was an opportunity for 2nd placed East Bergholt United Ladies to close the gap to within a point at the top should they win away in their Suffolk derby with AFC Sudbury Ladies this weekend. Megan Partridge formerly of Sudbury putting East Bergholt into the lead. Sudbury with a chance to level from the penalty spot, Becca Stephenson clinical with her 5th goal of the season to make it 1-1. Sudbury going on to taking the lead Charlene Roach finding the top corner from close range. Amy Thompson showing good footwork inside the box getting a shot away taking a wicked deflection onto the post and back across the line to grab her first for the club. Evie Creaton with a bullet header down into the East Bergholt goal to celebrate her first of goal to put Sudbury 4-1 ahead. Georgia Lockerbie with a late goal pulling it back to 4-2 for East Bergholt. Sudbury’s new look young side picking up just their 2nd league win of the season, the first of course against leaders Cambridge City Development.

Needham Market Women’s match away to Histon Ladies also postponed on Sunday it’s now getting very tight in the middle of the Division One North table, King’s Lynn Town Ladies finding their form after losing their opening two league matches, a 3rd straight win coming away to Newmarket Town Women on Sunday. Emma Corbyn with her first goals of the season netting a brace. Captain Becky Russell with a goal taking her onto 8 so far this season. Nikita Morris also on the scoresheet in a 4-0 result with her first goal for the club.

ERWFL Division One South

A full fixture list in ERWFL Division One South at the weekend. Hutton Ladies leading the way a perfect start winning 4 from 4 were looking to make it 5 from 5 as they played host to bottom side Wodson Park Ladies, the Hertfordshire side still looking for their first points of the campaign with 5 straight defeats. Hutton scoring plenty of goals, in particular top scorer Vicky Kinsman on target once again this weekend to bury 4 more goals taking her to 28 for the season in just 8 matches. Kate Lowen also celebrating a goal as the Essex side ran out 5-1 winners.

Looking to chase Hutton down are Stevenage Ladies Development and Millwall Lionesses 2nd and 3rd level on 10 points each after 4 played both unbeaten meeting this weekend Millwall the away side fielding the bare 11 on Sunday battling to a goalless draw at the break. Shannan Drewe firing home her 11th goal of the season putting Millwall into the lead early in the 2nd period. Millwall fighting to keep their lead intact a clean sheet for Kelly Webster seeing Millwall win the 3 points to en Stevenage’s unbeaten record and move 3 points clear in 2nd spot.

A high scoring match to end this weeks ERWFL Round-Up. Initially listed a 0-0 on full-time was told on two fronts it actually ended 9-5 between Lawford Ladies and Hoddesdon Town Owls Ladies. Corrected on full-time now but still reading a 0-0 at half-time I don’t believe that either. A tough start to the season for both Lawford earning their first point of the season against Leigh Ramblers Ladies 3 weeks ago back in league action this Sunday away to Hoddesdon with just the 10 available. Conceding 5, battled through to hit their opponents for 9 up the other end to win their first game of the season. Daisy Canny often Lawford’s talisman on target for 7 goals in the match. Nancy Bulter with a brace scoring her first goals of the season.

Beginning this weeks Round-Up’s with the Women’s FA Cup, into the 2nd Round and there were plenty of upsets across the country with several Premier Division sides going out to lower league opposition on Sunday. 8 ties played this weekend involving clubs from the Southern Premier and South East Division One.

A trip west for Southern Premier Division leaders Watford Ladies in the 2nd Round of the Women’s FA Cup taking on fellow league side Keynsham Town Ladies. A difficult first half for Watford coming close but not finding a goal the sides drawing 0-0 at half-time. Watford starting the 2nd half strong both Katie O’Leary and Helen Ward shooting over the bar. The deadlock finally broken in the 63rd minute, Emma Beckett’s ball into the box met by O’Leary flicking it off the back of her head to find the top corner. 2 minutes later and the visitors were 2-0 in front O’Leary with the assist this time to tee up Andrea Carid on the penalty spot to fire home. Alysha Stojko-Down returning from injury getting on the scoresheet in the 90th minute rounding a defender to shoot and score from 20 yards out sealing a 3-0 win.

The first of this weekend cup shocks seeing Crawley Wasps Ladies 2nd in the Southern Premier Division knocked out away to South East Division One side Actonians Ladies. Top scorer Alessandra Barreca with a great strike that gave the keeper no chance making it 1-0 to Actonians in the 17th minute. Crawley with a chance to level the scores late in the first half awarded a 45th minute penalty captain Naomi Cole with the finish to bring it back to 1-1. Cole taking over in goal for Crawley after Frankie Gibbs was forced off through injury. Actonians retaking the lead 2 minutes into the 2nd half, Barreca from the penalty spot scoring her 13th of the season to put the hosts 2-1 up. Chances for both sides following saves from both keepers Actonians pressurising Crawley well getting a vital 3rd goal in the 82nd minute Meila D’Santos striking an amazing goal to put them 3-1 ahead and send Actonians into the 3rd Round.

Actonians opponents in the 3rd Round will be fellow South East Division One side Billericay Town Ladies after the Essex side 2nd in the table alos knocked out Southern Premier Division opposition in the 2nd Round on Sunday. The game played at Aveley FC, Billericay were taking on Gillingham Ladies. Therese Addison putting Billericay in front with a superbly struck ball from 25 yards out chipping the keeper. Gillingham fighting back to level the scores past the half hours, Alice Bussey played in on goal right getting a shot away on the angle to equalise. The winning goal coming in the 2nd period Billericay with a corner on the left fired into a crowded six yard box, captain Lindsey Morgan bundling it in to see the tie won 2-1.

South East Division One leaders Ipswich Town Ladies also knocking out higher league opponents in the Women’s FA Cup albeit less of a shock as they travelled South to take on Southern Premier Division side Chichester City Ladies bottom of the table. Ipswich in fine form scoring plenty of goals taking an early lead defender Lindsey Cooper heading in from a corner in the 9th minute. Further chances coming the lead double midway through the 1st half Ipswich awarded a penalty after Abbie Lafayette was brought down inside the box, Paige Peake stepping up to make it 2-0. Ipswich dominant in the first half going further ahead as striker Natasha Thomas catches the Chichester defence in possession and takes on a shot from 30 yards out, looping in for her 15th of the season. 15 goals for the season too for captain Amanda Crump after she was played in to score Ipswich’s 4th in the final minute of the half. A quieter 2nd period, Sophie Peskett played in on the right to make it 5-0 10 minutes into the 2nd half, Thomas with her 2nd of the match rounding the keeper in the 90th minute to see the tie won 6-0.

An own goal the difference between the sides at the break in the all Southern Premier Division 2nd Round tie between Hounslow Women and Cardiff City Ladies. The welsh side travelling to the capital with the advantage. A different story 2nd half as Cardiff got to grips with their opponents Cori Williams in particular putting the visitors 2-0 ahead in the 54th minute going on to score a quickfire double to complete her hat-trick a 4th goal for Williams with 20 minutes left putting Cardiff 5-0 up. Josie Longhurst getting on the scoresheet with 10 minutes left on the clock to score her first goal for the club.

Three more Women’s FA Cup ties going the distance and beyond into extra-time and penalties. Milton Keynes Dons Ladies coming through to advance in cup competitions on penalties twice this season both in the FAWNL Cup were involved in their 3rd of the season in their 2nd Round match this weekend away to South West Division One side Southampton Women FC. The pair ending the 90 minutes in a goalless stalemate the game heading into the extra half-hour. Milton Keynes finding the break through in the 1st period of extra-time Dominika Netschova putting the visitors into the lead. Southampton with a last gasp equaliser at the end of the match, Lauren Cheshire finding the back of the net to send the tie into penalties. Wasn’t to be third time lucky for Milton Keynes, Southampton goalkeeper Rose Kite saving two penalties helping her side to clinch a 3-2 shootout win and advance into the 3rd Round.

Plymouth Argyle Ladies were away in the Women’s FA Cup playing fellow Southern Premier Division side Oxford United Women in the 2nd Round on Sunday. Goals from Helen Bleazard and top scorer Natasha Knapman seeing the visitors leading 2-0 at the break. Oxford coming back well in the 2nd half Georgia Timms pulling it back to 2-1 with 18 minutes left, Gemma Sims equalising 6 minutes later to send the tie into extra-time. Oxford going on to take the lead in the 1st period, Sims with her 2nd of the game making it 3-2. Plymouth responding Bleazard with her 2nd of the game levelling the scores at 3-3 early in the 2nd half of extra-time. Kayley Lane firing in a late winner in the final minute of extra-time to see Plymouth advance.

For the 2nd successive weekend Yeovil Town Women were hosting South West Division One leaders Southampton FC Women. A close game last week going all the way into extra-time Southampton knocking Yeovil out of the FAWNL Cup. Meeting again this weekend in the Women’s FA Cup the game was no less close and had to be decided from the penalty spot. A goalless first half between the sides Southampton taking the lead in the 63rd minute Alisha Ware scoring to give the visitors the advantage. Yeovil pushing for an equaliser Annie Heatherson getting free to strike from outside the box a brilliant strike to beat the keeper right before the final whistle 1-1 the game going into extra-time. No further goals scored Southampton striking the post, the game to be settled on penalties. Southampton coming out on top yet again dispatching all five of their penalties to take the shootout 5-4.

The draw for the 3rd Round Proper of the Women’s FA Cup seeing 9 ties made the winners setting up a potential tie with a FAWSL or Championship club as the top two tiers enter the competition in the 4th Round. Norfolk Ladies League Cup

A cup weekend in the NWGFL with the Ladies League Cup reaching the 2nd Round stage. 4 ties played this weekend with 2 two called off and one never happening in the 1st place but read ob to find out why. Holders Sprowston Ladies playing in another Sprowston derby match were at home to Sprowston Athletic Ladies once again coming out on top. Leading 1-0 at half-time scored twice more without reply in the 2nd half to progress to the quarter finals with a 3-0 victory. Ellie Hall on target for a brace has 6 more for the season for Sprowston with Chelsea Brister also scoring.

Division One side Fakenham Town Ladies were away to Division Two newcomers North Walsham Angels Ladies in the 2nd Round of the League Cup on Sunday. Both sides with the bare 11 available. Fakenham running out 4-1 winners to reach the quarter finals, Sophie Lubbock with a brace as 7 goals now since arriving at the club in the summer twin sister Vicky also scoring a goal with Jemma Riches putting the ball into the back of the net for her first of the season. In the other two League Cup matches played at the weekend the ties went all the way to penalties, an all Division One clash saw Long Stratton Women hosting Thetford Town Ladies on Sunday. Katie Ransome putting Long Stratton into the lead. Thetford Town improving of late scoring the equalising goal in the 90th minute, last seasons top scorer Melissa Boulton off the mark this campaign making it 1-1. The tie heading to penalties Long Stratton edging the shootout 3-2 to make the last 8.

Also going to penalties was the all Division Two tie between Waveney Ladies and Horsford Women. Meeting in the 2nd Round of the League Cup. Amanda Vincent with her first goal of the season putting Horsford into the lead. 1-0 up at half-time Waveney came back to level the scores in the 2nd half, extra-time following nothing to separate the sides into the penalty shootout Waveney scoring 5 out of 5 winning it 5-4 to progress.

Norfolk Women’s League Cup

This one snuck through the Women’s Football East net because I was convinced it was being played this coming Sunday and had Thorpe United not told me otherwise as their League Cup match was affected I wouldn’t have realised. However Taverham United Ladies were away to Hockering Ladies in the Norfolk Women’s County Cup their 2nd Round tie postponed due to the weather the Sunday before. Hockering improving this season in Division Two with a good result beating Taverham 8-2 to reach the quarter finals of the competition where they will once again be at home in the New Year taking on Sprowston Ladies.

Essex Women’s County Cup

One outstanding game from the 3rd Round of the Essex Women’s County Cup played this weekend, Premier Division side Billericay Town Ladies Development at home to ERWFL side Hutton Ladies. The game postponed the weekend before. Hutton making a strong start to the season have Vicky Kinsman once again amongst the goals, on target to add four to her total rapidly closing in on 30 once again. Kate Lowen, Sally Appleton and captain Abigail Fry also amongst the goals as Hutton ran out 7-2 winners to set up a quarter final clash away to Premier Division leaders Collier Row Tigers. Grace Wooley and Tyler Christou scoring their first goals for Billericay.

Essex Women’s Premier Division

A reduced fixture list this weekend in Essex anyway was further hit by the weather with two games called off across both divisions. That left just the one game in the Premier Division with bottom club Beacon Hill Rovers Ladies away to Southend United Ladies. A tough start to the season for Beacon Hill Rovers bottom of the table without a point on the board after 7 games were at last celebrating their 1st league victory of the season coming off the back of their 1st win of the season in the Essex Women’s Trophy agianst Leigh Ramblers Ladies Reserves. Jo Smeaton with the goal first half her 6th of the season enough to clinch the 3 points.

Essex Women’s Division One

All of a sudden it’s getting very close in the middle of the Essex Women’s Division One table with 3 sides now all on 10 points 2 behind 3rd placed Runwell Sports Ladies. Two games played this weekend and good results at home for both Bowers & Pitsea Ladies Development and Chigwell Ladies.

Bowers & Pitsea Ladies Development now up to 4th in the table undefeated in 3 winning 7 points, were at home to Leigh Ramblers Ladies Reserves this Sunday a goal in each half from Lily Wilding with her 5th goal of the season to put Bowers & Pitsea 1-0 up at half-time. Captain Ellie Jones scoring a 2nd half penalty to put the hosts 2-0 up after grace Tebb-Reading was brought down inside the box.

Chigwell Ladies with a fantastic result at home against 3rd placed Runwell Sports Ladies at the weekend, 3 wins on the bounce now propelling them away from the bottom end of the table into 5th joining Bowers & Pitsea on 10 points, fielding the bare 11, Georgia Steele putting the ball into the back of the net twice scoring her first goals of the season for Chigwell, Karen Ulyatt with a goal too to see the game won 3-0.
