Garston Ladies 2nd XI bounced back from their midweek defeat to Hemel Hempstead to win at home against Sharnbrook WFC on Sunday and as a result move off the bottom of the Division One table. Ruby Jager scoring a hat-trick in their 6-0 victory with Lauren Berryman, Leah Crocket and Charley Kelsey also bagging a goal each. Sherrardswood Ladies go bottom having played all their games.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two
One more Champion to celebrate this week with Hitchin Belles getting the point they needed on Sunday to become Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two Champions! Were playing their final game of the season away to local rivals and 2nd placed Hitchin Town Ladies. The match at played at Top Field home of Hitchin Town FC, Hitchin Town Ladies were 8 points behind Hitchin Belles with 3 games left to play needed a win to have any chance of denying Belles the title. In the finish it wasn’t to be with the sides battling out a 0-0 draw usually a frustrating result but not for Hitchin Belles as they win the title and promotion to Division One.

That 0-0 draw good news for Letchworth garden City Eagles as they move back up into 2nd place in the Division Two table with a home win over in form Evergreen Ladies on Sunday. Goals from Kate Tempest, Katie Smith, Emily Jamieson and a 1st of the season for Anna Argiros seeing Letchworth win the game 4-0, one game left to play, that against Hitchin Town Ladies now basically a shoot off for 2nd place with one point between the sides even though Hitchin have a game in hand.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three
Three games played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three on Sunday and with two games left for the top 3 it is going to go down to the wire. Leaders AFC Dunstable Ladies Development top of the table were unbeaten dropping just 2 points before this weekends home clash with 3rd placed AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies. The visitors inflicting the first defeat of the season on Dunstable to close the gap to them down to 4 points. Rachael Mumford scoring a brace for Kempston Town & Bedford College with a goal each for Taylor Kingston and Kayleigh Humphries plus an own goal securing a 5-1 win. Bianca Vassell with the goal for Dunstable the pair meeting again in a fortnight in their penultimate game of the season. A win then for Dunstable putting Kempston Town & Bedford College out of the title race, if it goes the other way thing’s get very interesting on the final day!

League Champions, Thorpe United Ladies playing their last game of the campaign away to Bungay Town Ladies. 12 wins and a single defeat in the 13 games played to date a successful league campaign for Thorpe bringing a number of youth players into the squad this season, have performed well the club running away with the leagues, injuries stretching them towards the end were looking to end on a high against a Bungay side starting to move in the right direction themselves after a difficult start to the season. Always competitive between the two a heavy defeat for Thorpe at Bungay last season, a better start to the game scoring twice to lead the game 2-0 at half-time. A competitive 2nd half saw Bungay fight back scoring 3 goals, Thorpe responding adding a further two goals to win the game 4-3. A close game a goal each for Sophie Gillett and Bethany Turner enough to win the game for Gorleston despite a goal from Kate Morris for Sprowston Athletic the hosts winning 2-1 move to within a point of Sprowston Ladies with a game in hand.
Norfolk Women’s Division Two
A first defeat in the league in women’s football for Norfolk Women’s Division Two leaders, Taverham United Women last Sunday losing 3-0 at home to in form Tavern Ladies. Taverham bouncing back straight away with an away win against bottom side Bulldogs Ladies this Sunday in the only match taking place in the division. The scores close at half-time with Taverham holding a narrow 1-0 advantage. The visitors getting the better of the 2nd half despite Bulldogs getting a goal themselves Taverham going on to score 3 more to win the game 4-1 to go 9 points clear at the top of the table, Hannah Artis bagging herself a hat-trick in the game along with a goal for top scorer Rebecca Sutton who now has 35 goals for the season.

Another goal for Annie Northwood takes her to 33 for the campaign. A winning end to the season for Brightlingsea Regent Ladies, their first season in women’s football coming to an end at home to Chantry Grasshoppers Ladies. The team continuing to develop haven’t always got the points they deserved, looking for a new manager to take their development further. 1-0 up at half-time Brightlingsea made sure of a winning finish adding a further 2 goals 2nd half to win the game 3-1. Two games in the Essex Women’s Premier Division this Sunday. League Cup action or lack of seeing Harlow Town Ladies lose ground in the league a comfortable victory at home on this weekend saw them climb back up to 3rd in the table. Were taking on Silver End United Ladies, 2-0 up at half-time, Harlow scoring a further 2 in the 2nd period to clinch the 3 points. Top scorer Hannah Smith amongst the goals with her 23rd of the season, 17 goals too now for Ellie Nicholls also getting a goal. Lucy Edmeades with a goal too with Ellie Wallace another new name amongst the goal scorers for Harlow this season with her first goal in just her 2nd appearance.
In the other game played on Sunday in the Essex Women’s Premier Division it was a 7 goal thriller between Corringham Cosmos and Southend United Ladies. Rebecca Gallagher getting hosts Corringham off to a great start scoring her 17th goal of the season in the opening minute. Southend getting back on level terms to see the sides drawing 1-1 at half-time. The visitors getting the better of the 2nd half a further 5 goals added to win the game 4-3. The top sides bunch up again in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One with leaders Northwood Ladies not in action the chasing sides all picked up the 3 points to see just 4 points once again between the top 4. 3rd placed Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies awarded the home win over Sharnbrook, there were two matches played on Sunday.
2nd placed St Albans Ladies closing to within a point of Northwood winning away to bottom side, Garston Ladies 2nd XI. A fantastic start for the visitors 2-0 up inside the opening 6 minutes. With leaders AFC Dunstable Ladies Development not in action it was an opportunity for 2nd placed Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses to close the gap at the top back to 4 points. Were away to Stotfold Juniors Ladies. Giselle Randall continuing her excellent season in front of goal for the visitors scoring a hat-trick to take her onto 24 goals for the season. Current League Cup holders, St Albans Ladies aiming to go all the way again in this season’s competition winning through to the last 4 were drawn at home in the semi-finals to play Division Three side AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies. One of a cluster of new sides entering the league this season that have made an impact, reaching the last 4 of the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup, an exciting game between the sides chances at both ends St Albans having a goal ruled out for offside end to end at times Kempston clearing an effort off the line St Albans registering a goal late in the 1st half Eleanor Lovelock sliding the ball past the keeper to put the Division one side 1-0 up. Kempston seeing a goal ruled off for offside themselves just before half-time. St Albans tried their utmost to find a 2nd goal in the 2nd period as Kempston defended for their lives trying to pull a goal back up the other end, Lovelock’s 15th goal of the season proving to be enough as St Albans reach the League Cup Final for the 2nd successive season.
Far from a close contest in the other semi-final with Division One side Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies hosting, Hitchin Belles leading the way in Division Two and in confident mood reaching the last 4 of the League Cup. Both Garston Ladies sides playing in Division One, have struggled for league form this season with the 2nd XI and 1st team bottom of the league with just one win each. Both into the last 4 of The Chris Renshaw Cup were at home taking on lower league opposition both their opponents 2nd doing well.
Garston Ladies 1st team were taking on Division Three side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses, the sides involved in a 7 goal thriller with Garston just edging out Woburn & Wavendon at the final whistle. Victoria Harrold, Laura Sephton and top scorer Giselle Randall with her 21st goal of the season getting on the scoresheet for the Division Three side. A brace from Yasmin Sabri, along with a goal each for Jane Hales and Lucy Zecchin seeing Garston’s 1st team through to the final courtesy of a 4-3 victory.
Garston Ladies 2nd XI were taking on Division Two side Hitchin Town Ladies in the last 4 of the competition on Sunday, both sides starting the game positively Garston drawing first blood taking the lead in the 25th minute. Hitchin Town responding straight away to level, Louise Gash sliding in to make it 1-1 3 minutes later. Back came Garston retaking the lead right away scoring through an unfortunate own goal. A corner late in the first half seeing Garston take a 3-1 lead Gash hitting the bar for Hitchin Town in the final minute of the 1st half. 3-1 up at half-time Garston added a 4th goal with 20 minutes left to play. Hitchin pulling a goal back in the final minute with Hayley Watson’s half volley from 35 yards out finding the back of the net. Too late Garston winning through to the final 4-2, Holly Jury with her 9th of the season, Dion Lewis and a 1st goal of the season for Garston for Megan Allaway the goalscorers.

4th at home to 2nd in Division Two on Sunday as both Royston Town Ladies Development and Letchworth Garden City Eagles were looking to close the gap on the sides immediately above them, both Hitchin side involved in the cups. The points were shared in the finish with neither side unable to break the deadlock the game ending 0-0.
Plenty of goals in the other game played in Division Two on Sunday, all going to the away side as 5th placed Evergreen Ladies travelled to play bottom side Welwyn Pegasus Azures. Well clear of the sides below Evergreen rattled 9 goals past their opponents to win the game 9-0. Those 9 goals shared between 2 players the clubs top scorers by some distance, with Natalie Maher scoring 5 and Rebecca Freeman on target for 4 goals both neck and neck in the race for the clubs golden boot with 12 goals each.

Two games also this Sunday in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three, with Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses in Cup action it was an opportunity for league leaders AFC Dunstable Ladies Development to go 7 points clear at the top. At home were taking on Biggleswade United Ladies. An early lead for Dunstable with Nicola Hollick firing the hosts into a 15th minute lead, that how the score remained heading into the final 10 minutes, Sophie Bounds with her first goal for Biggleswade levelling it up at 1-1. The game heading for a draw Dunstable came back to grab the winning goal with two minutes of regular time left Bianca Vassell with her 31st strike of the season putting the ball into the back of the net.
Stotfold Juniors Ladies have found some form in recent weeks 7 points won from their last 3 league matches were away t bottom side Buntingford Town Ladies this Sunday. Kept the good run going with a 4-0 to close t within a point of 5th placed Biggleswade. Charlotte Hindmarch and Holly Konopka both scoring twice.
Once again saving the biggest of the Round-Up’s till last it was a busy weekend with two County Cup Finals taking place as well as a host of county league matches. Sunday beginning with an 11am kick-off at The County Ground Letchworth for the Hertfordshire Women’s Challenge Cup Final. An early start for Women’s Football East too travelling to watch the game. Stevenage Ladies into a fifth successive final have won 3 out of the last 4 including back to back wins, were looking for a 3rd win as they looked t retain the trophy against Watford Ladies U23s.
The County Ground with a new 3G playing surface as well as redevelopments to the clubhouse. Bright sunshine Watford’s young side starting brightly pressing the ball defender Sydney Hinchcliffe firing them into the lead the ball cleared off the line from a corner struck back in over the line. Stevenage responded well Watford coping doubling their lead late in the first half Andie Dickens firing a shot in from the top of the area.
Stevenage pushed for a reply but it wouldn’t come Watford willing on the counter getting a corner Anaisa Harvey rising highest inside the six yard box to score their 3rd goal. Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup
In neighbouring Bedfordshire on Sunday afternoon their was also Women’s County Cup Final action, with Luton Town Ladies meeting Bedford Ladies at Ampthill Town FC. Luton Town Ladies dominant in recent seasons that run ended by Bedford Ladies last season. The sides meeting again this season Bedford Ladies playing in the ERWFL Premier Division looking for back to back successes. Luton Town Ladies having a tough season battling at the bottom of FAWNL South East Division One.
Few chances in the game early on the game livening up with 28 minutes gone Bedford striking the post, Eden Kibron firing in from close range moments later to put Bedford into the lead. Luton pressing for an equaliser it wouldn’t come shots saved Bedford Ladies with the narrow victory winning the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup for the 2nd successive season. Congratulations.

A great weekend for Hitchin Belles in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two as they win at home and see their rivals drop points to open up a 5 point lead at the top of the table. A tough game for Hitchin Bells on Sunday at home against 4th placed Royston Town Ladies Development a close run reslut Kierra Gabriel and Hannah Tofts scoring for the visitors. Hitchin Belles with a potent attack this season 4 players into double figures 3 of them were on target with a goal each to see the game won 3-2 with, Keira How, Amy Jack and Charlotte Peters all celebrating.
Hitchin Town Ladies in 2nd spot going into Sunday’s match were away to 5th placed Evergreen Ladies, the hosts scoring through Natalie Maher just past the half hour. That goal proving to be the winner as Evergreen battled to keep Hitchin Town from finding a reply.
That result coupled with a win on the road Letchworth Garden City Eagles a 4th straight win with one result a walk over sees them up into 2nd place themselves in Division Two. Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three
A big game at the top of Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this Sunday with the top two going head to head with just a point between them. AFC Dunstable Ladies Development with the narrow advantage hosting 2nd placed Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses. Dunstable unbeaten dropping just 2 points so far and those back on the opening day, Woburn & Wavendon losing just the once that early in the season in the reverse fixture with Dunstable. Giselle Randell firing Woburn & Wavendon into a 20th minute lead. The visitors holding the narrow advantage at half-time, Dunstable getting back on level terms on the hour through Nicola Hollick’s 4th goal of the season. The scores level with less than 15 minutes left Bianca Vassell, Dunstable’s top scorer scored to put the hosts 2-1 up with her 30th goal of the season. The three points guaranteed in the final minute with Hollick on target for her 2nd of the game to see Dunstable go 4 points clear at the top winning 3-1.

At last a first league win of the season for Bedwell Rangers Ladies, their first 3 points of the season coming away from home against 2nd bottom Buntingford Town Ladies. Two players completing hat-tricks in the match Jessica Sullivan with 3 more has 12 now for the season. Leah Tomlin netting 3 goals too one from the penalty spot. Rachel Young with a brace too for Bedwell with Alicia Fieldsend also scoring in a 9-0 with that takes Bedwell off the bottom.

The league changing in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One as the top two drew against each other. Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires benefiting as they won the 3 points at home at the weekend to return to the top of the table. Were taking on Garston Ladies 2nd XI. Janiece Allen having previously scored plenty of goals for Welwyn Pegasus’ sister club the Azures scoring 4 against Garston on Sunday. Takes her to 17 for 11 appearances this season. Chemise Huitson also finding the back of the net for her 9th goal of the season as Welwyn Pegasus won the game 5-2 . Maddie Gordon and Charley Kelsey with the goals for Garston who slip to the foot of the Division One table, have played just 6 league games to date.
Northwood Ladies went into the weekend narrowly leading Beds & Herts Division One were away to 2nd placed Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies this Sunday. Northwood looking for a positive result after suffering defeat last weekend with a depleted squad, dug deep against Hemel Hempstead to ear a point Holly Gilder scoring twice. Bianca Hedgecock and Charlene Turturici-Clarke with the goals for Hemel Hempstead who still have games in hand on all the other title challengers in Division One.
Incredibly tight still in the league with just 3 points between the leaders and 5th placed Houghton Athletic Ladies. St Albans Ladies the defending champions sandwiching themselves into 3rd now between Northwood and Hemel Hempstead all on 20 points as they secured the 3 points away to Sharnbrook WFC on Sunday. Eleanor Lovelock with a goal midway through the 1st half putting St Albans into the lead doubled the advantage just past the hour the win secured in the final 5 minutes with Sophie Hull on target to make it 3-0. Lovelock completing her hat-trick in the 89th minute, her 12th of the season sealing a 4-0 win.
A tough season all round so far for the Garston sides in Division One, Garston Ladies 1st team at home to fellow strugglers Sherrardswood Ladies this Sunday both sides earning a point, enough to move Garston’s 1st team off the bottom. Emma Trill scoring twice for Garston with Jane Hales also on target for a goal. A point for Sherrardswood Rhiana Rose scoring twice for the visitors one a penalty, with Francesca Novelli finding the back of the net in the 88th minute.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two
Hitchin Belles have a two week break now form the league, they go into it in good form with a 6 point lead at the top of the Division Two table. Just the one league defeat to date chalked up an 11th win of the season this Sunday at home to Evergreen Ladies. Leading 1-0 at the half-time interval Hitchin Belles going on to score twice more in the 2nd half to win 3-0. Keira How scoring her 11th of the campaign. Top scorer Katie White firing in her 18th of the season and a 3rd of the season for Bonnita Woodward the goalscorers for Hitchin Belles.
Local rivals Hitchin Town Ladies in 2nd position in Division Two have two games in hand on Hitchin Belles. This weekend saw their local rivals extend their lead at the top as they had to settle for a point away to 3rd placed Royston Town Ladies Development on Sunday. The visitors taking the lead in a battling encounter on 27 minutes captain Emma Chaffey there to nod home after Rebecca Day’s shot struck the crossbar. Royston pushing for a reply 2nd half equalising through Sammy Tinsley in the 67th minute. Hitchin working hard in defence to prevent the hosts getting another, 11 the final score.
The bottom two met in the league on Sunday with Evergreen Eagles and Welwyn Pegasus Azures having 4 points each going into the game. Christie Brewer winning the game for Evergreen as she scored a hat-trick for the hosts in a 3-2 win, Samantha Coughlan with her first of the season with a goal in the first half for Welwyn, Fiona Davies striking late in injury time with the 2nd goal.
Bedford Ladies Development also winning at home at the weekend were hosting Watton Ladies. A good result winning 4-0 seeing them win for just the 2nd time in Division Two.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three
4 games played too in beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this Sunday. A 9th straight league win for AFC Dunstable Ladies Development this Sunday as they travelled to play Kempston Rovers Ladies. Lauren Brooker scoring in the 6th minute and a goal from Holly Wilks saw Dunstable into a 2-0 half-time lead. The rest of the goals were saved for the final 6 minutes of the match with Nicola Hollick scoring to put the visiting side 3-0 up in the 84th minute. Kempston Rovers struck back immediately with Chelsea Jeffery breaching Dunstable’s defence for a goal. Dunstable responding by going straight up the other end to restore their 3 goal cushion Wilks with her 2nd of the game the final score 5-1 with top scorer Bianca Vassell adding another goal to her tally in the final minute.
Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses continue to keep the pressure on their Bedfordshire rivals at the top of Division Three a point behind in 2nd they won big at home on Sunday against Buntingford Town Ladies who were only playing for the 2nd time in 2019 their last game back on the 6th January. Woburn & Wavendon winning with a double figure scoreline. Top scorer Giselle Randall finding the back of the net for 4 goals moves to 18 for the season. Georgia Payne getting a hat-trick too in the match, with Laura Sephton on target for a brace with Molly Churchill also amongst the goalscorers with her 1st of the season. Woburn & Wavendon winning 10-1.
AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies lay in 3rd position in Division Three and will be hoping either of the top two slip up if they wish to close the 5 point gap to the top. Were away this Sunday taking on Biggleswade United Ladies. Chloe Urbanowicz on target scoring her 17th of the season for Kempston, there were goals to for Bex Cray and Zara Garrad who move onto 14 and 11 respectfully and a goal for Taylor Kingston in a 4-1 victory to take the visitors to 23 points from 10 played. A 3-3 draw between Bedwell Rangers Ladies and Stotfold Juniors Ladies in The Chris Renshaw Cup last weekend. Bedwell missing out on penalties in the finish the two sides meet again this Sunday at Bedwell in the league, the hosts again scoring 3 with Rachel Young scoring along with two for Isabella Townsend her 1st goals of the season. It wasn’t enough unfortunately for Bedwell to get anything from the game as Stotfold secured the win scoring 4 against them.
The league action scarce this weekend in the Beds & Herts Women’s leagues with 7 ties outstanding in the 2nd Round of The Chris Renshaw Cup. Last week saw a 3 way tie at the top of Division One with 3 sides all on 19 points, Northwood Ladies top on goal difference. Now it’s a 4 way tie with Houghton Athletic Ladies joining the top 3 on 19 points in the table. The only match in the division on Sunday seeing Houghton Athletic away to Northwood. The hosts having just the 10 players available for the match. Houghton Athletic able to name five on the bench. Northwood with a valiant effort Emma Steele getting on the scoresheet with a goal Houghton Athletic found the back of their opponents net for 3 goals to with the game. One other match in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One on Sunday saw 5th placed St Albans Ladies away to Sherrardswood Ladies. a 6-0 win for St Albans seeing them just 2 points behind the 4 way tie above. Ellen Slater opening the scoring for St Albans in the 13th minute. Goals from Eleanor Lovelock and Michaela Lovelock on the half hour saw the visitors 3-0 up at half-time. Carys Baker making it 4-0 in the 56th minute her first goal for St Albans. Two further goals were scored in the last 5 minutes of the game with Lovelock getting her 2nd and Lauren Croucher on target for her first St Albans goal.

There was the one league game played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two this Sunday with league leaders Hitchin Belles at home to 4th placed Letchworth Garden City Eagles. One game played too in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this Sunday with Kempston Rovers Ladies back in action after a month with a game at home to AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies. A strong performance from the visitors seeing them run up a large score and move up into 3rd place in the table as a result. Kimberlee Aldred netting a hat-trick in the match there was a brace too for top scorer Chloe Urbanowicz taking her onto 16 for the season. Goals too for Bex Cray and Zara Garrad with Abigale Young making her 1st start for the club scoring on her debut in an 8-0 win.

The weather playing havoc with the competition over the past couple of weeks at last all 7 of the remaining 2nd Round ties from this season’s Chris Renshaw Cup were played on Sunday. Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses the only side to book a quarter final spot before this weekend.
Division One side, Sharnbrook WFC were hosting Division Two title chasers Hitchin Town Ladies this Sunday in the 2nd Round of the competition. A goal from Hitchin Town captain Emma Chaffey plus a brace from Louise Gash securing a 3-1 win for the visitors to see them advance to the quarter finals. Mel Harradine getting the goal for Sharnbrook.
Both Garston Ladies sides were at home in the 2nd Round of The Chris Renshaw Cup. Garston Ladies 1st team were taking on Division Two side Evergreen Eagles. The visitors short on numbers Garston struggling for form in Division One advancing with a comfortable result in the finish Jane Hales scoring 5 goals in the game with Lucy Zecchin also on the scoresheet in a 7-0 win.
Likewise Garston Ladies 2nd XI are at the wrong end of Division One were taking on Royston Town Ladies Development this Sunday in the Cup. The hosts scoring twice through Daisy Culaj and Chloe Hazell, Royston responding with 2 themselves to see the ties head all the way to a penalty shootout with Nicole Cooper and Kierra Gabriel on the scoresheet Garston getting the better of the shootout winning on penalties 4-2 to book a spot in the quarter finals.
An all Division Two tie in the 2nd Round of The Chris Renshaw Cup saw Welwyn Pegasus Azures at home to Watton Ladies on Sunday. Two goals in the first half for Anna Bright for Welwyn she went on to complete her hat-trick in the 2nd half taking her onto 11 for the season, with April Spang netting a goal too in the first half securing a 4-2 victory for the hosts to see them progress.
Division Three side Biggleswade United Ladies were at home to Evergreen Ladies from Division Two in the 2nd Round of the Cup. The hosts getting themselves into a 2-0 lead. Leane Pickett pulled it back to 2-1 for Evergreen, Biggleswade adding a 3rd goal, it proved to be enough to see off their higher league opponents and advance in the competition despite another goal from Pickett. 3-2 the final score.
Lastly there were two all Division Three ties in the 2nd Round of The Chris Renshaw Cup league leaders AFC Dunstable Ladies Reserves drawn away to 3rd placed Langford Ladies. Turned out to be a dramatic game with the sides sharing 9 goals. Nicola Hollick putting Dunstable into the lead inside the opening 15 minutes her first for the club. Top scorer Bianca Vassell doubling Dunstable’s lead in 1st half injury time. Langford pulling a goal back within 5 minutes of the restart. Courtney McNamara on 57 minutes and Nicole Cameron in the 63rd minute firing Dunstable into a 4-1 lead. Langford getting it back to 4-2 with 20 minutes left to play. Hollick making just her 2nd start getting a 2nd goal in the 80th minute for Dunstable 5-2 ahead Langford threatened a late comeback scoring twice late on to pull it back to 5-4. Dunstable with enough of a lead to hold on and advance. Chloe Scott with a hat-trick for Langford with Amber Clark also on the scoresheet.
The other all Division Three tie went all the way to a penalty shootout with Stotfold Juniors Ladies at home to Bedwell Rangers Ladies in the 2nd Round of the competition. Stotfold scoring 3 times in regular play the scores level at the final whistle with Jessica Sullivan netting at hat-trick for Bedwell. The game to be decided from the penalty spot Stotfold edging Bedwell out with a 3-2 shootout win to reach the quarter finals.

It doesn’t happen very often but this time of year the weather plays it’s part to hit the fixtures and sometimes it’s simply easiest to combine all or some of the weekends Round-Up’s into a collective post. This Sunday there were just two fixtures played in Norfolk, Suffolk and 3 in Beds & Herts so they get to share this edition. Water logged pitches being the theme.
Norfolk
Norfolk Women’s Division Two
Just three games scheduled in Norfolk anyway those in Division Two that was reduced to two with the rain seeing the match between Hockering Ladies & Tavern Ladies postponed. League leaders Taverham United Women were away on Sunday there opponents Horsford Women. Taverham unbeaten winning their last 10 league games in a row are scoring plenty of goals with Rebecca Sutton and Abbie Walker slugging it out for top goal scorer. Walker getting herself another hat-trick this Sunday, Sutton waded in with 5 goals, a total of 55 goals between them now, Sutton on 29, Walker on 26 both with 14 appearances. A hat-trick too for Maya Lawlor on Sunday takes her into double figures for the season for Taverham. Charlotte Hurren and Teigan Robinson also getting a goal each as Taverham extend their lead at the top of the Division Two table with a 13-0 to 7 points over Fakenham Town Ladies who do have two matches in hand.
In the other match played in Division Two this Sunday, Bulldogs Ladies fresh from their 1st win of the season last Sunday travelled to the East coast to player Gorleston Rangers Ladies, in 5th position. A goal in each half from Abigail Bell seeing Gorleston Rangers record a 2-0 win their 6th of the season to take them level on points with 4th placed Bure Valley Wildcats Ladies.

Suffolk Women’s Division
4 matches scheduled for the Suffolk Women’s Division Division this Sunday including the two League Cup semi-finals, both of those games postponed will be replayed on Sun 24th February instead. Those ties featuring the top 4 in the league itself.
Two league games did get played and it was another positive result for Woodbridge Town Ladies their 3rd straight league win to help them consolidate their 5th placed position in the Suffolk Women’s Division. A reverse of last Sunday’s fixture were away to Chantry Grasshoppers Ladies then securing a comfortable 5-0 win. A different story at Chantry Grasshoppers the sides all square at 1-1 at half-time Woodbridge scoring again in the 2nd half to win the game 2-1. Kiera Hines and Kirsten Spooner with her first Woodbridge goal the scorers for the visiting side. Charlotte Archer on target in the first half for Chantry Grasshoppers.
A high scoring game between University of Suffolk Women and Walsham Le Willows on Sunday. Walsham travelling to the bottom placed side with just the 10 players available. A mixed bag of form for Walsham this season, hasn’t stopped top scorer Laura Brame from finding the back of the net more often than not scored another hat-trick on Sunday to move onto 20 for the season. Also scoring a hat-trick for Walsham on Sunday was Emma Marie Baker her first goals for the side too n just her 2nd appearance. Lisa Pratt and Kirsty Pollard both getting a goal a piece too as Walsham ran out 8-3 winners in the game taking them back into 6th spot.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One
It was a limited league programme in the Beds & Herts Women’s Division this Sunday anyway with cup action taking president. One game taking place in Division One saw defending champions St Albans Ladies at home to title chasing Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies. Sophie Hull scoring in the 13th minute giving St Albans an early lead. The hosts working hard defensively to keep their opponents at bay were unlucky to concede right at the death, Hemel Hempstead’s top scorer Natasha McConville striking late in the game to secure a point with her 18th goal of the season. That only adds to the intrigue at the top of the league with there now being a 3 way tie at the top with Northwood Ladies, Hemel Hempstead and Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires all on 19 points!
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two
One game also in Division Two this Sunday and that sees new leaders as Hitchin Belles replace local rivals Hitchin Town at the top for the 1st time this season. Hitchin Belles winning for the 9th time this season on the road on Sunday taking in Bedford Ladies Development. Have a potent attack with Katie White keeping the lead in the goal scoring charts netting a hat-trick on Sunday taking her onto 17 for the season. Charlotte Peters has 14 to her name claiming a brace at the weekend, Amy Jack and Keira How also amongst the goals this season both on target with their 13th and 9th goals respectfully Hitchin Belles winning 7-1.
The Chris Renshaw Cup
For the 2nd Sunday in a row the weather played havoc with The Chris Renshaw Cup competition the rescheduled cup ties once again hit by the wet conditions the day before. 5 2nd Round ties set for this Sunday in the end just the one survived that saw Division Three high flyers Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses at home to Sherrardswood Ladies struggling for form in Division One this season. A goal from Charlotte Bedford along with a penalty struck home by Victoria Harrold seeing Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses advance to the quarter finals.
Both semi-finals in the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup fell victim to the weather last weekend, held a week later it will be a repeat of last season’s final with Luton Town Ladies taking on the current holders Bedford Ladies on Sunday 17th March.
Luton Town Ladies were playing their first game at their new home The Brache, Luton Town FC’s training facility. Were taking on AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies from Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three, a good test for the lower league side the newcomers to woman’s football playing 5 leagues lower than their FAWNL South East Division One opponents. Held Luton for nearly 40 minutes before the hosts took a quick two goal lead at the end of the first half. Dionne Manning making it 1-0, Erica Byron doubling the lead a minute later. Jess McKay extending Luton’s lead 12 minutes into the 2nd half. Into the last 20 minutes an the hosts were awarded a penalty Byron adding her 2nd of the game from the spot. McKay made it 5-0 soon after. Further chances came Luton’s way the woodwork struck twice before captain Zara Carroll’s long range strike found it’s way into the back of the net. McKay completing her hat-trick in the final minute to wrap up a 7-0 win for Luton.

In the other semi-final in the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup it was an all ERWFL Premier Division clash with holders Bedford Ladies away to AFC Dunstable Ladies on Sunday. Goals from Michelle Byrne, Amy Magnus and Eden Kibron seeing Bedford safely into the final where they will be aiming to retain the cup for a 2nd successive year against a Luton side keen to get the cup back in their trophy cabinet themselves. Venue and kick-off time to be announced.

New leaders in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One with Northwood Ladies climbing to the top of the pile in what is a competitive tussle for the title. Northwood playing in one of the two games to survive in the league on Sunday were away to Sherrardswood Ladies. A comfortable scoreline taking Northwood ahead of Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires on goal difference. Emma Steele leading the goal scoring charts netting a hat-trick against Sherrardswood to take her onto 14 for the season. Danielle Tyler scoring her 10th goal of the season along with a goal each for Leanne Jones & Samantha May in a 6-0 win.
Houghton Athletic Ladies in 4th were taking on 6th placed Sharnbrook WFC in the league on Sunday, both in a good position to put pressure on the sides above shared the points at the weekend the game ending all square a 1 goal a piece. Two of the scheduled 5 matches in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two fell foul to the elements including leaders Hitchin Town Ladies game away to 4th placed Letchworth Garden City Eagles that presented an opportunity for 2nd placed Hitchin Belles to close the gap to the leaders to just 2 points if they could secure victory at home to Wheathampstead Wanderers Ladies. Hitchin Belles getting the result they wanted a strong first half saw them leading 4-0 matched that tally 2nd half. There is a battle going on for top scorers and all the contenders waded in with goals this Sunday, Katie White edging it scored a hat-trick to take her onto 14 for the season, Amy Jack and Charlotte Peters hot on her heels both netting a brace against Wheathampstead have 12 each. Gemma Smith also getting her name on the scoresheet for her 1st goal of the season.
Royston Town Ladies Development were away to bottom side Welwyn Pegasus Azures on Sunday. The 3rd placed side too with an opportunity to put pressure on the leaders. Had to settle for a point in the finish as Welwyn picked up their first competitive point of the season their previous points awarded. Scoring twice to match Royston whose goals were scored by Abby Laughlin and Nicole Cooper.
Evergreen Ladies 5th in Division Two were on the road on Sunday taking on Bedford Ladies Development, the visitors taking the lead through Ellie Smith only for Bedford’s Joanne Makin to equalise. Rebecca Freeman sending a free-kick into the top corner to restore Evergreen’s lead with her 7th goal of the season and ultimately the winning goal for Evergreen.

Three matches in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three at the weekend with away wins for the top two seeing them extend their lead at the top of the table. Leaders AFC Dunstable Ladies were taking on bottom side Bedwell Rangers Women. The visitors holding a narrow lead at half-time Bianca Vassell’s 26th goal of the season in the 19th minute the difference between the two sides. Bedwell Rangers coming right back into it in the 66th minute as Rachel Young struck to make it 1-1. Stevenage Ladies are into their 5th consecutive Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup final winning away from home against the side they faced in last season’s final Hoddesdon Town Owls Ladies. A strong defensive display from the ERWFL Division One side in the 1st half restricting their FAWNL South East Division One opponents to a 1 goal lead. Stevenage stepping up a gear in the 2nd half however going to to score a further 6 goals to set up a 5th successive final appearance. Have won 3 of the previous 4 finals including the past 2 season’s.
Stevenage’s opponents in the 2018/19 Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup Final will be Watford Ladies U23s, competing in the FAWNL Reserve Southern/South East Division they were hosting Beds & Herts Women’s Division One leaders Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies in their semi-final this weekend. A dominant start to the game saw Watford fire themselves into a quickfire 2 goal lead adding a 3rd before the break. Watford continuing that level of performance 2nd half to go on and win the game 8-0. A competitive final on the cards, a Watford Development side winning the competition 3 season’s ago.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One
The league schedule suffering due to the overnight freezing conditions saw a limited number of games. There was a big one in Beds & Herts Division One however this Sunday with Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires hosting defending champions St Albans Ladies. Newly promoted Welwyn the early pacesetters in the league have been caught at the top as other sides get into their stride an interesting title battle looming, Hemel Hempstead Town taking over at the top involved in the County Cup this Sunday, Welwyn had a chance to reclaim the lead and did so coming out on top in a 7 goal thriller with St Albans. A tight contest between the sides a goal from Eleanor Lovelock along with a brace from Sophie Lawrence for St Albans they suffered defeat late in the game as Welwyn scored 4 against them to climb back to the top of Division One.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two
The fixture list in Beds & Herts Women’s Two fared a little better with 3 of the 4 scheduled games taking place and with league leaders Hitchin Town’s match against Evergreen Eagles the casualty it was a chance for the chasing sides to close the gap. 2nd placed Hitchin Belles were on the road taking on the other Evergreen side in the league Evergreen Ladies. The hosts holding the lead at half-time with Natalie Maher scoring. Hitchin Belles coming back in the 2nd half to level the scores and claim a point, Keira How getting the goal for the visiting side her 8th of the campaign.
Letchworth Garden City Eagles climb back above Royston Town Ladies Development into 3rd spot now 2 points behind Hitchin Belles with a game in hand with a good result at home to Bedford Ladies Development this Sunday. Letchworth getting themselves into a 2-0 lead at the break went on to score a further 3 2nd half to run out 5-1 winners, Kate Tempest netting a brace for Letchworth. Tayla Murray also finding the back of the net for her 10th goal of the season with Jade Anglum and Amy Phillips scoring their 1st goals.
Watton Ladies were away to bottom side Welwyn Pegasus Azures on Sunday the visitors taking the lead, Welwyn coming fighting back to equalise and then go 2-1 in front, Watton then fighting back themselves the scores level at 2-2 before a 3rd goal won the game for Watton 3-2. Keeleigh Berry scoring her 1st goal for Watton, with Amy Marshall and Elizabeth Dowton also scoring a goal each.
