A trip to north Bedfordshire in the other Beds & Herts Women’s Division One game at the weekend with St Albans Ladies travelling to play Sharnbrook WFC. The visitors ending 2016 with a great result to pick up the points for their 4th league win of the season moving up to 5th in the table level on 12 points with 4th placed Bishops Stortford Ladies and Garston Ladies as mentioned above in 3rd. Ellie Lovelock giving St Albans Ladies the lead in the 1st half, Katie Grehan scoring in the 2nd half to see St Albans Ladies to a 2-0 victory.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two
A good result to end the year for Hitchin Belles in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two. Were away for their last match of the season playing league leaders, Flitwick Ladies. A brace from Emily Field plus a goal for Shannon Page seeing them edge the win 3-2 to move onto 12 points in 5th spot in the table.
2nd placed Panshanger Ladies a point behind Flitwick Ladies after defeating them last weekend were away from home for their last match of the year taking on Royston Town Ladies Reserves who they lost too at home 3-2 a fortnight ago. Panshanger started the game brightly creating chances before taking the lead Chemise Huitson scoring to put the 1 up, added a 2nd goal 12 minutes later to see Panshanger extend their lead, Royston Town came back into the game scoring in the last 10 minutes of the 1st half to pull the scores level and go in front with goals from Zoe Quinn, Amber Murray and Charlotte Riley to lead 3-2 at half-time. Both sides found the opposing goalkeeper hard to beat 2nd half no more goals in the game Royston Town doing the double over Panshanger to move up to the Division Two table.
A 2nd successive defeat for Flitwick at the top sees the table bunching up with just 6 points between the leaders and 6th placed Watton Ladies who like Hitchin Belles, Royston Town Ladies Reserves and 3rd placed Garston FC Ladies 96 all have games in hand on the leading pair. All to play for in 2017.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three
Just the one match in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three on Sunday with Potters Bar United Ladies at home to Wheathamsted Ladies both new names to the league this season. In 3rd place in the table Janiece Allen scored all the goals for Potters Bar United to move onto 16 for the season in a 4-1 win. Jackie Sheridan scoring late in the match for Wheathamsted. Potters Bar United join 2nd placed Evergreen Eagles on 12 points having played 3 more games.
The Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup has reached the quarter finals stage the last 8 vying for a place in the semi-finals, 3 of the 4 places decided this weekend, whilst holders Watford Ladies Development U19s will play Stevenage Ladies Reserves this coming Sunday after their match was postponed.
Stevenage Ladies 1st team are through to the semi-finals of the County Cup as they won away to Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three side, Evergreen Eagles. 6 leagues between the sides a tough test for Evergreen Eagles taking on FAWPL South East Division One opposition. 2 goals for Stevenage captain, Donna McGuigan with a goal a piece for Kristina O’Connell, Rosy Woodhams, Daniela Martucci and Bolu Fisher seeing Stevenage win the game 6-0 to make it into the last 4.
Watford Ladies have a side already through to the semi-finals of the County Cup after their U17s Hornets side beat Beds & Herts Women’s Division One side, Bishops Stortford Ladies 6-1 at home to reach the last 4 of the competition on Sunday.
It was the biggest win in the clubs history as Royston Town Ladies 1st team booked their place in the Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup semi-finals. The ERWFL Premier Division side were at home playing Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two side Watton Ladies. 4 league between the sides, Royston Town proved too strong an opponent on the day. Samantha Tinsley moving onto 24 goals from 12 appearances netting 5 goals in the match. Both Rebekah Fisk and Paige Rolfe scored a brace each their 1st goals of the season. Amie Jones, Hayley Graham and Annie Chambers all scored their 1st goals of the season too with Gemma Croucher and Stephanie Hicks also on target with a goal each in a 14-0 win.
Beds & Herts Women’s League Cup
One more place in the Beds & Herts Women’s League Cup quarter finals to be decided as Sherrardswood Ladies from Beds & Herts Women’s Division One took on Division Two side Royston Town Ladies Reserves on Sunday in the 2nd Round. Beaten on penalties in last years final (sorry to mention that) Sherrardswood made it into the quarter finals with a 4-0 win Katy Jones opening the scoring on 28 minutes, Laura Cousins made it 2-0 before half-time netting a 2nd goal early in the 2nd half, Melissa Wright scoring the 4th goal 5 minutes from time.

A big win away from home for Hitchin Town Ladies as they open up a 6 point gap to bottom side Letchworth Garden City Eagles whom they met on Sunday to pick up their 2nd league win of the season. Getting the 3 points courtesy of a 3-2 win with Rachael Lewis, Jodie Nicholson and Natalie Thompson scoring the goals.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two
A top of the table clash in Beds & Herts Division Two with 3rd placed Panshanger Ladies at home looking to end a run of 2 successive home defeats against the league leaders, Flitwick Ladies. It was Flitwick who took the lead in the match against the run of play, Taylor Adams putting them ahead. Panshanger were soon back on level terms Ellie Burke making it 1-1 on 35 minutes. Panshanger went to to take the lead Chemise Huitson with her 15th goal of the season making it 2-1 with 2 minutes left in the 1st half. A lead Panshanger held onto throughout the 2nd half to win the 3 points to climb back into 2nd spot go a point behind Flitwick at the top.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three
In Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three 3rd placed Crawley Green Ladies were away from home on Sunday playing 4th placed Potters Bar United Ladies, the 2 sides switching places as Potters Bar United ran out 4-1 winners to win for the 3rd time this season. Nina Service scoring late in the 1st half for Crawley Green.
7 ties played this weekend in the 2nd Round of the Beds & Herts Women’s League Cup. Holders, Garston Ladies were away playing fellow Division One side Letchworth Garden City Ladies. Bishops Stortford Ladies currently 3rd in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One also advance into the quarter finals of the League Cup with a 5-1 home win against Beds & Herts Division Three side Evergreen Eagles. Hannah Mead netting a 1st half hat-trick with Brogan McHale also scoring in the 1st half. Kathryn Stanley scoring the 5th goal 5 minutes into the 2nd half . Samantha Takis with her 10th goal of the season scoring the goal for Evergreen Eagles.
Houghton Athletic Ladies also advance through to the quarter finals winning an all Beds & Herts Division One clash at home against Sharnbrook WFC. Emily Peat scoring twice for Houghton with a goal each for Emma Hawkes, Rachel Spendelow and Holly Thomson in a 5-0 win.
Hitchin Town Ladies from Beds & Herts Women’s Division One needed extra-time to make it into the quarter finals of the League Cup playing at home against Division Three side Wheathamsted Ladies. Louise Gash was red carded for Hitchin Town as Wheathamsted held them to a goalless draw after the 90 minutes were up the match going into an extra 30 minutes, Emma Chaffey was the difference her goal seeing Hitchin Town win the match 1-0 and progress in the competition.
Plenty of goals scored elsewhere in the 3 remaining ties, 2 featuring all Beds & Herts Division Two clashes. Hitchin Belles were at home on Sunday taking on Watton Ladies, had just 9 players available but despite the disadvantage numbers wise were level at 2-2 at half-time, Watton with a strong 2nd half went on to win the tie 7-4. Francesca Smithers finding the back of the net with 4 goals for Watton with Emma Carter, Gemma Penny and Chloe Jones all getting a goal each in the win. Shannon Page with a hat-trick plus an own goal for Hitchin Belles.
A couple of goals less in the next game but a dramatic finish in extra-time in the other all Beds & Herts Division Two tie in the 2nd Round of the League Cup with Garston Ladies FC 96 at home to bottom side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Clarets. The game ending 3-3 after 90 minutes. A Charlotte Demmon double plus a goal for Lauren Revell for Woburn & Wavendon. Holly Jury, Dion Lewis and a brace from Jade Roberts with the goals for Garston Ladies FC 96, one more coming in injury time, Revell scoring her 2nd of the match in extra-time for Woburn & Wavendon. The tie squared at 4-4 penalties looming Chloe Ayres popped up with a stoppage time winner to see the Clarets through with a 5-4 win.
Penalties were needed in the final League Cup 2nd Round tie with Evergreen Ladies from Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two travelling on Sunday to play Division Three side, Potters Bar United Ladies. The home side leading 2-1 at half-time Evergreen came back to see the scores level at 3-3 after 90 minutes, a brace from Janiece Allen plus a goal from Claire Evans for Potters Bar United. Natalie Mahir with a brace for Evergreen with Chloe Jones grabbing a goal to force the tie into extra-time no more goals it went to penalties, Evergreen Ladies winning the shootout 3-1.

With several clubs across the 3 division’s in Beds & Herts involved in the League Cup 2nd Round it was a limited league fixture programme on Sunday. Just the one match taking place in all 3 division’s. A significant win for Sandy Ladies in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One as they beat St Albans Ladies away from home 2-1 to climb back to the top of the table, going 3 points clear of Sherrardswood Ladies with their 6th league win of the season. Katie Seldon and Chloe Reeves on target scoring the goals for Sandy to take the 3 points. Katie Grehan scoring early in the 2nd half for St Albans Ladies.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two
In Beds & Herts Women’s Division One the league action was from the Moneyhole Playing Fields with 3rd placed Panshanger Ladies hosting Royston Town Ladies. The visitors getting themselves into a 2-0 lead in the 1st half, Grace Leslie scoring both the goals. Panshanger created chances had a goal ruled off for offside in the 1st half. Leslie went on to complete her hat-trick in the 2nd half. Panshanger 3-0 down were awarded a penalty with 10 minutes left on the clock, Sophie Mandel putting the ball beyond the keeper into the back of the net from the spot. Chemise Huitson who was brought down for the penalty scored for Panshanger in the closing minutes to make it 3-2, Royston Town holding out for all 3 points getting their 3rd league win of the season.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three
Thought there was something familiar about this result in Beds & Herts Division Three on Sunday with league leaders Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues away to Shefford Town & Campton Ladies. Opening up a 6 point lead at the top making it 6 wins from 6 in the league winning the game 4-1 the goals scored by Amy Gibbins, Rachel Moffat and 2 from Georgia Payne all 3 scored last weekend too in their 6-0 win away to Potters Bar United Ladies. Excellent form at the start of the season. Louise Grocott getting on the scoresheet for Shefford Town & Campton Ladies.
Sherrardswood Ladies winning streak came to an end on Sunday, 5 league victories in a row had seen them climb into top spot in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One. Suffered their 2nd defeat of the season at home this weekend taking on St Albans Ladies who move up into 5th with the 3 points. St Albans leading 2-0 at half-time Suzanne Read giving them the lead on 37 minutes, Kayla Johnson adding the 2nd goal a minute before the half-time whistle. Sherrardswood Ladies pulled a goal back 5 minutes into the 2nd half Laura Cousins scoring. St Albans went on to restore the 2 goal cushion lead 3-1 in the 63rd minute, Read with her 2nd goal of the game, 3-1 the final score.
3-1 was also the final score in the other match in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One at the weekend going the way of the away side as Bishops Stortford Ladies travelled to play Hitchin Town Ladies. A meeting between 2nd and 3rd at the top of Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two on Sunday with 2nd placed Panshanger Ladies hosting 3rd placed Garston Ladies FC 96 at the Moneyhole Playing Fields. The sides had met just a fortnight ago in the reverse fixture Panshanger Ladies winning away from home 6-1 to move above Garston in the league. This time Garston were the away side and won the 3 points beating Panshanger by an equal 5 goal margin to move back above them into 2nd. Led 2-0 at half-time before going on to score a further 3 goals 2nd half to win the match 5-0. A brace each for Lilly Clark and Jade Roberts with Lauren Berryman also netting a goal.
Watton Ladies move up into 4th spot in Division Two with a large away win on Sunday travelling to play bottom side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Clarets still looking for their 1st league points of the season. Watton finding the back of the net for 7 goals winning 7-1 to take the 3 points. Charlotte Demmon with the consolation goal for Woburn in the 2nd half.
Watton move above Hitchin Belles in the league table after they were beaten away from home on Sunday playing Royston Town Ladies Reserves who win for the 2nd time this season winning the match 5-2 with the goals coming from 5 different scorers, Abby Collins, Angelica Fachechi, Amber Murray, Harriet Smith and Kelly Yarwood all getting their name on the scoresheet. Two matches in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three on Sunday Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues opening up a 3 point lead at the top of the table as the extended their 100% winning start to the season to 5 matches were away at the weekend playing Potters Bar United Ladies. Amy Gibbins and Georgia Payne both netting 2 goals each with a goal for both Rachel Moffat and Leanne James in a 6-0 victory.
In the other match in Division Three, Crawley Green Ladies came from behind twice to beat Shefford Town & Campton Ladies to climb up into 3rd place in the league on Sunday. At home Crawley Green were behind in the 7th minute as Shefford took the lead. Nina Service getting Crawley Green back on level terms in the 37th minute to make it 1-1 the score at half-time. Again Shefford took the lead early on in the 2nd half. Service with her 2nd goal of the match squaring it up at 2-2 on 56 minutes. Kirsty Morley scored to see Crawley Green take the lead for the 1st time in the match 3-2. Service netting her 3rd goal to complete her hat-trick with 6 minutes left to see Crawley Green take the 3 points with a 4-2 win.
Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup
In final tie to be played in the 2nd Round of the Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup with Beds & Herts Women’s Division One side Garston Ladies hosting the current holders of the cup Watford Ladies Development U19s. The sides playing out a 1-1 draw in the 90 minutes on Sunday to see the tie head into extra-time. Watford scoring in the extra period to win the match 2-1 and complete the quarter final line up.
Sherrardswood Ladies are the new leaders of Beds & Herts Women’s Division One moving above previous leaders Sandy Ladies who were in County Cup action this weekend on goal difference. At home this weekend Sherrardswood made it 5 straight league wins as they hosted bottom side Letchworth Garden City Eagles. Laura Cousins opeing the scoring on 7 minutes Laurie Marris (pictured) made it 2-0 10 minutes later, Cousins with her 2nd of the match on the half hour mark to see Sherrardswood 3 nil up at half-time. Marris added her 2nd of the game 2 minutes into the 2nd half with Victoria Little also on the scoresheet in a 5-0 win.
Bishops Stortford Ladies move up to 4th spot in the Division One table at the weekend with an away victory over St Albans Ladies, Natasha Coppin, Brogan McHale and Kathryn Stanley all on target in a 3-0 win. Like Sherrardswood and Sandy at the top of the table Bishops Stortford have lost just once in the league so far and have 2 games in hand on the leading pair.

Postponements elsewhere in the league saw just the one match taking place in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two on Sunday a big win at home for Hitchin Belles as they entertained fellow promoted side Evergreen Ladies. Shannon Page scoring 5 goals in the match. Ruth Fox, Amy Jack and Charis Wakefield all grabbing a goal each too in an 8-1 victory. Natalie Maher with the goal for Evergreen Ladies.

History was made in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three on Sunday as Shefford Town & Campton Ladies won their 1st ever league match. Having had a difficult 1st season as a club had started this season with 2 draws and 2 losses equalling the previous seasons record. Put in a lot of work in pre-season preparing for there 2nd season and have the reward at last an away victory over Potters Bar United Ladies 3rd in the table in their debut season. A 2-0 win for Shefford Town & Campton, Karen Clark and Louise Grocott scoring the goals to win the club their 1st 3 points.
Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup
Elsewhere it was the 2nd Round of the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup 4 ties to be played to see who would join the big 4 of Luton Town Ladies, Bedford Ladies, AFC Dunstable Ladies and Offley & Stopsley Ladies in the quarter finals. Sharnbrook WFC from Beds & Herts Women’s Division One were already through after their opponents withdrew from the league before the season started.
Also joining Sharnbrook WFC from Beds & Herts Women’s Division One in the quarter finals of the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup are Houghton Athletic Ladies. Were away in the 2nd Round taking on Luton Town Ladies Development side. Goals from Ciara Craig and Emma Hawkes seeing them advance in the competition with a 2-0 win.
Elsewhere there was a casualty from Beds & Herts Women’s Division One at the weekend with Sandy Ladies top of the league going into the game knocked out of the County Cup by Division Three opposition away to Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues top of Division Three. Both Casey Chapman and Molly Hughes scored a hat-trick with Madison Drewett also getting her name on the scoresheet with a goal in a 7-2 victory. Sandy Ladies goalscorers, Jade Anderson and Amber Williams.
Both Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses sides are through to the quarter finals with the Clarets in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two putting their league woes behind them to advance in the County Cup away to Division Three side Crawley Green Ladies. Woburn were leading 2-0 at half-time thanks to a brace from Dominique Hull. Emma Payne doubling the lead early in thr 2nd half with 2 goals in 2 minutes to see Woburn lead 4-0, Crawley Green fought there way back into hte game Jessica McNamara with 2 goals to half the deficit, Woburn eventually winning 4-2 to reach the quarter finals.

Two outstanding ties from the 2nd Round of the Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup were scheduled to be played this Sunday. Garston Ladies and Watford Ladies Development U19s (the cup holders) will have to try again this coming Sunday after their game was postponed.
Elsewhere FAWPL South East Division One side Stevenage Ladies advance through to the quarter finals after a home victory against Colney Heath Ladies from ERWFL Division One. Daniela Martucci scoring a hat-trick for Stevenage with a goal each for Bolu Fisher and captain Donna McGuigan seeing them through with a comfortable 5-0 win.
This weekend saw 4 ties in this season’s Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup taking place with the other ties involving sides in the FA Women’s Cup taking place this coming Sunday. 8 ties in the 2nd Round with the sides competing for a place in the quarter-finals of the competition. Already through were Stevenage Ladies Reserves awarded an away win with Evergreen Ladies not contesting the tie.
Big wins for all of the sides winning through to the quarter-finals this Sunday. ERWFL Premier Division side Royston Town Ladies were at home taking on Beds & Herts Division One side St Albans Ladies. Despite a 2 league gap between the sides St Albans Ladies competed well with Royston Town 1st half plenty of goals scored Royston Town leading 5-3 at half-time. A differnet tail 2nd half with the ERWFL Premier Division going on to dominate and rack up a double figure winning scoreline beating St Albans 12-4 to reach the quarter-finals. Georgia Gannaway, Stephanie Hicks and Samantha Tinsley amongst the goals all netting a hat-trick. St Albans goalscorers, Suzanne Read with 2, 1 for Ellie Lovelock and Kayla Johnson scoring from the penalty spot.
Beds & Herts Division Two side Watton Ladies also racked up a double figure winning score to progress into the quarter-finals of the Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup. At home playing Watford Ladies U17/U18s Wasps, Chloe Jones putting the ball into the back of the net for 4 goals with Emma Carter and Gemma Penny both scoring twice, Beth Willing, Kirsty Richardson and Samantha Edgar all adding a goal as Watton Ladies ran out 11-2 winners.

The visitors unbeaten in the league taking that form into the County Cup, Samantha Takis scoring 4 times with Samantha Feeney adding another goal in a 5-0 win to see Evergreen Eagles into the quarter-finals.

Sandy Ladies top of Beds & Herts Women’s Division One saw their 100% winning start to the season come to an end on Sunday 5 wins in a row to start the season. Were at home hosting 3rd placed Sherrardswood Ladies who Sandy Ladies beat 5-0 in the reverse fixture on the opening day of the season. Since then Sherrardswood have gone on to win all three of their league matches played since to move up to 3rd. Scored 5 against Sandy this time around Laurie Marris scoring 4 times once in the 1st half 3 in the 2nd with Manjinder Atwal also scoring a goal in the 1st half. Sandy Ladies scoring 1 goal in reply Amber Williams on target slip to their 1st league defeat of the season 3 points clear at the top still as Sherrardswood move into 2nd place.

Playing their 6th league game of the season Houghton Athletic Ladies record so far reads WDLLD added another W to that at the weekend to move up to 5th in the table at home to bottom side Letchworth Garden City Eagles on Sunday got their 2nd league win of the season thanks to a brace from Shakeela Hussain, plus a goal each for Emma Hawkins and Louise Spendlow.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two
Flitwick Ladies went top of Beds & Herts Division Two last Sunday beating leaders garston Ladeis FC 96 2-0 away from home. Extended their lead at the top this Sunday with a win at home against bottom side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Clarets. Kierra Gabriel with 2 goals. Charlotte Peel and Laura Scott also netting goals to see Flitwick win 4-0.
That defeat to Flitwick last Sunday saw Garston Ladies FC 96 lose their unbeaten start to the league. Overhauled at the top dropping to 2nd are down to 3rd after being beaten for the 2nd successive weekend at home to 3rd placed Panshanger Ladies who continue to improve as they compete at a higher level since being promoted this season. Chemise Huitson extending the visitors lead 5 minutes into the 2nd half. Ellie Burke scoring to make it 4-1 before Huitson went on to score her 12th & 13th goal of the season to complete her hat-trick and see Panshanger come away with all 3 points and climb the table.
Beds Herts Women’s Division Three
Been a trend of recent weeks to bring some bad news on The Round-Up and sadly I have to report the withdrawal of another side from the league with Bedwell Rangers Ladies team no longer listed in the table. I hate seeing the loss of a club but hope everyone involved with Bedwell stays in the game and wish all the best for the future. Still retain a strong youth section so the development of girls football will carry on and continue to benefit the game as a whole.
On to the league itself and with leaders Evergreen Eagles involved in the Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup it was an opportunity for 2nd placed Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues to move into the lead themselves both sides with a 100% winning start to the season Woburn with a game in hand 3 from 3 made it 4 from 4 with a hone victory against Crawley Green Ladies. Was a hotly fought contest Crawley Green going 1 up in the 11th minute, Nina Service with the goal. Woburn pulling it back to 1-1 before half-time. Took the lead early in the 2nd half, Service pulling it back to 2-2 with her 2nd of the game. 2 goals inside 3 minutes saw Woburn go 4-2 in front Kirsty Morley getting a goal back for Crawley Green, Woburn went on to win the game 5-3 to go top on goal difference their goals scored by Amy Gibbins, Molly Hughes, Georgia Payne plus 2 from Lauren Stewart.
Wheathamsted Ladies new to the league this season hadn’t started well bottom of the table with 3 straight defeats now find themselves in the lofty heights of 5th place after recording their 1st ever league win away to Shefford Town & Campton Ladies on Sunday. After a goalless 1st half between the sides, Maria Dennehy put Wheathamsted in front 10 minutes into the 2nd half. Sophia Pidgeon adding 2 goals on 61 and 73 minutes to secure a 3-0 and the clubs 1st ever 3 points.
A full fixture list in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One at the start of November with leaders Sandy Ladies the side not in action. 2nd placed Sharnbrook WFC closing the gap by a point scoring late in a high scoring match at home to Houghton Athletic Ladies to see the points shared in a 4-4 draw. Louise Spendelow scoring from the penalty spot for Houghton Athletic, Holly Thomson netting 2 goals with Rachel Spendelow also on target for the visitors. Sharnbrook scoring 2 goals in the 1st half Chantelle Harris with both strikes, Emma Butler n 75 minutes and Gemma Franklin in the last minute of normal time seeing the match end all square.
Sherrardswood Ladies move up a place into 3rd in the Division One table winning away at Hitchin Town Ladies on Sunday, Laurie Marris scoring from the penalty spot on the half hour mark. Manjinder Atwal adding their 2nd goal early in the 2nd half Marris scoring her 2nd of the game in the last 10 minutes to see Sherrardswood to a 3-1 win.
St Albans Ladies got off to a shaky start in Division One formerly the Harvesters FC side lost their opening 2 league matches, having gotten their 1st 3 points under their belt last Sunday built on that win this Sunday away to bottom side Letchworth Garden City Eagles to win a high scoring contest to climb up to 4th in the table. Letchworth scoring 3 goals, 2 from Tayla Murray plus a strike from Alex Bush. St Albans hitting back with more than double that tally, Courtney Blythe scoring on 19 minutes, Ellie Lovelock and Sophie Monahan also scoring in the 1st half. Lovelock going on to complete her hat-trick in the 2nd half, Katie Grehan adding 2 goals to the scoreline late in the match to see the visitors win 7-3 to leave Letchworth Garden City with all 3 points.
Garston Ladies also won at the weekend their 2nd league win of the season to join the pack in the middle of the table at home to Bishops Stortford Ladies, ended their 100% winning start to the season joining them on 6 points winning the game 4-1 with goals from Gemma Curtis, Jane Hales, Bobbi Rhodes and Kelly Spencer. A meeting between the top 2 in Beds & Herts Division Two on Sunday with leaders Garston Ladies FC 96 taking on 2nd placed Flitwick Ladies. Level on points Flitwick Ladies relegated from Division One last season move 3 points clear at the top ending Garston Ladies FC 96 unbeaten record winning the game 2-0 Taylor Adams and Charlotte Peel with the goals in the 1st half enough to see them to victory.
4th placed Watton Ladies hadn’t won since the opening day of the season getting a point last weekend against then leaders Garston Ladies FC 96 in a 6-6 draw continued their goal scoring form into this Sundays home game against newly promoted Evergreen Ladies. Elizabeth Dowton netting a hat-trick, with a brace for Samantha Edgar to see then record a 5-0 win.
5 goals too for 5th placed Hitchin Belles at home to Royston Town Ladies Reserves on Sunday, and they needed them too as they won for the 2nd time this season edging out their opponents in a 9 goal thriller 5-4. Ruth Fox, Charlotte Peters and Charis Wakefield all scoring with Shannon Page bagging a brace for Hitchin Belles. Charlotte Riley’s hat-trick plus a goal for Zoe Quinn not enough for Royston.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three
Evergreen Eagles continue to lead the way in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three however they had to comeback from being 2 goals down at half-time at home to Crawley Green Ladies to get the 3 points. Jessica McNamara and Kirsty Morley finding the back of the net for the visitors. Evergreen Eagles came back 2nd half Christie Brewer with a goal plus a double from Samantha Takis seeing them win the game and keep up their 100% winning start to the season.
3 points back in 2nd on 9 points but also with a 100% winning start to the season are Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues. At home on Sunday were taking on 3rd placed Potters bar United Ladies. Casey Chapman scored a brace for Woburn, Alice Hughes also with a goal as the home side went on to win 4-1.
In Beds & Herts Women’s Division One, Sandy Ladies go 5 points clear at the top of the league as they continued their winning start to the season winning all 5 of their opening games. The latest result coming away from home this Sunday. Were playing Houghton Athletic Ladies back on league action after a two week break involved in cup competitions. Harriet Ford and Chloe Reeves scored the goals for Sandy to see them win 2-0 move onto 15 points, finished the game with 10 players on the field after Katie Seldon was red carded.
Eleswhere in Division One two sides picked up ther 1st league wins of the season. A good result for Hitchin Town Ladies having been promoted this season had lost their opening 3 league games. Were at home on Sunday playing 2nd placed Sharnbrook WFC promoted as Division Two Champions had enjoyed a good start to the season beat Hitchin Town 3-1 at home 2 weeks ago. Different story this Sunday, Hitchin Town getting the 3 points courtesy of a 2-0 victory, Kayleigh Saunders and Rachael Jones getting the goals.
St Albans Ladies also bagged their 1st league win of the season formerly Harvesters FC had lost their opening 2 league games, at home this Sunday were playing Garston Ladies, was a tight contest the scoreline 0-0 at the break and for much of the 2nd half. Sophie Monahan scoring for St Albans in the 80th minute to see them win for the 1st time this season in the league.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two
What a contest between there was between Watton Ladies and Garston Ladies FC 96 at the weekend the league leaders coming back to keep their Unbeaten record in tact after the game finished… wait for it 6-6! Garston held a 100% win record with 3 wins from 3 to start the new season away to Watton Ladies on Sunday the lead looks to be taking shape with some competitive performances already. Watton found the back of the net with 6 differnet players getting on the scoresheet, Samantha Edgar, Chloe Jones, Heidi Nash, Gemma Penny Francesca Smithers and Beth Willing finding the back of the net. Jade Roberts scoring 4 of the 6 goals for Garston with Leah Crocket and Lilly Clark also getting a goal each.
Joining Garston on 10 points at the top of the Division Two table are Flitwick Ladies, the 2nd placed side at home on Sunday playing Royston Town Ladies Reserves, it was a close game with the visitors unlucky to not get anything from the game scoring through Sabrina Purser. Flitwick won the match 2-1 to get the 3 points, Kierra Gabriel and Faye Moxon with the goals to their name.
Panshanger Ladies good form continues as the 3rd placed sides won on Sunday for their 3rd successive league game were away to bottom side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Clarets. Kerry Twigg (pictured) scoring 2 goals inside the 1st 15 minutes to give them a 2-0 half-time lead. 2 more goals followed 2nd half Ellie Burke finding the back of the net on 58 minutes Chemise Huitson adding the 4th goal 6 minutes later.

Took a while for everyone to get going in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three, this weekend 8 of the 9 sides contesting the league were in action. League leaders, Evergreen Eagles maintain their unbeaten start to the season, relegated from Division Two last season look strong this season at home to Shefford Town & Campton Ladies on Sunday won the game 4-0 with Lisa Linsley netting a brace, goals too for Rebecca Corcoran and Amber Charlton.
Hot on their heels in 2nd place are Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues new to the league this season made it 3 wins from 3 a 100% winning start with victory away to Bedwell Rangers. Amy Gibbins scoring a hat-trick. Casey Chapman and Georgia Payne also on the scoresheet the final score 5-2. Jessica Sullivan scoring both goals for Bedwell Rangers in the 2nd half.
Potters Bar United Ladies new to the league this season are up to 3rd winning for the 2nd time this season edging a 7 goal thriller away from home against Hertford Town Ladies new Reserves side. Anastazia Rowszar put potters Bar into the lead 21 minutes int the 1st half. Becky Shephard pulling Hertford Town level with 5 minutes of the 1st period left. 1-1 at the break Janiece Allen restored Potters Bar lead 8 minutes into the 2nd half, Hertford Town levelling it through a Chloe Allen goal on 62 minutes. Back came Potters Bar Allen with her 2nd goal in the 71st minute. For a 3rd time Hertford Town levelled the score Shephard with her 2nd goal of the game on 76 minutes. 5 minutes later Allen completed her hat-trick to make it 4-3 Potters Bar holding Hertford Town at bay for the final 9 minutes to win the game.
Crawley Green Ladies were playing just their 2nd league match of the season, having lost their opening league game 7-5 against Evergreen Eagles had been involved in penalty shootouts in cup competition over the past 2 weekends winning one losing out in the other. Were away on Sunday playing new side Wheathamsted Ladies. Isn’t too many Round-Up’s go by without either Jessica McNamara or Nina Service scoring for Crawley Green Ladies and both netted a goal in the 1st half to see Crawley Green lead 2-0 at half-time. Sophia Pidgeon pulled it back to 2-1 for Wheathamsted 5 minutes into the 2nd half. Crawley Green soon extended their lead Mandy Cain-Murnane with the goal on 54 minutes. Both McNamara on 66 minutes and Service 3 minutes from time scored their 2nd goals of the game to see Crawley Green record a 5-1 win.
The start of the season in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One has seen Sandy Ladies and Sharnbrook WFC Jostling for the lead at the top of the table. The lead changed again this Sunday after the weekends results. Sandy Ladies moving back to the top of the table as they win their 4th successive league game to start the season were away to newly promoted, Hitchin Town Ladies at the weekend. One goal was enough to see them come away with all 3 points. Katie Seldon scoring the winning goal for Sandy Ladies. 3 defeats to start the season for Hitchin Town Ladies but all close results haven’t been thrashed and this is the 1st league game they failed to score in.
Sandy Ladies climb above Sharnbrook WFC after the side leading the table at the start of the day were beaten away from home by Bishops Stortford Ladies who were only playing their 2nd league match of the season having been involved in cup competitions early on in the season. Brooke White opened the scoring for Bishops Stortford inside the opening 5 minutes. Sharnbrook responding straight away Charlotte Mullins netting for the Bedfordshire side. White went on to score again for Bishops Stortford on the 19th and 27th minute to complete a 1st half hat-trick. Hannah Mead adding a 4th goal 11 minutes into the 2nd half to see Bishops Stortford win 4-1 to climb into 3rd spot.
Also climbing up the Division One table after the weekends results are Sherrardswood Ladies, up to 4th spot winning away to bottom side Letchworth Garden City Eagles. A Laure Marris hat-trick plus an own goal seeing the visitors win the match 4-1. Emily Jamieson with the goal for Letchworth.

2 ties were still to be played this Sunday in the 1st Round of the Beds & Herts Women’s League Cup. Division One side Houghton Athletic Ladies were at home playing Division Three side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues. Eased into the 2nd Round courtesy of a hat-trick scored by Emma Hawkes.
Royston Town Ladies Reserves from Division Two were away to Division Three side Shefford Town & Campton Ladies. also won the game 3-0 to advance to the 2nd Round Harriet Smith opening the scoring in the 1st half on 21 minutes, Grace Leslie doubling the advantage 4 minutes before the break. Lucy Williamson making it 3-0 2 minutes from time.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two
One game being played in Beds & Herts Divison Two this weekend with Evergreen Ladies travelling to the Moneyhole Playing Fields to take on Panshanger Ladies, both promoted from Division Three last season. It was Panshanger who took an early lead April SPang sending the ball into the back of the net on 7 minutes. Chemise Huitson added a 2nd goal for the home side 21 minutes in, Natalie Maher pegging it back to 2-1 at the break. Kathryn Light came on early 2nd half for Panshanger put them 3-1 ahead on 50 minutes. Huitson with her 2nd of the game scoring in the 53rd minute, Light scored her 2nd goal of the game too a minute later t make it 5-1 on 60 minutes Panshanger went further ahead Ellie Burke scoring. Evergreen pulled a goal back making it 6-2 before Burke went on to grab her 2nd goal of the game to see Panshanger up to 3rd in the Division Two table.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three
Evergreen Eagles move a point clear at the top of the Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three table after a 1-1 draw at home to Bedwell Rangers on Sunday, Samantha Takis with the goal for Evergreen, Sarah King on target in the 2nd half for Bedwell Rangers who start the season with a win and a draw to climb to 3rd in the table.
Up to 4th in the Division Three table are new side Potters Bar United Ladies playing competitively for the 1st time this season having forfeited their 1st league match were at home playing Hatfield Town Ladies on Sunday after contesting a goalless 1st half, Hatfield Town took the lead on 54 minutes, Milan Johnson with the goal. Potters Bar came back into the game Janiece Allen pulling it back to 1-1 with 15 minutes left on the clock. Allen scored again with 3 minutes left in the game to win it for Potters Bar.

Held off from doing The Round-Up for the Beds & Herts Women’s Football League early on as it has been a patchy start to the season fixture wise across the 3 divisions, finally as we begin October the fixture lists begin to fill out as more sides get their season kicked off at last.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division One
In Beds & Herts Women’s Division, Sharnbrook WFC have been setting the early pace promoted as Division Two Champions had started the season with 2 wins before being held to a draw by fellow promoted side Houghton Athletic Ladies last weekend. That allowed 2nd placed Sandy Ladies to close the gap to a point going into this Sunday’s 2nd versus 1st encounter. 2 wins from 2 for Sandy Ladies so far scoring 5 in both games. Amber Williams scored a brace plus a goal each for Harriet Ford and Chloe Reeves as Sandy Ladies go above Sharnbrook WFC to lead the table with a 4-2 win, Tracy Hutchinson 1st half and Gemma Franklin 2nd half with the goals for Sharnbrook.
Bishops Stortford Ladies and Hitchin Town Ladies the latter newly promoted to Division One this season finally got their league campaign started at the weekend. Both had faced each other just 7 days before in the 1st Round of the Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup, Hitchin Town Ladies the home side exiting the competition as Bishops Stortford beat them 5-1. Now meeting in the league Bishops Stortford Ladies were at home at Harvest Moon, a closer game edged the win by 2 goals to 1 Kathryn Stanley (pictured) and Samantha Tant with the goals. Garston Ladies lost out to Sharnbrook WFC at home on the opening day of the season back on 11th September had to wait a bit to play their next competitive fixture an away fixture against Letchworth Garden City Ladies, a single goal settling it for Garston picking up their 1st 3 points of the season courtesy of a goal scored by Emma Trill.
Houghton Athletic Ladies have started the season well promoted as runners-up in Division Two last season have 4 points from their opening 2 league matches. Were away to Sherrardswood Ladies at the weekend who they had knocked out of the FA Women’s Cup in 2nd Round Qualifying. Sherrardswood had started the season with an opening day defeat to Sandy Ladies, goals from Laura Cousins in the 1st half followed by 2 more from Laure Marris and Katy Jones saw them get their 1st 3 points of the season winning 3-1. Ciara Craig with the goal for Houghton Athletic Ladies.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two
Three league matches in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two on Sunday with leaders Garston Ladies FC 96 making it 3 wins from 3 to continue their perfect start to the season. At home they were leading bottom side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Clarets 2-0 at the break before going on to win the game 4-1. 4 different goalscorers, Hannah Burt, Leah Crocket, Leanne Hunt and Jade Roberts helping them to the 3 points. Charlotte Demman on target for Woburn & Wavendon.
2nd placed Flitwick Ladies have started life in Division Two well following relegation last season. Recovering well from an opening day loss at home to Garston, to win their next 2 league matches were at home this Sunday hosting Evergreen Ladies who finally had a league game the Division Three runners-up playing their 1st game in Division Two. Rebecca Freeman scoring 2 goals for the visitors as they won a point in the game, Flitwick scoring twice too to see the game end 2-2, Faye Moxon and Laura Scott from the penalty spot with the goals.
Panshanger Ladies were also promoted from Division Three to play in Division Two this season, had started the season with 2 away defeats were at home for the 1st time this season at the Moneyhole Playing Fields playing Watton Ladies at the weekend. Started well Ellie Burke putting them in front inside 10 minutes, Chemise Huitson adding a 2nd goal on 22 minutes that the lead at half-time. Huitson added another goal early in the 2nd half to make it 3-0. Watton pulled a goal back but this didn’t dent Panshanger’s confidence going on to score a 4th goal, Patience Ndlovu with her 1st for the club. Huitson went on to score her hat-trick. Watton pulling a goal back late on the final score 5-2 sees Panshanger up to 5th in the table.
Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three
Still sides yet to get off the mark in Beds & Herts Division Three, two that did at the weekend with mixed fortunes. Hertford Town Ladies have a new Reserves side this season the 1st team promoted to the Eastern Region Women’s Football League the Reserve side has had to wait to get going. A fixture at last away to Shefford Town & Campton Ladies who had started the season with a 2-2 against Hatfield Town Ladies remain unbeaten both sides collecting a point in what is a rarity in women’s football a 0-0 draw.
A totally different story in the final match to being you in the Beds & Herts Round-Up, 12 goals in this game with Crawley Green Ladies playing their 1st league game of the season hosting Evergreen Eagles. A tough season for the visitors last season relegated from Division Two started with a win in Division Three 6-3 at home to new side Wheathamsted Ladies. Held a 5-2 lead against Crawley Green at half time but the hosts came back into it scoring 3 more goals to get 5 themselves not enough to take anything from the match however as Evergreen Eagles added 2 more goals 2nd half to win it 7-5. Christie Brewer with a hat-trick plus a brace for Samantha Talks with a goal each for Rebecca Corcoran and Amber Charlton the scorers for Evergreen Eagles. Jessica McNamara scoring a hat-trick for Crawley Green Ladies with Nina Service and Yasmin Wacey also on target.
