Newmarket Town Ladies go 2nd in the table as they won their 2nd match in the Premiership to keep up their own 100% winning start. Away to ICA Sports Ladies. A big win at home for St Ives Town ladies saw them win their 1st league game of the season were at home to Park Ladies. Amy Seymour-Shove netting 4 times in the game. Georgia Stancombe with a hat-trick Tierney Coulson also scoring an own goal completing a 9-2 winning margin the 3 points putting St Ives into 3rd spot in the fledgling Premiership table.
Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North
Battle between the top two in the Cambridgeshire Championship North on Sunday with leaders Wisbech Town Ladies away to 2nd placed Ketton Ladies both winning their 2 opening matches in contrasting fashion, Wisbech Town hitting 32 goals without reply in their 2 games, Ketton clinching a narrow win against Hungate Rovers home and away to get their 6 points. A closer game for Wisbech Town this time around Wisbech Town ending Ketton’s winning start beating them by 3 goals to 1 to move onto 9 points 3 clear at the top of the table. 2 more goals for striker Sophie Gutteridge along with a strike from Shushannah Feast.
Starting the season with 2 narrow defeats against Ketton Ladies, Hungate Rovers Ladies were away to new side Pinchbeck United Ladies at the weekend. Kelsey McKenna found the back of the net scoring 7 goals in the game for Hungate Rovers. Lauren Barnes scoring a brace with Bianca Taylor also grabbing herself a goal in a 10-0 win that see Hungate Rovers up to 3rd with the sides below playing less games.
Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South
Just the one match played in the Championship South at the weekend 3rd placed Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds at home to 2nd placed Cambridge Rangers Women both starting the season with a win. Early days in the league a handful of games played 2 sides yet to get off the mark. Marie Stubbings was on target scoring 5 goals for Fulbourn with Emma Clark and Yasmine Upson getting a goal a piece to see Fulbourn win 7-1 and move to the top of the table.
Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup
One game played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup this weekend with Championship South side Histon Ladies Reserves hosting Championship North side Spalding United Ladies in the 1st Round. A huge win for Histon to see them progress. Kirsty Lemmon-Sparks top scoring in the match with 5 goals. Elsewhere the goals were shared out Samantha Cousins getting a brace. Daniella Briggs, Katrina Brown, Hannah Gordon, Katie Webb, Sophie Wing, Carly Dawson and Casey Bull all getting a goal in a 14-0 win.
Netherton United Ladies came back from a goal down to win 3-1 to make it 2 wins from 2 at the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership at a local derby match at home to ICA Sports Ladies it was the visitors who took an early lead Clare Knibbs putting ICA Sports 1-0 up in the 9th minute. Held onto that lead for almost an hour before Netherton found a reply captain Megan Parrett levelling the scores for Netherton. Soon after ICA Sports were reduced to 10 Donna Nicholls sent off. A player advantage Netherton went on to take the lead with 15 minutes left, Yasmin Green scoring. Parrett making sure of the 3 points scoring her 2nd of the game with a couple of minutes left.
Promoted as Championship South Champions last season Cambridge City Ladies Development started the new season in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership away to Park Ladies. Erin Fox netting a brace for the visitors there were goals to for Rachel Pearce, Molly White and Morgan Want in a 5-0 victory.
Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North
In the Championship North, Wisbech Town Ladies have scored a whopping 32 goals in their opening two games without reply to lead the table. 14-0 last weekend to Orton Rangers were at home this Sunday to new side Pinchbeck United Ladies a tough beginning for the young side. Sophie Gutteridge scoring a double hat-trick last Sunday went one better this time around netting 7 times. Chloe Riches also claiming 4 goals to her name with Annie Rooks grabbing a hat-trick. Faye Kowalewsky scoring twice along with a goal for both Kaylie Swinden and Katie Garner in a crushing 18-0 scoreline.
Keeping up with Wisbech Town Ladies with points gained if not goals scored are Ketton Ladies 2 wins from 2 as they edged out Hungate Rovers Ladies in a close game for the 2nd successive weekend winning 4-3 on their patch last weekend Ketton travelling to Hungate this time around. The score 3-2 to Ketton this time around.
Lauren Laws scored 5 goals for Wisbech St Mary Ladies as they began their season at home to newcomers Spalding United Ladies on Sunday. Carlie Knight, Megan Ratcliffe and Abi Roach-Smith also getting a goal for Wisbech St Mary in their opening game the 8-0 putting them into 3rd position.
Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South
In the Championship South, 2 wins from 2 for Histon Ladies Reserves sees them lead the way. Only one game played in the league on Sunday. Histon travelling to play Isleham United Ladies. Philippa Hayden-Evans amongst the goals for the away side finding the back of the net on 4 occasions. Angelica Fachechi, Sarah Freestone and Emma Gillespie also scoring for Histon who ran out 7-2 winners. Nicole Bailey and Rebekah Finch with Isleham United’s goals.

March Town United Ladies were at home to Orton Rangers Ladies in the opening round of the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup the Premiership side too strong for their Championship North opponents progressing with a comfortable 6-0 victory. Captain, Shannon Kelly scoring a hat-trick, with a brace for Emma Frost and a goal for Shannon Shaw.
The women’s county league season began in Cambridgeshire this Sunday with their once again being 3 divisions the Premiership and Championships North & South. 24 sides all together with sadly a few drop-outs before the season began. 8 sides in each league. Think all 3 leagues will be competitive at the top with several sides in contention for top spot over the season.
Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership
Last season’s Premiership Champion’s Cambridge United WFC Reserves have moved up into Regional football. Bar Hill Ladies are no more hoping to set-up with a different club the move hasn’t happened this season. Joining the Premiership this season are March Town United Ladies and Cambridge City Ladies Development, Championship North & South Champions respectfully last season. 3 matches played in the Premiership on the opening Sunday.
Netherton United Ladies finished runners-up in both the league and league cup final last season. Began this season away to Park Ladies. Captain, Megan Parrett scoring a hat-trick for Netherton with striker Yasmin Green bagging a brace on the opening day a goal too for Alice MacNichol seeing the visitors start the season with a confident win 6-0 to sit top of the pile.
March Town United Ladies began life in the top flight in Cambridgeshire with a trip to Peterborough to play ICA Sports Ladies. Goals for Shannon Shaw and Emma Frost seeing March win the 3 points in their opening fixture to set them on their way.
St Ives Town Ladies were hosting Newmarket Town Ladies in their opening league fixture in the Premiership. Both were in confident mood having won their matches the previous weekend in the FA Women’s Cup 1st Round Qualifying. A competitive rivalry growing between the two sides both ambitious and wanting to win the Premiership title. Will also face each other in the Championship South this season with Newmarket having an established Reserves side, St Ives Town beginning a Development side this season. A close contest between the pair, Anna Hicks scoring for St Ives, it was Newmarket who won the 3 points on the opening day winning 2-1, goals for Cindy Ponder and new signing Brooke Wickens.
Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North
Wisbech Town Ladies began their season in the Championship North with a huge away win as they played Orton Rangers Ladies starting their 2nd season moving from the Championship South last season. A tough start to life in the Championship North against a side that should if they can find some consistency be amongst those gunning for top spot. Certainly couldn’t have started any better running up a double figure winning score. Sophie Gutteridge starting her season with a double hat-trick. There was a hat-trick to for Chloe Riches. Faye Kowalewsky scoring a brace, with goals to for Shushannah Feast, Annie Rooks and Emma Woods the final score 14-0 to Wisbech.
A much tighter contest in the other opening day fixture in the Championship North with Ketton Ladies hosting Hungate Rovers Ladies. A 7 goal thriller between the sides Kesley McKenna scoring a brace along with a goal for Laura Punter for Hungate Rovers. It wasn’t enough to take anything from the match as Ketton scored 4 in reply to start the season with a 4-3 win.
Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South
3 matches played in the Championship South on the opening weekend and a great start to the season for Cambridge Rangers Women in recent seasons at the wrong end of the table find themselves top after the opening day. Traditionally kicking off their home games at 11am were hosting new side Burwell Tigers. Robyn Barlow scoring a hat-trick for Cambridge Rangers along the way to an 8-1 win, 2 players netting a brace Rebecca Lewis and Cornelia Buettner with Stephanie Rowan also on the scoresheet. Vicky Murrell with the goal for Burwell Tigers.
Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds began the season with an away game against Isleham United Ladies. Marie Stubbings getting Fulbourn’s season off to a fantastic start scoring 4 goals in the game with Katie Luddy and Yasmin Upson both scoring too in a 6-1 victory. Vicky Beeton netting for Isleham.
Newmarket Town Reserves began their season at home to the newly formed Histon Ladies Reserves. The visitors coached by Ian Freestone formerly of Milton Ladies has a few former Milton players in the Histon squad including a very familiar name to readers of The Round-Up, Kirsty Lemmon-Sparks a prolific goalscorer netting 71 goals in her previous 2 seasons. A close contest away to Newmarket, Dominika Szary and Kate Silver scoring for the home side. Samantha Cousins scoring twice for Histon along with a strike by Lemmon-Sparks to see the new side start with a win.
Cambridge United WFC Reserves have achieved an amazing treble as they won at the weekend to wrap up the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership title. Having won in midweek away to fellow title contenders Newmarket Town Ladies 3-1 knew one more win would secure the league to add to the Junior Invitation Cup and League Cup already in the bank. Were at home to another potential title hopeful and often close rival Cambridge University Women. Goals from Lauren Gibson and Ebony Rule taking the strike duo onto 18 & 19 goals respectfully along with a goal from Faith Hewitt seeing Cambridge United WFC Reserves to a 3-0 win.

That midweek loss to Cambridge United WFC Reserves dealt a hammer blow to Newmarket Town Ladies own title hopes needing their rivals to drop points now it was vital they picked up maximum points from their final games. Were at home this Sunday taking on St Ives Town Ladies. A result that could have gone either way a single goal settled the game and it was St Ives Town Ladies leaving the Ridgeons Stadium with the win, Hannah Seymour Shove scoring the winning goal.
Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North
With league leaders March Town United Ladies not in action this Sunday it was a chance for their closest rival 2nd placed Swineshead Institute Ladies to close the gap to 3 points as they travelled to place 2nd bottom side Hungate Rovers Ladies. But despite a goal for Ellie Spendlow, Swineshead became unstuck suffering defeat as Hungate Rovers won the game 3-1 to record just their 3rd league win of the season.
That loss saw Wisbech Town Ladies take advantage and climb above them into 2nd spot as they were taking on local rivals Wisbech St Mary Ladies for the 2nd successive weekend winning at home last Sunday made it a double win taking all 3 points in the away fixture Sophie Gutteridge scoring all of their goals in a 4-1 victory. With one game left to play however Wisbech Town Ladies can’t catch March United Ladies.
6th placed Boston United Ladies and 5th placed Ketton Ladies were both awarded a home win at the weekend. One more game from the Championship North to bring you played this Tuesday P&L Diamonds hosting Ketton Ladies, plenty of goals in this one, 4 goals for Courtney Coles, a brace for Emma Pollard with a goal each for Katie Steward, Courtney Hammond and Georgia Clarke seeing P&L Motors Diamonds take the 3 points with a 9-3 win.
That result leaves only one side who can catch March Town United Ladies now, Swineshead Institute Ladies in 3rd they are away to Boston United Ladies on Thursday night. Loose it and March Town United will need just a point from their final 3 games, should they win March Town United need 4 points to see them become league champions.

The league title in the Cambridgeshire Championship South has already been settled, Cambridge City Ladies Development taking the title. Newmarket Town Ladies Reserves are now confirmed as runners-up after results went their way at the weekend. The only side who could catch them Milton Ladies at home to 2nd bottom Cambridge Rangers. Kirsty Lemmon-Sparks took her seasons goals tally to 32 with a brace but it wasn’t enough to secure the 3 points as Cambridge Rangers found the back of the net at the other end to take home a good point. Milton dropping to 4th with Fulbourn Bluebirds getting awarded a home win against bottom side Orton Rangers Ladies in their final fixture.
5th placed Riverside Reserves were at home to Isleham United Ladies in their penultimate league game. Amy Magnus and Hannah Stubbs both netting a brace in the game with a goal each for Clare Knibbs and Jess Hill seeing the home side win 6-1. Louisa Harwood with the goal for Isleham United Ladies who finish 6th.
The Round-Up generally covers all the action from the previous Sunday however at this time of year as clubs and the county FA’s try to get all their fixtures played we can have football all over the place so this edition of the Cambridgeshire Round-Up starts Friday night with Cambridge United WFC Reserves playing Netherton United Ladies in the League Cup Final. Netherton United reaching their 1st ever final, Cambridge United WFC Reserves into their 3rd successive final looking to win it this time around and complete a cup double after winning the Junior Invitation Cup the week before.
The sides 1st and 2nd in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership looked fairly evenly matched in the early exchanges Cambridge holding a deep line inviting Netherton on left room at the back, goalkeeper Katie Cooper showing early on she was prepared to come racing out of her box if necessary. Cambridge took the lead from a corner kick Liz Pamplin header going back across goal headed home by Ebony Rule at the near post. Her strike partner Lauren Gibson made it 2-0 as she took the ball past the onrushing Cooper at the top of her area then keeping her composure picked her spot to make it 2-0. Netherton pushed early on for a reply to try and get back into the game risked getting caught at the back, and it was Cambridge who went on to extend their lead from another corner substitute Faith Hewitt heading the ball down towards the far post Rule on hand to bundle the ball home for her 2nd of the game Cambridge winning the League Cup Final 3-0.

Pressure on the Round-Up with a match on a Tuesday night, the Supporting Women’s Football Blog off to Newmarket to watch them take on leaders Cambridge United WFC Reserves. A win for Newmarket Town would put them 2 points above Cambridge United, a win for the away side however would see them go 4 points clear at the top of the table. Sun cream needed on Sunday it was positively freezing at the Rigdeons Stadium with a hailstorm prior to the match. A new challenge too for the match notes Cambridge United having picked up their new shirts had no numbers printed upon the back, goo job I’d seen them 4 days ago.
Newmarket had the opportunity to take the lead in the opening 10 minutes the referee spotting an infringement inside the box pointing to the penalty spot. Cindy Ponder firing her shot straight at Sarah Carroll the goalkeeper holding onto the ball. Midway through the 1st half Cambridge took the lead themselves Lauren Gibson heading home from a corner kick, then 5 minutes before half time turned home a superb effort from the top of the area. 2-0 the advantage at half-time Newmarket pressed for a reply only for Gibson to go on and complete her hat-trick running onto Tahnee Perfect’s ball into the area to slide it past the keeper. Swineshead Institute Ladies remain March Town United’s closest rivals as they won at home taking on 2nd bottom Hungate Rovers Ladies on Sunday Ellie Spendlow scoring twice with a goal a piece for Leah Ardron, Kirsty Hewitt and Gabrielle Smith in a 5-0 victory.
Wisbech Town Ladies are 2 points further back in 3rd place in the Championship North table as they came out on top of the Wisbech derby at home to Wisbech St Mary Ladies on Sunday. A brace from Sophie Gutteridge taking her onto 22 goals for the season sealing the 3 points. An injury for Wisbech St Mary’s player Annalise Scales who broke her leg in the game, Women’s Football East wishes her a full and speedy recovery.
Ketton Ladies moved up to 4th position in the table as they edged out Boston United Ladies at home 3-2 on Sunday. Ketton were in action at home again last night hosting P&L Motors Diamonds the visitors beating Ketton soundly 10-1 under the lights.

In the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South Champions, Cambridge City Ladies Development were away to bottom side Orton Rangers Ladies on Sunday. The home side scoring twice in the 1st half Cambridge City matching them before going on to win 5-2 in the 2nd half, Amy Reed scoring a hat-trick, with a brace for Rachel Littlewood. The win seeing Cambridge City end their season unbeaten in the league on 40 points just the 2 points dropped aswell as runners-up in the Junior Invitation Cup a great 1st season.
Fulbourn Bluebirds in 4th position in the Championship South table close the gap to 3rd placed Milton Ladies to just a point with a good away result to Isleham United Ladies on Sunday. Sharon Pinner getting a hat-trick along with a goal each for Emma Clark and Sarah Gee in a 5-0 win.
5th placed Riverside Reserves were away to Cambridge Rangers on Sunday in an 11am kick-off Amy Magnus claimed a brace in a 4-0 win with Clare Knibbs and Gemma Fitzjohn also finding the back of the net.
For the 2nd successive Sunday a home win is awarded against Bar Hill Ladies as they are unable to fulfil a fixture as the fixture as the league season draws to an end games to catch up on little time to fit them in the league presented with little choice. In the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North, leaders March Town United Ladies unbeaten record finally came to an end after 11 matches played having beaten Swineshead Institute Ladies away from home 7-3 in an entertaining match last Sunday were at home hosting in the reverse fixture this time around and again the match saw plenty of goals, despite having the early chances March Town United fell behind on the 22nd minute, awarded a penalty the visitors scored from the spot, Gabby Smith putting Swineshead into the lead. Ellie Spendlow who had been fouled for the penalty then doubled the lead for the visitors. 2-0 the lead at half-time.
Spendlow extended Swineshead’s lead in the 2nd half before Adele Munday pulled it back to 3-1 with a 20 yard strike for March Town. With the home side pressing for more goals Swineshead hit them on the counter Spendlow completing her hat-trick taking her goals to 32 for the season. March Town captain, Jade Pointer reduced the deficit to 4-2 in the final 10 minutes, Swineshead going on to win 4-2 the win lifting them all the way from 6th to 2nd spot in the Championship North table. March Town despite the defeat remain 6 points clear at the top.
Wisbech St Mary Ladies drop to 3rd on goal difference as they were held to a 1-1 draw at home to Boston United Ladies on Sunday. Catherine Ray with the goal for Wisbech St Mary remains very tight in the league with several matches still to fit in. 2 points between 2nd and 6th. The point for Boston United Ladies lifting them up from 5th to 4th.
Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South
3 points on the board for bottom side Orton Rangers Ladies in the Cambridgeshire Championship South after this weekends results. Didn’t kick a ball however were instead awarded the home win after opponents Cambridge Rangers couldn’t field a side. Still it means they will end the season with something on the board.

All of the visitors goals coming in the 2nd half Taylor Lynn-Jones scoring on 67 minutes. Amanda Wainwright netted a brace with a goal from Ceylon Hickman squeezed in between her goals. Cambridge United WFC Reserves had already booked their place in this season’s League Cup Final were vying for a place in the Women’s Junior Invitation Cup Final this Sunday defending the trophy were at home to Championship North side Wisbech Town Ladies who they beat in last season’s final. A goal from Liz Pamplin along with a double for Teonie Peyton sealing a 3-1 victory for Cambridge United WFC to see them into yet another final. Kimberly Fairweather scoring the goal for Wisbech Town. An all Cambridge final in the Junior Invitation Cup their opponents Cambridge City Ladies new Development side who were also celebrating this weekend (I’ll get onto that in a bit) The Final to be played Weds 13th April further details to follow.

In the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North, league leaders, March Town United Ladies maintained their unbeaten record in a high scoring win away to Swineshead Institute Ladies on Sunday. Livvi Hodges putting the visitors into the lead inside the opening 2 minutes. Swineshead didn’t take long to get back on level terms Kirsty Hewitt making it 1-1. Hodges was on target to restore March’s lead however the sides went into the changing rooms all square at the break, Ellie Spendlow scoring to make it 2-2 for Swineshead just before the half-time whistle.

Swineshead took the lead for the 1st time in the game in the opening minute of the 2nd half Spendlow netting her 2nd of the game. March didn’t take long to respond Hodges completing her hat-trick pulling the sides level again then found the back of the net again from a free-kick to make it 4-3. Gemma Ramsey scoring her 1st ever competitive goal for March extended the lead to 5-3. Boston United Ladies move up to 5th in the Championship North table after the weekends results were on their travels playing Hungate Rovers Ladies this Sunday. New signing Tracey Duxbury-Mead scored twice in the game taking her on 4 goals from 3 appearances. Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South
Cambridge City Ladies Development side clinched the Cambridgeshire Championship South title with 3 games left to play in their 1st season together this weekend and having reached the Junior Invitation Cup Final could yet be celebrating a league and cup double. Won at home on Sunday taking on Cambridge Rangers a brace for Megan Tonks along with a goal a piece for Erin Fox, India Duffy and Anna Wilson seeing them to a 5-0 win. Congratulations to Cambridge City Ladies on their title success.
Plenty of goals too elsewhere in the Championship South as Newmarket Town Ladies Reserves climbed back into 2nd above Milton Ladies winning at home against bottom side Orton Rangers Ladies. Winning the match 6-0 they had 6 different names on the scoresheet. Captain Joeli Kirby, Dominika Szary, Hollie Turner, Siobhan White, Yasmin Woodfield and Elicia Cooper.
8 goal were shared between Isleham United Ladies and Milton Ladies on Sunday both having to settle for a share of the points too drawing the game 4-4! At home Isleham United had for different goalscorers, with Vicky Beeton, Amy Ellis, Rachael Turner and Laura Todd all finding the back of the net for Milton Carly Dawson scored along with another hat-trick for Kirsty Lemmon-Sparks taking her to 28 goals for the season from just 9 appearances.

This season’s Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup Final will be contested between Netherton United Ladies and Cambridge United WFC Reserves. The semi-finals of the competition were played a neutral venues this Sunday. Both featuring sides from the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership. Netherton United Ladies 2nd in the league were playing 5th placed Bar Hill Ladies at Fulbourn. An own goal putting Netherton 1-0 up inside the opening 5 minutes of the tie. Goals from Emily Johnson and Yasmin Green seeing Netherton leading the semi-final 3-0 at the break. An early goal in the 2nd half from Natalie Gaches putting Netherton in control of the game 4-0, captain Megan Parrett made it 5-0 midway through the 2nd half to see Netherton United Ladies reach the League Cup Final. Also at Fulbourn on the adjacent pitch the other Cambridgeshire League Cup Final was taking place with Cambridge United WFC Reserves aiming to reach their 4th successive final taking on St Ives Town Ladies aiming to reach their 1st formed just 2 seasons ago. After the 90 minutes it was Cambridge United who were celebrating winning the game 2-0 with goals from Ebony Rule and Carolyn Sarafain.

One game played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership this Sunday with bottom side Park Ladies hosting Cambridge University Women. Amy Newell scoring for Park Ladies in the 1st half the home side trailing 2-1 at half-time. Different story 2nd half Cambridge University finding the back of the net regularly to comfortably take all 3 points move them up to 4th in the Premiership table. Amanda Wainwright scoring 4 goals. Megan Tonks scored a hat-trick in the tie with Cambridge City going on to win the game 7-1 to reach a cup final in their 1st season. Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North
It was to the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North that the Supporting Women’s Football Blog’s latest match report came from, unbeaten league leaders, March Town United Ladies hosting Wisbech Town Ladies in a local derby the visitors finding some form coming into the game 3 successive league wins lifting them up into 3rd spot in the table. A competitve derby match Wisbech Town started well pressuring March for the ball, awarded a free-kick midway through the 1st half it was a great strike from Wisbech captain, Emily Stephenson to send the ball arrowing towards goal over the keeper and in to give the visitors the lead.
1-0 the advantage to Wisbech at the break the 2nd half was fought with the same intensity as the 1st March having the numbers on the bench to rotate players pushed for an equaliser were finding the Wisbech defence a tough nut to crack eventually found an opening midfielder Georgia Brown (pictured) having made some good attacking runs for March broke from midfield receiving a lay off burst into the box taking the shot the ball smashed down off the crossbar landing in the six yard box Brown following up reached it first putting the ball past the keepers outstretched leg to make it 1-1 the final score the points shared keeping March’s unbeaten run in tact also enough to put Wisbech into 2nd spot. A big win away from home for Netherton United Ladies sees them move above Cambridge United WFC Reserves into 2nd place in the Premiership table. The semi-finals for this season’s Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup are known after the last 2 remaining quarter final ties were played this Sunday. Cambridge United WFC Reserves were hosting local rivals Cambridge University Women often a close game between the 2 sides this game was no different just the one goal settling the tie and it was scored by Cambridge United WFC Reserves, Lucy Gateson to put them into the last 4 of the competition along with Netherton United Ladies and Bar Hill Ladies.
Making up the last 4 of the league cup is another Premiership side, St Ives Town Ladies hosting Championship North side P&L Motors Diamonds goals from Connie Liddiard, Hannah Seymour-Shove, Georgia Stancombe and Amy Seymour-Shove saw St Ives Town into the semi-finals with a 4-2 win.

In the Championship North leaders March Town United Ladies extended their lead at the top of the table to 6 points keeping up their 100% league record with a 7th win on Sunday were at home playing Hungate Rovers Ladies. A single goal enough for March Town United to claim all 3 points Shannon Kelly putting the ball into the back of the net.
A few more goals seen between Ketton Ladies and Swineshead Institute Ladies at the weekend the two sides playing out a 9 goal thriller it was hoe side Ketton who edged it in the end taking the 3 points with a 5-4 win that sees them leap up the Championship North table from 5th spot into 2nd.

In the Championship South league leaders Cambridge City Ladies Development squad remain unbeaten recording their 10th win from 11 games played to lead the table by 12 points. Were away this Sunday playing Fulbourn Bluebirds. Kayleigh Whitehead opened the scoring for Cambridge City sending a shot from range over the keeper to make it 1-0 the lead 2-0 at half-time Tegan Wyman getting the goal 5 minutes before the break. The visitors extended the lead 10 minutes into the 2nd half Ellie Geoghan with the goal, Erin Fox making it 4-0 with just over 20 minutes left to see the points won.
Milton Ladies climb back up into 2nd place in the Championship South table with a double figure win away to bottom side Orton Rangers Ladies at the weekend. Sam Cousins netting herself a hat-trick there were braces too for Lucie Buekova, Dora Dixon and Rebekah Finch with Alana Lander also on target along with an OG to see Milton win 11-1.
4th placed Isleham United Ladies were away on Sunday morning playing Cambridge Rangers. Laura Todd scoring 2 goals in the match with Lily Turner and Louisa Harwood also getting on the scoresheet in a 4-0 win.
Across the woe’s county leagues in the East it was a postponement hit weekend with just 15 games beating the weather across the 5 county leagues in total with a total loss in Suffolk, just 3 games beating the weather in Cambridgeshire. Plenty of goals scored in those games however 29 in total as 2 sides picked up double figure wins.

A huge win at home saw Netherton United Ladies overhaul Bar Hill Ladies goal difference and move above them into 3rd spot in the Premiership this Sunday were hosting bottom side Park Ladies at The Grange. Emily Johnson opened the scoring for Netherton after 9 minutes, going on to score a total of 5 goals in the game the rest coming in the 2nd half. Yasmin Green scored to make it 2-0 7 minutes later would go on to complete a hat-trick for herself in the 2nd half too.Megan Strickland made it 3-0 to Netherton as the game closed in on the half-hour mark with captain Megan Parrett seeing her side lead 4-0 at half-time scoring 5 minutes before the whistle. 11-0 was also the winning margin in the only Championship game to beat the weather at the weekend with Isleham United Ladies hosting bottom side Orton Rangers Ladies in the Championship South. Laura McAllister scoring a hat-trick in the game, there were braces for Louisa Harwood, Laura Todd and Anita Butters with Vicky Beeton also scoring in the emphatic win.
