Well unfortunately it’s bad news to start another Round-Up for the 2nd week running following the news Sandy Ladies from Beds & Herts Division One has folded after 14 season’s another side made the announcement this weekend with ERWFL Premier Division side Colchester Town Ladies folding their senior side. Struggling for players were league cup winners just 2 season’s ago a tough call as ever for any side to make wish everyone involved with the club all the best for the future.

ERWFL Premier Division

Colchester Town Ladies folding will see some adjustment to the ERWFL Premier Division table. Leaders Writtle Ladies were at home on Sunday looking to make it 7 seven straight league wins keep ahead of rivals Billericay Town Ladies. Were hosting Brentwood Town Ladies. Courtney Clarke and Amy Simmons scoring for Writtle Ladies, Brentwood scoring twice too Leah Cowan and Georgia Holdaway on target. The points shared Brentwood holding on after going down to 10 players for over 45 minutes after a nasty injury to Cowan suffering ligament damage and a possible fractured ankle. Wishing her all the best for a speedy recovery.

Writtle dropping points at the top of the table didn’t cost them however as they are no the only unbeaten side in the ERWFL Premier Division. 2nd placed Billericay Town Ladies seeing their 100% winning start in the league come to an end away to Cambridge City Ladies who have turned their form around in the league with a 3rd straight league win all by 2 goals to one to push on it 4th spot in the table. Goals from Charlotte Gillies and Bella Simmons enough to take all 3 points with Paris Smith getting the goal for Billericay Town.

AFC Dunstable Ladies are another side in the ERWFL Premier Division rediscovering their form after a shaky start to the season as low as 10th at one point a 2nd straight league win at home to Lowestoft Town Ladies sees them keep hold of 5th position. Charlotte South netting a hat-trick at Creasey park there were goals too for Danielle Carty, Beth Stanton and Claudia Attenborough in a 7-1 win. Nicole Sheldrake with the Lowestoft goal.

   Colney Heath Ladies travelled up to Suffolk at the weekend to play AFC Sudbury Ladies. A goal from Holly Sheridan saw them leading the contest 1-0 at half-time. Couldn’t hold onto the lead 2nd half with Sudbury levelling the scores from a corner kick Rebecca Chandler putting the ball into the back of the net to see the sides take a point each.

  In the end there were points dropped for all three sides in the top 3 of the ERWFL Premier Division with Acle United Ladies having to settle for a point at home to Royston Town Ladies on Sunday. A bright start Acle taking a first half lead with new signing Naomi Cooper from Nottingham Forest coming off the bench to send the ball past the Royston keeper on 35 minutes to give the hosts a 1-0 lead at the break. Becky Shephard levelled the scores for Royston early in the 2nd half. A battling performance seeing them keep Acle from getting back in front to take a point home from the game needed too with Colchester folding they are occupying bottom spot.

ERWFL Division One North

ERWFL Division One North leaders King’s Lynn Town Ladies made the long trip down to Essex to face bottom side Silver End United Ladies with just 10 players available. Despite this a hard working and spirited performance saw them come away with all 3 points a double from Vikttorija Burkauskaite securing a narrow 2-1 win. Lindsey Cowell netting the goal for Silver End.

The win made all the better as the 3 points extend King’s Lynn’s lead at the top of the table to 4 points after 2nd placed Ipswich Wanderers Ladies lost heavily away to Wymondham Town Ladies finally returning to league action after their recent cup distractions. The two sides drawing 2-2 at Ipswich Wanderers on the opening game of the season a different story this time around, Ipswich Wanderers affected by injuries Wymondham Town are in great form scoring plenty of goals and that continued, Laura Nicholls top scoring with 5 in the match, their were hat-tricks too for Mollie O’Callaghan and Nadine Basson the latter starting on the bench. Alice Collins and Brooke Moreno also getting on the scoresheet in a 13-2 win. Jade Horne and Michelle Taylor-Allum scoring the goals for Ipswich Wanderers.

ERWFL Division One South

  6 straight league wins now for Stevenage Ladies Reserves in ERWFL Division One South sees them open up an huge 9 point lead at the top of the table and yet to concede a goal in those 6 games either as their goals scored reached 40! At home at the weekend taking on Harlow Town Ladies who they had beaten 1-0 at the Harlow Arena earlier in the season a late winning goal finally ending Harlow’s 2 season winning run. Once again it was a single goal that took all 3 points this Sunday, Hayley Wood Thompson scoring for Stevenage to keep up their 100% winning start to the season.

   Little Thurrock Dynamos Ladies move above Harlow Town Ladies into 2nd in the ERWFL Division One South table after they to won at the weekend to maintain their own 100% winning start to the league albeit having played 3 matches as a pose to Stevenage’s 6. At home to Essex rivals Hutton Ladies for the 3rd time in their last 4 games the previous two in cup competitions narrowly winning both they won for a 3rd time coming back from being 2-1 down at the break goals from Sophie Dowman, Eloise Ives and Abbie Simmonds seeing them win the 2nd half 4-2.

  A 1st league win of the season takes Hertford Town Ladies off the bottom of the ERWFL Division One South as they won away to Bishops Stortford Ladies having lost to their Hertfordshire rivals 3 times already this season in league and cup. A brace for Donna Watts sealing a 2-0 win.

FAWPL Cup

A limited programme of fixtures in the FAWPL this weekend with several sides involved in County Cup action. Two ties taking place in the 1st Round of the FAWPL Cup with another Chichester City Ladies away tie against Plymouth Argyle Ladies falling foul of the weather with Storm Brian arriving on the South West Coast. Both ties played saw FAWPL South East Division One sides at home to Southern Division opposition. 

  A good test at home for Ipswich Town Ladies in 4th place in South East Division One at home to C&K Basildon Ladies 4th in the Southern Division both sides enjoying a good start to the season. It was Ipswich Town who went on to cause a cup upset by knocking out their higher league opponents a single goal enough to win the game scored by Zoe Cossey chipping the goalkeeper from outside the box.

   Stevenage Ladies were hosting South Division side Coventry United Ladies in the 1st Round of the League Cup. Alison Hall putting Coventry into an 11th minute lead, Stevenage keeping the scoreline down to just a single goal at the break. Helen Dermody doubling Coventry’s advantage 10 minutes into the 2nd half. It was enough to see Coventry advance through to the next round.

FAWPL Plate

3 ties featuring sides from the FAWPL Southern and South East Division One in the 1st Round of the FAWPL Plate played this Sunday. Luton Town Ladies made the trip down to Kent to play Gillingham FC Ladies. It was the South East Division One side who were leading their higher league opponents at half-time a 12th minute goal from Nicola Henman putting Luton 1-0 up. Gillingham getting themselves back into the game awarded a penalty in the 70th minute was duly dispatched by Danielle Farmer to make it 1-1. That’s the way it finished after 90 minutes the tie heading into extra-time. Two quick goals from Henman and then Jess McKay put Luton Town 3-1 up in the extra period. Again Gillingham were to come back an own goal ad then a strike from new signing Kylie Manktelow making it 3-3. It was Luton who would have the final say with Henman scoring her 3rd of the match late in the 2nd period of extra-time to see Luton with 4-3 to progress in the competition.

An all South East Division One clash in the FAWPL Plate 1st Round saw Milton Keynes Dons Ladies at home to Denham United Ladies this Sunday. The two sides had shared the points in the points in the league last weekend with a 1-1 draw at Denham. Another close contest saw the sides go into the dressing rooms goalless at the half-time whistle. The game was heading into the last 15 minutes in the 2nd half before a goal was breached. Amelia Hazard the scorer putting Milton Keynes Dons ahead. A 2nd goal followed Kerry Newman on target to secure the win for the visitors and see Milton Keynes Dons progress.

  At last a much welcomed victory for Swindon Town Ladies at the weekend a plenty of goals too for the side bottom of the FAWPL Southern Division at home to South West Division One side Maidenhead United Ladies in the 1st Round of the League Plate. Swindon getting the 1st goal on 36 minutes Annie Martin finding the back of the net. Mia Mugford added a 2nd goal for Swindon a minute before half-time. Martin extending the lead to 3-0 just 4 minutes into the 2nd half with her 2nd of the game. Lucy Casey pulling a goal back on 57 minutes for Maidenhead. Swindon then went on to take full control of the tie with a devastating spell of 3 goals in 6 minutes. Mugford adding her 2nd of the game on 59 minutes to make it 4-1 quickly followed by goals for Emily Arrell and newly arrived substitute Natalie Jo Goodright to make it 6-1. Martin going on to complete her hat-trick on injury time to see Swindon advance in the competition with a 7-1 win, great for the confidence they will be hoping to take this on into the league.

FAWPL South East Division One

Just the one league game played across the 2 divisions this Sunday in South East Division One, Cambridge United WFC 7th in the table were hosting league leaders AFC Wimbledon Ladies. A battling 1st half saw AFC Wimbledon take the lead late on Rebecca Sargent with her 8th goal of the season putting them in front. Was more of the same 2nd half both sides creating chances but Cambridge weren’t able to find an equalising goal to take anything from the game as AFC Wimbledon made it 7 straight league wins to open up a 4 point lead at the top of the table.

Sad news to start this week’s Beds & Herts Round-Up, struggling for numbers at the start of the season Sandy Ladies of Beds & Herts Women’s Division One have took the hard decision to call it a day. After 14 seasons ended last season winning the nearly formed Chris Renshaw Trophy. A real shame a talented squad had the pleasure of watching them on a couple of occasions wishing everyone at the club all the best for the future and hope to see as many as possible continue in the game and hopefully one day Sandy will return to women’s football.

Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup

 Across both counties this weekend all the action was from the County Cup in Bedfordshire the 1st Round was being contested between 8 sides looking to join, Luton Town Ladies (the current cup holders), AFC Dunstable Ladies. Bedford Ladies and Sandy Ladies in the quarter finals.

  Beds & Herts Division One side Sharnbrook WFC were at home in the 1st Round taking on Division Two side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues. Hoffi Pursey scoring an early goal for Sharnbrook in the 6th minute, 2 quickfire goals from Stephanie Hettle and Charlie Mullins on the hour mark had Sharnbrook in control of the tie. Mullins adding a 2nd goal to her tally with 20 minutes left. Pursey also claiming a brace netting another goal in the 83rd minute to see Sharnbrook progress with a 5-1 win. Georgie Payne with the Woburn goal.

  An all Division One clash in the 1st Round of the Bedfordshire County Cup between Flitwick Ladies at home to Houghton Athletic Ladies on Sunday the away side getting the result to progress, Emily Wilson hitting  a brace with goals form Louise Spendelow and Holly Thomson in a 4-0 win.

  Bedford Ladies Development at home to Woburn & Wavendon Lioness Clarets was an all Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three clash in the 1st Round of the County Cup, the sides all square at the break drawing 1-1 both goals coming within a minute of each other just past the half hour mark Joanne Makin on target for Bedford, Alexandra Mitchell scoring for Woburn. The visitors going on to win the tie in the 2nd half with Lauren Revell giving Woburn the lead on the hour mark Charlotte Demmon making it 3-1 with 20 minutes left the Clarets reaching the quarter finals.

  Bed & Herts Division Three side Shefford Town & Campton Ladies were at home to Luton Town Ladies Development in the 1st Round of the County Cup a 6-0 defeat seeing them exit the competition at the weekend.

Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup

8 ties played in the 1st Round of the Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup this Sunday with Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies, Evergreen Eagles and Garston Ladies all awarded a walkover to progress into the 2nd Round.

County Cup holders Stevenage Ladies began the defence of their trophy away to Beds & Herts Division Two side Garston Ladies 2nd XI. 4 leagues between the sides Stevenage overpowering their opponents attackers Leah Littlechild and Nicole Emmings both scoring a hat-trick. Chloe Gunn getting a brace. The goals were shared out elsewhere with Amy Josland, Rebecca Scola, Ellie Searle, Kristi Burling and Dominique Godbeer all finding the back of the net in a 14-1 win.

  Stevenage Ladies Reserves side also progress in the Hertfordshire County Cup taking their fantastic league form away to Letchworth Garden City Eagles on Sunday. A brace for Emily Scofield, along with strikes from Hannah Marshall and Rebecca Brooker seeing them beat the side from Beds & Herts Division Two 4-0.

   Royston Town Ladies last season’s beaten finalists are also through to the 2nd Round of the County Cup winning away from home against Watford Ladies Development who themselves won the competition 2 seasons ago. Goals from Samantha Edgar, Hayley Graham and Abby Laughlin sealing a 3-0 victory for Royston Town.

ERWFL Division One South side Hoddesdon Town Owls Ladies won comfortably at home to progress in the County Cup on Sunday taking on Beds & Herts Division Three side, Welwyn Pegasus Azures. Kristina O’Connell netting a hat-trick in the match. Summer Muir claiming a brace with goals too for Leah Dunnage, Courtney Smart, Charlotte Grogan and Sian Owens in a 9-0 win.

  Not such good news for ERWFL Division One South side Bishops Stortford ladies as they exit the County Cup in the 1st Round knocked out by lower league opposition, short on numbers Bishops Stortford were hosting Beds & Herts Division Two side Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires. Goals from Danielle Aken, Chemise Huitson and Sophie Mandel seeing the Sapphires win the tie 3-1. Brogan McHale scoring for Bishops Stortford.

Another side causing an upset on the County Cup were Beds & Herts Division Three bottom side Potters Bar United Ladies at home on Sunday taking on Watton Ladies bottom of Division One. Goals form Charlotte Caswell and Lauren Englefield sealing a narrow 2-1 win for Potters Bar.

  Bedwell Rangers Ladies from Beds & Herts Division Three were leading Division One side Sherrardswood Ladies 1-0 at half-time in their County Cup 1st Round tie the away side scoring in the 25th minute Megan Wybrow with the goal. Sherrardswood started the 2nd half strongly, Manjinder Atwal levelling the scores on 50 minutes a quickfire spell of 3 goals putting Sherrardswood on top on 57,58 and 60 minutes, Atwal with her 2nd of the game, Laurie Marris and Francesca Novelli also on target. Bedwell Rangers threatened a comeback Holly Walker then Jessica Sullivan making it 4-3. Into the last 10 minutes of the game and Atwal struck again to complete her hat-trick then a 4th a couple of minutes later to seal a 6-3 result.

Also advancing into the 2nd Round of the Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup are Beds & Herts Division Two side Hitchin Belles winning 4-2 away from home against Bishops Stortford U18 Girls. Chloe Keller scoring a brace with Charlotte Peters and Charis Wakefield also scoring.

The draw for the 2nd Round of the Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup features 8 ties to be played Sunday 12th & 19th November.

Essex Women’s Premier Division

Two games in the Essex Women’s Premier Division and leaders Hatfield Town Ladies continued their winning start to the season recording a 4th straight league win away to Hutton Ladies Reserves to pull 3 points clear at the top of the table. A close result however Laura Allen scoring for Hutton, Hatfield Peveral edged the win 2-1 thanks to goals from Christa Osman and Donna Fletcher in the 1st half.

   Runwell Sports Ladies climb up the Premier Division table from 7th into 4th winning at home against bottom side Chigwell Ladies on Sunday. Chigwell led at half-time goals from Claire Huggins and Victoria Parker. Runwell Sports came back strongly in the 2nd half to win the game. Danielle Stace scoring the goal in the 1st half Samantha Delves levelled the scores 5 minutes into the 2nd half before going on to complete a hat-trick with Sophie Ottey adding a 5th goal for Runwell with 10 minutes left.

Essex Women’s Division One

 With the top two not in league action in Essex Women’s Division One this weekend 3rd placed Southend United Ladies took full advantage by winning their 4th straight league match at the start of the season to move level on points with Hullbridge Sports Ladies at the top. At home to Billericay Town Ladies Reserves, Southend won comfortably 6-0 with 6 different names on the score sheet too, Charlotte Anderson, Morgan Hayes, Emily Pert, Georgia Raby, Lily-Maree Halliday and Lydia Weekley.

Alresford Colne Rangers are up to 4th in the Division One table as they also scored 6 goals at home to beat local rivals FC Clacton Ladies on Sunday. Joanne Harvey on target with a hat-trick their were goals too for Jasmine Warner, Cassandra Villa and Vicky Hall didn’t have it all their own way at the other end however with FC Clacton scoring 3 goals themselves, Sadie Cullen, Amy Hartley and Charlotte Warren on the scoresheet.

  Plenty of goals in the last game to bring you from Division One too with Walden Ladies hosting Rayleigh Town Ladies. The visitors losing out in a high scoring encounter last weekend despite scoring 4, scored 3 times this Sunday and still ended up on the losing side Eleasha Reeves and a brace from Isabella Wallings. Walden’s Andi Wright scored 3 goals herself with a goal each for Kin Jeffery and Rachel Linsdell securing a 5-3 win moving Walden up into 5th place in the table.

Essex Women’s County Cup

6 ties in the 2nd Round of the Essex Women’s County Cup took place this Sunday. It was an all Harlow Town affair with the 1st team drawn against their Reserves side. A league between them the 1st team making sure they didn’t have egg on their faces come the final whistle both Lily Bruno and Tayla Handscombe scoring twice in the 1st half their were also goals for Charley Sandford and Hannah Clifford. A tighter 2nd half further goals were added but only on the final 10 minutes with both Bruno and Handscombe completing their hat-tricks in an 8-1 win.

An all ERWFL Division One South clash in the 2nd Round between Hutton Ladies at home Little Thurrock Dynamos Ladies. Another narrow result between the 2 sides with Little Thurrock Dynamos progressing to the 3rd Round thanks to a singe goal scored by Sophie Dowman.

Chelmsford City Ladies Reserves were at home to fellow Essex Women’s Division One side Dagenham & Redbridge Ladies. The league newcomers powering their way into the 3rd Round of the County Cup. Lauren Beard top scoring for Dagenham & Redbridge with 4 goals. Pauline Adeyemo grabbing a hat-trick, goals too for Daisy Cook and Sade Walters in a 9-0 win.

  Better news for Chelmsford City Ladies 1st team as they beat fellow Premier Division side Frontiers Ladies 2-1 to progress in the County Cup on Sunday. Goals from captain Gaby Freedman and Tyler Christou enough to cancel out Frontiers goal scored by Kay Foy.

  Daisy Canny was amongst the goals for Lawford Ladies once again this Sunday as the Premier Division side hosted Division One high flyers Leigh Ramblers on Sunday in the County Cup 2nd Round. Canny scoring 4 goals in the match with Keeley Brickwood and Jade Heath also on target with a goal each in a 6-2 win to progress.

Lastly Corringham Cosmos from the Essex Premier Division overcame Division One side Waltham Forest Ladies 8-0 at home to reach the 3rd Round of the County Cup. Leading 2-0 at half-time went on to score 6 more goals 2nd half. Rebecca Gallagher and Chloe Sams both scoring a hat-trick. Rachel Fleming and Nicole-Marie Mitchell also on target with a goal each.

Three ties in Round 3 of the Essex Women’s County Cup with, C&K Basildon Ladies, Billericay Town Ladies, Brentwood Town Ladies, Colchester Town Ladies & Writtle Ladies all joining the competition at the quarter final stage. 3rd Round ties to be played Sunday 19th November.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

Netherton United Ladies blistering start to the season in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship continues as they stretch their winning run at the start of the season to 5 games 6 points clear at the top of the table away to newly promoted March Town United Ladies this weekend. Alice MacNicol putting the visitors into the lead on the half hour. A narrow lead for Netherton at half-time substitute Carmen Giles making it 2-0 midway through the 2nd half to secure their 5th league win.

 Also starting the season with a 100% winning start are 2nd placed Newmarket Town Ladies 3 wins from 3 to begin their league campaign behind Netherton United on games played due to their run in the FA Women’s Cup a trip to Cambridge University Women who usually strong opponents in this league have started with 2 defeats. Newmarket continued their fine form with no less than 4 players scoring a brace on Sunday, Abbie Marshall, Brooke Wickens, Hollie Turner and Sarah O’Rourke. Laura Bailey and Lauren Deller also grabbing themselves a goal in a 10-1 win.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

Wisbech Town Ladies strong start to the season in the Championship North was brought to an end on Sunday away to local rivals Wisbech St Mary Ladies a battling contest between the 2 sides it was a narrow 2-1 results of Wisbech St Mary an own goal along with a goal for Carlie Knight seeing the 3 points won Wisbech St Mary making it 2 league wins from 2 in 4th games in hand on the 3 sides above.

 With Wisbech Town Ladies losing at the weekend Ketton Ladies level on points in 2nd took advantage with a good away win against Spalding United Ladies to move 3 points clear at the top of the table with their 4th win of the season. 4 goals for Fran Kavanagh as well as a goal each for Claire Lawrenson and Emma Ward sealing a 6-1 win. Kate Amess scoring the goal for Spalding United Ladies. 

A late start to the season for Swineshead Institute Ladies who have been searching for new players to bolster their squad. Fielding a side this weekend started their campaign at home to 3rd placed Hungate Rovers Ladies. Ewelina Jerzak and Bianca Towler scoring for the visitors, Swineshead responded with 2 goals of their own to see the points shared.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

2 games played in the Championship South this Sunday with the top 4 all in action. Leaders Histon Ladies Reserves 3 points clear of 2nd placed Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds with with both sides starting the season with 100% records a chance for Fulbourn hosting to end Histon’s record and move level on points likewise Histon could move 6 points clear at the top with a 4th straight league win. Histon held a narrow lead at the break 1-0. Were made to work for the win 2nd half as Fulbourn scored twice their goalscorers Emma Clark and Yasmin Upson. Histon though hit 3 more goals in the 2nd period to win the game 4-2 with both Kirsty Lemmon-Sparks and Philippa Hayden-Evans netting twice.

3rd v 4th with Isleham United Ladies at home to Cambridge Rangers Women on Sunday both on 3 points, shared the points in the end drawing 2-2, Nicole Bailey and Jade Flack on target for Isleham. Cambridge Rangers goals an own goal plus a strike from Cornelia Buettner. Into mid October and Milton Ladies and St Ives Town Ladies Development yet to kick off in the league.

Norfolk Women’s Division One

 

A hat-trick for Victoria Leyer on Sunday

2 league games played in Norfolk Women’s Division One this Sunday and plenty of goals on both. It was a top of the table clash at Blue Boar Lane with Sprowston Ladies joint leaders hosting North Walsham Angels Ladies. Both on 7 points along with Stalham Town Ladies in 3rd spot. 2 wins and a draw each it was advantage Sprowston 1st half leading 2-0 going on to score twice more 2nd half North Walsham too responding with 2 goals 2nd half from Hannah Sturman and Hope Middleton not enough as they lose for the 1st time this season Sprowston move 3 points clear at the top of the table thanks to a goal from Thea Hackney and a hat-trick for Victoria Leyer (pictured).

In the other game played at Emerald Park in Division One this Sunday Gorleston FC Ladies looked to be heading for their 1st win in the league as they led Bungay Town Ladies 3-1 at the break thanks to goals from Millie Brooks, Leanne Muffett and Bethany Turner. Bungay Town came back in the 2nd half to win the game 4-3 however. Emily Leach adding to Becky Hills 1st half goal. Hills added her 2nd of the game to level it up at 3-3 with Selina Rowland going on to score what would be the winning goal moving Bungay onto 6 points in 6th place behind 4th & 5th placed Wymondham Town Ladies Reserves & Thorpe United all 3 with games in hand on the sides above.

Norfolk Women’s County Cup

County Cup fixtures played right across the region this weekend with plenty of 1st & 2nd Round ties taking place. Just the one in Norfolk however but it was a huge game as the draw had paired last season’s finalists together in the 1st Round of this season’s competition. Wymondham Town Ladies at home to Thorpe United Ladies who emerged victorious to claim the trophy for the 2nd successive year. Wymondham Town Ladies reaching their 1st ever County Cup final last season by their own admission didn’t turn up on the night for whatever reason had the feeling this time around they wanted to make amends and looking good in both the league and the FA Women’s Cup took that form into this Sunday’s cup game. Division One Champions, Thorpe United never easy to beat however, goals from Mollie O’Callaghan along with a brace for striker Laura Wiseman seeing Wymondham progress to the 2nd Round.

The draw for the 2nd Round of the Women’s County Cup made by Norfolk FA on Monday see’s 7 ties to be played on Sunday 19th November.

ERWFL Premier Division

A 6th straight league win in the ERWFL Premier Division keeps Writtle Ladies top of the table ahead of Essex counterparts Billericay Town Ladies who also maintain their 100% winning start to the season both sides opening up a 6 point gap on 3rd placed Acle United Ladies who saw their league game postponed this weekend.

  Writtle Ladies were on home soil taking on bottom side Colchester Town Ladies. Writtle’s good form continuing as they rattled in the goals to help improve their goal difference. Courtney Clarke scoring 4 goals on the day. There were goals to for captain Abigail Fry, Ellie Bowdidge, Lynsey Bowman and Amy Simmons an own goal seeing Writtle win 9-1 to take the 3 points. Millie Wilding on the scoresheet for Colchester who remain without a point after 7 played.

 Billericay Town Ladies saw their lead in the ERWFL Premier Division take on by Writtle Ladies last weekend after they were involved in the FA Women’s Cup. Exiting the competition they bounced back with a 6th straight league win away to local rivals Brentwood Town Ladies this Sunday. A brace fro Paris Smith along with goals for captain Lindsey Morgan and Courtney Lumley seeing them take home the 3 points with a 4-1 win. Angela Arnold scoring the goal for Brentwood. 

Cambridge City Ladies move up the ERWFL Premier Division from 7th to 4th spot after the weekends results. A 2nd successive 2-1 league win at home this time against Bedford Ladies on Sunday who themselves have no lost 3 successive league games to drop to 7th place. Michelle Byrne on target for Bedford goals from captain Becca fay and Charlotte Gillies securing the 3 points for Cambridge City.

 Having climbed to 4th in the ERWFL Premier Division table themselves Colney Heath Ladies were at home on Sunday taking on AFC Dunstable Ladies in 10th place the visitors having an indifferent start to the season looking for a 2nd league win getting it with a 2-0 win goals from Danielle Carty and Charlotte Moreton seeing them get it and jump 5 place in the process moving above Colney Heath Ladies on goal difference into 5th spot. The middle of the table very close will anyone get a run of form going to challenge the leading pair?

ERWFL Division One North

3 games played in the ERWFL Division One North this weekend and the battle at the top remains a hotly contested one with all of the top 3 winning. King’s Lynn Town Ladies remain at the top with a 3-1 win at home to Ipswich Town Ladies Development who had won their previous 2 league fixtures. A goal for Becky Russell along with a brace from striker Tiffany Forshaw claim the 3 points to keep them a point clear of 2nd placed Ipswich Wanderers Ladies.

Ipswich Wanderers won for the 4th time this season in the league at home to bottom side Silver End United Ladies. A brace for Ipswich Wanderers captain, Tanya McKew along with goals for Lisa Nagib and Jess Taylor-Allum helping them to a 5-0 win. Have played more games than table toppers King’s Lynn and 3rd placed Histon Ladies but have proven already this season they can take points off anybody.

  Histon Ladies move onto 13 points winning for the 4th time in the league this season undefeated in 5 played were away to local rivals Cambridge United WFC Reserves this Sunday looking to beat them for the 2nd time this season after a 4-0 win on the opening day of the season. Histon got off to a great start leading inside the opening 3 minutes Charlotte Westrope running through to score. Sophie Hopkin doubling Histon’s lead in the 23rd minute. A 2-0 lead at half-time Cambridge United WFC pulled a goal back almost immediately in the 2nd half a penalty awarded in the 47th minute was dispatched by striker Ebony Rule. 2-1 in remained for all of the 2nd half only in injury time did Histon secure the win Katie Seagrave on her debut finding the back of the net.

FAWPL Southern Division

One game in the FAWPL Southern Division this Sunday and West Ham United Ladies were on a high coming off the back of a sensational win at The Valley in midweek ending leaders Charlton Athletic Women’s perfect start to the season 8 straight wins to start the season West Ham United winning 3-1 coming off the back of a 5-0 win against Swindon Town the previous Sunday. Taking on Coventry United Ladies this Sunday another side building some momentum in the league after a poor start by their standards. It was the visiting side who opening the scoring Alison Hall putting the ball into the back of the net in the 20th minute. West Ham responded to level the scores before half-time Andreya Ezekie-Meade making it 1-1 in the 36th minute. West Ham continued to create chances 2nd half, so to did Coventry finding the winning goal in the 70th minute of the match Hall with her 2nd of the game sealing the 3 points and moving Coventry into the top half of the table.

FAWPL South East Division One

 A real title contest shaping up in FAWPL South East Division One after the results in midweek AFC Wimbledon Ladies topped the table but their are just 2 points between them and 4th placed Milton Keynes Dons Ladies. Ipswich Town Ladies and Leyton Orient WFC in between. Leyton Orient WFC on a run of 5 straight league wins were once again playing at The Matchroom Stadium this Sunday hosting Actonians Ladies in 6th looking to make ground on the leading quartet. Both sides scoring plenty of goals this season so far it was no surprise they both found the goals again this time around a 7 goal thriller between the sides. Actonians Ladies beating Leyton Orient 5-1 in the reverse fixture at the start of the season. The scores tied at 1-1 at half-time it was an exciting contest 2nd half. Chloe McNee scoring for Leyton Orient in the 1st half two quickfire goals from Sophie Le Marchand on 67 and newly introduced Sarka Stryhalova on 70 saw the home side score 3. Actonians edged the result to do the double over Leyton Orient winning 4-3 thanks to goals from Claire Hollingsworth, Jessica Byrne and a brace for Alessandra Barreca.

   Milton Keynes Dons Ladies were away to Denham United Ladies in the league this Sunday in a rich vein of form winning their last 5 league games the latest 2-0 away to Cambridge United WFC in midweek. Denham United Ladies held the lead at half-time 1-0 up thanks to a goal from Alissa Down scoring from a free-kick in the 17th minute. Held onto the lead as the game approached the final quarter hour Milton Keynes Dons levelling the score Alice Hughes netting to make it 1-1 the points shared between the sides who meet again this Sunday in the League Plate. The point enough to lift Milton Keynes Dons up into 2nd.

FAWPL Cup

4 ties played this weekend in the FAWPL Cup 1st Round it was a top of the tables clash between Charlton Athletic Women of the Southern Division hosting South East Division One leaders AFC Wimbledon Ladies at Thamesmead. An exciting game between the sides with a dramatic finish. Rebecca Sargent getting Wimbledon off to a great start putting them 1-0 inside the opening 5 minutes. Charlotte Lee getting Charlton back on level terms on the half hour. 1-1 the scores at half-time Lee scored again in the 61st minute to put Charlton 2-1 up looked to be heading for the win deep into injury time 90+7 and Wimbledon levelled it at 2-2 Katie Stanley scoring, time left for another goal just when Wimbledon thought they’d forced extra-time Charlton went straight up the other end to score win the game 3-2 Charlotte Gurr getting the goal to send them through.

Crystal Palace Ladies and Lewes FC Women met for the 3rd time this season, currently 3rd and 2nd in the Southern Division table have beaten each other in their respective league games before this Sunday’s FAWPL Cup 1st Round tie both in good form it was Lewes FC Women who had the best of the 1st half goals from Amy Taylor on 14 minutes and Avilla Bergin on 32 giving them a 2-0 lead at the break. Crystal Palace pulling it back to 2-1 on 58 minutes Gemma Bryan with the goal Lewes defended well to win through to the next round.

 A South Coast derby in the FAWPL Cup 1st Round between Southampton Women at home to Portsmouth FC Ladies. The Southern Division side taking the lead in the 13th minute Gemma Hillier scoring, Shannon Albuery also finding the back of the net in the 24th minute to make it 2-0 at the break for the visitors. Laura Vokes got it back to 2-1 early in the 2nd half for Southampton before Natasha Stephens scored for Portsmouth to restore their 2 goal cushion and see them through to the next round of the competition.

The last of the FAWPL Cup 1st Round ties featuring sides from this region was an all South East Division One clash the A10 derby between Enfield Town Ladies and Cambridge United WFC. 2 goals in the 1st half won it for Cambridge United WFC. A rare goal for midfielder Laura Baker along with a goal from striker Kelley Blanchflower securing the victory.

FAWPL Plate

One 1st Round tie from the FAWPL Plate this weekend an all South East Division One clash between the bottom two in the league with Haringey Borough Women travelling up to Norfolk for the 2nd time this season to face Norwich City Ladies. In their league encounter Norwich ran out 7-0 winners to claim their only league win of the season. Were dominant once again Natasha Snelling opening the scoring on 13 minutes to give Norwich the lead. Charlotte Broad on the half hour making it 2-0. Aimee Durrant extending Norwich’s lead 10 minutes into the 2nd half adding another with 5 minutes left to play. Laura Thacker sealing a 5-0 victory with the final kick of the game deep into injury time to send Norwich into the 2nd Round. Haringey ending the game with 10, Naomi Graham sent off.

 One match played in the Beds & Herts Women’s Division One this Sunday and with leaders St Albans Ladies involved in the 1st Round of the League Cup, 2nd placed Northwood Ladies took full advantage winning the 3 points to go top of the table. Were at home to 3rd placed Sharnbrook WFC. Northwood got off to a great start Emma Steele opening the scorning inside the opening 5 minutes. Yvonne Macalonan then added 2 more goals on 13 and 20 minutes to put 3-0. With 10 minutes of the 1st half left Claire Cranfield made it 4-0. Sharnbrook pulled one goal back a minute later Charlie Mullins scoring. 4-1 the lead at half-time Sharnbrook battled hard to get back into the game Mullins scoring her 50th goal for the club halving the deficit 8 minutes into the 2nd half. Hoffi Pursey scored with 5 minutes left to make it 4-3 setting up a tense finish however Northwood held on for the win 10 points from their opening 4 league games.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

A 2nd league win of the season moves Royston Town Ladies Reserves up to 2nd in the Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two table level on points with leaders Garston Ladies 2nd XI. Away to Evergreen Eagles on Sunday a hat-trick for Harriet Smith along with a goal for Aimee Holden sealing a 4-1 victory. Samantha Takis with the goal for Evergreen Eagles.

   Both Hitchin Belles and Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires could have gone top of the Division Two table with the 3 points had they claimed victory on Sunday as it was they had to settle for a share of the points in a high scoring draw. A 2-1 half-time lead for home side Hitchin Belles the scoreline was reversed 2nd half to see the sides draw 3-3. Amy Jack, Shannon Page and Emma Wells scoring the goals for Hitchin Belles. Sophie Mandel along with a brace for Danielle Aken the goalscorers for Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Four matches played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this weekend, Welwyn Pegasus Azures claiming a 4th straight league win to open the season to take them 5 points clear at the top of the table. At home to another 100% winning side Shefford Town & Campton Ladies the Azures came out on top in a high scoring match a 3-2 lead at half-time thanks to a 1st half hat-trick for Janiece Allen adding a 4th goal early in the 2nd half Fiona Davies and Anja Fletchman Brown also scoring late in the 2nd half to secure a 6-3 win. Shefford Town’s goals scored by Michelle Smith getting a brace along with an own goal.

Bedford Ladies Development drop points for the 1st time this season after being held to a draw away to Evergreen Ladies on Sunday. Paige Abraham giving Bedford a 10th minute lead. Evergreen equalising through Samantha Jackson.

  Wheathamstead Wanderers Ladies made it 2 wins from 2 in the league to climb up to 4th in the Division Three table with an away win on Sunday against Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Clarets. A narrow 2-1 win a brace from Sophia Pidgeon cancelling out an own goal scored at the other end.

  Bedwell Rangers Ladies move off the bottom of the Division Three table after they claimed their 1st win of the season this weekend after losing their previous 3 opening league games away to Potters Bar United Ladies also without a win this season. Goals from Charlotte Crosbie-Smith and Hannah Manton along with a hat-trick for Jessica Sullivan seeing Bedwell celebrate a 5-1 win.

Beds & Herts Women’s League Cup

Two fixtures from the 1st Round of the Beds & Herts Women’s League Cup played this Sunday and all Division One clash between St Albans Town Ladies at home to Sherrardswood Ladies. 27 goals from their opening 3 league matches including an 8-1 win at home to Sherrardswood, St Albans continued their hot scoring streak into the League Cup 4-0 up inside the opening 15 minutes, Suzanne Read claiming a hat-trick, Michaela Johnson also getting a goal. Chloe Reeves making it 5-0 before half-time. Read added a 4th goal to her name 5 minutes into the 2nd half then Kiran Reyat made it 7-0 10 minutes into the 2nd half before Francesca Novelli pulled a goal back for Sherrardswood. Eleanor Lovelock scored on 66 to extend St Albans lead Johnson with her 2nd of the game and a goal for Nicola Dark securing a 10-1 win.

Also progressing in the League Cup are Division Two leaders Garston Ladies 2nd XI after they secured a 4-2 home win against fellow Division Two side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues. Lauren Berryman scoring twice for Garston their were goal too for Charlotte Dormer and Charley Kelsey. Amy Gibbons and Georgia Payne scoring for Woburn & Wavendon.

Two matches played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership this Sunday and a big win at home for Netherton United Ladies saw them keep up their 100% winning start to the season. Taking on Cambridge University Women at The Grange. A 28th minute penalty scored by Yasmin Green saw the home side hold a narrow 1st half lead. The 2nd half a different story Netherton United going on to score 6 goals to take the 3 points with a 7-0 win to make it 4 wins from 4, Emily Johnson and Georgina Parrett both with a brace, Megan Parrett and Jenna Nairn with a goal a piece.

It was a 7-0 win too for St Ives Town Ladies away from home at the weekend playing March Town United Ladies. Two goals for both Tierney Coulson and Georgia Stancombe along with goals for Amy Seymour-Shove and Connie Liddiard plus an own goals securing their 2nd win of the season the result moving them into 2nd in the Premiership table.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

There were also two matches played in the Championship North this weekend and a big win at home for Ketton Ladies saw them move level on points with Wisbech Town Ladies at the top of the table. Need goals too if anyone is going to eat into Wisbech Town’s already formidable goal difference. Taking on bottom side Pinchbeck United Ladies, Fran Kavanagh top scored for Ketton netting 8 goals. Claire Lawrenson scoring a hat-trick as did Emma Ward. Estelle Bonnamour, Catie Martin and Lauren McKeever also getting a goal each in a 17-0 win.

Hungate Rovers Ladies won for the 2nd time this season to climb up to 3rd in the Championship North table this Sunday at home were playing Spalding United Ladies. Goals from Katie Ingram, Kelsey McKenna, Ewelina Jerzak and Laura Punter securing the 3 points with a 4-2 result. Hannah Dennis and Emily Price scoring the goals for Spalding.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

 Two matches played in the Championship South this Sunday. 3 wins from 3 to start the season see Histon Ladies Reserves open up a 3 point lead at the top of the early table. A big win away to Cambridge Rangers. Kirsty Lemmon-Sparks adding another 4 goals to her tally. A brace each for Philippa Hayden-Evans and Heather Cousins with Amanda Binge also grabbing a goal in a 9-0 win.

  Isleham United Ladies pick up their 1st league win of the season in their 3rd attempt away to new side Burwell Tigers. Lily Turner scoring a hat-trick there were also goals for Amy Ellis, Anita Butters and Amy Griffin in a 6-1 win the 3 points lifting Isleham United all the way up to 3rd in the table.
