Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup

This weekend saw 4 ties in this season’s Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup taking place with the other ties involving sides in the FA Women’s Cup taking place this coming Sunday. 8 ties in the 2nd Round with the sides competing for a place in the quarter-finals of the competition. Already through were Stevenage Ladies Reserves awarded an away win with Evergreen Ladies not contesting the tie. 

Big wins for all of the sides winning through to the quarter-finals this Sunday. ERWFL Premier Division side Royston Town Ladies were at home taking on Beds & Herts Division One side St Albans Ladies. Despite a 2 league gap between the sides St Albans Ladies competed well with Royston Town 1st half plenty of goals scored Royston Town leading 5-3 at half-time. A differnet tail 2nd half with the ERWFL Premier Division going on to dominate and rack up a double figure winning scoreline beating St Albans 12-4 to reach the quarter-finals. Georgia Gannaway, Stephanie Hicks and Samantha Tinsley amongst the goals all netting a hat-trick. St Albans goalscorers, Suzanne Read with 2, 1 for Ellie Lovelock and Kayla Johnson scoring from the penalty spot. 

Beds & Herts Division Two side Watton Ladies also racked up a double figure winning score to progress into the quarter-finals of the Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup. At home playing Watford Ladies U17/U18s Wasps, Chloe Jones putting the ball into the back of the net for 4 goals with Emma Carter and Gemma Penny both scoring twice, Beth Willing, Kirsty Richardson and Samantha Edgar all adding a goal as Watton Ladies ran out 11-2 winners.

bb-stanley Not quite double figures for Bishops Stortford Ladies as they reach the quarter-finals with an away win over Potters Bar United Ladies from Division Three. Kathryn Stanley (pictured) scored 5 goals in the match with teammates Hannah Mead and Yasmin Smith both scoring a brace. Janiece Allen with a consolation goal for Potters Bar United in the 2nd half.

  An all Beds & Herts Division Three clash in the other 2nd Round tie happening at the weekend as Hatfield Town Ladies hosted league leaders Evergreen Eagles. The visitors unbeaten in the league taking that form into the County Cup, Samantha Takis scoring 4 times with Samantha Feeney adding another goal in a 5-0 win to see Evergreen Eagles into the quarter-finals.

Will bring the results from the 3 remaining 2nd Round ties, Watford Ladies u17s Hornets v Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies, Garston Ladies v Watford Ladies U19s Development (holders) & Stevenage Ladies v Colney Heath Ladies in next weeks Round-Up so long as the weather behaves.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

Sandy Ladies top of Beds & Herts Women’s Division One saw their 100% winning start to the season come to an end on Sunday 5 wins in a row to start the season. Were at home hosting 3rd placed Sherrardswood Ladies who Sandy Ladies beat 5-0 in the reverse fixture on the opening day of the season. Since then Sherrardswood have gone on to win all three of their league matches played since to move up to 3rd. Scored 5 against Sandy this time around Laurie Marris scoring 4 times once in the 1st half 3 in the 2nd with Manjinder Atwal also scoring a goal in the 1st half. Sandy Ladies scoring 1 goal in reply Amber Williams on target slip to their 1st league defeat of the season 3 points clear at the top still as Sherrardswood move into 2nd place.

Garston Ladies also move up a place in Division One up to 4th in the table with their 2nd successive home win in the league, hosting Hitchin Town Ladies on Sunday won the game 2-1 courtesy of goals from Vikki Duffy and Jane Hales. Sherrie Evans scoring for Hitchin Town Ladies

Playing their 6th league game of the season Houghton Athletic Ladies record so far reads WDLLD added another W to that at the weekend to move up to 5th in the table at home to bottom side Letchworth Garden City Eagles on Sunday got their 2nd league win of the season thanks to a brace from Shakeela Hussain, plus a goal each for Emma Hawkins and Louise Spendlow.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

Flitwick Ladies went top of Beds & Herts Division Two last Sunday beating leaders garston Ladeis FC 96 2-0 away from home. Extended their lead at the top this Sunday with a win at home against bottom side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Clarets. Kierra Gabriel with 2 goals. Charlotte Peel and Laura Scott also netting goals to see Flitwick win 4-0.

That defeat to Flitwick last Sunday saw Garston Ladies FC 96 lose their unbeaten start to the league. Overhauled at the top dropping to 2nd are down to 3rd after being beaten for the 2nd successive weekend at home to 3rd placed Panshanger Ladies who continue to improve as they compete at a higher level since being promoted this season. Away from home Panshanger fond themselves a goal down early on Jade Roberts putting Garston 1-0 up early in the 1st half. Sophie Whitman got the goal to level the scores up on 14 minutes for Panshanger, Kerry Twigg giving them a 2-1 lead in 1st half injury time. Chemise Huitson extending the visitors lead 5 minutes into the 2nd half. Ellie Burke scoring to make it 4-1 before Huitson went on to score her 12th & 13th goal of the season to complete her hat-trick and see Panshanger come away with all 3 points and climb the table.

Beds  Herts Women’s Division Three

Been a trend of recent weeks to bring some bad news on The Round-Up and sadly I have to report the withdrawal of another side from the league with Bedwell Rangers Ladies team no longer listed in the table. I hate seeing the loss of a club but hope everyone involved with Bedwell stays in the game and wish all the best for the future. Still retain a strong youth section so the development of girls football will carry on and continue to benefit the game as a whole.

On to the league itself and with leaders Evergreen Eagles involved in the Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup it was an opportunity for 2nd placed Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues to move into the lead themselves both sides with a 100% winning start to the season Woburn with a game in hand 3 from 3 made it 4 from 4 with a hone victory against Crawley Green Ladies. Was a hotly fought contest Crawley Green going 1 up in the 11th minute, Nina Service with the goal. Woburn pulling it back to 1-1 before half-time. Took the lead early in the 2nd half, Service pulling it back to 2-2 with her 2nd of the game. 2 goals inside 3 minutes saw Woburn go 4-2 in front Kirsty Morley getting a goal back for Crawley Green, Woburn went on to win the game 5-3 to go top on goal difference their goals scored by Amy Gibbins, Molly Hughes, Georgia Payne plus 2 from Lauren Stewart.

Wheathamsted Ladies new to the league this season hadn’t started well bottom of the table with 3 straight defeats now find themselves in the lofty heights of 5th place after recording their 1st ever league win away to Shefford Town & Campton Ladies on Sunday. After a goalless 1st half between the sides, Maria Dennehy put Wheathamsted in front 10 minutes into the 2nd half. Sophia Pidgeon adding 2 goals on 61 and 73 minutes to secure a 3-0 and the clubs 1st ever 3 points.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

A meeting between the top two in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership on Sunday with leaders Newmarket Town Ladies travelling to Cambridge United WFC Reserves defending a 100% winning start to the season the only one left in the league. Two goals for Lucy Gateson her 1st for the club giving Cambridge United WFC Reserves a 2-0 lead in the match, Newmarket Town pulling a goal back in the last 5 minutes Nadine Basson on target as they lost for the 1st time in the league this season going down 2-1, fall to 2nd spot on goal difference with Cambridge United WFC Reserves returning to the top of the table.

  4th placed Bar Hill Ladies, join 3rd placed St Ives Town Ladies on 9 points in the Premiership with an away win against ICA Sports Ladies on Sunday. The away side edging the result winning 3-2. Carmen Herridge and Rhian Leonard both scoring for ICA Sports Ladies wasn’t enough to take anything from the game Bar Hill Ladies winning with strikes from Hollie Dare, Lucy Goddard and Naomi Ingarfield.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

Wth the leading duo not in action in the Championship North at the weekend it was a chance for 3rd placed Swineshead Institute Ladies to continue their fine start to the season and capitalise by getting the result and home to Boston United Ladies. Grabbed it with both hands winning big to climb into 2nd place in the table above Wisbech St Mary Ladies and 2 points behind leaders March Town United Ladies. Ellie Spendlow scoring 4 goals in the game with Chloe Gray getting herself a hat-trick. 2 goals for Kirsty Hewitt with a goal a piece for Gabrielle Smith and Leah Ardron seeing Swineshead win the game 11-2 keep up their unbeaten start to the season.

A big win too at the weekend for Wisbech Town Ladies travelling to bottom side Thurlby Tigers close the gap on the sides above them with a 8-0 victory. Sophie Gutteridge scoring a hat-trick, Jemma Adams and Kyra Clarke both scoring twice with Emily Stephenson also on target putting the ball into the back of the net. 

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

Three games in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South on Sunday and with runaway leaders Cambridge City Ladies Development not in action it was a chance for those chasing to close the gap. 2nd placed Milton Ladies unbeaten have played half as many games as the leaders the gap 9 points but with 3 games in hand narrowed it by 3 points at home at the weekend taking on Fulbourn Bluebirds. Kirsty Lemmon-Sparkes is in hot goal scoring form at the start of the season too for Milton taking her tally to 15 from 4 games played scoring a hat-trick on Sunday with Dora Dixon also on target in a 4-1 win.

Newmarket Town Ladies Reserves in 4th place in the Championship South were away to Cambridge Rangers on Sunday won all 3 points to climb a place into 3rd going level on points with Isleham United Ladies, 9 each a superior goal difference helped by Sunday’s result winning 6-1, Hollie Turner scoring 2 goals for Newmarket Town with Janette Mendoza, Danni Youngs, Dominika Szary and Kate Winnewisser all putting the ball into the back of the net.

  Riverside Rovers Reserves got their 1st league win of the season last time out, now make it 2 from 2 to move onto 6 points in 5th place in the Championship South table with a home win against St Ives Rangers Ladies. Georgie Elsom bagging herself a hat-trick for Riverside with a goal each for Helga Mansilhas, Zoe Lenton and Jess Hill in a 6-2 win. Ellie Chapman and Emilee Steele scoring for St Ives Rangers Ladies.

Norfolk Ladies League Cup

In Norfolk this Sunday it was the 2nd Round of the Norfolk Ladies League Cup, 8 ties scheduled to be played, competing for a place in the quarter-finals of the competition. Division Three side, East Coast Ladies progress into the quarter-finals following the withdrawal of opponent Red Rose United. The 2nd Round tie between Stalham Town Ladies & Toftwood Ladies fell foul of the weather and will be played at a later date.

  That left 6 ties that saw a result on the pitch, a couple of all Division One ties one of which saw the cup holders bow out of the competition. Aylsham FC Ladies were drawn away to Brandon Town Ladies the home side holding a narrow lead at half-time Brooke Wickens scoring from the penalty spot late in the half. Brandon Town went on to score 4 further goals in the 2nd half with Wickens netting 2 more for her hat-trick, Frankie Torrance and Chloe Slater with the other goals in a 5-0 victory.

 A brace each for captain Rebekah Lake and Shanice Sutton plus a goal from Alice Ford saw Division One leaders, Thorpe United Ladies into the quarter-finals of the Ladies League Cup beating fellow Division One side, Kings Lynn Town Ladies away from home on Sunday winning the match 5-1, Emma Corbyn scoring for Kings Lynn Town.

Bungay Town Ladies from Division One are also through to the quarter-finals beating Division Two side Bohemians Ladies 5-0 away from home on Sunday. Two goals each for Lauren Purling and Michelle Stanborough along with a goal for Emily Leach seeing them to the win.

  North Walsham Angels Ladies 2nd in Norfolk Women’s Division One advance to the quarter-finals of the Ladies League Cup with a comfortable home win against Division Three side, Tavern Ladies. Hope Middleton taking her goals tally for the season into double figures finding the back of the net for 4 goals, sister Luci added 2 more goals to her goals scored figures 4 ahead of her younger sister on 15. Alicia Lacey also scoring a brace in an 8-2 win. Rianna Scott with both goals for Tavern Ladies.

  A difficult start to the new season for Kirkley & Pakefield FC Ladies newly promoted to Division One without a win yet this season had something to celebrate at the weekend playing at home to Division Three side Cromer Town Ladies. Move into the quarter-finals of the Ladies League Cup with a big win, Selina Rowland netting 4 goals. With Sue-Lyn King, Felicity Levett and goalkeeper, Shauna Brunton-O’Neill all listed on the scoresheet in an 8-0 win.

 The last 2nd Round tie to bring you features an all Division Two clash with Briston Wanderers Ladies at home to league leaders, Gorleston FC Ladies. The visitors holding a narrow 2-1 lead at half-time went on to score 3 more goals 2nd half to win the game 5-1 to advance into the quarter-finals. Stacey High with the 1st half goal for Briston Wanderers. Bethany Turner scoring 4 goals for Gorleston, with Kayleigh Byrne also scoring a goal, on her birthday.

Suffolk Women’s Division – Sunday 13th November

3rd placed Brantham Athletic Ladies join Ipswich Town Ladies Development and leaders Walsham Le Willows Ladies on 12 points at the top of the table winning away from home at the weekend taking advantage of both not playing. Taking on Leiston St Margarets Ladies, Kirsten Hutchings scored a hat-trick with Danielle Harvey also putting the ball into the back of the net as Brantham won the match 4-2. Sarah Cooper and Jessica Coxage scoring the goal for Leiston St Margarets.

 East Bergholt United move up a place into 4th in the table moving onto 6 points with 2 games in hand on both Brantham Athletic Ladies and Ipswich Town Ladies Development. Away from home too at the weekend were playing bottom side Ipswich Phoenix Ladies. Jessica Oxlade and Jodie Sharp both scoring 2 goals each with Jessica Clark also getting her name on the scoresheet in a 5-0 win.

ERWFL Premier Division

 Both Bedford Ladies and Haringey Borough Women have set a blistering pace at the top of the ERWFL Premier Division at the start of the season, but have stumbled recently dropping points giving hope to the chasing sides below. Bedford had lost their previous 2 league games headed to Histon Ladies this Sunday avoided a 3rd straight league defeat picking up a point on the road a good result for Histon who scored through Abigail Davies. Michelle Byrne Bedford Ladies goalscorer the league leaders staying 2 points clear at the top.

billericay-piggottBedford were beaten by Billericay Town Ladies last Sunday on home soil last weekend, now Billericay travelled to 2nd placed Haringey Borough Women and continued their fine form with another win to lift them up to 6th in the table beating Haringey who scored 2 goals with Klesha Darroux and Sanice Nourrice on target. Wasn’t to be enough with Billericay Town hitting the back of the net 3 times to take all 3 points. The goals coming from captain, Lindsey Morgan, Hayley Piggott (pictured) and Rosi Webb. The side benefiting from the 2 results above 3rd place AFC Dunstable Ladies who were involved in the FA Women’s Cup at the weekend on 20 points a point of 2nd placed Haringey 3 behind Bedford.

Writtle Ladies are adjusting to life in the ERWFL Premier Division well, promoted last season lost 5 of their opening 6 fixtures but have since gone on to win 4 from 4 in the league to see then move up into 4th place in the Premier Division table. Their latest win coming at home to Colchester Town Ladies on Sunday scoring a goal in either half to win the game 2-0, Courtney Clarke and Sophie Vale putting the ball into the back of the net.

ERWFL Division One

With ERWFL Division One leaders, Cambridge City Ladies involved in the FA Women’s Cup at the weekend it was an opportunity for both 2nd placed Offley & Stopsley Ladies and 3rd placed Wymondham Town Ladies to try and close the gap at the top as the 2 sides met at Kings Head Meadow on Sunday. Wymondham Town Ladies home ground, they got off to a fantastic start Laura Wiseman with her 12th goal of the season putting them into the lead. Offley & Stopsley finding a reply Rachael Lewis netting the equalising goal to see the game end with the points shared 1-1.

 Silver End United Ladies climb up to 4th spot in the ERWFL Division One table after an away win against bottom side Hoddesdon Town Ladies at the weekend a single goal winning the game for the Essex side put into the back of the net by Jodie Osborne in the 1st half. 10 points from their last 4 league matches for Silver End United. 

Colney Heath Ladies returned to winning ways at the weekend after 2 defeats in league and cup with an away win against Hutton Ladies. Adrienne Milton giving Colney Heath the lead in the 1st half, Ebony Moore pegging it back to 1-1 for Hutton before half-time. Milton going on to find the back of the net again in the 2nd half to win the game for Colney Heath to move level on points with Hutton in mid-table. The game between Ipswich Wanderers Ladies & Little Thurrock Dynamos Ladies was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

FAWPL – Sunday 13th November

FAWPL Southern Division 

 Is tight at the top of the FAWPL Southern Division with just 2 points separating the top 4 sides, 3 of which are still unbeaten going into the weekend. Coventry United Ladies held the advantage on goal difference topping the table, by the end of the day would find themselves in 4th place. At home in a top of the table clash taking on 2nd placed Tottenham Hotspur Ladies having only conceded 8 goals between them so far this season it wasn’t likely either side were going to runaway with the result. A single goal enough to win all 3 points and it was Tottenham who got them Renee Hector up from the back for a corner heading the ball into the back of the net in the 1st half to seal the win. 

Despite the win Tottenham stay in 2nd spot in the FAWPL Southern Division table albeit level on points with the new leaders, Cardiff City Ladies who go top for the 1st time this season after a 4-0 away win against West Ham United Ladies on Sunday. A brace from Kerry Bartlett with Chloe Lloyd and Laura Williams on target seeing Cardiff City lead the way.

kit-graham   Charlton Athletic Women climb up a place into 3rd in the FAWPL Southern Division winning at home on Sunday against bottom side Queens Park Rangers Ladies. Were made to work for the 3 points QPR holding them to 0-0 at half-time it wasn’t until 20 minutes into the 2nd half Charlton finally broke them down, Jenny Newman netting the opening goal of the game. The 3 points secured in injury time, Kit Graham (pictured) scoring her 16th goal of the season to date.

A 3rd minute goal from Rebecca Carter scoring from a corner gave Lewes Ladies the lead at home to Crystal Palace Ladies on Sunday. The visitors pulling the scores level on 20 minutes Roschelle Shakes with the goal. Crystal Palace were to fall behind again conceding from another corner 5 minutes later Leeta Rutherford scoring the goal for Lewes to see them lead at half-time. 14 minutes into the 2nd half Crystal Palace pulled the scores level at 2-2, Lilli Maple scoring her 1st goal for the club. Lewes saw Tammy Waine red carded on 69 minutes, but despite the player advantage Crystal Palace couldn’t find a winning goal the points shared in a 2-2 draw.

 A comfortable 1st half for Portsmouth FC Ladies saw them to victory on Sunday at home to Swindon Town Ladies. Sarah Kempson with 2 quickfire goals on 19 and 20 minutes putting them into the lead, Gemma Hillier netting for their 3rd on the half hour mark. Kempson completing her hat-trick in 1st half injury time. Swindon tightened thing’s up 2nd half eventually conceding a 5th 5 minutes from time Hillier with her 2nd of the match seeing caretaker manager Jay Sadler start with a win.

FAWPL South East Division One

Just the one game being played in FAWPL South East Division One this Sunday with Enfield Town Ladies at home taking on Ipswich Town Ladies. A close 1st half Enfield Town’s Stavroulla Panayiotou scoring 2 minutes before the half-time whistle to give the home side the advantage. Regan Coleman doubling the lead a minute into the 2nd half. Taylor Cooke scoring her 1st goal for the 1st team pulling it back to 2-1 for Ipswich Town 3 minutes later. Panayiotou netting her 2nd of the game with 15 minutes left, Coleman was brought down in the box 2 minutes later a penalty awarded to Enfield, Teodora Kodova saved the initial strike but Lizzie Kent was on hand to put the rebound home to see Enfield Town Ladies win 4-1 and climb above Ipswich Town into 8th spot in the table.

FA Women’s Cup – Sunday 13th November

This Sunday saw 64 sides across the country taking place in 4th Round Qualifying of the FA Women’s Cup with the winner receiving £600 and a place in the 1st Round Proper of the competition when the big guns from the FAWPL Northern and Southern Division’s enter.

 The weekends 4th Round Qualifying featured 10 ties involving sides playing in leagues across the East. With heavy rain falling across the region on Saturday a few postponements were likely however it affected just the one FA Women’s Cup tie with Norwich City Ladies and Lowestoft Town Ladies trying again this coming Sunday.

acle-larkins   One Norfolk side already into the 1st Round Proper for the 1st time in their history is Acle United Ladies the ERWFL Premier Division side were playing at home against Brentwood Town Ladies from the same Division. Acle held the advantage at half-time with Jody Wells scoring on the 11th minute, Anna Larkins (pictures) finding the back of the net 6 minutes later. Defended the 2-0 late into the 2nd half the result assured 3 minutes from time as a 3rd goal was scored an own goal to see Acle United Ladies make history. At home again in the 1st Round Proper of the FA Women’s Cup face tough opponents playing 2 leagues higher FAWPL Southern Division side C&K Basildon Ladies making the journey up to Norfolk.

 FAWPL South East Division One leaders, Cambridge United WFC were at home on Sunday in the FA Women’s Cup taking on fellow Division One side Stevenage Ladies. The sides playing out a goalless 1st half, Cambridge changed that just 3 minutes into the 2nd half with Dawn Mallett driving into the area with the ball and scoring. New signing, Danielle Puddefoot netted her 1st Cambridge goal 10 minutes later to make it 2-0 with Laura Mills adding a 3rd goal for Cambridge 5 minutes from time. At home in the 1st Round Proper will been playing Queens Park Rangers Ladies from the FAWPL Southern Division.

 AFC Wimbledon Ladies were also taking on fellow FAWPL South East Division One opponents in 4th Round Qualifying at home against Denham United Ladies on Sunday. The home side taking the lead inside 10 minutes Sian Wylie with the goal, AFC Wimbledon took a 2-0 lead into the dressing room at half-time, Laura Low scoring on 44 minutes. Low had her 2nd of the match 3 minutes into the 2nd half. Yasmin Poole scoring to see AFC Wimbledon lead 4-0, Denham United Ladies fought back Chontele Lawrence scoring 2 goals but it wasn’t to be as they exit the competition. An away trip for AFC Wimbledon Ladies in the 1st Round Proper of the FA Women’s Cup playing the winner of the Norwich/Lowestoft game.

 A big win at home for Luton Town Ladies in 4th Round Qualifying to see them progress in the FA Women’s Cup the FAWPL South East Division One side taking on Oxford City Ladies proving too strong for their lower league opponents, Rebecca Wilson-Kane scoring a brace with a goal a piece for Nicola Henman, Shanice Jimenez, Zara Carroll and Joanne Rutherford in a 6-1 win. Luton will be at home in the 1st Round Proper taking on FAWPL Southern Division side, Portsmouth FC Ladies.

6-1 was also the winning margin for Milton Keynes Dons Ladies in the FA Women’s Cup at the weekend the FAWPL South East Division One side playing away from home taking on lower league opponents, Queens Park Rangers Girls. Heather McDonnell scoring 2 goals with Leah Cudone, Kerry Newman, Rebecca Vass and Charly Wright also getting their names on the scoresheet. A home tie in the 1st Round Proper taking on Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies who beat ERWFL Premier Division side AFC Dunstable Ladies 2-0 to advance in the cup.

The other FAWPL South East Division One side through to the FA Women’s Cup are Gillingham FC Ladies away at the weekend taking on lower league opponents, Aylesford Ladies. Emma Tune getting Gillingham off to a great start scoring 2 goals on the 9th and 12th minute. Felicity Gibbons added a goal on the half hour mark, made it 4-0 with her 2nd of the game on 40 minutes. Lauren Williams giving Gillingham a 5-0 lead at half-time. April Bowers scoring Gillingham’s 6th goal on 57 minutes, 2nd half substitute, Lydia Wills scoring 2 minutes later to see Gillingham through to the 1st Round proper with a 7-0 win. Another away trip in the 1st Round Proper playing Southampton Saints Girls & Ladies.

The lowest league placed side in the East still involved in the FA Women’s Cup were ERWFL Division One leaders, Cambridge City Ladies had enjoyed a good run in the competition and covered some miles doing it drawn away from home in the previous 2 qualifying rounds had a trip down to London on Sunday to play higher league opponents Leyton Orient WFC. The 1st half ended goalless, Grace Stanley giving Cambridge City the lead in the 2nd half Leyton Orient came back to win the game 3-1 and knock Cambridge City out of the cup.

2nd half goals from Cassie Steward, sister Katie and Vicky Lines 3 minutes from time saw Peterborough Northern Star Ladies into the 1st Round Proper of the FA Women’s Cup beating Kettering Town Ladies away from home on Sunday. Will be away to Brighouse Town Ladies in the next round.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

A full fixture list in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One at the start of November with leaders Sandy Ladies the side not in action. 2nd placed Sharnbrook WFC closing the gap by a point scoring late in a high scoring match at home to Houghton Athletic Ladies to see the points shared in a 4-4 draw. Louise Spendelow scoring from the penalty spot for Houghton Athletic, Holly Thomson netting 2 goals with Rachel Spendelow also on target for the visitors. Sharnbrook scoring 2 goals in the 1st half Chantelle Harris with both strikes, Emma Butler n 75 minutes and Gemma Franklin in the last minute of normal time seeing the match end all square.

Sherrardswood Ladies move up a place into 3rd in the Division One table winning away at Hitchin Town Ladies on Sunday, Laurie Marris scoring from the penalty spot on the half hour mark. Manjinder Atwal adding their 2nd goal early in the 2nd half Marris scoring her 2nd of the game in the last 10 minutes to see Sherrardswood to a 3-1 win.

  St Albans Ladies got off to a shaky start in Division One formerly the Harvesters FC side lost their opening 2 league matches, having gotten their 1st 3 points under their belt last Sunday built on that win this Sunday away to bottom side Letchworth Garden City Eagles to win a high scoring contest to climb up to 4th in the table. Letchworth scoring 3 goals, 2 from Tayla Murray plus a strike from Alex Bush. St Albans hitting back with more than double that tally, Courtney Blythe scoring on 19 minutes, Ellie Lovelock and Sophie Monahan also scoring in the 1st half. Lovelock going on to complete her hat-trick in the 2nd half, Katie Grehan adding 2 goals to the scoreline late in the match to see the visitors win 7-3 to leave Letchworth Garden City with all 3 points. 

Garston Ladies also won at the weekend their 2nd league win of the season to join the pack in the middle of the table at home to Bishops Stortford Ladies, ended their 100% winning start to the season joining them on 6 points winning the game 4-1 with goals from Gemma Curtis, Jane Hales, Bobbi Rhodes and Kelly Spencer. Brogan McHale with the goal for Bishops Stortford Ladies.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

 A meeting between the top 2 in Beds & Herts Division Two on Sunday with leaders Garston Ladies FC 96 taking on 2nd placed Flitwick Ladies. Level on points Flitwick Ladies relegated from Division One last season move 3 points clear at the top ending Garston Ladies FC 96 unbeaten record winning the game 2-0 Taylor Adams and Charlotte Peel with the goals in the 1st half enough to see them to victory.

4th placed Watton Ladies hadn’t won since the opening day of the season getting a point last weekend against then leaders Garston Ladies FC 96 in a 6-6 draw continued their goal scoring form into this Sundays home game against newly promoted Evergreen Ladies. Elizabeth Dowton netting a hat-trick, with a brace for Samantha Edgar to see then record a 5-0 win.

5 goals too for 5th placed Hitchin Belles at home to Royston Town Ladies Reserves on Sunday, and they needed them too as they won for the 2nd time this season edging out their opponents in a 9 goal thriller 5-4. Ruth Fox, Charlotte Peters and Charis Wakefield all scoring with Shannon Page bagging a brace for Hitchin Belles. Charlotte Riley’s hat-trick plus a goal for Zoe Quinn not enough for Royston.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Evergreen Eagles continue to lead the way in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three however they had to comeback from being 2 goals down at half-time at home to Crawley Green Ladies to get the 3 points. Jessica McNamara and Kirsty Morley finding the back of the net for the visitors. Evergreen Eagles came back 2nd half Christie Brewer with a goal plus a double from Samantha Takis seeing them win the game and keep up their 100% winning start to the season.

  3 points back in 2nd on 9 points but also with a 100% winning start to the season are Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues. At home on Sunday were taking on 3rd placed Potters bar United Ladies. Casey Chapman scored a brace for Woburn, Alice Hughes also with a goal as the home side went on to win 4-1.

Essex Women’s Premier Division

 8 win from 8 for Essex Women’s Premier Division One leaders Lawford Ladies as they continued their excellent start to the season with a 6-2 away win against 6th placed Collier Row Tigers. Keeping pace with the league leaders in 2nd place also with a 100% winning start to the season are Harlow Town Ladies a game behind/in hand made it 7 wins from 7 with a huge winning scoreline away to bottom side Hutton Ladies Reserves finding the back of the net 16 times without reply. On 21 points they are 6 points clear of Chelmsford City Ladies in 3rd.

  An away victory for Chelmsford City Ladies on Sunday away to 4th placed Eastern Avenue edging the match 3-2 thanks to goals from Georgia Sleep and a brace by Tyler Christou. That result sees Runwell Sports Ladies climb above Eastern Avenue into 4th in the Premier Division table after they won at home beating Chigwell Ladies 3-0.

7th placed Beacon Hill Rovers Ladies claimed all 3 points at home at the weekend against Walden Ladies, a 2-1 win moving them onto 8 points. Alresford Colne Rangers won for the 1st time since promotion to the Premier Division last Sunday built on that result moving up a place into 9th with a draw at home to fellow promoted side Wickford Town Ladies the final score 2-2. Charlee Twigg and Victoria Setford netting he goals for the visitors.

Essex Women’s Division One

Corringham Cosmos leading Essex Women’s Division One saw their 100% winning start come to an end last weekend after being beaten 2-1 away to Collier Row Athletic. Returned to winning ways this weekend at home in the process ending another sides 100% record at the start of the season taking on Hatfield Peveral. A close contest between the 2 sides Corringham Cosmos claiming all 3 points courtesy of a 3-2 win.

frontiers-adele-hughes  That result leaves 2nd placed Frontiers Ladies as the only unbeaten side in the league and they were in no mood to give it up away to Wickford Town Ladies Reserves on Sunday. Defender Adele Hughes (pictured) was pushed up front in attack for the match and put Frontiers into a 2-0 lead inside the opening 5 minutes. Jill Bartholomew found the back of the net for the visitors 10 minutes later. 3-0 up inside the 1st 15 minutes Frontiers extended their lead with Hughes completing her hat-trick in the 17th minute. Kelly Holsworth scoring from a free-kick just a minute later to make it 5-0. Hughes went on to add 2 more goals in the 1st half on 22 and 38 minutes, with Bartholomew scoring her 2nd of the game in between. Claire Davidson making it 9-0 to Frontiers before half-time. Double figures were reached 8 minutes into the 2nd half with Bartholomew completing her hat-trick. Hughes going on to make it a double hat-trick on the hour mark. Anne Anstey making it 12-0 with 15 minutes left on the clock. Holsworth netting from another set-piece in the final 10 minutes to see Frontiers win 13-0.

Was an even higher scoreline for 3rd placed Chelmsford City Ladies Reserves at home to bottom side Waltham Forest Ladies on Sunday. Emily Kendle with 5 goals the pick of the goalscorers. Kayla-Marie Everett netting a hat-trick. Emma Sharpe and Megan Bliss both scoring 2 goals each with Becky Tabrett and Beth Morell also putting the ball into the back of the net in a 14-0 victory.

 Having come up against the early season pace setters in their opening matches in Division One, Collier Row Athletic took a bit of time to get points on the board but are now on the move up the table building on last Sunday defeat of league leaders Corringham Cosmos with a 2-1 home defeat over Benfleet Villa Ladies to climb up to 7th in the league on 9 points.

  2-1 was also the winning margin at home for 6th placed FC Clacton Ladies as they too win their 3rd league game of the season beating 4th placed Harlow Town Ladies Reserves.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

nw-marshall Newmarket Town Ladies are the new leaders of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership maintaining their 100% winning start to the season to go 3 points clear at the top. 4 wins from 4 winning this Sunday away to Bourne Ladies. 2 goals for Nadine Basson, a goal a piece for Abbie Marshall (pictured), Abbi Griffin and Yana Ingram seeing them win the game 5-1 despite having Jeoli Kirby sent off for 2 yellow cards. Toni McHamilton with the goal for Bourne Ladies who remain bottom without a point yet since being promoted last season as Championship North Champions.

 

Another side on the move up the Premiership table are St Ives Town ladies recording a big win at home on Sunday to climb up to 3rd place in the league table. Were taking on ICA Sports Ladies. Hannah Seymour-Shove and Amy Seymour-Shove both scoring 2 goals each, Sasha Smith and Georgia Stancombe also putting the ball into the back of the net help St Ives Town Ladies to a 6-0 win.

 Bar Hill Ladies also move up the Premiership table into 4th place with a 4-0 home win against Park Ladies on Sunday. 4 different goalscorers with Hollie Dare, Naomi Ingarfield, Anna Jephson and Natalie Wells all getting their names on the scoresheet.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

There was a big game at the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North on Sunday a meeting between the top 2, Wisbech St Mary Ladies and March Town United Ladies both with a 100% winning start to the season 4 wins out of 4. Wisbech St Mary the home side lost out narrowly going down 2-1 in the finish to stay on 12 ponits dropping points and suffering their 1st defeat of the season with March Town United Ladies going clear at the top with their 5th straight league win at the start of the season, coming back from 1-0 down at half time, Carlie Knight scoring for Wisbech St Mary on 25 minutes. March Town United Ladies winning it 2nd half with goals from Louise Barbour and Shannon Kelly.

Swineshead Institute Ladies climb up to 3rd place in the Championship North table still unbeaten after 4 games at the start of the season a good resut away from home on Sunday playing Wisbech Town Ladies a single goal enough to take all 3 points for the visitors, Ellie Spendlow with the winning goal for Swineshead.

 In the other match in the Championship North, P&L Motors Diamonds in 5th place won away from home beating Hungate Rovers Ladies 4-1.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

philippa-witherspoon   Cambridge City Ladies new Development side are now 7 points clear at the top of the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South with 16 points unbeaten after 6 matches at the start of the season winning away at the weekend against Newmarket Town Ladies new Reserves side. A close result to claim all 3 points, Jordanne Sillitoe and Lauren Deller scoring for Newmarket Town. Cambridge City winning the game 3-2 with a goal from Elin Walusimbi and a brace from Philippa Witherspoon (pictured).

 

Riverside Rovers Ladies Reserves finally get off the mark in the Championship South at the weekend playing their 3rd league game got the 3 points to climb up to 6th in the table winning by a massive scoreline at home to bottom side Orton Rangers Ladies. Clare Knibbs scoring a double hat-trick with Roneta Mardosaite not far behind her with 5 goals to her name. Brandi Davies also getting in on the goal scoring action with 4 goals. Jessica Hill and Diana Olahova with a goal each to complete an 18-0 rout.
