Cambridgeshire – Sunday 12th February

Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup

  A handful of league games played across the Cambridgeshire Women’s Football leagues this Sunday with the focus being on the quarter finals of the League Cup however these were heavily affected by the weather too with just the one at The Grange,  on Netherton United Ladies all weather pitch surviving. The Premiership side were hosting Championship North side, Wisbech St Mary Ladies. Netherton United held the advantage at half-time leading 1-0 courtesy of a goal from Megan Strickland on 32 minutes. two quickfire goals from Emily Johnson on 56 and 58 minutes seeing Netherton United reach the semi-finals of the competition with a 3-0. Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

One match played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership this Sunday and with the withdrawal of Bourne Ladies from the league Park Ladies were now bottom as they hosted ICA Sports Ladies immediately above them in the table 3 points the gap. Park Ladies netted twice in the match but ultimately didn’t get anything from the game with the visitors scoring 3 times through Megan Purnell, Lindsay Short and Kerrie Holden-Jones to win the 3 points.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

The bottom two also met in the only game played in the Championship North this Sunday with Thurlby Tigers still looking for their 1st point of the season hosting Hungate Rovers Ladies. A goal each for Kelsey McKenna, Bianca Towler and Katy Walkey for Hungate seeing them win for the 2nd time this season both versus Thurlby.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

Milton Ladies lost their unbeaten record last weekend against Championship South leaders Cambridge City Ladies Development,  the 3rd placed side got back to winning ways this Sunday at home to Cambridge Rangers winning the game 3-0 the 3 points lifting them above Newmarket Town Ladies Reserves into 2nd place.

 In the other game a late fixture change bottom side Orton Rangers Ladies hosted 4th placed Riverside Rovers Reserves the visitors racking up a double figure scoreline to take home the 3 points with a 12-0 win.
