Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

A strong start to the season in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One for Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies beginning the defence of their title winning their opening two fixtures scoring 19 goals. Were at home this Sunday taking on a potential challenger to their title Northwood ladies who had begun their season with a 2-2 draw away to newly promoted Hitchin Town Ladies last weekend. Proved to be a close game with a single goal settling the match Natasha McConville firing Hemel Hempstead into a 24th minute lead. A narrow advantage Hemel Hempstead forced to defend it with 10 players for the final 25 minutes as McConville was sent off. Despite the player disadvantage Hemel Hempstead held out to secure the result.

  Hitchin Town Ladies making a fantastic start to the season on their return to Beds & Herts Women’s Division One. 4 points from their opening two fixtures including last weekend’s 2-2 draw at away to Northwood were at home for the first time this weekend taking on Hartham United Ladies. Georgia Quinton firing in a strike on the half volley to score her first Hartham goal putting the visitors into the lead. Hitchin Town coming back to level the scores just past the half hour, Natalie Thompson getting her head onto captain Emma Chaffey’s corner to make it 1-1. All square at the break both keepers playing their part, Hitchin Town edged it in the 2nd period taking the lead on the hour with Samantha Coughlan through 1 v 1 with the keeper to make it 2-1 and take full of St Albans Ladies heroics in the Women’s FA Cup to climb into 2nd spot in the table with 7 points.

  Winning their first point of the season last weekend Garston Ladies travelled to play Royston Town Women Development this Sunday who themselves had secured their first point of the campaign following promotion drawing 1-1 with Hartham United Ladies last time out. Goals from Lydia Webb and a penalty scored by Ellie Wilkerson seeing Royston drawing 2-2 with Garston the visitors scoring a winning goal from a free-kick out wide looping over the keeper to secure their 1st 3 point haul of the season. Hayley Carr, Sian Fishen and Ruby Jager all celebrating their first goals of the season for Garston.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

In Bianca Vassell, AFC Dunstable Women Blues have a formidable attacker, 34 goals scored last season in their debut season on their way to winning the Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three title. Has 11 already from 3 played in league and cup. A 10-2 win to start their league campaign this term were at home this weekend taking on Evergreen Ladies who were playing their first game of the season. Proved to be a harsh opening. Vassell scoring 4 goals she isn’t the only goalscorer in Dunstable’s line-up Emily Mitchell with a hat-trick to taking her to 8 for the season. Nicola Hollick with her fair share of goals last season also netting a hat-trick on Sunday one from the penalty spot. Gemma Williams and Nicole Cameron celebrating their 1st Dunstable goals with Kerry Mulvihill-Reed and Holly Wilks also scoring in a 14-0 win.

Garston Ladies Vintage Purples (Reserves) topping the table as they won at home on Sunday against Wheathampstead Wanderers Ladies on Sunday. Awarded an opening day win drew away to Watton ladies last time out. First goals of the season from Jane Hales, Emma Trill and Yasmin Sabri seeing them win their 1st 3 points of the season to keep a point clear at the top of Division Two.

   Two wins from two to start the season for newly promoted Langford Ladies. Clinching a 1-0 win over fellow promoted side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses on the opening day continued with a win in the county cup last weekend. At home again this Sunday taking on Watton Ladies. Amber Clark top scorer for Langford last season scoring in her 3rd successive match there were first goals of the season too for Pearl Houghton and Leah Holmes in a 3-0 victory. Langford 3rd in the table.

  AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies are also promoted to Beds & Herts Women’s Two this season. Making their league bow this weekend were away to Sherrardswood Ladies. Chloe Urbanowicz amongst the goals early last season for Kempston she opened her account with a brace this Sunday so to two goals for Bex Cray with Charlie Mullins also finding the back of the net for a goal in a comfortable 5-0 win to start the season.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Three matches taking place in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this weekend. Harvesters Ladies topping the table making a perfect start to the league since joining this season making it 3 wins from 3. Were at home to Bedwell Rangers Ladies this Sunday who were coming into the match off the back of a confidence boosting first win of the season 8-1 away to Buntingford Town Ladies last time out. Ran Harvesters close narrowly missing out in a 3-2 defeat. Isobel Hughes putting the ball home for two goals for Harvesters with Rachel King also on target for her 4th goal of the season.

 A trio of sides all on 6 points behind Harvesters with 2 wins from 2 on the board. A 9-0 win at home to mark their Beds & Herts Women’s league debut Herts Vipers went one goal better this weekend reaching double figures at home to Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves. A goal inside the opening minute for Nicole Jancey with Rosie Langston opening her account just a minute later setting Herts Vipers on their way. Jancey going on to complete a first half hat-trick with Annalie Wood also scoring in the 1st period to see the hosts 5-0 up. A further five goals added in the 2nd half Jancey with her 4th 2 minutes after the restart. Rachel Wall and Rebecca Scott getting their first goals of the season, Jancey with a her 2nd 5 goal haul in just two matches adding Herts 9th with 10 minutes left Langston with her 2nd of the game seeing harts Vipers win 10-0.

  Two wins from two also for Kempston Rovers Ladies 6 points from their opening two league games a perfect start victory coming at home to Flitwick Eagles Ladies on Sunday. Leading 3-1 at half-time Kempston matching their opening day goals tally to win the game 5-1 in the 2nd half. Millie Scott scoring twice on her first start for the club. Megan Burnapp also on target to score her first Kempston Rovers goal. A first of the season too for Sabrina Stramaglia with Ellie Newbury-Bierton also on the scoresheet. Kempston Rovers 3rd in the table ahead of Biggleswade United Ladies who also have 6 points awarded the 3 points for an away win against Buntingford this weekend.

Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup

The third county beginning their County Cup competition this Sunday in the East was Bedfordshire, four ties taking place in the first round. 

Bedford Ladies Development were hosting Division Three side Kempston Rovers Ladies in the 1st round of the competition, pushed hard by their opponents Division Two Bedford scoring twice to secure their place in the next round winning 2-0.

  It was also a 2-0 win at home for Division Two side Langford Ladies against Stotfold Juniors Ladies from Division Three in the County Cup 1st round. A first goal of the season for Tabitha Brown along with a goal for last season top scorer Amber Clark securing the win.

  Division Three side Biggleswade United Ladies took their Division Two opponents AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies all the way to a dramatic penalty shootout before being knocked out of the competition. Goals for Biggleswade’s Zoe Molloy and Kempston’s Charlie Mullins seeing it end all square at 1-1 to force the shootout, Kempston clinching it with a 6-5 result.

  AFC Dunstable Ladies Blues were strong at home as they advanced to the next round of the County Cup scoring double figures against Division Three opponents Flitwick Eagles Ladies. Bianca Vassell top scoring in the game with a hat-trick. Emily Mitchell scoring a brace, so too Lakeisha Fazilahmed with her first goals of the new season. There were also first goals of the campaign for Lauren Brooker, Kerry Mulvihill-Reed and Holly Wicks with Courtney McNamara also celebrating a goal in an 11-0 win.

Three games taking place in the 2nd Round of the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup the draw as follows ties to be played Sunday 20th October.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

There was a full programme of fixtures in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One with all 10 sides in action. An 8-2 win at home to Hitchin Belles to start the season, defending champions Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies are looking strong at the start of the season as they travelled to play another promoted side this weekend. Letchworth Garden City Eagles playing their first competitive game of the season. A 5 goal haul for Bianca Hedgecock to open her account last weekend she was at it again this Sunday scoring 5 again. Last seasons top scorers Natasha McConville also on target with a hat-trick, with a goal each for Amy Bentall, Kayleigh Baker and Ella Mercer, final score 11-0.

Last season’s Division Two Champions, Hitchin Belles losing to Hemel Hempstead in their opening Division One fixture faced another tough opponent this weekend as they hosted St Albans Ladies. Cally Salter on target to score a first half hat-trick for St Albans her 3rd in the 44th minute, Ellen Salter adding a fourth just before the half-time whistle. Hitchin Belles restricting their opponents to just one more goal with Cally Salter scoring her 4th of the game 10 minutes from time. 2 wins from 2 for St Albans who travel to ERWFL side Histon Ladies this weekend in the Women’s FA Cup.

Tighter affairs elsewhere in Division One with the points shared in the other 3 matches. Hitchin Town Ladies newly promoted were away to last seasons runners-up, Northwood Ladies playing their first game of the season. The hosts opening the scoring midway through the 1st half. Hitchin Town coming back to level 10 minutes later Robyn Wilfort sliding in to beat the keeper send the ball over the goal line. All square at the break both sides attacking 2nd half sensing they can win the game entering the closing minutes Hitchin clearing in defence the ball played up field finding Samantha Couglan one on one with the keeper o score and send Hitchin into the lead. Northwood coming back at them in stoppage time piling players forwards a cross into the box sent home to see it finish 2-2. Holly Gilder and Emma Steele with the Northwood goals.

 2-2 the final score to between Garston Ladies and Houghton Athletic Ladies seeing both collect their first point of the season having both started with a defeat. Charley Kelsey and Danielle McMullan getting the goals for Garston, whilst Emily Wilson and Louise Spendelow were on target for Houghton Athletic.

Hartham United Ladies were playing at home for the first time this weekend hosting Royston Town Women Development. The hosts starting well creating chances, Royston’s keeper keeping it at 0-0. The visitors going on to open the scoring with Jazmin Racher chasing down the keeper to tap the ball into the empty net. A 1-0 lead for Royston at the break, Hartham strong in the 2nd half Janiece Allen finding the bottom corner to make it 1-1. More chances created Hartham were again thwarted by Royston’s keeper to see the sides finish level.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

With several of the Division Two sides involved in the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup there was just the one fixture in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two this Sunday with Watton Ladies hosting Garston Ladies Vintage Purples. Stephanie Roads putting Garston into the lead. Watton beaten heavily on the opening day of the season, better this time around coming back to level the scores with Gemma Bickell on target to make it 1-1 and see the sides earn a point each.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

The Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup also affecting the fixtures in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three on Sunday with just two games played. A third seeing Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves awarded the home win over Evergreen Eagles. 

Big wins in the other two matches Bedwell Rangers Ladies having lost their opening game getting off the mark with 3 points won away to Buntingford Town Ladies. The hosts taking the lead with Chloe Camper putting Buntingford 1-0 up against the run of play. The goal spurring Bedwell into life the visitors going on to score 4 quick goals to lead the game 4-1 at half-time. Bedwell continued to press for more goals 2nd half adding another 4 to win the game 8-1 to collect their first points of the season. Rachel Young netting a hat-trick, there was also a three goal haul for Jessica Sullivan with Maisie Main and Freya Rampley also on the scoresheet with a goal each.

Also scoring 8 goals at the weekend were Harvesters Ladies to make it 2 wins from 2 to start the season away to fellow newcomers Whetstone Wanderers Ladies. Two players celebrating a hat-trick for Harvesters with both Rachel King and Eve Shaw scoring 3 each. Rachel Dodd and Isobel Hughes also on target with a goal each the win seeing Harvesters move clear at the top albeit very early days.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

The opening weekend action comes thick and fast with leagues expanding in size the Beds & Herts Women’s Football League seeing 31 sides this season competing once again across 3 divisions. Plenty of goals scored on the opening weekend too in what has always proved to be a competitive league at all levels, sure that will prove to be the case once again this season.

  With the increase in size teams are promoted up the tables into higher leagues, 4 making the step up to Division One this season, with Royston Town Women Development and Letchworth Garden City Eagles joining last season’s Champions Hitchin Belles and runners-up Hitchin Town Ladies. Sadly we have lost Sharnbrook WFC, whilst Sherrardswood Ladies and Garston Ladies Vintage Purples are relegated. Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires become Hartham United Ladies.

  4 matches to start the season, with defending Champions Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies beginning at home to Hitchin Belles. Hemel Hempstead were strong last season and will certainly be the team to beat this time around to. Were strong in their opening fixture to win the match 8-2 with Bianca Hedgecock top scoring with 5 goals. Natasha McConville also getting on the scoresheet along with Amy Bentell and Kaila Merridan. Emily Field with both strikes for Hitchin Belles.

   Top though after the opening fixtures are St Albans Ladies as they scored 7 without reply at home to Garston Ladies (1st team) on the opening day. Formerly Garston’s 2nd XI they finished ahead of their club mates to see the sides changing names ahead of the new season with separate twitter accounts to save confusion for the likes of myself. Not the start to the new season they wanted however as St Albans were dominant 4-0 up at half-time added 3 more goals late in the match with Eleanor Lovelock netting a hat-trick. Sophie Hull opened the scoring after 10 minutes. Ellen Slater and Molly Slade both finding the back of the net with a goal each in the 1st period. Cally Salter scoring late in the match.

  Hitchin Town Ladies were involved in a fierce title race in Division Two last season with their local rivals eventually finishing 2nd, promoted began the season with a trip to fellow promoted side Royston Town Women Development. Hat-tricks for both Louise Gash and Samantha Couglan securing a 6-1 victory for Hitchin with Eve Chappell on target for the Royston goal.

  Hartham United Ladies are a new name in the league the squad largely made up of former Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires players. The new side a charity football team looking to raise money and awareness of child bereavement for the 4louis charity. Began their league campaign with a trip to play Houghton Athletic Ladies. Both sides capable of beating anyone on the day shared a close match. Hartham United securing the 3 points courtesy of a 4-2 win. Ellie Burke netting a brace their were goal celebration too for Patience Ndlovu and Sophie Mandel. Emily Watson and Shakeela Hussain opening their accounts for Houghton Athletic.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

 It was a dramatic finish to the season in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three last season with a 3 way battle for the title going all the way to the final day. AFC Dunstable Blues (Development then) clinching the title to win promotion to Division Two. AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies strong at the end promoted as runners-up also going up are Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses and Langford Ladies. 10 teams in the league, Evergreen Eagles and Welwyn Pegasus Azures (now Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves relegated)

  3 games to start the season in Division Two and as in Division One plenty of goals scored. AFC Dunstable Blues beginning the season with a home match against Watton Ladies. Bianca Vassell scoring lots of goals last season 34 in total didn’t hang around this season to open her account finding the back of the net for 4 goals. Emily Mitchell joining the side this season netting a hat-trick in her first competitive match. Goals too for Nicola Hollick and Courtney McNamara in a 10-2 win. Watton Ladies positive in the build up to the new season not making the start they would have liked.

   A difficult campaign for Sherrardswood Ladies last season finishing bottom of Beds & Herts Division One and relegated. A positive outlook to start the new season however and got off to a fantastic start at home playing Wheathampstead Wanderers Ladies on Sunday. Kristie Donovan putting the hosts into the lead on 10 minutes. A quick fire brace from Rhiana Rose 10 minutes later saw Sherrardswood leading 3-0. Rose going on to complete her hat-trick then adding another on the stroke of half-time. 5-0 up at the break two further goals were added inside the final 10 minutes with Natasha Little and Manjinder Atwal celebrating.

  Elsewhere in Division Two it was a much tighter affair between Langford Ladies and Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses as the two newly promoted sides met in their opening fixture. Amber Clark top scoring for Langford last season with 25 goals, getting the only goal of the match in the first half to secure the 3 points for the hosts.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

  50 goals scored already and we haven’t even started with Division Three! An 11 strong league this season with 4 new sides joining, Herts Vipers, Whetstone Wanderers Ladies and familiar names returning Harvesters Ladies and Flitwick Eagles Ladies. As mention before Hitchin Town Ladies were previously Welwyn Pegasus Azures. 

  Plenty of goals scored across the five fixtures taking place on the opening weekend. 3 of the new sides getting off to a fantastic start. Herts Vipers were at home taking on Bedwell Rangers Ladies. Two goals inside the opening 15 minutes from Nicole Jancey seeing Harts Vipers leading 2-0 at half-time. The hosts ran riot in the 2nd period to put 7 more goals past their opponents Jancey adding 3 more goals to her tally. There was a brace for Rebecca Edge with both Annalie Wood and Lois Ruane on target for a goal each in a 9-0 win.

 A high scoring win too at home for Flitwick Eagles Ladies on the opening day as they hosted fellow newcomers Whetstone Wanderers Ladies. Brittany Holdsworth getting her name on the scoresheet for 5 goals for Flitwick there was also a hat-trick for Anna Bright along with a goal each for Sammy Beharry and Abbie Ambrose. 10 goals for Flitwick they didn’t have it all their own way with Whetstone Wanderers breaching their defence for 3 goals themselves.

  Harvesters Ladies also new to the league recording an opening day victory at home as they took on Hitchin Town Ladies Reserves. Sian Appleyard, Rachel Dodds and Eve Shaw all claiming a goal as Harvesters ran out 3-0 winners.

   A high scoring match too between Biggleswade United Ladies and Stotfold Juniors Ladies on Sunday in their league opener. Biggleswade making some notable new addition look like they will be challenging at the top this season. A close first half though saw them trailing 2-1 at the break. Molly Norman and Becky Charter with the goals for Stotfold. A Jade Horsley goal sandwiched in between for the hosts. Biggleswade starting the 2nd half well, Leeanne Davison with 2 goals inside 5 minutes putting them 3-2 ahead. Norman scoring again for Stotfold on the hour, so too Zoe Molloy for Biggleswade the latter netting again midway through the 2nd half. 5-3 in front Norman scored her 3rd of the game to reduce the arrears for Stotfold, Biggleswade going on to win comfortably as Horsley added a brace to claim an opening day hat-trick along with one more for Davison to see her celebrating a hat-trick and an 8-4 win for Biggleswade.

  The final game to bring you saw Kempston Rovers Ladies away to Buntingford Town Ladies both beginning their 2nd season in the Beds & Herts women’s football league. A tough first season for Buntingford, Kempston Rovers improved as the season wore on and will be looking to progress further. Got off to a great start winning 5-0 to bring the 3 points home. Ellie Newberry-Blerton and Zoe Trinder both scoring twice with Ellie Williamson alos on target for a goal.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

The final day of the league season in the Beds & Herts Women’s football leagues this Sunday with just the League Cup and Chris Renshaw Cup Finals to come. Things settled in Division One with Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies winning the title 3 points clear of 2nd placed Northwood Ladies with St Albans Ladies who Hemel Hempstead will meet in the League Cup finishing 3rd. Joining St Albans on 32 points in 4th are Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires with a big win on the final day to mark a fine fist season playing in Division One. Leading for a good spell early on Welwyn have more than held their own in a competitive league following promotion from Division Two. At home to Sharnbrook WFC who have tailed away towards the end of the season Welwyn secured the 3 points courtesy of a 7-1 win.

Promoted as champions of Division Two along with Welwyn, Garston Ladies 2nd XI had a difficult start to life in the higher league bottom for a long spell simply not playing games had alot of catching up to do but a terrific run of form at last getting games played they have stormed up the league to seal a 6th placed finish winning 6 of their last 8 league matches. Away to Houghton Athletic Ladies who have been solid in mid-table on the final day the sides sharing 8 goals between them, Garston edging Houghton out to win the game 5-3. Charley Kelsey netting twice for Garston to put her on 15 goals for the season. Ruby Jager top scorer with a goal has 18. Holly Jury and Lauren Berryman also on target with a goal each. Emily Wilson with 15 goals for Houghton scoring in their final game along with Shakeela Hussain and Coral Beary with her first goal. Garston’s 2nd XI with one more game to play this Sunday at 11am The Chris Renshaw Cup Final against counterparts Garston Ladies 1st team.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

One game left to play in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two and having secured a 2nd placed finish in the league and promotion to Division One, Hitchin Town Ladies were away to Wheathampstead Wanderers Ladies on the final day. Have enjoyed a strong season at the top for much of the campaign a big win to finish the campaign. Captain Emma Chaffey edging out Louise Gash to the top goalscorer position netting a hat-trick to finish on 18 goals, Gash with a brace not far behind with 15. There was a brace to in the final game for Rebecca Day her first goal of the season with Lauren Wyatt and Natalie Thompson also scoring a goal each in a 9-0 win. 

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

All set up for a dramatic final day of the season in Beds & Herts Division Three with the top 3 all with a chance to win the title. Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses top of the pile at the start of the day a point clear of both AFC Dunstable Ladies Development and AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies. 

 Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses with just the 2 losses all season away to 3rd placed Kempston & Bedford in their last game. Kempston & Bedford with a strong finish to the season to put themselves right back in the title picture including back to back wins against Dunstable. Those Dunstable’s only defeats too having drawn 0-0 on the opening day going on to win their next 12 league matches to lead the way in their debut season in women’s football. The title out of their hands going into the last game needed the other result to go there way so long as they did there job away to Biggleswade United Ladies. 

AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies also making their debut in women’s football enjoying a good start and finish to the season whilst also reaching the semi-finals of both the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup and League Cup. Giselle Randall’s goals powering Woburn & Wavendon to the top of the league, she was on target for 2 more in the final game to put her on 39 for the season. It wasn’t enough as Woburn & Wavendon lost to see them finish up in 3rd spot with Kempston & Bedford winning the game 5-2! Chloe Urbanowicz with the goals early on in the campaign setting the tone for the season on the scoresheet with her 19th of the season. Kayleigh Humphries and Abigale Young both getting a goal a piece along with a first goal for the club for Chloe Hulett and Emily Kay. Kempston & Bedford finishing above Woburn & Wavendon.

That result seeing the Beds & Herts Division Three title go to AFC Dunstable Ladies as they got the win they needed against Biggleswade United Ladies. Bianca Vassell putting Dunstable into the lead late in the first half. Biggleswade not letting Dunstable have it their own way however as they came back to level the scored 7 minutes into the 2nd half. Helen Coster with the goal. Dunstable getting there noses back in front 10 minutes later with Vassell scoring her 2nd of the match her 34th overall. This time they held on in what was bound to be a nervous finish to clinch the 3 points to become Champions!

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

 Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies are the Champions! Winning their final game of the season on Sunday away to Houghton Athletic Ladies to clinch the title playing their first season in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One edging out 2nd placed Northwood Ladies by just 3 points in the finish but with games in hand on the sides above them all season always knew what they had to do to get the job done. Charlene Turturici-Clarke netting a brace to take her into double figures for the season their were also goals for Lizzie Richardson and Bianca Hedgecock with top scorer Natasha McConville scoring her 22nd goal of the campaign and Eloise baker her first goal.  Congratulations to Hempstead Town Ladies on winning the Division One title. One game left to play the League Cup Final where they take on current holders St Albans Ladies on Sunday 12th May.

Two more games played in Division One on the penultimate weekend of league matches in the Beds & Herts leagues. St Albans Ladies finishing 3rd ending their league campaign with a win, last season’s champions away to Garston Ladies 1st team on Sunday goals from Michaela Johnson, Ellen Slater and Molly Slade securing a 3-0 win.

Their strong finish to the season continues for Garston Ladies 2nd XI as they win a 5th league match in April to secure a 6th placed finish in Division One with a game to play. Were away to Sharnbrook WFC this weekend having beaten them 6-0 at home two weekends ago. Competed a double over their opponents scoring 6 once again with Megan Allaway and Ruby Jager both scoring twice along with a goal each for Charley Kelsey and Chloe Hazell. No clean sheet this time though with Sharnbrook scoring through Millie Scott to see the game finish 6-1.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

Hitchin Town Ladies were playing a must win game away to Letchworth Garden City Eagles on Sunday with the winner assured a runners up finish in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two. Hitchin Town with an early goal leading 1-0 within the opening 5 minutes captain Emma Chaffey striking the crossbar the rebound dropping to Many Cain-Murnane to put into the back of the net. Chaffey making it 2-0 midway through the first half her free-kick in off the keeper. The win secured in the final 15 minutes of the game with Chaffey scoring Hitchin Town’s 3rd goal to secure 2nd spot. Letchworth playing their last game of the season finishing in 3rd.

Royston Town Ladies Development completing their Division Two campaign this Sunday a 4th place finish secured travelled to play Evergreen Eagles. Finished on a high with a comfortable victory. Eve Chappell scoring twice her first goals for the side in only her 3rd appearance. 8-0 the winning score with 5 other players on target for a goal each, Kierra Gabriel with her 11th of the season. Olivia Sole, Jazmin Racher and first goals too for Ami Ellis and Lydia Webb.

Bedford Ladies Development and Wheathamstead Wanderers Ladies both winning at home at the weekend by a single goal, 1-0 wins against Welwyn Pegasus Azure and Watton Ladies respectfully.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

In Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three the title race is going all the way to the final day. AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies beating leaders AFC Dunstable for the 2nd successive weekend to see them slip to 2nd and move to within a point of them in 3rd and 3 behind new leaders Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses. Goalless at half-time Kempston took the lead in the 53rd minute. Nicola Hollick equalising for Dunstable with 12 minutes left to play, Kempston coming back to retake the lead in the 83rd minute to win the game 2-1, Rachael Mumford and Kayleigh Humphries with their goals.

  Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses enter the final round of league matches top of the pile two points clear of Dunstable and 3 ahead of Kempston. Were away to Kempston Rovers Ladies on Sunday. Giselle Randall top scorer for the club scoring five goals to move to 37 goals for the season from 19 played. Laura Sephton also on target for a brace with Nikita Blackburn and Zoe Griffiths also getting a goal each in a 9-2 win. Meghan Dimmock and Sabrina Stramaglia scoring the goals for Kempston Rovers.

  Playing their final match of the season Stotfold Juniors Ladies end on a positive note finishing 6th in their debut season in women’s football with a 2-1 home win over 5th placed Biggleswade United Ladies.

  Three sides all with a chance of finishing top on the final day a huge game between 3rd and top with AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies hosting Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses, the 3rd placed side with a better goal difference need the win a point for Woburn & Wavendon enough to finish top. AFC Dunstable Ladies away to Biggleswade United Ladies will be hoping Kempston do them a favour so long as they can secure a win themselves on the final day.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

Following up from a comfortable 7-1 home win against Garston Ladies 2nd XI in midweek with both Bianca Hedgecock and Charlene Turturici-Clarke scoring a brace each, Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies closed the gap to leaders Northwood Ladies to 3 points. Due to play Garston Ladies 1st team n Sunday their opponents forfeited the game see Hemel Hempstead awarded the 3 points and move level with the leaders. One game left away to Houghton Athletic Ladies a point or better will see them crowned Division One champions, Northwood will be cheering on Houghton. 

  Garston Ladies 2nd XI bounced back from their midweek defeat to Hemel Hempstead to win at home against Sharnbrook WFC on Sunday and as a result move off the bottom of the Division One table. Ruby Jager scoring a hat-trick in their 6-0 victory with Lauren Berryman, Leah Crocket and Charley Kelsey also bagging a goal each. Sherrardswood Ladies go bottom having played all their games.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

One more Champion to celebrate this week with Hitchin Belles getting the point they needed on Sunday to become Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two Champions! Were playing their final game of the season away to local rivals and 2nd placed Hitchin Town Ladies. The match at played at Top Field home of Hitchin Town FC, Hitchin Town Ladies were 8 points behind Hitchin Belles with 3 games left to play needed a win to have any chance of denying Belles the title. In the finish it wasn’t to be with the sides battling out a 0-0 draw usually a frustrating result but not for Hitchin Belles as they win the title and promotion to Division One.

   That 0-0 draw good news for Letchworth garden City Eagles as they move back up into 2nd place in the Division Two table with a home win over in form Evergreen Ladies on Sunday. Goals from Kate Tempest, Katie Smith, Emily Jamieson and a 1st of the season for Anna Argiros seeing Letchworth win the game 4-0, one game left to play, that against Hitchin Town Ladies now basically a shoot off for 2nd place with one point between the sides even though Hitchin have a game in hand.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Three games played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three on Sunday and with two games left for the top 3 it is going to go down to the wire. Leaders AFC Dunstable Ladies Development top of the table were unbeaten dropping just 2 points before this weekends home clash with 3rd placed AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies. The visitors inflicting the first defeat of the season on Dunstable to close the gap to them down to 4 points. Rachael Mumford scoring a brace for Kempston Town & Bedford College with a goal each for Taylor Kingston and Kayleigh Humphries plus an own goal securing a 5-1 win. Bianca Vassell with the goal for Dunstable the pair meeting again in a fortnight in their penultimate game of the season. A win then for Dunstable putting Kempston Town & Bedford College out of the title race, if it goes the other way thing’s get very interesting on the final day!

   That defeat for Dunstable good news too for Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses in 2nd place as they close the gap to the leaders to just a point with a big win away to bottom side Buntingford Town Ladies. Giselle Randall on fire with 7 goals in the game taking her onto 32 goals for the season, the visitors winning 10-0 with Victoria Harrold also on target with a goal and a brace for Laura Sephton. An intriguing contest between Dunstable and Kempston Town & Bedford College in a fortnights time Woburn & Wavendon are away to Kempston Town & Bedford College in the pairs final game of the season where all three sides could all still be in contention for the title!

One more game to bring you and it was victory in their final game of the season for Langford Ladies who secure a 4th placed finish in their debut season in women’s football. Were away to Biggleswade United Ladies in 5th spot. A brace from top scorer Amber Clark finishing on 25 goals plus one from Chloe Scott who ends on 21 goals for the season sealing a 3-0 win.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

The race for the title in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One looks like it will go all the way now in what has been an intriguing title race at the top of the table all season. Northwood Ladies the first side to complete their fixtures ending on a high sitting top of the table with a crucial 1-0 home win over 2nd placed St Albans Ladies on Sunday, that win taking Northwood 4 points clear of St Albans Ladies meaning they can’t catch the with one game left to play. Runners-up to St Albans Ladies  in their debut season last year Northwood are guaranteed a top two finish this time around too. Leanne Jones scoring the all important winning goal. 

As intriguing as the title race in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One has been, there was always likely with their games in hand over their rivals and suffering just the one defeat all season that Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies would come through to take top spot, that though looks less certain now after they suffered a surprise defeat away from home on Sunday to bottom side Garston Ladies 2nd XI. A brace from Ruby Jager along with a goal for Charley Kelsey seeing Garston Ladies fresh from reaching The Chris Renshaw Trophy final beating Hemel Hempstead 3-1. Amy Bentall scoring the goal for the visitors, the title remains in Hemel Hempstead’s reach with 3 games left to play but can’t afford any more slip ups with the gap to Northwood 6 points.

  A good weekend all round for Garston Ladies women’s sides as their 1st team extended their unbeaten run in league and cup to 6 matches building on a midweek win away to Sherrardswood Ladies to beat Sharnbrook WFC at home this Sunday. A 2-1 win in midweek, Garston scored 2 without reply on Sunday to pick up the 3 points and climb up a place to 7th in the table.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

Home wins awarded to the top two in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two the title battle almost over. Hitchin Belles top of the table leading by 9 points with a game left to play, that match away to 2nd placed Hitchin Town Ladies this coming Sunday. A positive result for Hitchin Belles seeing them finish champions, promotion to Division One for the 1st time assured. Even a win for Hitchin Town may not be enough as even with maximum points from their last 3 games will see the sides level on 44 points Hitchin Belles with a usual 19+ goal difference as it stands. A fantastic season for both an Sunday’s game sure to be a special day played at Hitchin Town FC’s Top Field stadium.

One game played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two on Sunday, a thriller between Evergreen Ladies & Watton Ladies sharing 9 goals, Watton bringing an end to Evergreen’s winning streak. Both sides short on a full compliment of players Natalie Maher on target with a brace for Evergreen has 14 goals now for the season with Top scorer Rebecca Freeman staying 1 ahead of her on 15 with a goal, Lisa Nolan also getting a goal. 4 though wasn’t enough for Evergreen to take anything from the game as a brace from Gemma Bickell taking her to 10 for the season and a hat-trick from Sian Owens also on 10 goals no seeing Watton clinch the win 5-4.

Three games in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this Sunday and with leaders AFC Dunstable Ladies Reserves not in action it was a chance for 2nd & 3rd placed Woburn & Wavendon Lioness & AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies to close the gap exert some pressure leading into the final 3 games of the season.

Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses at home to Bedwell Rangers Ladies this Sunday, Nikita Blackburn scoring a brace for the hosts her 1st goals of the season. Kodi Meader and Victoria Harrold celebrating a goal each too along with top scorer Giselle Randall finding the back of the net for the 25th time this season as Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses won the game 5-2 to close the gap to Dunstable back to 4 points. Jessica Sullivan and Georgia Miller scoring the goals for Bedwell Rangers playing their last game of the season.

   AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies were also at home this Sunday taking on Stotfold Juniors Ladies in Division Three. Bex Cray top scoring in the game with 4 for the hosts moves her onto 18 goals for the season. AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College winning the game 7-2 with Emily Devereux, Rachael Mumford and Danielle Cherry all claiming a goal each, Cherry’s first of the season. The 3rd placed side closing the gap to AFC Dunstable to 7 points, the two sides have to play each other home and away in their final 3 games, with their final game at home to Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses those games could well have a big impact on the title.

A hat-trick from Amber Clark enough to see 4th placed Langford Ladies win the 3 points at home to Kempston Rovers Ladies on Sunday in Division Three. County League Round-Up

 A reduced fixture list across the county leagues in the East this weekend, Sunday being Mother’s Day just 15 games played across the whole of the region felt it easiest to place all the games in one edition of The Round-Up. A handful of games in Norfolk, Suffolk, Essex & Beds & Herts.

Norfolk Women’s Division One

Beginning in Norfolk, two matches played in Division One on Sunday. League Champions, Thorpe United Ladies playing their last game of the campaign away to Bungay Town Ladies. 12 wins and a single defeat in the 13 games played to date a successful league campaign for Thorpe bringing a number of youth players into the squad this season, have performed well the club running away with the leagues, injuries stretching them towards the end were looking to end on a high against a Bungay side starting to move in the right direction themselves after a difficult start to the season. Always competitive between the two a heavy defeat for Thorpe at Bungay last season, a better start to the game scoring twice to lead the game 2-0 at half-time. A competitive 2nd half saw Bungay fight back scoring 3 goals, Thorpe responding adding a further two goals to win the game 4-3. Captain Rebekah Lake finishing well clear as top scorer for Thorpe a goal on Sunday taking her to 18. Midfielder Laura Hedtke also into double figures for the season with a goal   finishes on 11. Victoria McNorton and Millie Cursons also on the scoresheet. Selina Rowland, Grace Storey and Jody Wells getting the Bungay goals. 

Gorleston Ladies up to 3rd in the Division One table have 2nd placed Sprowston Ladies in their sights, were at home this Sunday taking on 4th placed Sprowston Athletic Ladies. A close game a goal each for Sophie Gillett and Bethany Turner enough to win the game for Gorleston despite a goal from Kate Morris for Sprowston Athletic the hosts winning 2-1 move to within a point of Sprowston Ladies with a game in hand.

Norfolk Women’s Division Two

  A first defeat in the league in women’s football for Norfolk Women’s Division Two leaders, Taverham United Women last Sunday losing 3-0 at home to in form Tavern Ladies. Taverham bouncing back straight away with an away win against bottom side Bulldogs Ladies this Sunday in the only match taking place in the division. The scores close at half-time with Taverham holding a narrow 1-0 advantage. The visitors getting the better of the 2nd half despite Bulldogs getting a goal themselves Taverham going on to score 3 more to win the game 4-1 to go 9 points clear at the top of the table, Hannah Artis bagging herself a hat-trick in the game along with a goal for top scorer Rebecca Sutton who now has 35 goals for the season.

Suffolk Women’s Division

Three league games played in the Suffolk Women’s Division this Sunday, East Bergholt United Ladies keeping their 6 point lead at the top of the table with a home win in a high scoring match with 3rd placed Brantham Athletic Ladies. The visitors scoring 3 goals, East Bergholt securing the 3 points hitting five in reply. Stacey Teager scoring a brace to move to 16 goals for the season. Another goal for Annie Northwood takes her to 33 for the campaign. Jessica Clark and Jessica Quinsee also scoring a goal a piece. 2nd placed Needham Market Women awarded the 3 points for a home win against Alresford Colne Rangers. 

   Brettvale Ladies keep up their good form in 2019 just the one defeat from 8 played. A point earned on the road this Sunday away to Leiston St Margaret Ladies. Pushing for a decent mid-table finish and a good platform to build on for next season. Tarnya McKew scoring her 18th goal for Brettvale since joining the game finishing 1-1.

 A winning end to the season for Brightlingsea Regent Ladies, their first season in women’s football coming to an end at home to Chantry Grasshoppers Ladies. The team continuing to develop haven’t always got the points they deserved, looking for a new manager to take their development further. 1-0 up at half-time Brightlingsea made sure of a winning finish adding a further 2 goals 2nd half to win the game 3-1. Paige Knight, Jessica Scott and Lucy Tilbury with her 1st of the season the goalscorers. Felicia Harris with her first Chantry Grasshoppers goal.

Essex Women’s Premier Division

 Two games in the Essex Women’s Premier Division this Sunday. League Cup action or lack of seeing Harlow Town Ladies lose ground in the league a comfortable victory at home on this weekend saw them climb back up to 3rd in the table. Were taking on Silver End United Ladies, 2-0 up at half-time, Harlow scoring a further 2 in the 2nd period to clinch the 3 points. Top scorer Hannah Smith amongst the goals with her 23rd of the season, 17 goals too now for Ellie Nicholls also getting a goal. Lucy Edmeades with a goal too with Ellie Wallace another new name amongst the goal scorers for Harlow this season with her first goal in just her 2nd appearance.

  In the other game played on Sunday in the Essex Women’s Premier Division it was a 7 goal thriller between Corringham Cosmos and Southend United Ladies. Rebecca Gallagher getting hosts Corringham off to a great start scoring her 17th goal of the season in the opening minute. Southend getting back on level terms to see the sides drawing 1-1 at half-time. The visitors getting the better of the 2nd half a further 5 goals added to win the game 4-3. Michelle Sumpter on the hour and final minute for Corringham. Lily Halliday, Ria Toovey, Kate Wiseman and Lauren Johnson with the goals for Southend.

Essex Women’s Division One

One game taking place in Essex Women’s Division One on Sunday with Chigwell Ladies at home to 4th placed Rayleigh Town Ladies. 46 goals now for Rayleigh Town captain Isabelle Wallings scoring a brace against Chigwell. Was Sunday’s top scorer however with a hat-trick for Holly Gash  who herself moves onto 22 goals for the season. Millie Arnold also on the scoresheet with a goal along with Sophie Rhodes scoring on her Rayleigh Town debut in a 7-0 victory.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

The top sides bunch up again in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One with leaders Northwood Ladies not in action the chasing sides all picked up the 3 points to see just 4 points once again between the top 4. 3rd placed Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies awarded the home win over Sharnbrook, there were two matches played on Sunday.

 2nd placed St Albans Ladies closing to within a point of Northwood winning away to bottom side, Garston Ladies 2nd XI. A fantastic start for the visitors 2-0 up inside the opening 6 minutes. Michaela Johnson making it 1-0 with less than a minute played, Molly Slade doubling the lead. Garston doing well to keep St Albans adding further goals, just 3 minutes left on the clock, St Albans doing 3-0 up, Slade with her 2nd of the match in the 87th minute, a 4th goal added in the final minute with Ellen Salter finding the back of the net for her 15th goal of the season.

   A closer score for 4th placed Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires away to Sherrardswood Ladies on Sunday winning the 3 points with a 2-1 result to keep them right up with the league leaders in Division One.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

4 points from their remaining 2 league games will see Hitchin Belles win the Beds & Herts Division Two title. Move 7 points clear at the top with a comfortable home win over Evergreen Eagles on Sunday. Top scorer Katie White netting a hat-trick moves to 21 goals for the season. Amy Jack back amongst the goals with a brace to go to 18. With a brace to for Kiera How enjoying a good run in front of goal with 14 goals now for the season. Hitchin Belles winning the game 7-1. Sophie Kempsford on the scoresheet for Evergreen Eagles. Hitchin Town Ladies the side that can catch them with games in hand. Hitchin Belles last game of the season away to their local rivals.

Captain Rebecca Freeman scoring twice as Evergreen continued their recent good form with a 4th straight league win to put them to within a point of 4th placed Royston Town Ladies Development with a game in hand.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Two games too in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this Sunday. With leaders AFC Dunstable Ladies Development not in action it was an opportunity for 2nd placed Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses to close the gap at the top back to 4 points. Were away to Stotfold Juniors Ladies. Giselle Randall continuing her excellent season in front of goal for the visitors scoring a hat-trick to take her onto 24 goals for the season. The winning score 4-0 with Kodi Meader also on the scoresheet with her 1st of the season. 

In the other game was 3rd versus 4th with Langford Ladies away to AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies. A tight game between the sides goalless at half-time a single goal enough to win the points in the 2nd half, Kayleigh Humphries getting the goal the win taking Kempston Town & Bedford College back above Langford into 3rd place.

Beds & Herts Women’s League Cup 

Another busy Sunday across the Beds and Herts Women’s league action as well as the semi-finals of both the League Cup & The Chris Renshaw Cup.

   Current League Cup holders, St Albans Ladies aiming to go all the way again in this season’s competition winning through to the last 4 were drawn at home in the semi-finals to play Division Three side AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies. One of a cluster of new sides entering the league this season that have made an impact, reaching the last 4 of the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup, an exciting game between the sides chances at both ends St Albans having a goal ruled out for offside end to end at times Kempston clearing an effort off the line St Albans registering a goal late in the 1st half Eleanor Lovelock sliding the ball past the keeper to put the Division one side 1-0 up. Kempston seeing a goal ruled off for offside themselves just before half-time. St Albans tried their utmost to find a 2nd goal in the 2nd period as Kempston defended for their lives trying to pull a goal back up the other end, Lovelock’s 15th goal of the season proving to be enough as St Albans reach the League Cup Final for the 2nd successive season.

   Far from a close contest in the other semi-final with Division One side Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies hosting, Hitchin Belles leading the way in Division Two and in confident mood reaching the last 4 of the League Cup. Hemel Hempstead in a strong position to challenge for the Division One title running up a double figure scoreline. Bianca Hedgecock nearly doubling her goals tally for the season as she scored a double hat-trick. Likewise Charlotte Ross who had 3 goals to her name before this Sunday also scoring a hat-trick, with top scorer Natasha McConville also amongst the goals with a brace taking her to 21 for the season. An 11-0 win seeing Hemel Hempstead into the final.

Also semi-final weekend in The Chris Renshaw Cup and after this weekends results it’s guaranteed Garston Ladies name will appear on the trophy, just a matter of them playing to see which one.

   Both Garston Ladies sides playing in Division One, have struggled for league form this season with the 2nd XI and 1st team bottom of the league with just one win each. Both into the last 4 of The Chris Renshaw Cup were at home taking on lower league opposition both their opponents 2nd doing well.

  Garston Ladies 1st team were taking on Division Three side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses, the sides involved in a 7 goal thriller with Garston just edging out Woburn & Wavendon at the final whistle. Victoria Harrold, Laura Sephton and top scorer Giselle Randall with her 21st goal of the season getting on the scoresheet for the Division Three side. A brace from Yasmin Sabri, along with a goal each for Jane Hales and Lucy Zecchin seeing Garston’s 1st team through to the final courtesy of a 4-3 victory.

   Garston Ladies 2nd XI were taking on Division Two side Hitchin Town Ladies in the last 4 of the competition on Sunday, both sides starting the game positively Garston drawing first blood taking the lead in the 25th minute. Hitchin Town responding straight away to level, Louise Gash sliding in to make it 1-1 3 minutes later. Back came Garston retaking the lead right away scoring through an unfortunate own goal.  A corner late in the first half seeing Garston take a 3-1 lead Gash hitting the bar for Hitchin Town in the final minute of the 1st half. 3-1 up at half-time Garston added a 4th goal with 20 minutes left to play. Hitchin pulling a goal back in the final minute with Hayley Watson’s half volley from 35 yards out finding the back of the net. Too late Garston winning through to the final 4-2, Holly Jury with her 9th of the season, Dion Lewis and a 1st goal of the season for Garston for Megan Allaway the goalscorers.

  The Chris Renshaw Cup Final also being played on Sunday 12th May and 11am kick-off at Kempston Rovers FC.

One league game played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One on Sunday with leaders Northwood Ladies extending their lead at the top of the table to 4 points with a home win against Sherrardswood Ladies. Northwood clinching the 3 points with a 2-0 victory, Emma Steele with both the goals taking her onto 21 goals for the season.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

 4th at home to 2nd in Division Two on Sunday as both Royston Town Ladies Development and Letchworth Garden City Eagles were looking to close the gap on the sides immediately above them, both Hitchin side involved in the cups. The points were shared in the finish with neither side unable to break the deadlock the game ending 0-0.

  Plenty of goals in the other game played in Division Two on Sunday, all going to the away side as 5th placed Evergreen Ladies travelled to play bottom side Welwyn Pegasus Azures. Well clear of the sides below Evergreen rattled 9 goals past their opponents to win the game 9-0. Those 9 goals shared between 2 players the clubs top scorers by some distance, with Natalie Maher scoring 5 and Rebecca Freeman on target for 4 goals both neck and neck in the race for the clubs golden boot with 12 goals each.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Two games also this Sunday in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three, with Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses in Cup action it was an opportunity for league leaders AFC Dunstable Ladies Development to go 7 points clear at the top. At home were taking on Biggleswade United Ladies. An early lead for Dunstable with Nicola Hollick firing the hosts into a 15th minute lead, that how the score remained heading into the final 10 minutes, Sophie Bounds with her first goal for Biggleswade levelling it up at 1-1. The game heading for a draw Dunstable came back to grab the winning goal with two minutes of regular time left Bianca Vassell with her 31st strike of the season putting the ball into the back of the net.

  Stotfold Juniors Ladies have found some form in recent weeks 7 points won from their last 3 league matches were away t bottom side Buntingford Town Ladies this Sunday. Kept the good run going with a 4-0 to close t within a point of 5th placed Biggleswade. Charlotte Hindmarch and Holly Konopka both scoring twice.

Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup

Once again saving the biggest of the Round-Up’s till last it was a busy weekend with two County Cup Finals taking place as well as a host of county league matches. Sunday beginning with an 11am kick-off at The County Ground Letchworth for the Hertfordshire Women’s Challenge Cup Final. An early start for Women’s Football East too travelling to watch the game. Stevenage Ladies into a fifth successive final have won 3 out of the last 4 including back to back wins, were looking for a 3rd win as they looked t retain the trophy against Watford Ladies U23s.

 The County Ground with a new 3G playing surface as well as redevelopments to the clubhouse. Bright sunshine Watford’s young side starting brightly pressing the ball defender Sydney Hinchcliffe firing them into the lead the ball cleared off the line from a corner struck back in over the line. Stevenage responded well Watford coping doubling their lead late in the first half Andie Dickens firing a shot in from the top of the area.

Stevenage pushed for a reply but it wouldn’t come Watford willing on the counter getting a corner Anaisa Harvey rising highest inside the six yard box to score their 3rd goal. Counter attacking play bringing a 4th goal Eshe Johnson running clear with a composed finish. Watford keeping a clean sheet up the other end celebrating at the final whistle as they win the Cup for the 1st time. Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup

In neighbouring Bedfordshire on Sunday afternoon their was also Women’s County Cup Final action, with Luton Town Ladies meeting Bedford Ladies at Ampthill Town FC. Luton Town Ladies dominant in recent seasons that run ended by Bedford Ladies last season. The sides meeting again this season Bedford Ladies playing in the ERWFL Premier Division looking for back to back successes. Luton Town Ladies having a tough season battling at the bottom of FAWNL South East Division One.

Few chances in the game early on the game livening up with 28 minutes gone Bedford striking the post, Eden Kibron firing in from close range moments later to put Bedford into the lead. Luton pressing for an equaliser it wouldn’t come shots saved Bedford Ladies with the narrow victory winning the Bedfordshire Women’s County Cup for the 2nd successive season. Congratulations.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

The title race remains as strong as ever in Beds & Herts Women’s Division One with the top two gaining 3 more points along with Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies who climb up to 3rd with games in hand.

  Northwood Ladies top of the table with a good away win against St Albans Ladies last time out were on the road again this weekend taking on Sharnbrook WFC. Emma Steele continuing her great form in front of goal for Northwood scoring a hat-trick on Sunday to take her account to 19 for the season. Goals too for Leanne Jones, Danielle Tyler and Zamina Rahemtulla in a 6-1 victory. Millie Scott with the goal for Sharnbrook.

  2nd placed St Albans Ladies awarded the 3 points over Houghton Athletic Ladies remain a point behind Northwood.

 Hemel Hempstead Town Ladies move into 3rd position 3 points behind the leaders with 3 games in hand. A strong position they were at home on Sunday in Division One taking on Sherrardswood Ladies. A brace from Charlotte Rose along with goals from Charlene Turturici-Clarke and a 1st of the campaign for Amy Bentall securing a 4-0 victory.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

 A great weekend for Hitchin Belles in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two as they win at home and see their rivals drop points to open up a 5 point lead at the top of the table. A tough game for Hitchin Bells on Sunday at home against 4th placed Royston Town Ladies Development a close run reslut Kierra Gabriel and Hannah Tofts scoring for the visitors. Hitchin Belles with a potent attack this season 4 players into double figures 3 of them were on target with a goal each to see the game won 3-2 with, Keira How, Amy Jack and Charlotte Peters all celebrating.

  Hitchin Town Ladies in 2nd spot going into Sunday’s match were away to 5th placed Evergreen Ladies, the hosts scoring through Natalie Maher just past the half hour. That goal proving to be the winner as Evergreen battled to keep Hitchin Town from finding a reply.

   That result coupled with a win on the road Letchworth Garden City Eagles a 4th straight win with one result a walk over sees them up into 2nd place themselves in Division Two. Were taking in Wheathampstead Wanderers Ladies on Sunday. Goals from Tayla Murray, Katie Smith and a 1st of the season for Simone Leah Straughn sealing a 3-0 win for the visitors. Who like Hitchin Town Ladies have a game in hand on Hitchin Belles.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

A big game at the top of Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three this Sunday with the top two going head to head with just a point between them. AFC Dunstable Ladies Development with the narrow advantage hosting 2nd placed Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses. Dunstable unbeaten dropping just 2 points so far and those back on the opening day, Woburn & Wavendon losing just the once that early in the season in the reverse fixture with Dunstable. Giselle Randell firing Woburn & Wavendon into a 20th minute lead. The visitors holding the narrow advantage at half-time, Dunstable getting back on level terms on the hour through Nicola Hollick’s 4th goal of the season. The scores level with less than 15 minutes left Bianca Vassell, Dunstable’s top scorer scored to put the hosts 2-1 up with her 30th goal of the season. The three points guaranteed in the final minute with Hollick on target for her 2nd of the game to see Dunstable go 4 points clear at the top winning 3-1. 

One goal in it between Kempston Rovers Ladies and Langford Ladies on Sunday. Langford’s Amber Clark claiming her 20th goal of the season securing the 3 points to take Langford back into 3rd place in the Division Three table.

  A high scoring draw seeing the points shared on Sunday in Division Three between Stotfold Juniors Ladies & AFC Kempston Town & Bedford College Ladies. Molly Norman making her 1st start for Stotfold Juniors scoring a hat-trick. Holly Konopka also on the score sheet with a goal. 4 for Stotfold Juniors. 4 too for the visitors with Kayleigh Humphries making her 1st league start scoring a hat-trick along with an 18th goal of the season for top scorers Chloe Urbanowicz.

At last a first league win of the season for Bedwell Rangers Ladies, their first 3 points of the season coming away from home against 2nd bottom Buntingford Town Ladies. Two players completing hat-tricks in the match Jessica Sullivan with 3 more has 12 now for the season. Leah Tomlin netting 3 goals too one from the penalty spot. Rachel Young with a brace too for Bedwell with Alicia Fieldsend also scoring in a 9-0 with that takes Bedwell off the bottom.
