Sunday 3rd December

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

With St Albans Ladies not in action this Sunday it was an opportunity for 2nd placed Northwood Ladies to close the gap on the leaders in Division One, a tough game at home however taking on Garston Ladies. Northwood with just the one defeat in their opening 6 games since joining the league at the start of the season secured the 3 points winning the match by a single goal, Emma Steele finding the back of the net.

Sherrardswood Ladies consolidated 3rd position in the Beds & Herts Women’s Division One table with a win at home on Sunday against Sharnbrook WFC. It was the visitors however who were leading at half-time goals for Emma Butler and Gemma Franklin putting Sharnbrook into a 2-0 lead before Laura Cousins pulled it back to 2-1 in the 40th minute. Trailing 2-1 going int the final 15 minutes Cousins grabbed her 2nd goal of the game in the 77th minute to draw the sides level at 2-2. Sherrardswood going on to claim all 3 points in the final 5 minutes with Francesca Novelli scoring the winner.

   Two successive draws against the top two in the league Houghton Athletic Ladies built on that by securing their 1st win of the season in Division One away to Flitwick Ladies. The hosts struggling for numbers and looking to recruit new faces to the squad came up against a confident Houghton side Emily Wilson scoring a hat-trick with Holly Thomson also on target with 2 goals. Holly Skinner, Ciara Craig and Louise Spendelow all getting a goal each too in an 8-0 that takes Houghton up into 5th position.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

One match played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two at the weekend with 5th placed Welwyn Pegasus Sapphires away to bottom side Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Blues. Goals from Danielle Allen, Sophie Mandel, Mandy Mercer, April Spang and Hanicka Mikova plus a brace for Chemise Huitson seeing Welwyn Pegasus win the match 7-1. The 3 points lifting Welwyn Pegasus up 2 places back into 3rd position in the table. Sally Green the goalscorer for Woburn & Wavendon.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Three games played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three at the weekend. It was a meeting between the top two with league leaders, Bedford Ladies Development away to Welwyn Pegasus Azures. 5 points clear of their opponents going into the match Bedford took an early lead in the game with Cayleigh Jackson scoring in the 8th minute. Susannah Hall made it 2-0 to Bedford just 3 minutes later. Janiece Allen pulled a goal back for Welwyn Pegasus. Joanne Makin putting Bedford 3-1 on 27 minutes. Allen netted her 2nd goal to make it 3-2 to Bedford going into half-time. The visitors going on to secure the win 2nd half captain Jessica Bunnage scoring just past the hour to see Bedford extend their lead at the top to 8 points with a 4-2 win.

Wheathamstead Wanderers Ladies leap frog two places in the Beds & Herts Division Three table into 2nd position level on points with Welwyn Pegasus Azures as they won at home on Sunday taking on Bedwell Rangers Ladies. Sophia Pidgeon scoring a hat-trick for the hosts as they ran out 3-1 winners to make it 5 wins from 6 league games played.

  Bottom side Potters Bar United Ladies are finally off the mark in Division Three after they secured a point at home on Sunday playing Shefford Town & Campton Ladies. Leah Casali the goalscorer for Potters Bar. Karen Clark netting for Shefford Town & Campton the 1-1 draw enough to lift them up a place into 5th in the Division Three table.

Beds & Herts Women’s League Cup

An all Evergreen affair in the final tie in the Beds & Herts Women’s League Cup 2nd Round to be settled this weekend with Evergreen Eagles in Division Two at home to Evergreen Ladies playing in Division Three. Amber Charlton scored for Evergreen Eagles however a goal from Samantha Jackson along with a brace from Natalie Maher saw Evergreen Ladies win the game 3-1 to advance into the quarter finals. 

  The 4 quarter final ties are scheduled to be played in the New Year, Sunday 14th January the completed draw as follows:-

Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup

The 1st of the 4 Hertfordshire Women’s County Cup quarter finals was played at the weekend with last season’s beaten finalists, Royston Town Ladies away to Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two side, Hitch Belles. 3 leagues between the sides ERWFL Premier Division side Royston opened the scoring as early as the 2nd minute, Becky Shephard getting the goal. Hitchin Belles responded quickly with a goal to make it 1-1, Keira How on target. Royston were soon back in front however with Shephard getting her 2nd of the game. After that Royston went on to dominate the tie, Paige Rolfe, Sammy Tinsley, Hayley Graham and Andrea Wright all scoring before Shepard went on to complete her hat-trick, Wright adding her 2nd of the game a minute before half-time to see Royston leading 8-1 at the break. Doubled their score 2nd half Tinsley getting 2 more to complete her hat-trick. Gemma Croucher, Ellie Pickard and Paris Coldicott-Stevens also getting a goal each. Shephard adding a 4th goal to her tally with Wright also getting 4 goals in a 16-1 win.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

After suffering their 1st league defeat of the season last Sunday Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership leaders, Netherton United Ladies were looking to put things right at home on Sunday as they hosted Cambridge City Ladies Development in the only match taking place in the league this weekend. A great start for Netherton as they opened the scoring in the 5th minute Emily Johnson scoring. Midway through the 1st half the lead was doubled with Yasmin Green making it 2-0. Johnson getting her 2nd of the game just 4 minutes later to put Netherton into a strong 3-0 lead at half-time. It was 4-0 2 minutes into the 2nd half Netherton awarded a penalty Green stepping up to score. Cambridge City pulled it back to 4-1 in the 57th minute adding a 2nd goal in the last minute, Morgan Want and Charlotte Vaskin scoring their goals. Netherton once again opening up a 9 point lead at the top of the Premiership table.

Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup

Elsewhere it was quarter finals day in the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup. In the only all Premiership tie St Ives Town Ladies were on home soil facing March Town United Ladies. In great form St Ives proved to strong an opponent as they reached the semi-finals of the competition with a convincing win. Georgia Stancombe netting 5 goals in the game for St Ives. Hannah Seymour-Shove also getting herself a brace with Katherine Speed also on target in an 8-0 win.

Newmarket Town Ladies were away in the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup quarter finals taking on Championship South side Isleham United Ladies. Laura Bailey put through on goal to score the opening goal for Newmarket. Chloe Slater doubling the advantage. Abbi Griffin also scoring a brace in the match with Bailey getting another goal to her name. Jess Linger completing the goalscorers, Newmarket progressing to the semi-finals with a 6-0 victory. 

Championship North leaders, Wisbech St Mary Ladies came into this weekends League Cup quarter final tie in confident form as they hosted Premiership side Cambridge University Women who themselves had knocked out Netherton United Ladies in the previous round. The hosts scored twice with Carlie Knight and Lauren Lewis getting the goals. Cambridge University scoring 2 goals in the 1st half with Amanda Wainwright netting both. The visitors starting the 2nd half strongly Lili Donlon-Mansbridge and Fiona Conlon scoring within 5 minutes of the restart. Donlon-Mansbridge adding another goal on the hour with Wainwright going on to get her hat-trick in the 84th minute. Cambridge University Women winning 6-2 to reach the semi-finals.

  Is an all Premiership line-up in the semi-finals of the Cambridgeshire Women’s League Cup too with ICA Sports Ladies also progressing although they were run all the way to penalties by Championship South title chasers, Histon Ladies Reserves. The visitors leading 1-0 at half-time Philippa Hayden-Evans with the goal. Megan Purnell equalising for ICA Sports in the 2nd half. The tie needing to be decided from the penalty spot ICA Sports edged the shootout 3-2 to progress.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

One match played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South on Sunday with leaders Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds opening up a 3 point lead at the top of the table over Histon Ladies Reserves with a big home win over bottom side Burwell Tigers. Ebony Rule scoring a hat-trick for Fulbourn on her return to the side. Stacey Kemp and Marie Stubbings both netting a brace, there were goals too for Yasmine Upson, Sarah Green, Seema Grewal, Katie Luddy and Sharon Pinner an own goal too seeing Fulbourn win 13-1. Megan Seabrook-Mead with the goal for Burwell.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Division One Cup

A new competition in Cambridgeshire this season which as of yet I know very little about except as the name suggests the Division One Cup which in this case is the Championship North and South. Two 1st Round ties were played at the weekend. An all Championship South tie saw Cambridge Rangers Women hosting St Ives Town Ladies Development. The visitors progressing into the next round winning by a single goal captain Georgia Rebane the scorer for St Ives.

   The other 1st Round tie saw an all Championship North tie with Ketton Ladies at home to Pinchbeck United Ladies on Sunday. 2nd in the league Ketton reaching the next round comfortably with a 10-1 win.

Suffolk Women’s Division

East Bergholt United Ladies were 4-2 winners away to Coplestonians Ladies in the only league game played in the Suffolk Women’s Division last Sunday to open up a 3 point lead at the top of the table with a 5th straight league win. Kept the 3 point gap this Sunday as they won big at home to AFC Kesgrave Ladies to extend their 100% winning start to the season, a dominant 1st half seeing East Bergholt United leading 7-0 added a further goal 2nd half winning 8-0, Jessica Clarke and Deban Faiers both scoring a brace in the game with a goal each for Millie Wilding, Annie Northwood, Charlotte Warren and Jessica Quinsee.

  Keeping up the pressure on East Bergholt United at the top are 2nd placed Brantham Athletic Ladies also winning 8-0 at the weekend on the road taking on Ipswich Athletic Ladies. Kirsten Hutchings on target scoring 5 times in the match. Jodie Sharp also netting a brace with Lucy Elmes also getting her name on the scoresheet.

   Also winning at the weekend were Bacton United Ladies to move 3 points clear of Walsham Le Willows Ladies in 3rd place in the Suffolk Women’s Division table. Away on Sunday taking on Leiston St Margarets Ladies were leading 4-0 at half time with both Lois Balfour and Rebecca White scoring 2 goals each. Although Leiston St Margarets threatened a 2nd half comeback getting it back to 4-2 Bacton United held on to claim their 4th league win of the campaign.

   A 2nd win of the season for Coplestonians Ladies moves them up for 8th in the Suffolk Women’s Division into 6th position. Away to bottom side Hadleigh United Ladies on Sunday both Courteney Farris-Whatling and Josie Haward netted a brace along with a strike from Jemma Wessels in a 5-0 win.

Norfolk Women’s Division One

Two matches played in Norfolk Women’s Division One this Sunday, with Thorpe United Ladies taking over the lead in the league for the 1st time this season, although they dropped points for the 1st time this season in the process. At home to Wymondham Town Ladies Reserves the visitors held a narrow 1-0 lead at half-time with Sally Hammerton scoring the goal. Thorpe United coming back in the 2nd half to draw the game 1-1, Shanice Sutton the scorer taking her goals scored tally to 20 from just 7 appearances. The point enough to move Thorpe United ahead of Sprowston Ladies on goal difference.

   Fakenham Town Ladies travelled to the coast on Sunday to play Gorleston FC Ladies looking to build on last weekends 3-3 home draw against Wymondham Town Ladies Reserves. Scored 3 goals once again with Jennifer Codman netting a brace along with a debut goal for Jade Dodds. It wasn’t enough however to take anything from the game this time around as the home side netted 4 times up the other end to win the game 4-3, Gorleston winning their 1st league game of the season. Sophie Gillett scoring a hat-trick along with a goal for Bethany Turner.

Norfolk Women’s Division Two

In Division Two, Bure Valley Wildcats ladies climb a place in the table up into 5th spot after claiming their 2nd league win of the season on Sunday away to Toftwood Ladies. A goal from each side saw them drawing 1-1 at half-time the visitors going on to score twice more in the 2nd half to win the game 3-1. Abigail Clark, Charlie Cooper and Juliette Kelly getting the goals. Thea Wilson scoring the 1st half goal for Toftwood United.

 Gorleston Rangers Ladies won their 1st ever league game in Division Two at the weekend new to the league have been on the wrong end of some heavy defeats claiming their 1st win will do their confidence no end of good. At home to Freethorpe Ladies the sides playing out a goalless 1st half Gorleston Rangers went on to score in the 2nd half and win the game 1-0.

Norfolk Ladies League Cup

FC Sprowston Ladies complete the Ladies League Cup quarter finals line up with a big win away to fellow Division Two side Kirkley & Pakefield Ladies in the last remaining 2nd Round tie to be played. Tammy Graves top scoring in the match with 4 goals. Lois Irving hit a brace with goals too for Keri Boorman, Rebecca Kirby, Joanne Pipe and Nicole Read in a 10-0 victory

ERWFL Premier Division

Cambridge City Ladies fantastic league form continues as the newly promoted side keep hold of the leaders spot in the ERWFL Premier Division winning away to Essex side Brentwood Town Ladies to extend their unbeaten run to 8 matches winning 7. A single goal enough to secure all 3 points on Sunday scored by Bella Simmons who takes her goals tally to 13 for the season from 11 appearances. 

   Cambridge City Ladies remain a point clear of 2nd placed Billericay Town Ladies who also won at the weekend taking on 3rd placed Acle United Ladies in the Premier Division on Sunday. The Essex side getting off to a fantastic start scoring 2 goals in the opening 2 minutes were 3-0 up before the opening quarter of an hour. The lead 4-0 to Billericay at half-time, Paris Smith netting a brace along with a goal each for Georgia Bx and captain Lindsey Morgan. Acle had chances 1st half and came back strongly in the 2nd half Megan Todd wearing the captains armband scoring twice in the 57th and 74th minute not enough however the damage done early in the game Billericay Town keeping up the pressure on the league leaders.

Writtle Ladies finally got back to winning ways after a slump in the league that has seen the one time league leaders take just 2 points from their last 5 games. Came out on top in a 7 goal thriller away to Suffolk side AFC Sudbury Ladies. Goals from captain Abigail Fry, Lucy Jones Hannah Mold and Sophie Vale seeing the Essex side edge the result 4-3 to claim the 3 points and take them back above Acle United into 3rd position. Stacey Teager, Charlene Roach and Semma Halil scoring the goals for AFC Sudbury Ladies.

   It was a Bedfordshire derby on Sunday in the ERWFL Premier Division with 6th placed Bedford Ladies hosting 5th placed AFC Dunstable Ladies. The hosts winning the game 2-0 with goals from Setor Acolatse and Eden Kibron to close the gap on AFC Dunstable to a single point.

ERWFL Division One North

 King’s Lynn Town Ladies are now 7 points clear in the ERWFL Division One North as they recorded their 7th straight win in the league on Sunday at home to Silver End United Ladies they finished the game strongly to take all 3 points with a 5-1 win over the Essex side. Two goals for Olivia Baker, with Tiffany Forshaw, Georgia Reardon and Shelley Woods all claiming a goal each. Rebecca Hollocks scoring for Silver End United Ladies.

3rd placed Wymondham Town Ladies were on the road on Sunday taking on 2nd placed Ipswich Wanderers Ladies, have played half the league games of their opponents due to cup commitments Wymondham Town remain unbeaten in the ERWFL Division One North are scoring plenty of goals two in good form added to that fire power with the addition of striker Hannah Waters formerly with Lowestoft Town Ladies. A blistering start too for Waters in her 1st start for Wymondham scoring in the 6th minute her 1st goal for the club had a hat-trick just TWO minutes later scoring in the 7th and 8th minute. Mollie O’Callaghan made it 4-0 to Wymondham just 2 minutes later. Top scorer Laura Nicholls scored her 22nd goal in the 37th minute to see Wymondham lead 5-0 with Waters scoring her 4th of the game a minute from half-time to see the visitors end a dominant 1st half leading 6-0. Two more goals midway through the 2nd half saw Wymondham win the game 8-0 both O’Callaghan and Waters getting on the scoresheet again. 49 goals now from 7 league games for Wymondham as they look to chase down the leaders.

Histon Ladies were at home in the ERWFL Division One North on Sunday hosting Ipswich Town Ladies Development. Emily Steward putting the visitors into the lead before Katie Seagrave equalised for Histon with 5 minutes left of the 1st the hosts going on to score again late in the 1st half to lead 2-1 Seagrave claiming her 2nd of the game. Histon extending their lead 3 minutes into the 2nd half Sophie Hopkin netting the goal the lead 4-1 going into the final 20 minutes Abigail Davies getting the goal. 15 minutes left and Ipswich Town Development mounted a fightback to claim a point awarded a penalty Grace Bowman stepped up to score to make it 4-2. 5 minutes later it was 4-3 Steward with her 2nd of the game. Into the final 5 minutes and another penalty awarded to the visitors Bowman taking it again and scoring to level the scores up at 4-4.

ERWFL Division One South

Little Thurrock Dynamos Ladies kept their winning start to the season going in the ERWFL Division One South, the Essex side making it 7 wins from 7 to close the gap on Stevenage Ladies Reserves to 6 points with 2 games in hand winning away from home to fellow Essex rivals Hutton Ladies who they have already played 5 times this season in league and cup. Came out on top once again leading 1-0 at half-time went on to win the game 3-1 in the 2nd half. Kerri Thomas scoring a brace for Little Thurrock along with a goal for captain Abbie Simmonds.

At the other end of the ERWFL Division One South, it was good to see Bishops Stortford Ladies returning to action for the 1st time in over a month a difficult period for the club have regrouped and ready to go again this Sunday taking on Hertford Town Ladies. A brace for Kathryn Stanley along with a goal a piece for Heather Martin and Brogan McHale seeing Bishops Stortford win 4-2 to claim their 2nd league win of the season.

FA Women’s Cup

This weekend saw the FA Women’s Cup reach the 2nd Round Proper when the sides from the FAWPL Northern and Southern Division enter the competition, 24 ties played up and down the country 11 of those ties featuring sides playing in the leagues covered by Women’s Football East, and it’s those ties that feature in this edition of The Round-Up.

Harlow Town Ladies were the only ERWFL side left in the FA Women’s Cup a tremendous achievement already by the Division One South newcomers making history to get this far were drawn away in the 2nd Round to FAWPL South East Division One side Luton Town Ladies in good form themselves with one defeat in their last 9 matches. It was the underdogs who took the lead in the game Chloe Bassett putting Harlow Town Ladies 1-0 up in the 15th minute. Held onto the narrow advantage going into half-time. Luton Town coming back to level the scores early in the 2nd half Jess McKay finding the back of the net the FAWPL side then went on to take the lead Kim Farrow making it 2-1 with 15 minutes left to play. Harlow kept battling and Bassett scored again with 2 minutes left on the clock to make it 2-2 and take the tie into extra-time. Neither side looking like it was going to find a winning goal in the extra 30 minutes penalties looming McKay scoring a worldie late on to send Luton Town through to the 3rd Round Proper and break Harlow Town hearts. A fantastic run by the lower league side running Luton so close.

Extra-time was going to be a feature of the day with several times needing to be settled in the extra 30 minutes. FAWPL South West Division One side Brislington Ladies were one of those as they hosted higher league opponents Swindon Town Ladies in the 2nd Round Proper. Goals from Polly Wardle and Jodie Arkell in the 2nd half seeing Brislington drawing with Swindon Town 2-2 after 90 minutes of play. Another late goal in extra-time settling the tie Arkell scoring her 2nd of the game deep into extra-time to send Brislington into the 3rd Round Proper with a 3-2 win.

   FAWPL Southern Division side Gillingham FC Ladies were hosting Plymouth Argyle Ladies from South West Division One in the 2nd Round Proper on Sunday. Zoe Cunningham getting the visitors off to a prefect start putting Plymouth 1-0 inside 2 minutes. Gillingham found a levelling goal in the 20th minute Jade Keogh scoring from a corner. 1-1 that was how the scores remained for the rest of the 90 minutes the tie going to extra-time. Natasha Knapman scoring to put Plymouth into the lead in the 12th minute of extra-time, Ezme Wells made it 3-1 in the 2nd period of extra play to ensure Plymouth a happy journey on the long journey home as they booked their place in the 3rd Round Proper.

Another 2nd Round Proper tie going all the way to extra-time was the all FAWPL Southern Division clash between Chichester City Ladies and C&K Basildon Ladies the Essex side in great form 2nd in the league as they made the journey south on Sunday. Chichester taking an early lead Jess Lewry putting the home side 1-0 up on 7 minutes. Thing’s got worse for C&K Basildon 4 minutes later when they were reduced to 10, Amy Nash shown a straight red card. Despite this the visitors got back on level terms midway through the 2nd half awarded a penalty kick, captain Zoe Rushen sending the ball home to make it 1-1. The visitors going on to take the lead Therese Addison with the goal to see C&K Basildon lead 2-1 at half-time. Jade Widdows got it back to 2-2 for Chichester early in the 2nd half. With neither able to find a winning goal in the 90 at 2-2 the game went into extra-time. Late in the 1st period Chichester took the lead captain Emma Alexandre scoring to make it 3-2. Time left in the 1st period of extra-time and the hosts doubled their lead Cherelle Khassel with the goal sealing a 4-2 win for Chichester.

Women’s Football East headed down to Hertfordshire at the weekend to watch the all FAWPL South East Division One, FA Women’s Cup 2nd Round Proper tie between Stevenage Ladies and Ipswich Town Ladies. History already made for Stevenage Ladies reaching the 2nd Round Proper were hosting a in form Ipswich Town Ladies side unbeaten in 8 going into the match. A competitive game Stevenage starting well opening the scoring in the 20th minute striker Amy Makewell inside the box turning a right wing cross home. Both sides giving it their all in an all action tie Stevenage leading 1-0 at half-time.

 Ipswich Town had threatened from corners earlier in the game coming close on two occasions eventually scoring the equaliser from a 3rd midway through the 2nd half Natasha Thomas rising highest at the near post to make it 1-1. That the score after 90 minutes the tie heading into extra-time both goalkeepers making saves to keep the scores level two excellent save from Ipswich Town’s Sian Fagg to deny Stevenage both sides trying to find a winning goal neither managing the tie to be settled with penalties, a lottery it was Stevenage to take the 1st, missed they saw their next saved before a 2nd miss, Ipswich scoring both their opening penalties it was Gemma Moore a late introduction to the pitch in extra-time to take the visitors 3rd penalty she scored to see Ipswich Town Ladies advance to the 3rd Round Proper.

New London Lionesses were the lowest ranked side left in the FA Women’s Cup playing in the 7th tier were hosting FAWPL Southern Division side, Crystal Palace Ladies in the 2nd Round Proper of the competition. Their run coming to an end as Crystal Palace booked their place in the 3rd Round Proper with a 3-0 win, Megan Chandler, Stefanie Simmons and Gemma Bryan scoring the goals.

A late winning goal scored 5 minutes from time saw FAWPL Southern Division side, Cardiff City Ladies go through to the 3rd Round Proper of the FA Women’s Cup as they faced a possible upset away to South East Division One high flyers Milton Keynes Dons Ladies. The sides goalless up until the 85th minute Jasmine Turner introduced to the game in the 2nd half popping up with the winning goal for Cardiff City Ladies.

   FAWPL South East Division One leaders, AFC Wimbledon Ladies were hosting Southern Division side Portsmouth FC Ladies in the 2nd Round Proper of the FA Women’s Cup on Sunday. Ingrid Asplund putting the lower league side into an early 7th minute lead Wimbledon held onto the advantage going into half-time. Portsmouth levelling the tie with 7 minutes played in the 2nd half Samantha Quayle making it 1-1 the visitors going on to win the tie 2-1 to reach the 3rd Round Proper with Amelia Southgate scoring the winner.

FAWPL Southern Division side Lewes FC Women were hosting Enfield Town Ladies from South East Division One in the 2nd Round Proper on Sunday reached the 3rd Round Proper of the FA Women’s Cup with a comfortable result helped by an early goal Danielle Lane scoring in the 4th minute, Rebecca Carter putting Lewes 2-0 up inside the opening quarter hour. Lane adding her 2nd of the game late in the 1st half the lead 4-0 at the break with Charlotte Owens scoring in stoppage time. Two quickfire goals on 51 and 53 minutes put Lewes 6-0 up early in the 2nd half with Lane going on to complete her hat-trick on the hour mark to see Lewes win 7-0.

 Coventry United Ladies were drawn at home in the 2nd Round Proper of the FA Women’s Cup to fellow Southern Division side West Ham United Ladies, close 2-1 wins home and away to Coventry recently in the league the home side won for a 3rd time on Sunday. Marie Gauntlett’s 16th minute goal seeing Coventry leading 1-0 at half-time. West Ham United getting back on level terms early in the 2nd half Chenise Austin scoring in the 52nd minute. It didn’t take Coventry long to restore their lead Keeley Davies making it 2-1 2 minutes later. The hosts then went on to secure the win with 4 more goals Alison Hall, Anna Wilcox, Helen Dermody and Laura Cooper all on target in a 6-1 win.

In the other all FAWPL Southern Division tie played in the 2nd Round Proper of the FA Women’s Cup league leaders Charlton Athletic Women were at home in an London derby with Queen’s Park Rangers Ladies on Sunday. An own goal scored with 41 minutes played giving Charlton the lead Charlotte Gurr scored to make it 2-0 just before the half-time break. Gurr added a 2nd goal early in the 2nd half before going on to score a hat-trick with captain Kimberley Dixson adding a 5th goal with 20 minutes left to play to see Charlton into the 3rd Round Proper draw.

Essex Women’s Premier Division 

In the Essex Women’s Premier Division 2nd placed, Frontiers Ladies close the gap to leaders Hatfield Peveral Ladies to a point with a comfortable win at home on Sunday against Harlow Town Ladies Reserves, Kay Foy scoring a brace in the game, goals to fro Jill Bartholomew, Sharon Ferguson and Emma Parker in a 5-0 win. Remain unbeaten in the league with a game in hand on the leaders too. 

  Chelmsford City Ladies surge up the Essex Women’s Premier Division continues as they recorded a 4th straight league win on Sunday to move into 3rd position in the table now just 3 points off the leaders. Away to Runwell Sports Ladies, goals from Mia Brisley, Tyler Christou and Georgia Sleep seeing Chelmsford City win the game 3-0.

  Also moving up the Essex Women’s Premier Division table into 4th position are Eastern Avenue on the road at the weekend taking on Beacon Hill Rovers Ladies the sides contesting a goalless 1st half Katie Peers netting twice for Eastern Avenue in the 2nd half with Amara Drummond also getting a goal in a 3-1 victory. Abigail Hopkins scoring the goal for Beacon Hill Rovers. 

Lawford Lades climb back into the top half of the Essex Women’s Premier Division with a huge win at home on Sunday against Hutton Ladies Reserves. Daisy Canny continuing her impressive form in front of goal with another 4 goals taking her to 17 from 7 appearances. Jasmine Cox moving onto 12 goals herself with a brace for Lawford. Gemma Issacs also scoring a brace for Lawford. Ella Boyden, Ami Warnes and Sofia Serghiou all getting a goal each the final score 12-0.

Essex Women’s Division One

Plenty of goals scored in Essex Women’s Division One at the weekend too with 5 matches taking place. Leaders Hullbridge Sports Ladies not in action n opportunity for 2nd placed Southend United Ladies to close the 3 point gap, a big game however hosting 3rd placed Leigh Ramblers Ladies themselves 3 points further behind Southend. The hosts having the better of the 1st half holding a narrow 2-1 lead. Leigh Ramblers coming out on top 2nd half scoring 4 goals whilst Southend could only add one more to their tally. Leigh Ramblers winning 5-3 move into 2nd above Southend on goal difference. 5 different goalscorers for the visitors with Rhiana Castle, captain Amber Denton, Katherine Newton, Sasha Vail and Chloe Gilligan all on target for Leigh Ramblers. The 3 goalscorers for Southend, Lily-Maree Halliday, Morgan Hayes and Georgia Raby.

A 4th straight league win for 4th placed Dagenham & Redbridge Ladies and for the 2nd successive league game the winning score was 8-0, this time on home soil taking on Benfleet Villa Ladies. Daisy Theobald netting 4 of the goals for Dagenham & Redbridge. Sade Walters, Sophie Reed, Juliet Thomas and Rhiannon Rainfourth all getting a goal each.

Rayleigh Town Ladies were hosting Brentwood Town Ladies Reserves on Sunday the visitors leading 2-1 at the half-time interval Rayleigh Town came back in the 2nd half winning it 2-1 to see the sides take home a share of the points in a 3-3 draw. Holly Gash, Jorgia Killington and Eleasha Reeves the Rayleigh Town Ladies goalscorers. Claire Campbell scoring for Brentwood Town Ladies Reserves along with a brace for Emma Mackie.

After suffering 4 straight defeats in league and cup Alresford Colne Rangers got back to winning ways on Sunday to move into double figure for the season away to Chelmsford City Ladies Reserves. Joanne Harvey netting a brace in the game taking her to 10 goals for the season so far. Ellie-May Griggs and Lucie Stanbury also getting on the scoresheet in a 4-0 win.

Also getting back to winning ways were Billericay Town Ladies Reserves at home on Sunday taking on FC Clacton Ladies were leading comfortably 4-0 at half-time before going on to win 7-0 in the 2nd half. Madeline Reeves scoring a hat-trick for Billericay, Sophie Dorney, Giulia Francesconi and Cassandra Piejko were also amongst the goals.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division One

After dropping their 1st league points of the season last weekend at home to Houghton Athletic Ladies, Beds & Herts Division One leaders, St Albans Ladies were looking to get back to winning ways on the road this Sunday on their travels away to bottom side Watton Ladies and did so in style recording a double figure win. Katie Graham opening the scoring putting St Albans into the lead in the 14th minute. Sophie Lawrence and Suzanne Read with 2 both scoring too in 1st half to see the visitors 4-0 up at half-time. Goals followed at regular intervals in the 2nd half Chloe Reeves making it 5-0 3 minutes in. Lawrence getting her 2nd of the game in the 59th minute. Kerry Twigg also getting 2 goals to her name in the 67th and 77th minute. Eleanor Lovelock also grabbing 2 goals in the final 10 minutes to see St Albans win 10-0.

  That wasn’t the biggest score in Beds & Herts Division One at the weekend however as Sherrardswood Ladies went 2 goals better at home to Flitwick Ladies on Sunday. Goals from Laura Cousins and Manjinder Atwal putting Sherrardswood 2-0 inside the opening 16 minutes, Cousins going on to score a 1st half hat-trick before a flurry of goals late in the 1st half put Sherrardswood in full control of the game, Laurie Marris with a quickfire brace, Melissa Wright sandwiching a goal in between with Francesca Novelli also scoring in 1st half injury time seeing 4 goals scored inside 6 minutes. 8-0 up Sherrardswood added 4 more goals in the 2nd half to win 12-0 Novelli getting her 2nd goal of the match, Cousins adding 2 more goals to her personal tally with Rhianna Rose also getting a goal. The win moving Sherrardswood up into 3rd spot in the Division One table.

Houghton Athletic Ladies got their 1st point on the board last Sunday with a 2-2 drawing ending leaders St Albans 100% winning start to the season, this weekend they were at home to 2nd placed Northwood Ladies. Houghton Athletic earning their 2nd point of the season with another draw holding Northwood 1-1. Emily Wilson netting the goal for the home side. Holly Gilder scoring for Northwood.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two

It was 2nd versus 1st in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Two on Sunday with Royston Town Ladies hosting Garston Ladies 2nd XI the visitors winning 5 from 5 at the start of their season in the league. Another 100% winning start to the season was brought to an end after the sides contested a 2-2 draw to share the points, Lauren Berryman and Holly Jury scoring for Garston. Angharad Chambers and Grace Leslie scoring for Royston Town the gap between the pair remains 3 points.

  Also in Division Two it was 4th versus 3rd with Letchworth Garden City Eagles hosting Hitchin Town Ladies. Letchworth closing the gap to Hitchin Town to just a point with a narrow 2-1 win, Emily Jamieson and Natasha Reynolds with the goals for the home side. Jessica McNamara scoring the goal for Hitchin Town, a game in hand for Letchworth too as they look to get amongst the title challengers.

Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three

Two games played in Beds & Herts Women’s Division Three on Sunday with 2 placed Welwyn Pegasus Azures game postponed, league leaders Bedford Ladies Development had an opportunity to open up a 5 point lead at the top of the table as they hosted bottom side Potters Bar United Ladies, Cayleigh Jackson scoring for Bedford in the 11th minute, captain Jessica Bunnage adding another goal 6 minutes later. Into the final 10 minutes and Paige Abraham scored Bedford’s 3rd goal with Bunnage taking her tally for the season to 11 goals as she added a 4th goal late on to see Bedford win the game 4-1. Paige Street with the goal for Potters Bar United. 

   A 38th minute strike from Jessica Sullivan saw Bedwell Rangers Ladies win their 2nd game of the season at home on Sunday, a good result against 3rd placed Woburn & Wavendon Lionesses Clarets who were in good from going into the game winning their previous 3 league games.

Norfolk Women’s Division One

Women’s Football East was at Clipbush Park on Sunday to watch the Norfolk Women’s Division One match between Fakenham Town Ladies and Wymondham Town Ladies Reserves. It was the visitors who took the early lead Fakenham failing to get the ball clear were undone from a left wing cross as Sally Hammerton headed the ball into the back of the net from inside the six yard box. Fakenham responded well to the early set back and came back into the game with a good performance Rochelle Woods strike smashing against the crossbar was dropped by the goalkeeper to fall over the line to make it 1-1 the home side going on to take the lead Fanny Danskanen turning the ball home as it was fired into the box from the left.

  2-1 the advantage to Fakenham the home side started the 2nd half slowly Wymondham doing the opposite looking to get back into the match a good run from midfielder Laura Hammerton into the box set up striker Eleanor Norton to score the equaliser, 2-2. Wymondham went on to take the lead an unfortunate own goal from a corner by Danskanen seeing the visitors lead 2-3. Into the final 10 minutes and Fakenham were awarded a penalty the Wymondham goalkeeper bringing down Fakenham’s captain Sam King. Sian Sands to take the spot kick powered the ball into the back of the net to make it 3-3 the final score the points shared.

Norfolk Women’s Division Two

3 games played in Norfolk Women’s Division Two at the weekend, Beccles Town remain 4 points clear at the table with a victory at home on Sunday against bottom side Toftwood United Ladies the visitors making the trip with just the 10 players available despite this they were holding their opponents 1-1 at half-time, the home side eventually coming out on top in the 2nd half to win 3-1 to record their 7th league win of the season from 8 played. Victoria Ottey, Lucy Robbens and Emily Coe scoring the Beccles Town goals. Rosie Richmond-Smith with the 1st half goal for Toftwood United.

   FC Sprowston Ladies keep up the pressure on Beccles Town with a big win at home against Gorleston Rangers Ladies on Sunday, taking their winning start to the season to 6 games. Rebecca Kirby scoring a hat-trick, 3 players all grabbed 2 goals each, Keri Boorman, Joanna Davey and Lois Irving, whilst a further 3 all celebrated a goal each, Tammy Graves, Kelly Hawker and Annika Skoog in a 12-0 win. 4 points behind Beccles, Sprowston have two games in hand.

  So too do Tavern Ladies climbing above Kirkley & Pakefield FC Ladies into 3rd spot with 13 points now winning away from home against Bure Valley Wildcats Ladies. Women’s football proving to be an educational experience for Bure Valley’s young guns alot more physical than the U16s football they’re used to. The sides level at 1-1 at half-time, Tavern went on to win the game 4-2 in the 2nd half with Sophie Fuller scoring a hat-trick, Emily Bell with their other goal. 

Norfolk Ladies League Cup

One game from the 2nd Round of the Norfolk Ladies League Cup played at the weekend after a referee no show prevented the game taking place previously, Division Two newcomers Costessey Sports Ladies hosting Division One side, Gorleston FC Ladies. The higher league side having plenty of goal scorers in their sides several found their scoring boots on Sunday, Bethany Turner scoring 7 goals alone, Samantha Hunn getting 4 goals to her name. Both Leanne Smith and Sophie Gillett got a hat-trick, Molly Sims a brace and a goal each for Rosie Cook and Kelly Allen in a 21-0 win. A tough scoreline for Costessey Sports however Gorleston credited them for not giving up despite conceding goals.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership

Cambridgeshire Women’s Premiership leaders, Netherton United Ladies 100% winning start to the season was finally brought to an end this Sunday on the road away to ICA Sports Ladies. A Peterborough derby the home side coming out on top in a high scoring match. A dominant 1st half from ICA Sports saw them leading 3-0 at half-time and although Netherton mounted a come back in the 2nd half scoring 3 times themselves, ICA Sports added 2 more goals to win the game 5-3. Goals from Jessica Farchica, Clare Knibbs, Becky Shields, Donna Nicholls and Carmen Herridge securing their 3rd win of the season taking ICA Sports up into 4th place in the Premiership table. Yasmin Green, Alice MacNicol and Clare Gallagher scoring the goals for Netherton United.

   Benefiting from Netherton United’s 1st defeat of the season are St Ives Town Ladies moving 5 points clear in 2nd spot in the Premiership table winning at home to Cambridge University Women on Sunday who they thrashed 15-0 away from home the previous weekend. Not quite so emphatic a win this time around, goals from Amy Seymour-Shove and Georgia Stancombe securing the 3 points with a 2-0 win. Are 6 points behind Netherton United but have 2 games in hand.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North

Just the one match played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship North this Sunday but it sees the league having a new leader with Wisbech St Mary Ladies the only unbeaten side in the league winning big with a double figure score away from home to take over at the top. At bottom side Orton Rangers Ladies who they also beat 8-1 at home the previous Sunday. Orton Rangers doing better themselves scoring 3 goals it was up the other end Wisbech St Mary proving too strong in attack with Carlie Knight scoring 7 goals taking her to 11 for the season. Megan Ratcliffe also scoring a brace for Wisbech St Mary along with a goal for Ella Rolfe scoring her 1st goal of the season in her 2nd appearance in a 10-3 win.

Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South

2 games played in the Cambridgeshire Women’s Championship South this Sunday with the leading pair Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds and Histon Ladies Reserves both at home. Both held to a draw only able to extend their lead by a point.

Fulbourn Institute Bluebirds were host St Ives Town Ladies Development, the visitors starting their season late beginning excellently with 3 wins from 3. Katie Luddy and Marie Stubbings scoring for Fulbourn, Molly Berryman and Connie Liddiard on target for ST Ives Tow who drop points for the 1st time this season drawing 2-2. Fulbourn staying top in goal difference. St Ives Town remain unbeaten handily placed in 3rd spot in the Championship South table 3 points behind the leading pair with games in hand on both.

   Histon Ladies Reserves also having to settle for a point as their 100% winning start to the league was ended at home to Newmarket Town Ladies Reserves on Sunday. The sides drawing 2-2 at half-time, Kirsty Lemmon-Sparkes with both the goals for Histon, Molly Agnew and Joeli Kirby finding the back of the net for Newmarket. The visitors taking an early lead in the 2nd half Jennifer Gray with the goal to put them 3-2 up. Histon pulling the scores level in the final 10 minutes with Lemmon-Sparkes completing her hat-trick, Newmarket the 1st side this season to take points off Histon the final score 3-3.
